You don't get to 200K without regular oil changes and Jiffy Lube Sun Valley has been my go to for years. The reason for my 5 star review is the keen eye of Carlos G. who spotted a tiny leak in a plastic connector for my coolant system. He took the time to point it out to me, and said I should have it looked at ASAP. At home I showed my husband the leak and while he was "looking" at it the cracked plastic broke into several pieces. A quick trip to the auto parts store and less than $40 later we were back in business. But without the warning that little piece of plastic could have caused a catastrophic failure on the freeway or somewhere far less convenient. The worst experience ever!! Reynaldo linares (manager) is a crook. I took my car in for a regular oil change and they over torqued the bolt on the oil pan. After returning to complain he insisted on rethreading the pan/bolt to fix the issue . I refused. He then supposedly replaced the pan with its entire parts. I recently took my car for another oil change to the dealer and they informed that the pan was again over torqued and threaded. Reynaldo refused to give me upper management info and said he was not the owner. He uses the mechanic within that small lot to assist in his theft. The mechanic there did the labor and when I asked him for a receipt he said he didn't have one. DO NOT GET SERVICE HERE!!! We have a small claims case pending. read more

When ever I need a oil change the 1st place I think of is Jiffy Lube... I've live in the area for years and always have came here to this place.. for my cars in the last and cars now. Today I took my girlfriends car in for a oil change. It took about 20 mins or so there was 1 other car there in 1 lane I was in the other. I came in on a Wednesday morning around 10am. Everything went smooth. They changed my oil showed me the old oil and after they put the new oil in they also showed me the dipstick, they replaced my oil filter , topped off my coolants, put air in my tires cleaned the windshield, vacuumed the inside.. pretty much was just 5 star service Ronaldo runs a very good Jiffy Lube center with his team communicating from bottom to top loud and clear. They also showed my air filters and replaced that too. Ronaldo also helped me save some $$ here!! Which is always good!! Jiffy Lube teamed up with mda/muslce up coupon book. I went in with a check engine light and for no charge they figured out it was just a gas cap issue. Rinaldo not only helped me resolve this issue and showed me how to prevent it in the future, but he also reviewed with me an alignment issue that his shop doesn't even fix. He showed me how to check if I had one, asked me to do a spin around the block to check it, and gave me feedback when I returned. All time and energy he didn't need to spend on an issue their shop doesn't even fix, but he did it because he cared and wanted to help. Carlos was so nice and educated me about my vehicle. I took it in for a quick oil change. When i went in i was greeted with kindness by him. Since my car doesn't have A/C i was dying from the heat but they gave me some A/C from the machine that they have and it felt GREATTTTT!!!!! While i was waiting carlos showed me my air filter and educated me on why it's important to have a clean air filter. He checked all my fluids and even showed me my oil after the service was complete. Hard to find a place that have educated workers and are willing to educate their customers. Thank heavens for the guys at this Jiffy Lune location on Penrose! I had taken my Prius to the location in Northridge on Devonshire and Reseda to have my AC serviced. They failed to fill the canister but still charged me anyway. It was worse than before I took it in! When I went back was told I had a leak. NOT TRUE! They simply did not have the expertise to perform the service and would not own up to it! Don't go to the Northridge Devonshire shop!!! So after that bad experience In Northridge I took my car over to the Jiffy Lube on Penrose and my AC was back up and freezing cold in a matter of minutes! It's 105 degrees out! What a relief. Incompetent, and unscrupulous. Sent the wife there to get the oil changed in her Honda Civic. She came home 50 minutes later with a $77 bill. They up-sold her to their premium service and added some other charges including $8 for an additional quart of oil and a couple of additional charges I did not understand. Fifteen minutes later, I drove back down there demanding to know how it is possible to drain and replace all the oil in a compact Honda Civic, and then charge $8 more for an additional quart of oil? Really! Just where would one put an additional quart of oil in a compact Honda Civic? After confronting the manager, he refunded the extra charges and reduced the bill back to $32, which is what an oil change actually costs. When asked to explain the bill, the manager refused stating, "I do not need to explain anything to you, I am returning your money!" Ok, thats fair enough, he did refund the over-charges, and I was willing to let it go at that and made a mental note to never go back there again, until this morning that is. Its been a month since the $77 premium service was performed, and this morning the wife complained about her engine making a funny noise. So when I went out to take a look at it, I found the power steering pump was low on fluid and making growling/squealing noises. Further inspection showed every cell in the battery was low on water, and two of her four tires had less than 22 pounds of air pressure. For clarity, her car has a little over 100K miles, does not leak fluid of any kind, and she has four recently purchased tires. I added some power steering fluid, some distilled water to her battery and filled her tires with air, and now all is well, but the point is..... just exactly what the #$%K did they do for $77 dollars? They certainly did not check the power steering, battery or tires, and now I wonder if they even changed the oil.......and this is was what provoked me to write this totally negative review. This is the last any Jiffy Lube will ever see of any of our vehicles. These guys simply cannot be trusted! read more

Sad world we've become..just simply asked to adjust tire pressure since my light was on..told them I'd pay or tip whichever is ok..first dude was ok with it..then this lady comes out to me and asks me if I'm a jiffy lube customer..& I responded I'm not..says she can't adjust my tire pressure b/c she would have to add me to the system or "you'll sue me"..shitty way to word it to a customer assuming I'll automatically "sue you"..but hey..what more can you expect from jiffy lube..what can be a simple gesture to help someone who doesn't have an air pump at home becomes a one star review for handling it like an idiot.. read more
