Took my car in for an oil change. Was informed I needed a new oil pan and the woman told me to make an appointment to come back to get it done. Another employee checked me out and didn't mention making an appointment so I didn't make one. Took my car to another shop for some minor repairs today, and asked the owner to look at the oil pan. Was informed it is fine. Will not be going back to any Jiffy Lube, ever. I'm disgusted. read more

I brought my 21 Jeep Cherokee in for my last two oil changes. No one else has touched the car. After the second oil change I started smelling oil burning when I would stop the car. I brought it back and had them look at it. I was told by the manager that there was a leak and it was a manufacturer problem. She continued to fabricate a story about o-rings and some other nonsense, while denying any responsibility. I took it to Kelly Jeep and told them that my car was leaking oil. The service rep asked me if I brought it to Jiffy Lube and told me that its is most likely the oil cooler. He told me without looking at my car that Jiffy Lube over tightened the filter and that I was the third person this week. The lying to me and fabricating the problem is just extremely unprofessional. After having the car fixed I went back to ask them to pay for the damage they caused. They are not responding. I will never use them again. At the least, I expected the owner to reach out. Granted I got an oil change on a Saturday at 1015am, it wasn't busy, they took me immediately, explained to them I only needed an oil change, waited about 15 minutes with my dog, quickly payed out with the friendly cashier and was on my way. I asked if there was a nearby place they were aware of but as he was politely saying he wasn't sure some older lady started to angrily say no and to read the signs for that info. Unnecessary. These guys showed me a dirty cabin air filter that didn't even belong to my car with a bunch of Con Artists. My wife took our Honda 2 days ago. She didn't realize this is the same jiffy lube that tried to scam me 10 months ago. Same air cabin filter scam is continuing. Requested a break fluid exchange and won't do it unless I replace my brakes. Employee said it wasn't worth his time.

The staff was courteous. My problem is with the management. They have not provided the employees with any PPE. None of the three employees I saw were wearing gloves. One had no face covering at all. A second employee had some sort of bandana or headband she was using as a make shift mask. The third employee had a mask, but he bought it himself. I heard him tell one of the other workers how much he had paid for it. Not cool at all Jiffy Lube to remain open during the pandemic and not give your employees protective equipment to keep them and the public safe. read more

Worst customer service. Oil change is a bit on the pricey side but it was to include a floor vacuuming so I opted to pay 35.99 here at jiffy lube instead of 19.99 at min-eke. The service was of average speed as the woman mechanic literally was yelling at the manager to get moving and wash my exterior windows as she preformed the oil change. He bickered back mimicking her like a child this made the atmosphere very tense and unprofessional. After using my $5.oo off coupon and paying $32.99 I discover my floor was not vacuumed. I went back in to bring this to the attention of the manager who checked me out. He was extremely rude. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to tell me that "this wasn't a detail service", which I never implied that it was. I just mentioned the floor vacuum was supposed to be part of my service. I had to open all the car doors to prove to him that it wasn't vacuumed. I asked who his manager was because instead of an apology he was acting like a jerk trying to prove me wrong when I WAS right. Pulling into a chain, you have expectations... this place falls far short... Was greeted and asked to wait. The place was not busy and there was plenty of staff waiting about, yet it took over an hour. When the car was in the bay, I was informed that it needed all sorts of work. When I asked how much to replace the six month old air filter, I was told that they do not have them in stock... no price... no expectation on how long to get one. I knocked the dust out of the filter and asked that it be replaced - ignoring the list of other issues. The fellow in the office was talking on the phone a lot and when only my son and I were there resolved to overpower my son's iPOD with the television. The bill came and was a third more than expected - rate increase and the coupon they sent me did not apply to that station. I got a sense of razzle-dazzle from the fellow at the desk, not just to me, but everyone. A day later the service light came on and I found that the oil plug was left in loose, so there was a trail of oil - everywhere! Nice, I was about to leave on a 3,000 mile trip and could have had to deal with this on the road... taking the vehicle to another station had them inspect and said it was a quart low, confirmed the loose plug and said that none of the recommended maintenance was necessary. Their total cost for doing the job right in the first place would have been half of what Jiffy-lube charged. In this case he wanted only a few bucks for the quart of oil... There are plenty of independents in town that are glad for the business, courteous, competent and give straight talk. read more

When I asked for the price they informed me that It would be $60. But after the oil change they told me I owed over $120! Insane. The staff was beyond rude and used scare tactics on me to get other services done. Like saying my car will explode when I'm driving if I don't replace the filter right away. My car is less than a year old with very low miles on it. The way they were operation the store is criminal. They also did not wear masks at all. For the few people that even had one it was below their chin. When speaking to me i requested they put their masks on. They would put it on then completely remove it a few minutes later... I recently went to the Jiffy Lube location on Main Street in Wakefield, MA to get my oil changed. I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5. While there, it was recommended to me that I get my cabin air filter changed. I agreed to have that done. About a day after the new filter was installed by the Jiffy Lube location, I started hearing a ticking noise when I turned on my air conditioner - it sounded like there was something in the cabin air filter. I finally brought my car to the dealership today and had them look at it and was absolutely disgusted when they showed me what had been done by Jiffy Lube. Apparently, after recommending the cabin filter replacement, someone realized that Jiffy Lube didn't have the correct air filter in stock. Instead of telling me this, they used my factory original air filter casing, and took a filter that did not fit correctly from another filter, cut it in half (crudely), put it in my original casing, and used electrical tape to secure it in place. The electrical tape was coming off and that was the ticking noise that was being made. I am absolutely disgusted and will be going to the location to request a refund and I expect to be contacted by someone at Corporate very soon in order to discuss. I will never bring my car to another Jiffy Lube again. read more

Brought my Toyota truck in for an oil change which they drained and refilled. Then told me I would have to come back for a filter. Called before I came down and they still didn't have the filter in stock. I came in the next day after confirming the filter was in and it took almost an hour to get it changed out. I honestly think they still didn't have it and sent a guy out to get it when I got there. The auto dealer I purchased my car new from long ago called me earlier this week. Transcript below. Might be some words wrong but gist is correct: "Any chance you had your last oil change done at Jiffy Lube or a similar place?" "Um yes," I say sheepishly. "Well, the filter was overtightened and has caused some damage." .... Jeff, the dealer's service adviser that has taken in the car almost every time since the car new was quite emphatic and unambiguous that the the filter was overtightened and had caused damage. Jiffy Lube manager went to dealership, looked at the car and says they did not over tighten filter. I am inclined to believe my service adviser. You may of course believe who you want. However, please do google "jiffy lube overtighten" and read jiffy lube wikipedia page before you go there. You may or not have better odds in Vegas. There may be little in this world more expensive than a Jiffy Lube oil change. read more

This has nothing to do with the service in Feb, it happened last week, they must have topped off all the fluids without thinking. I wish I could put 0 stars. Other then a nice technician who helped me with some advice and wipers, I was greeted by a rude lady shaking her head because I didn't drive up fast enough. She was very rude and right off the bat showed no passion for her work. Then. I get home and check my washer fluid and it's empty. Not to mention, I checked my oil and it is low. The price is fairly high considering you can get an oil change for about 20.00 at local shops but alas, convenience of dropping in for an oil change. Saturday morning I walked in and someone was at the desk on their mobile with their feet up. After standing in front of him for a few minutes he told me someone would be with me shortly. The customer service becomes non existent once they know all you want is an oil change and not over priced air filters, wipers etc. They can't get you out of their sight fast enough. My perception of the auto service businesses is typically cynical; if they're time and cost estimates are accurate and I don't feel too dirty when I leave then the experience was good (3 stars). I've been to the Wakefield JL twice and both times the duration estimates were accurate (25 min 1st time and 45 min the 2nd time). I haven't done any price comparisons but I'm ok with spending $200 to change all the fluids and filters on my 97 Subaru with 271K miles. Two out of the three employees I've interacted with I've liked and felt were honest enough - the third was the referee girl in the parking lot who wasn't overly friendly. An older guy named Vince was especially friendly and recommended I have a few things taken care of at a garage (he didn't name drop a specific shop). Prepared for the onslaught of services they claim I need, I was determined to leave with only an oil change. However, after waiting 45 minutes, I was exhausted and becoming impatient with groceries in my car. The technician was extremely pushy, attempting to scare me into replacing my radiator fluid with thoughts of a ruined engine, etc. etc., I finally reluctantly agreed. In a pinch I went to Jiffy Lube against my better judgement. For starters their prices are awful for an oil change and anyone who has ever been to one of these places cringes waiting for the hard sell on everything from wipers to air filters. Sure enough my instincts were correct.....within a short time my engine was leaking oil and the fun began! First, you call the local store and get rude employees with little or no background in auto maintenance telling you they are not at fault. Second, you contact their corporate headquarters who processes your complaint after waiting on hold forever. Third, the local store calls you back to tell you your claim is denied. After taking my car to the dealership and learning that it was a 100% certainty that Jiffy Lube damaged my car I began doing some research as to how to get my money back. WOW!!! was I shocked at what I found. There are entire websites dedicated to Jiffy Lube complaints. Class action suits all over and scores of regular people who got screwed by this company. Instances of damage, theft, and rotten customer service is all over this company. Don't take my word....a simple search will provide you with enough information to never go to a Jiffy Lube again. In fact, I found dozens of complaints about this Wakefield location including the manager Tim. Instances of mistreatment of customers, particularly women and rude behavior toward coworkers. One reviewer had this guy show up at her house after getting their information of the computer!!! I also contacted the New England Better Business Bureau and there were no less than 15 active complaints! As consumers you have a choice. Please educate yourself and spread the word about this company and in particular this Wakefield location. Spend your money (probably less) to go to an actual mechanic and avoid the hassle of small claims court. read more

So, I went to this place for a couple of oil changes without any problems. Then one time they talk me into a radiator flush which can sometimes have the tendency to expose leaks. Sure enough, the very next week I get low coolant alarms every time I start the car. I took it back to them for another oil change and explained the problem, and they didn't give it much attention at all. In fact, I had to bring it up to them again before they hustled me out the door that they hadn't looked at the radiator. Upon letting them know they forgot what I asked them to check, the manager yells down to somebody in the pit saying "You see a leak?" and the guy yells back "No, not really" meaning he glanced at it and didn't take me seriously at all. After repeatedely bringing it up before paying, the manager said I can bring it back to them any time and they will fill up the fluids free of charge, but he wouldn't inspect it for leaks since his guy "had already done that."
