The Jersey Shore has no shortage of great food places but Jillaney's might be the best one I've ever been to. I'm not much of a breakfast guy but the little bits of the omelette and pancakes I tried were amazing. I had the Fat Jill, a classic Jersey fat sandwich, with grilled chicken, fries, bacon and mozzarella. Sooooo good. The best part were the people behind the counter. When travelling around the US on business, I avoid the ubiquitous "breakfast included" at the hotel and always hunt down a locally owned breakfast place. Seems obvious, but considering how packed the free breakfast usually is, not many share my sentiments. Jillaney's is one of those gems of a place that I find infrequently. Friendly folk, packed with locals, everyone seems to know everyone else. They greet customers by name, Nd even remember their orders. Being my first time here, I was greeted with a smile, and attentive but not obtrusive service. But as I type this review, they left me alone. Food was excellent. Eggs easy over was PERFECT. The whites were soft yet set. Yolks unctuously runny, and just enough sear on both sides. More rare than you would imagine! Another solid 5 stars. Great price too!! read more

Does one eat dinner in a breakfast/luncheonette? Normally a "no" answer would be apropos. We decided on the contrary to have an inexpensive meal cuz we weren't that hungry. This place is super clean. It must have been recently remodeled. The prices are very reasonable. We both had split pea soup. Excellent home-made soup with a LOT of ham, yes a lot. A bowl, not a cup, for $3.50. We also both had Jillaney's chicken, grilled chicken breast, mozzarella, and roasted peppers $6.50. Again excellent. All this was served by Amanda Very clean restroom. When in Keansburg try this luncheonette. You won't be disappointed. They say their breakfasts are great. read more

They do a lot for their community and I know many people that I've enjoyed their food i on the other hand wasn't too thrilled about the breakfast sandwich I had from there but by time I got a chance to eat it it wasn't that hot anymore and didn't have a way to reheat it. It's clean inside and outside considering they're on a busy street and some people in town choose to use the ground instead of a garbage can for their trash! What a wonderful little luncheonette. I found this by accident and so glad I did. I like to support local family owned businesses. This was one of them places where everyone knows everyone, and are very welcoming to new comers. Jillian was such a pleasure. She cooks all the delicious food. The portions are great for the great prices she charges. We got to talking the first time I came in for breakfast. She told me about her special dinner she serves Monday's and Thursday's. You get a complete entree, with soup and salad, and dessert.. all for only $10 dollars. Tonight's choices were chicken Marsala or chicken Francese, over rice, with green bean or carrots, with a roll and butter, soup or salad.. it was amazing. The person who took our order didnt greet us before asking what we liked, no biggie. Im not a big breakfast food person so I decided on a grilled cheese on rye with a side of homefries. The wait wasn't long, other staff were friendly and chatted us up. I was not impressed with the food...the grilled cheese seemed to be slathered in mayo, it wasn't crispy or golden...it was actually soggy. I couldn't even eat it. The homefries were OK. What a great little hidden gem of a restaurant. My wife and I searched different types of breakfast and brunch places in the area and found this one. It is a very laid-back casual spot. We were out of town and the workers made us feel at home. My wife had the roast beef triple-decker sandwich. The roast beef was tasty and the lettuce was fresh and overall very good sandwich. I had one of their "fat sandwiches" which contains cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, fries, bacon, fried egg, ketchup, and mayo. Yes it sounds like a lot of food in a sandwich but it was perfectly made. It reminded me of my years at Rutgers University as a student. It definitely hit the spot. They had a lot of their usual customers there who all seem very happy and nice as well. The overall pricing of the food was very reasonable. We will definitely return. After a misunderstanding with the waitress about french fries coming with my meal the owner claimed they were a $2 up charge for a hand full of fries even tho the waitress claimed they came with the meal owner was being rude and agressive towards me and the person I was with even tho he said nothing much. Then she started pacing back and forth and agressively yelling to me infront of the customers while I was trying to eat. We i posted something on my social media and she was like "what did you post I am going to check it right now" and other things and which I hadn't intended on doing but now I am after the scene she made. I've lived in Keansburg for two years and seek to move everyday. Having a diner is nice in a town that doesn't have a bank or grocery store. The prices are GREAT BUT THE SEGUCE IS THAT OF AN "OLDER ERA" where people of different backgrounds aren't really accepted. My wife and I do what we call adventure dining each Sunday where we try a different place for breakfast each week. This past Sunday we found this luncheonette in Keansburg. We were very surprised by how much we liked it. This is a very nice place to eat. The staff was very friendly and the place looked very clean. Our waitress was great. The food was very good and extremely reasonably priced. My wife thought the coffee was great for only .99 cents. I had a huge mason jar cup of water and didn't need a refill since it was so big. My wife had the Veggie Omlette and she loved it. She thought it was big and tasted great. The fries were crinkle cuts and very tasty too. They were crispy & not greasy at all. I had the Ham & Cheese Omlette with home fries and I thought my home fries were very good. We order a full stack of pancakes and I thought they tasted great. Much better than I thought they would. This place is really a hidden gem. It's definitely has a home town feel where the staff seems to know the locals by name and appreciates their oatroI highly recommend trying this place and I would definitely go back. read more

If you have an appetite get the hungry man, eggs sausage bacon hash brown toast. You won't leave hungry. Monday nights are the only night dinner is served and they are open on mondays until 8. The Monday night dinner specials are priced very affordable and are awesome and always different. From pulled pork to chicken franchise. Like and follow on Facebook and you will get to see the upcoming Monday special is. Place should not be missed. Lunch menu come out fast and bountiful.
