What horrible service! This is now the 3rd or 4th time they have screwed up an order, still charged us extra, and then played the blame game when I called. We ordered baked potatoes which are an extra charge as a side through Uber Eats. Not only did we not receive them (they are out) but still charged. While trying to see what happened, the Jim N Nicks employee and manager (Leland) said it's Uber Eats fault without taking any responsibility. Not only do I not believe that because of all the other issues, they clearly realized it because they replaced my potato with Mac and cheese meaning they knew something was wrong with the order. I have always loved Jim N Nicks food but this Auburn location has had service issues from day one. Be warned your order will be wrong and you could be charged extra for it too! read more

I rarely if ever complain about a restaurant or servers but this experience has been horrible. First I took forever to get a drink order. Then forever to receive the drinks. Totally clueless. Server was clueless. Cook was clueless. Manager was clueless. Ordered the Cuban sandwich and chips. It came out with no pickles, mustard, or mayo like the menu described and the chips were OLD. I told the server and he was very nice about replacing it. (He actually knew that the chips were likely stale because he finished my sentence). But the sandwich came back still missing pickles and the chips didn't come out until we had already finished. They were good so make sure they are fresh. The real kicker is that the clueless manager came by our table after I had sent the food back. He had no clue despite me being without food in front of me. He asked if everything was okay and walked away before we could give a real response. The server should have been trained to notify the manager when a meal was sent back. For a city loaded with barbeque, I'm not sure that I would return here. The pulled pork was pretty dry and far more expensive than Prices, Mike and Eds, or Byron's, and the sauces didn't do much for me (both were very tangy with no sweet option). The service was excellent. Classic Southern friendliness and pretty fast service. The best part of the meal was the cheese muffin/rolls that come for free with each meal. The cheese caramelized into the bread and it became a sweet, slightly crunchy exterior mixed with a perfectly fluffy interior. Man those things were good. Imagine Red Lobster cheddar biscuits being three times better and you come close to tasting these. So good! read more

Do not go to this Jim N Nicks!!!! Worst service I have ever had in my 61years of life. Arrived at restaurant at approximately 5:30 pm and waiter acknowledged our presence 15 minutes after being seated. He took our drink orders and left. Other patrons were arriving after us . The new patrons received their cheese biscuits and we were told as soon as the biscuits are ready we get some. The patrons that arrived after us(directly across from our table; serviced by our same waiter) some 10 minutes later received more biscuits and we still had not had our first. The waiter never said oh I'm sorry. He just kept on attending to the table across from us. This was just deplorable for our table have sat there watching the table across from us eat and drink and laugh and we are just sitting there watching them eat. When I attempted to speak to waiter he would just say I'll get your biscuits but it's going to be a while. Worst SERVICE EVER!!!!! Please do not patronize this restaurant. Honestly this is my second time to Auburn Alabama each time we stopped here through a recommendation. All I got to say is the food is always on point and the service is great. The first time I came I had the brisket with the mac & cheese as well as the collar greens. It was perfectly tender and the greens were wonderful. Then for dessert I was graced with a luscious piece of their homemade coconut cream pie. I have never had coconut cream pie so good in my life. This time when we came back I had to Bless myself with that same luscious piece of homemade coconut cream pie. We discovered Jim N Nick's when we brought our daughter to Freshman Orientation 2 years ago and we just don't have Bbq this good where we live in California! First we start with the homemade chips served with blue cheese dressing! Super yummy! Even better when you squirt some of their Bbq sauce into the dressing! For main course it's so hard to choose between the ribs, the chicken with Morgan County white sauce (sauce so delicious I wish they would bottle it and sell it) and the Piggie baked potato with pulled pork. Lots of yummy sides to choose from too: baked beans, Mac & cheese, potato salad, & house salad are my favorites! But don't you dare leave without saving room for dessert because they've got the best pie I've ever tasted! All the flavors are amazing but peanut butter is the one I can't forget! It's a hard choice between pie and their banana pudding!! I really wanted to like this place based on the excellent service. Overall the food tasted good but I had to send my combo platter back to the kitchen because some of the meat was cold. My conclusion was that they plated my meal on a very cold plate as it was the bottom layer of meat that was cold. The sweetheart of a waitress apologized saying it had been very cold in the kitchen today. I'd say the management is not ready for prime time. Didn't see a manager after I reported the problem. I've recently posted a review about this restaurant, but after going again last night, I feel the need to post another review. I had a friend visiting the area from Canada and decided to show him so good southern BBQ, and Jim n' Nicks came to mind, despite my misgivings. We went, and, surprise surprise, they were once again out of the item I wanted to order. This was at 6:30 PM on a Wednesday evening. Yet again I was unable to order the dish I wanted from this restaurant. I don't understand how difficult it is to ensure that you have enough supplies on hand. I get it, sometimes reality exceeds expectations, but for this to happen just about every time I am in this restaurant is inexcusable. I would have left if it weren't for my Canadian friend being there with me, and having no other opportunity for him to experience good southern BBQ during his visit. I don't think I'll be back. Too many disappointments with not being able to order the item I want. On the plus side, my friend agreed with me that the BBQ he got was the best he'd ever had. Jim 'N' Nick's is a really good place to eat because they offer a few more options for sides than typical BBQ places. They have fruit, chips & salsa, and salads, however sometimes they are out of the fruit by dinner time. The white sauce they have is great on the BBQ- I don't use anything else. It's my favorite BBQ place in town because it's quick and you don't feel as bloated or greasy as you normally would after eating a barbecue sandwich. The coleslaw is better than most of the places in town, especially barbecue restaurants since the two typically go together and that speaks a lot about the quality of the food. read more

Disappointing. I've been to other locations that were much better. Food was just ok. They only had coconut pie and banana pudding available for dessert. How is that possible on a Saturday lunch time? Our waitress was friendly but attentive to the point of annoying. We just got our appetizer when our entrees were delivered. We had two bites of our entree when she asked if we wanted dessert. This review is for the drive-thru experience only. Jim 'N Nick's was perfect after hours of driving when I just wanted to crash in my hotel room but didn't want to eat fast food. It probably took 10-15 minutes to get my order in the drive-thru right at dinner time. When I ordered there were 2 cars ahead of me, and both had large orders. Service at the window was pleasant and efficient. My order was correct, and the food was delicious! I ordered a pulled pork plates with collard greens and macaroni and cheese as the sides. The plate also came with corn bread muffins. The collard greens and mac & cheese were some of the best I've ever had. Soooo good. The packaging was really good too. The sides came in plastic containers which kept the food warm and kept it from leaking. The pulled pork was very good as well. You could taste that it had been smoked, and the outer edges had a crispy, caramelized crust. I don't usually care for sweet corn bread, but the corn bread muffins were tasty. They weren't overly sweet and had whole corn in it. I can't speak to the inside experience, but the drive-thru experience and food were both excellent. read more
