We stopped in at Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q and were not disappointed! We started with the deviled eggs, which was such a fun surprise--I don't think I've ever seen deviled eggs on a restaurant menu before. They were creamy, flavorful, and the perfect start to the meal. Then came a basket of their cheese biscuits... oh my goodness, those are to die for! I ordered the pork with their house barbecue sauce and chose collard greens and mac and cheese for my "trimmings" (that's what they call sides). The collard greens had a nice spicy kick, and the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Two of my colleagues ordered the brisket and said it was the best they've ever had--I was almost wishing I'd ordered that too! We wrapped things up with banana pudding, and let's just say the plate was practically licked clean. If you're anywhere near Charlotte, Jim N Nick's is definitely worth a stop--great barbecue, friendly service, and those cheese biscuits alone make it memorable.

I don't remember being this disappointed the couple times I've been here a few years ago. Something must have changed in management or staff, but we were very underwhelmed. Lots of tables available but still had to wait 20 min (which we were told would be 10-15min) so probably not enough servers. Our server barely came to check on us, and even though we ordered immediately after being seated, things were still so slow. The brisket was dry, not much flavor, and definitely not marbled, despite confirming with our server she ordered marbled for us instead of lean. It's hard to mess up pulled pork, but this tasted like nothing. Best part of the meal was probably the corn and the cheese biscuits. Even the second batch of cheese biscuits took a while. Our mistake for coming here instead of any of the much better bbq options in Charlotte.

After that other place across town that's not worth mentioning - we sped away from that shop - JNN made me feel like we made the right choice. I felt bad pushing my friends but we needed food and the other place just didn't give a mac. Well, at JNN, the server actually greets you, brings you water, takes your order, and checks on you! Normal server things! Yay. JNN feels like Mission BBQ inside - rather bright, music playing, but not overly kid-oriented (no loud birthday celebrations for example, I heard a waitress wish someone a happy birthday and that was that). Good southern taste. Those cheesy corn biscuits that came right out to the table, oh. my. goodness. I'm so sad that we drove out past the drive-through and it said you could order them by the half-dozen or dozen! I so could have taken another bag of those home with me. Creamy, fluffy, sweet, perfection. The special mac n cheese balls - very good, maybe a little too greasy and over-fried on the outside. Kinda masked the taste inside. As for the entree? My first bite of chicken was a little tough, but it got better as I ate into it. If you can handle a little twinge of heat, ASK FOR THE HONEY HOT BBQ SAUCE. One of the best sauces I've ever come across. It went on everything, though the chicken honestly stood on its own merits. Of the sides, I think I overdid it with the mac and the app. The collards are tasty with their meat included, but not quite cooked down enough - still crunchy. My friend enjoyed the baked beans and their meat. Well, with good service, atmosphere, and food, I had to walk out of there with the dessert. Dark molasses, pecans all the way through? That's my vibe. And of the many north Charlotte BBQ places, I vote that this should be yours as well.

No complaints! Delicious food- moist chicken, ribs were okay my husband said middle was delicious but end was a little hard and the Mac n cheese was delicious! I always enjoy a Mac with a crust! My favorite has to be their cheese biscuits! Our waitress was nice and attentive but not in the way lol which was perfect. The place is fairly large which is nice especially if you have a small group you won't have to wait long probably. The music was nice all in all a nice spot to eat.

Jim N Nicks is the BEST! The best bbq ever. When traveling to Charlotte we always stop at Jim n nicks bbq. We've never had a wait, and the one time it was crowded we sat at a the bar, easy! I love their bbq, the bbq beans are amazing, and the cheese biscuits are out of this world! A cool thing is their seating and ambiance. There are booths up higher like bar table height not a booth. And the same ones lower. The are booths open on both sides. It's easy for people to come and go. But the food!!!

    Biscuit yum

Wonderful atmosphere Biscuits not as warm as other visit. Wings were amazing as always I will never order anything else now! Waitress was nice and bubbling laugh I loved her.

Pick 2 platter with pulled chicken, pulled pork, baked beans and potato salad. Meat was tender and juicy and didn't need additional sauce.

Despite being understaffed during our visit they still managed to serve up some of the tastiest bbq I've ever had. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was outstanding. Stayed in a nearby hotel for a concert and I'm so glad we ended up here for dinner. The honey habanero sauce on the wings was to die for. I meant to buy a bottle on the way out but forgot. Will definitely be back next time I come to a show at PNC Pavilion.

One of the best barbecue places in the country! I used to come here all the time when I lived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, I was thrilled to see that there was another location in Concord because it's literally the best! Everything from their cheesy biscuits, from their pulled pork sandwiches, deviled eggs, mac n cheese and brisket, you literally cannot go wrong here. The service is always amazing and the waitresses are always so sweet, they all treat their customers with genuine southern hospitality. If you're looking for good barbecue with good service, this is a spot you do not want to miss out on.

Hubby had the Texas Trinity which consisted of ribs, sliced brisket and sliced jalapeño cheese sausage link served with the best hush puppies and he decided on sides of collard greens and sweet potato casserole. Note, sorry the brisket was almost devoured before I could take the pic. Everything was seasoned to perfection! The brisket and jalapeño cheese sausage was the best he's had since leaving Texas in 2006; so good in fact that he ordered 2 additional links to go! I felt like having a burger and fries. Johnny Roger's was the choice. I had the Wagyu smash burger with fries. Price was a little steep, but what the heck. After a short wait, the order disc started vibrating. The burger and fries were good. My burger had two patties with a slice of cheese on each one. I did like that. The bun was good, it held up while I was enjoying my meal. The patties were very thin, but tasty and enjoyable. The fries were pretty good. I didn't get any seasoning that I could tell, but that's ok. Gibson Mill Market food court is actually pretty good place to hang out it seems. Who doesn't enjoy a burger and a beer (High Branch and Cabbarrus breweries are on site). It seems like a great place with plenty of things to see and partake in. It has a great vibe for sure. We would probably visit here again when everything is open. I would eat another burger here honestly.

Cons; - The lady that took our order asked us if we placed an onlne order if we needed to place a to go order 15 minutes later. We were missing a salad, a chicken salad sandwich, and a brisket grilled cheese. - Then we get into our car and double checked everything again. No utensils. Had to go back in for some. - Food quality: meh. The brisket grilled cheese had zero flavor or smokiness. The side of greenbeans for almost $4 was not worth it. Small portion size. Not sure how they seasoned them but they weren't good. The fried pickles were undercooked. Need more choices for salad dressings. The chicken salad sandwich was bland. We won't be back

Mount Pleasant Smokehouse... yeah, that's a no from me…read more While waiting for my order, I watched other customers' meals and already had a feeling this would be money wasted. I took everything home to give it a fair shot, so here we go: Mashed Potatoes - Definitely better with gravy. The homestyle potatoes, with the peel included, were a nice touch. Without gravy, they needed salt and pepper. The gravy itself had a brown mushroom flavor that gave the potatoes some much-needed taste. Hushpuppies - Crispy on the outside, soft and full on the inside. No complaints here. Baked Beans - A complete miss. No flavor at all--just bland, straight-out-of-the-can vibes. Ribs - They pulled apart easily, but despite the light saucing, they had no real flavor. Brisket - Had a nice smoky taste, but definitely needed sauce. Unfortunately, the vinegar-based sauce they provided was a mistake--thin, watery, and just bad. Chicken - The best thing I tried. Lightly sauced, with a good smoky flavor that actually carried through the meat. I hope they improve, but for me, this was a one-and-done experience. #GratuityAdded #CharlotteEats #MountPleasantSmokehouse #CabarrusEats #Cabarrus #CabarrusBBQ #charlottefood #charlottenc #cltfoodie #charlottefoodie #charlottesgotalot #exploreclt #charlottefoodies #cltfoodies #issawrap #cltfoodbloggers #charlottefoodguide #charlottefoodblogger
