I heard the food here was really good, so I came! Very spacious, plenty of seating with a bar. Service was great. I ordered the Cajun skillet...it did not disappoint!!! Very well seasoned with just enough spice. The food and drinks were great, I will return again and try other dishes.

Excellent choice if you want a Cajun meal. The staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They'll be able to recommend something that you're going to enjoy. The ambiance is pretty lively including the decor. The pricing of the food is not only budget friendly but well worth it when you order any of the specials. I highly recommend getting a frozen cocktail (or 2) to complement your meal. I enjoyed the seafood etouffee as well as the sampler that included the fried pickles.

Food was great just like I remembered its been a couple years. Stopped in on NYE with some family that came from out of town. It was a party of 7 and we had no wait , we seemed to time it perfectly because a few minutes after we got sat people started to come in. We had gator bites as an appetizer which ive tried before and they are still good! I ended up ordering the bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp with dirty rice and it was good. Shrimp were smaller than I expected but still were really good! Our server Rachel A was great as well, great overall customer service from her. Razzoo's didnt disappoint me i dont come here very often anymore but its good to know they haven't changed in my opinion.

I've been here several times but just haven't ever reviewed it. Razzoo's has a nice Cajun atmosphere. Great aesthetic on the inside and plenty of zydeco playing in the background. However it never really feels like I can relax and enjoy that ambience because it seems they really try to get you in and out as fast as possible. On this visit I ordered the grilled alligator. Overall it was good but it was a fair bit too salty. I know a lot of restaurants do that on purpose to make their patrons thirsty and order more drinks. But I think too much salt detracts from the flavor of the dish. Now that being said, our waitress seemed not to want us to stay longer and order more. She didn't ask if we wanted to order more drinks, she didn't ask if we wanted dessert, she only provided ice water when it was asked for, and she did seem to be in a hurry to give us the check. The place wasn't even that busy.

First time there tonight with my daughter and future son in law. Our waitress was top notch! I wish I got her name The food was delicious! I had the Cajun fried chicken, mashed potatoes, garlic toast and the best corn on the cob I've ever had! I will be back!

My experience at Razzoo's Cajun Café was okay overall. The atmosphere was nice, but the customer service could have been a bit more attentive, and the quality of the food didn't quite meet my expectations. There's definitely room for improvement.

This is by far the best Cajun cuisine in the Charlotte area. I always get the crawfish étouffée. The drinks are also good. The servers are amazing.

Business dinner for two. Looking for something good and the area and decided to give Razzoo's a try. Nice large parking lot. Seated immediately. Nice Cajun decor. Started out with disappointment when they didn't have any Abita beer. Hard to be a Cajun place without Abita. Menu seems to be fitted for a chain style restaurant. I ended up ordering seafood gumbo and the jumbo fried shrimp off the appetizer menu. Brett had the fish and shrimp platter. I found the gumbo to be bland. The shrimp were ok. The dipping sauce for the shrimp was tasty. The tea was good and service was inexperienced but good in spite. My tea glass ran dry and Brett never got asked if he wanted another beverage. Training could definitely help as he was a very friendly fellow. Not a place I will return but we did give it a try.

The broccoli was the best thing on the plate. The fish and shrimp seemed as if it came from Walmart, the French bread that was supposed to come with this was the size of my thumb. Zatarans boxed rice was better than this dirty rice .. no wonder why this place is empty. I had to ask to be sure that this was actually redfish and I'm still uncertain. My server was Mikayla she was great.. if not for her I would've walked out. The restaurant itself is half empty on a Sunday, that should have told me everything that I needed to know.

Stuffed Shrimp with Corn Cob and garlic toast. - mmmmh just ok.

Mediocre. Idk if I am being biased but this is like a chain restaurant type of vibe. It's a place you go to when you have out of town guests that do not require much. My home girl was telling me that this is one of her fav places but after leaving I began questioning her tastebuds lol. Now I must say I tried to be open minded but my favorite out of the entire dining experience were the rat toes. It's jalapeños stuffed with seafood mush (crab & shrimp I believe) and fried. They're big and you get about 5. Enough to share or devour on your own. The dirty rice is made with pork! The green beans is made with pork! Damn near everything has pork in it which limited my food options. I chose the stuffed shrimp. It has the same mushy insides as the rat toes. It comes with white rice but they can swap it for dirty rice, green beans, and garlic bread. I heard it tastes better with the dirty rice so if you eat pork, go for it! I subbed the green beans for corn cobb. Boring! The shrimp would be better if they didn't use that mushy stuffing, I was expecting lump crab or something more worthwhile. The sauce was where the flavor was and they didn't give enough for the shrimp and rice. Considering rice is dry you would like they would give enough sauce. The corn was basic. The garlic toast seemed like it was previously frozen, like the texas toast brand. I had a henny southern peach drink but it was giving tourist vibes. A cute cup and with lots of ice, syrup and little liquor. The parking lot fills up quickly and traffic is the worst on the weekends since it's across the street from the mall.

This restaurant was ok for me. The decor gave a NOLA feel which was cool! Zanaiyah provided great customer service. Now the food, I ordered a swomp pop and sausage with beans and rice. My drink was a mocktail which was very sweet. My beans and rice was good but the sausage was tough. I wouldn't be back, but I encourage you to try for yourself and maybe you'll have a different experience.

We had a location in our town, but it closed. Razoos is one of my son's favorite restaurants so we decided to eat there while in the area. He was very excited because he loves their alligator bites. We started with the Boudin balls. They have a little spice and are nice and crispy. I have the étouffée combo with a salad. The étouffée is my usual order because very few restaurants make that dish. I liked that it had the crawfish, shrimp and fish. The salad was a good accompaniment because étouffée can be quite rich. They were out of oysters so next time I hope they have them. My son loved his alligator and was very happy to see it on the kids menu now.

Shrimp and American Catfish Combo (I guess the empty spot is where my shrimp were supposed to go)

The Cajun pasta had the best sauce I have ever had in a pasta (and I just recently come back from Italy) along with the perfect blacked chicken. Seafood gumbo blew me away with the flavor and spice, everything in it was so well blended together. The mashed potatoes were a perfect addition and balanced out the meal. In fact, I think Cajun Queen might be one of the the haunts we take visitors while they are in town. We started with a half order of fried oysters. Delicious. I had the blackened catfish with the same crawfish topping with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. We both greatly enjoyed our dishes. I was almost deterred by recent reviews regarding seasoning of the dishes. My wife and I are accustomed to eating spicy food. I am pleased to report that spices happily danced on my tongue as I savored my catfish. To finish off our meal, we shared a slice of warm pecan piece. Delicious. The wonderful food was coupled with pleasant enough service. Our waitress waited a little too long to return to take our order, but once she did I was surprised by how quickly our food arrived. We enjoyed listening to the three-piece Gator Band (drums, upright bass, and piano) playing jazz tunes while we ate on the second floor of the converted house that is the Cajun Queen's home. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

That said, Yard Dog is not a dog at all, but a superb little restaurant with a great menu and mouth-watering foods. Oh boy! Wife and I entered and were surprised at just how small their dining area was. Couple that with a not-so-pleasant noise level, you will have difficulty seating more than four and conversation will be tough, but not impossible. You came to eat. It is a very cozy, busy and fun place. In addition to the super menu there is a chalk board with specials. Check those out first. I spotted catch of the day, which was Red Snapper, a favorite of mine, which came with two sides ($26). When served, it was three fillets, so the whole eatable parts of the fish, topped with a Cajun spice mixture and a horseradish sauce. This is a to-die-for or last meal item. The fish was perfectly cooked and my side of collards were as mammy has done for eons: flavorful with pork and a perfect complement to my catch of the day. And the fried okra was great and I paid the $.50 for ranch dressing, as fried okra SHOULD be so complemented. Wife does not eat sea food, so she was, initially, confronted with the challenge of finding a dish without seafood in it. She did. There were a number of options, like pasta with Andouille sausage ($21) which is listed as with shrimp, but they omitted the shrimp for her. She also spied blackened meatloaf and some other items for the next visit. The place is busy and the wait staff is hustling as fast as the kitchen can get orders out. The kitchen looks so small, but they are a blur of motion cooking and plating. Kudos to the kitchen and servers. Our server was Sophie and she was excellent. There are beverages on a separate menu, mostly wine, beer and hard cider, with some non-alcohol items also available. We both had hard cider at $6 a can. Draft beer was available at $7 a glass. We will definitely return, even give lunch a try. I will most likely answer the siren call for five stars, which is certainly in the cards. See for yourselves.

It's one…read moreof those comfort foods I don't eat often because it's so rich--but when I see it on a menu, it absolutely catches my attention. That's exactly what drew me to The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. Here in the South, they call it country fried steak, and I'm happy to report this one did not disappoint. I met a colleague there for lunch, and everything about the experience felt easy from the start. The restaurant is located in Phillips Place, a lovely little shopping area that feels a bit polished and upscale--with shops like Orvis, Tory Burch, and even a Restoration Hardware restaurant nearby. They do offer valet parking, which is a nice touch, though honestly parking is easy enough on your own. We had reservations through OpenTable and were seated on the patio, which was absolutely delightful for this time of year in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the setting was relaxed, and the service started off warm and welcoming right away. Now, the food. The country fried steak was beautifully cooked--crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that hit all the nostalgic notes from my Texas upbringing. I paired it with a vegetable side (I believe it was broccoli or corn), and it was a classic Southern plate done right. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, and to finish, we split a praline bread pudding, which felt like the perfect Southern ending to the meal--sweet, comforting, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and one of the things I continue to appreciate about Charlotte is how easy it is to connect with people. We even chatted with diners at nearby tables, which added to that welcoming, community feel that makes dining out here so enjoyable--especially for someone coming from the Bay Area. Prices felt fair for the quality, the setting, and the portion sizes, and overall the experience left a great impression. Bottom line: If you're craving a solid Southern classic like country fried steak--or just want a relaxed patio lunch in a charming part of SouthPark--The Southern Pecan is definitely worth a visit. And as someone happily eating my way through Charlotte and the Southeast, this stop was another reminder that the journey has been a delicious one.

It was already quite busy when we arrived and it's not clear where your parking options are. People are pulling up to the entrance and dropping people off so it gets jammed up and chaotic, of course people are running late so those BIG Yukons and Suburbans are making it a challenge to navigate a small entrance area. You would THINK they would at least have a Valet option of Sat/Sun during Brunch. To park, go BEHIND the restaurant on the street to the left and you'll see some free parking options that are close and walkable. We asked for a table on the patio and were immediately seated. The bar was already buzzing with solo diners enjoying their Mimosas. The patio is NOT that big, a little over crowded and table are very close with not much space in between. There was a LARGE group of 'FUN' ladies right beside us enjoying their MIMOSAS, dropping the 'F' bomb from time to time and making a LOT of noise. What can you do? Nothing but try to make the best of it and just start talking LOUDER like everyone else. The OVERHEAD heaters were way too intense so the Staff was very responsive at our request to turn down the heat. We shared the BBQ Shrimp Starter which was SO good, I highly recommend. I had the Gumbo and Michelle had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both had the Red Fish which comes with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were so BLAND, the broccoli had NO seasoning. The Red Fish wasn't that great of a flavor and not very tender, not easy to cut, had to use my knife at times to get a bite. Kinda disappointed, I lived in N Orleans for a couple of years and it was always so good there. The biggest disappointment was the Gumbo. It had all the right ingredients but the ROUX was to strong, dark and heavy. It actually gave me indigestion afterwards. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our Server was Daylean, she was so nice and helpful with the menu and kept our refills coming.
