I recently ordered some food from Shane's Rib Shack via Door Dash. Aside from the fact that the Dasher was really really late, I would be remiss to not mention how bad this food was. My order was the lunch plate - 1/2 rack of ribs with coleslaw and Mac & Cheese. The ribs were burnt. Straight up burnt and hard . To say they were charred would only barely describe how burnt they were . Over cooked ribs . The meat was tough and just not good. The Mac and cheese was okay but cold. The Cole slaw was the only redeemable / eatable item in the bag . Aside from the fact that the Door dash driver was exceptionally late and my food was delivered an hour after the order was placed the quality of the food was just missing. It was bad. I may try this place again sometime but it won't be via any delivery. I will want to see the food before paying for it. I am a huge fan of Shane's. We had two in Greensboro that I went to often. Unfortunately they closed and I really hated that. Like I mentioned, We went often and the food was always incredible. I was so excited to be flying into Charlotte and have dinner at Shane's before heading home. What a disappointment! We got there at 6pm. They close a little after 7 and I think and they shut down the food at 5 it seems. I ordered the hot dogs (first time). The quality of the dog was good but they were barely warm and everything else was cold and my bun was stale. My husband ordered the big dad (his favorite) and his meat was just above room temp. A huge let down! I had recently eaten chicken tenders at a Dairy Queen in Texas and they were so hot and fresh you had to wait to eat them! Come on Shane's you gotta do better than dairy queen! Generally like SRS, and my experience wasn't poor - but I have been several times in the last year and the sanitation rating has been a "B". Seating area is generally fine and clean enough, so I will assume the violations are in the back of the house. Honestly, if I could give this place 0 stars I would. The customer service was the best thing about this restaurant. I came in with my boyfriend looking for a good 4th of July meal since we were out of town. I got the chopped chicken plate with Mac and cheese and baked beans and he got a pulled pork sandwich. The sauce tasted funny and the meat was so soaked it made it sandwich bread over soapy. When I tell you not only did I barely eat the food, but it had his and I stomach's messed up not even 30 minutes after eating it. 10/10 would not recommend to anyone. read more

We recently went to Shane's rib shack because of their Veterans Day special. We were super thankful that they offer the special for 3 days and thought this was very generous! My husband got the veterans meal of bbq pork with 2 sides. It all looked so tasty, especially the Mac n cheese and it made me want the Mac and cheese as well! I got the chicken tenders and fries. This was good as well, but the chicken tenders were smaller than I remember them being in the past. I used to get the chicken tender "lunch" basket and they let you order it all day long. I no longer saw this on the menu. We also used to get the shaniac burger and no longer saw this on the menu. Overall great friendly service. This is a good casual dinner spot. BBq is made on site smoked for 10 hours daily. I ordered the pulled pork with coleslaw on a bun with sweet potato fries and fried okra. The food exceeded my expectations. I would recommend regular fries. They looked better than mine. As I'm finding out down south sweet bbq sauce, which I prefer doesn't exist in many places. Mrs. K. and I were feeling particularly keto today and so we headed to a restaurant that would most likely have meat and more meat. Barbecue. Shane's fit the bill as they were inexpensive and they were open. Two big pluses. We got one plate with a half-rack of ribs and the other plate with the pulled pork. Both with sides of green beans and cole slaw, which were the only sides not completely carbs. And you don't see the Texas toast on our plates as we asked the young lady to hold on to those, thanks. Ribs were meaty, a little sweet, and very delicious. Thoroughly enjoyable and needing nothing extra. Pulled pork was very moist and flavorful. It could maybe have taken some sauce but the stuff they have here is rather high in sugar so we skipped. Green beans were delicious though a little overdone. Cole slaw was perfect. The wife and I decided to come here randomly before hitting the outlet. In the past this was our spot but we had several bad experiences back to back so we cut them off. Needless to say we were a little skeptical going back after a few years. Upon walking in we did notice that they had a B sanitation grade and almost left but we decided to risk it all due to starvation lol. To our surprise the staff was very friendly. Destiny made sure our order was correct and took good care of us. The lady running register was very nice as well. The food was pretty good and portions were like the old days. We finished off the meal with some peach cobbler (heavy on the cobbler) and it sealed the meal perfectly. The only thing I could possibly complain about would be that the toast was only toasted on one side and tea wasn't great but nothing major. Stopped in to pick up lunch today. I ordered online but called in to make a change to more order and the young lady fixed it right up. Employees were friendly when I arrived and my order was already waiting for me. I didn't go in for BBQ, all I wanted was a burger. They have 1/2 pounders and I'm happy to report, my burger was nice. I had the Shack Sampler, so I can attest to the ribs - yummy, tender and saucy deliciousness, chicken tenders - not like the junk you get at some places, these had a delicate, crispy, gently seasoned outside with juicy white meat inside, and the smoked chicken wings which I got naked so I could just dunk them straight into the bleu cheese dressing! YUM!!! With mac n cheese and fried okra! Everything was delicious but I barely got to nibble on the pork bbq because I was STUFFED! AND I was impressed at the reasonable prices. First visit to the newly opened Shane's here in Charlotte was great! I took my mom, who was in town visitng, here for lunch. We were greeted outside buy a young lady doing giveaways to celebrate their opening. I won a coozie and my mom won an jar of their BBQ sauce to take home! Yum! So many great options on the menu. We both got combo plates so that we could try a little of it all. The meats were well prepared, our favorite was the Ribs for sure... I guess if you're going to call yourself a rib shack you've gotta do those pretty well lol. The side were just okay at best... our favorite was certainly the fried okra. The staff was polite and attentive, as you would expect on the first couple of days being open. This would be a 5 star review if the wings my mom ordered would have come out correctly. She ordered smoked wings with mild sauce and they brought out fried wings with no sauce. The manager did politely replace them, but by the time they came out we were ready for boxes. But they never, and I mean NEVER get the order right. You could order 15x in a row and you'd be missing something or have the wrong items. Every.single. Time. At least they are consistently inept? Today, fiancé went in, ordered food, got home, okra was missing. He called and spoke with a a guy, offered for us to drive back over for missing okra. Fiancé asked for email of franchise owner, and was put on with extremely disinterested and incompetent 'GM'. She literally didn't offer anything in the way of 'I'm so sorry, how can I help.." nothing. Tania or something... and she didn't care. Fiancé has contacted owner about these issues before. They have the absolute best Brunswick Stew I have ever tasted. They had dropped it from the menu sometime during COVID. I'm so glad they brought it back. Once you have their stew, chances are you'll won't be satisfied at any stew you try elsewhere. Big time! read more

Service is awesome and the outdoor picnic tables are great for some outdoor dining with lots of room for the kids to run around and burn off the calories. The staff gave me great advice on what to get, but here is what I liked the chicken fingers in the lemon pepper sauce, the stew is amazing and the 1/2 chicken is better then the chop chicken FYI. After a long, grueling Saturday there was no way I was going to cook. Shane's just opened up a new restaurant near me, so I decided to give them a try. I was so happy to see that a couple of the parking spots closest to the doors were reserved for take-out customers only (THANK YOU, Shane's!). The dining area looked clean. The cashier was friendly and helpful in answering my questions about the menu. I parked my tired self on a bench and waited for my order, and expected to wait 10-15 minutes, but no-- my order was ready incredibly fast! We checked it for accuracy and I was on my way home to eat. I was entirely too tired and hungry to take pics, but I assure you our food tasted amazing! I ordered ribs, smoked wings, fries, and green beans, and every single item was perfect. I'm so glad we now have a Shane's Rib Shack in the neighborhood and I'm sure I'll be a regular there! read more
