The location was much more exciting than the cood itself. Wasn't disappointing, but nothing new or delicious. The chicken for the chicken and waffles taste pretty blamd and morelike chocken pattoes. The steal amd eggs , were not what i excpected either, i like a nice steak, no gravy . The pancakes sre huge and one is more than enough . As a former food critic in Texas this was so below par. Husband asked for rare burger, received well done, no lettuce, tomato or onion as asked for, Irishman sandwich also had well done burger as well as so soggy. Turkey special meal was lukewarm. Should have ordered water because soda was not good, too much syrup. The only thing I can say is it was quiet, service was good & french fries were very crispy & tasty. Prices are not conducive for the quality. I understand it is a "local place" but it is almost unwelcoming to new residents. Would think they would want & need need business, was not busy. Basic hometown menu, the food is subpar to say the least, The specials are certainly overrated, and all selections are way overpriced when compared to other cute eating venues in our county. So while the scores on this restaurant appear high i believe they are being over-scored by the regulars here- the kind of place you walk in and everyone looks to see who it is. Service and facility was fine but the food was horrible. For $40 we ordered the Irish burger and my wife ordered the wings. The irish burger came out soaked in butter with a flat over cooked hamburger- the fries were good. The wings were way to bready, over fried and not much meat. If your looking for bar fried food this place may be fine but for those looking for good quality food- don't recommend. First time yelp reviews let us down- very disappointingly! read more

Vernas is a great little breakfast spot. Located in the airport at Millville the kids (and daddy) enjoy watching the planes land and take off before and after enjoying our meal. Quaint little place is always packed but the service is quick and friendly. The breakfast is great and I tried the club sandwich on our second visit and it was very good as well. Reminds me of the places my parents took me as a kid. I love having breakfast here. There is no alcohol served but, meh, so what. In the warmer months there are outdoor dining areas where you and can sit and watch the air traffic. The servers are very sweet and friendly. Decided to stop by for breakfast with my wife. Have been a few times with friends for breakfast and have enjoyed the food in the past. It's a small place themed around the local airport and it's WWII heritage. It's family-owned and has that homegrown feel, seems like the type of place that has a lot of local regulars. The food is good and simple, eggs, bacon, ham things like that, comfort food. I ordered the hungry pilot which is 2 eggs, a pancake, home fries, toast and a meat of your choice( bacon in my case) everything was good food-wise and the service was also good. It's a good small-town diner for breakfast if you want something off the beaten track. They do serve lunch but I've never had lunch here. I ordered pancakes and eggs with home fries and toast. It' seems like a small local establishment that everyone knows about, but me I guess. But what's the saying...if you didn't know, now you know! I do plan to go back because it's about the closest place to my job where a delicious breakfast can be made that isn't fast food. While I waited for my food people were flowing in. Very few came alone. I actually believe I caught a glimpse of Verna herself. This place is a gem. My eggs and potatoes were not dripping with oil or extra crispy. I was made with care. The mood even from the kitchen was quiet. The folks RIGHT NEXT TO ME were whispering and I couldn't hear them. No forks or spatulas clinking together. Previously, I've had food catered by Verna's Flight Line, but this past week I had my first opportunity to eat on site. I regret it took me so long to finally eat there. Verna's location is a little odd... a non-local may have difficulty finding it. It's at the Millville Airport just feet away from the runway. Ironically though, I'm not sure that it's airport traffic they're catering to because Verna's appears to cater to locals. Verna's serves inexpensive, quality homestyle fast-food in a casual atmosphere. It's the type of place that provides that elusive, surreal all-American atmosphere that so many places fail to accomplish. They know their customers by name and provide friendly, but low-key, speedy service. The restaurant is clean, simple and adorned with airport memorabilia. Prices are very inexpensive and the food of good quality and portions appropriate. The menu is mostly of the fast-food variety, sandwiches and homemade soups. The specials of the day are, of course, a good bet. I chanced to try the cold meatloaf sandwich and it was a winner! For $3.95 I got a humoungo sandwich that I couldn't finish. Verna's is only open for breakfast and lunch. They close at 2pm. Available for catering. read more

The best food in the world, and the nicest people ever highly recommend it service is great. They even have a public bathroom.

Good little restaurant with some really decent American diner type food. I had a Taildragger cornbeef sandwich which was decent and the coleslaw is incredible. My mother had the chipped beef because we stopped there at around 11 when they were serving breakfast and lunch. She said the cream chipped beef on toast with potatoes was really good. The lobster bisque is also pretty decent. The crowd was coming in so it's definitely a good spot for a nice lunch. read more

It has been nearly three years since I have been to Verna's. Glad to see not much has changed. The staff was great, kitchen was quick and the food was good. This is good old diner style food for the most part and it is well done. Many locals and pilots who fly in. I had the P-47 burger. It was cooked medium, was a good size with a nice bun and vegetables. The fries were crinkle cut and very hot and crispy. I really enjoyed the meal and Verna herself was there to take our payment with a smile. I highly recommend going here. read more

I moved from Millville to California almost thirty years ago. While I loved every minute of my life in California, there was always something missing. Today I had breakfast with my mom and my niece at Verna's Flight Line and realized what was missing. Great food at real places with good people that make you feel welcome. From the minute we walked in we were greeted with smiles and warm welcomes. While we were deciding on what to have we were discussing the lack of good sausage gravy in California. Then, out of nowhere, Verna herself comes to our table with a sample of her delicious sausage gravy. We ordered a variety of breakfast plates, including the biscuits and gravy and everything was delicious and plentiful. The service was fast and friendly without being overbearing. The restaurant is in an old airport building and there are amazing photos of the history of Millville Airport. If you live in Millville, you probably already know. If not, go to Verna's Flight Line for a great meal and great people. You won't be disappointed. read more

You wouldn't know about this little treasure unless someone tells you about it. I'm lucky that someone did. It didn't disappoint. The restaurant was tucked away in quiet remote part of an airport. The building was old and had a lot of nostalgia, history, and stories of when it was used by the US Military. That's the beauty of this place. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. Very warm and friendly staff. We weren't regulars but many of their customers were and got greeted like family. I ordered a stack of Banana pancakes and a side of sausage links. I was warned the pancakes were huge and a stack might be much. There was the option of ordering pancakes individually. I can eat like I'm going to the electric chair so I went with the stack. Each of the three pancakes were the size of a large dinner plate. They had the right amount of bananas cooked inside. I did a very good job. I ate about 2/3 of the entire amount. I got compliments on my attempt. The 3 links were tasty but cooked a while ago. As a coffee snob, I would say the coffee was ok. My co-worker ordered the chicken wrap with fries and ate everything. The prices were very reasonable and needless to say my portion was tremendous. I would say if you're visiting Millville or the immediate area, this is a must for breakfast or lunch. This is a great little breakfast place we found following a full weekend at the Motorsports Park. It is hidden out among buildings near an airport. Despite its secret location there was a line out the door for breakfast time on a Sunday. We called ahead and they were nice enough to reserve a table for us so we got in pretty quick. I got a bacon and mushroom omelette, which was too big for me to finish. My boyfriend got the country fried steak and eggs, a Sunday special. That platter was also very large and took some effort to finish. We were completely stuffed and for a reasonable price. The waitresses were great. They were attentive and super nice. This place is definitely worth a stop. It was key in curing our post-race (12 hour endure) hangover and fueling us for our long drive back to Connecticut. read more

Verna's is such a cool little place. It is in a awesome location and it is in a Barracks building from WWII and there is history everywhere around it. Don't forget the food though, the prices are INSANELY low and you still get a lot of food and it is all so good! We went there for lunch on July 2nd. We enjoyed the burgers, fries and drinks and had a nice seat for two by a window. There are two main rooms. The first room includes the counter, cashier and some tables. The second room also has tables. The décor has a variety of pictures, posters, maps, and even two propellers. It's been a while since we have been there for breakfast, but I would go again. It's fun watching the planes and helicopters. read more

It's always the path least traveled that makes the experience more enjoyable. 1) Plug KMIV (Millville Municipal Airport) into the GPS prior to departure. 2) Depart KOQN (Brandywine Airport) on Runway 27 3) Enjoy the Philadelphia skyline to the left and the countryside below. 4) Land safely at KMIV and park the plane next to the Flight Line Restaurant. 5) The friendly staff will seat you in the airplane motif decor concrete bunker. 6) The breakfast menu has an aviation theme with reasonable pricing. 7) After a great sausage and eggs breakfast, we climbed back into the plane and punched in KOQN into the GPS for the return trip home. You don't need an airplane to visit this hidden jewel. But a plane helps! read more
