When I lived in the Bay Area I would always see Jimboy's commercials, however we didn't have Jimboy's and I always curious as to where they were located. When I moved to the Sacramento area in 2007 and saw Jimboy's I pulled right into the lot and shimmied right on in to try the tacos and I've been hooked ever since. The service has always been good for the most part and they have a decent salsa bar when you go inside. The tacos are flavorful and nice and crispy. This is probably one of the better locations in Sac imo. The dining area is small but it and seat a decent amount of people. I've always taken my food to go. Pretty disappointed with Jimboys today. I was excited to try lunch out as I hadn't eaten here before but they let me down. The menu reminded me of taco bell but the items looked better and more fresh. $16 order for the combo (taco and enchilada) seemed to high but I wanted to try it out. This is actually my favorite gym boy's taco Location? I do like the one on 28th St. in Midtown but this one has the shrimp Diablo taco and I just die for that. Always have the salsa bar stocked and taco sauces lemons onions, hot sauce for you to select if you so choose. Staff is always nice and the food is always consistent. I love the pink sauce and cheese on the dab la taco. It is about five bucks but so worth it. I also just get the standard bean and cheese children's burrito which they crisp up on the fryer and it's just perfect size for me. Walk out of there for about eight bucks. First off I want to say that I have never had an issue with the food at any of the Jimboys in Sacramento. Today however after the service I got, I won't be going back to this location. I placed my order at 12:35 this afternoon and my p/u # was 36, I sat patiently waiting right by the food delivery area because I was taking it to go. Within about 5 minutes the lady called 37 and a few minutes later she called 38. I watched the two orders come out and get picked up by the customers that ordered them. I thought okay my order should be next, then 5 minutes later they call 40 and again I see the customer take their order. Then she called 41and after waiting 20 minutes I was no longer feeling patient. The lady could see that I was getting inpatient and she said yours is coming. I asked her why she delivered everyone else before my order when I had been there before all the other customers and had been waiting 20 minutes for my order? She said your #39 your next, I let her know that I was not #39 I was #36 and had been patiently waiting while watching them put everyone else's orders out. She looked at me and said very accusatory "You already got your order"! I most certainly had not and I letter her know it, then she said then someone else took it! I can't believe the amount of incompetence and ignorance this women displayed as she looked me in the eye and boldly lied to my face. I told her that I had been sitting there the whole time and I watched every single order come out for pick up and no one took anything that they did not pay for!!! Therefore she did not make my order and wanted me or someone else in the room to get take the blame for her error. I let her know that what she just did; trying to blame someone else, was a lie and I wont come back for this type of service. And of course in true ignorance as I left she said "GOOD" so yeah, she is right I'm good. What happened to this place? My tacos were dark brown, and had a whisper of cheese. All the food was soaked in oil. My bean burrito was undercooked as the tortilla was "gummy" and was similar to the texture of the beans. No cheese could be found. The place mostly looks the same, but the cooking was poorly done. My second time eating Jimboy's Tacos, first time paying for it. I love the story behind the founder & his wife of the food chain, but being that it's fast food, I don't love the cost. Today I enjoyed a regular ground beef taco and a carne asada taco. There was very little meat. Cost $8 and I was still hungry after eating the wrappers. For me, if it's going to cost more than that to be full, it has to be better than fast food. The salsa bar was well-stocked and on ice. The onions weren't the freshest, but you can't always expect perfection. The cashier was nice enough. The restaurant was clean. I wouldn't say I'm never going back, because the parmesan cheese lined taco shells are yummy, but I'm not too inclined to return. BTW, I didn't eat the wrappers, just demonstrating a point. LOL! Back home Jimboy's has amazing fish tacos, so while in Sacramento I thought I'd see if that was company wide. This site offers amazing speed when getting your food out to you. The food was hot and the cheese I asked for was there. The tacos were tasty but oily. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The booths are a bit small. I'm a Sacramento native, and Jimboys has been a staple since I was in Junior High School. I'm not the best person to ask about the menu, as I've been eating the same things for 22 years( 2 ground beef tacos, with sour cream, onions, and picante sauce). Every single location makes it the exact same way so you always feel like they KNOW you. Location is always clean, cashier and cooks are super polite, and its typically crowded. It shares the parking lot with Starbucks. Some time is hard to find a parking space at the lunch hour. Foods are average. Not very oily as some Jimboy's Tacos in the area. I don't like leaving negative reviews. But the employees are very rude. Unfriendly and sloppy. Nobody's wearing gloves -making food and using the cash register straight to the grill.
