Jimmy Johns - this was my college go to sandwich shop. Still as good as ever. And so fast! Jimmy Johns overall has great food. It's just as great to have one so close to NW Austin! The JJ's off 183 and Anderson Mill/McNeil area definitely delivers fast and always gets their orders right. I didn't even know there was one up here until I randomly saw it driving north on 183. My favorite sandwiches are the Gargantuan (as an "un-wich - no bun), and the Italian Nightclub. read more

My clinic is near by and on multiple occasions where a working lunch (at 1:30 not lunch rush) was happening it took 45 mins to get a sub across the highway and it was still wrong. I just don't get it. I hear good things about Jimmy John's but I have yet to be impressed. I pay $5 for a sandwich and it is the saddest excuse for a sub I have ever seen.Two slices of thin tasteless bread one slice of turkey meat and some lettuce. meh. Fairly standard sandwiches, not quite the variety that I'd prefer but the delivery and lettuce-wrap options make up for it. The delivery speeds are usually as good as advertised but additional paid-for addons on the delivered sandwiches have been missing on more than one occasion. Sad. I know that any business during covid has their stressors. But making sure to exclude ingredients is SO important especially when it comes to allergies. They forgot a straw, napkins, and to cut the sandwich in half (all that were printed on the receipt as I requested them) and there were ingredients I asked to exclude due to allergies. I couldn't eat it. After calling I didn't ask for a refund or a new sandwich but just to inform... whoever answered the phone seemed less than apologetic. I ordered the Vito, unwhich style, with cherry peppers... Not only were the flavors on point, but the wrap itself was huge! It held together very well, and I was stuffed after eating it (no chips). We just had a great customer service experience with this location. Our sandwiches were delivered quickly but two of them were made wrong. I called the store and it turned out we actually ordered the wrong thing. Despite the fact it was our fault, they made us new sandwiches and raced them here. Today I put in an online delivery order for 2 sandwiches and 2 chips from Jimmy John's at 13429 Research Blvd, Austin, TX (this comes out to $15 and I normally give a $5 tip on top of that). I called the sandwich "bacon on the side" and then called immediately after I hit submit to confirm they would put the bacon on the side for my sandwich but was told by the gentleman 'we can't do that'. While I was still speaking, the guy apparently handed the phone to a manager because the voice was totally different. I realized I was speaking with someone else and started over. He also told me they can't put bacon on the side. I explained I had this issue a long time ago and at that time they finally figured out they could do this after the manager checked with his manager. He still refused and said we can't put the bacon on the side. I told him to cancel my order and I won't be ordering from them again. He confirmed the order and said he would cancel it. I was being nice on the phone, but this is ridiculous. Normally I order the JJBLT with bacon on side, add avocado; extra lettuce; extra tomato; extra sprouts. Normally they put the bacon in the outer wrapping with the sandwich or they wrap it by itself in paper. I like crispy bacon and they don't have a microwave or way to make it crispy. I don't mind microwaving the bacon myself, but If you pull the avocado covered bacon off the sandwich and microwave it - the bacon doesn't get crispy because the avocado sticks to it. It is silly that something so simple as putting the bacon on the side cannot be done. I had this happen once before in April, 2011. At that time, I filled out the Jimmy John's online form and told them what happened. I got a call back from the store manager apologizing for my negative experience and said they can definitely do this and will ensure all his staff is aware - and gave me a free sandwich. I hadn't had an issue with it again until now. I'm writing Jimmy John's again, but this time I'm letting them know not to bother calling me or sending a free sandwich - I just won't be ordering from them again. This is a waste of my time and I'm very disappointed in their poor customer service. read more

I enjoy the Jimmy John's near my house, this JJ's is kind of a mess! I went around 2PM for a quick sandwich and while I'm use to a super quick sandwich maker, it wasn't here. It actually took a while for my sandwich to be made....then they gave it to the wrong person. They handed it to a guy that quickly returned it when he realized the order ticket was not the ham sandwich he wanted. So I'm looking for a seat because they have a girl mopping the floor, I realized she is mopping because something is dripping from the ceiling! Jimmy John's is great. Lettuce wrap is awesome as long as you order extra meat or the gargantuan.. I got the club lulu and it seemed really sparse nor was I crazy about the bacon quality. I ordered the hunter's special with vito meat and also the jj gargantuan in lettuce wraps and they were awsome. So bottom line, you might be hungry if you don't order extra meat on your lettuce wrap. I just ordered a sub around 12 noon for delivery to my workplace. Although they tout the whole "freakishly fast subs" delivery time I decided to cut them some slack and give me almost an hour to deliver my sub (it was peak lunch time after all). After not hearing back for a full hour, I called the guys up and asked them whether it's on it's way to which the guy says "Sorry sir our system is down we're not sending out any orders". Are you kidding me? How about notifying me in some way. After getting transferred to the manager "Chris", he says "Sorry our server is down" and then proceeds to confirm my EXACT order along with my phone number and email. There was no presence of mind regarding my payment, if it had gone through, whether I was going to get my sub at all today, or what my options were. He just sat there saying "Honestly I don't know what to tell you". That's just what an overworked and starved employee wants to hear around lunchtime. If he knew what exactly I had ordered and even had my contact information he could have done 1 of 2 things: place the order and send it out for delivery, or just call me apologizing for the inconvenience. Instead, he just decided to twiddle his thumbs and not give a damn about the customer. I'm blaming him because he was in a position to improve matters even though there were technical difficulties but he choked out either because it was too much pressure or he doesn't deserve his job. UPDATE: I just called the manager "Chris" back to give him some rope and let him explain why despite the fact that he had my contact information and order details I wasn't given an explanation for a full hour. His response? "Sir by the second you called it came back up partially". Too bad for him that I work in tech and understand how these things work, and that his explanation is a bogus way of covering up his sheer incompetence. At least he could have been honest and said "I'm sorry man it didn't occur to me, here's a sandwich on us the next time" but he decided to lie. if I could give this location negative stars I would. I like Jimmy John's but every OTHER time I order a sandwich it is WRONG. My fiancé used to work for Jimmy John's and he says it is literally insane how often they get things wrong here. The last sandwich I ordered was supposed to come with hot peppers, when it did not arrive with afore mentioned peppers I called to have them re-make the sammie. Well, after my new sammie was delivered (plus another tip for the delivery guy) I got a call from the "MANAGER" telling me that there actually were peppers on my sammie....and I quote "you know those GREEN and RED things under the lettuce" uuuuh, yeah jimmy johns manager, because I LOVE waiting 20 more min for a new sammie....never again. I order regularly from JJ when on travel in Austin - and it never fails... I order mustard packets and rarely receive - it is a hassle to call and report - so I ordered the #5 Vito yesterday / delivered with NO mustard packets / ordered the #5 Vito today (yes, I love the sandwich!) and again asked for mustard packets / order arrived and low and behold a mayonnaise packet! The food is decent and consistent. It's always fast and just how I order it. However, what I saw in one of their delivery cars pretty much ensures that I will never have them deliiver to me. Everything but the driver's seat was covered in trash. Cans, cups, empty food containers, and who knows what else was everywhere. The thought of my food sitting in that car sickens me. I know that's not the direct responsibility of the store, but when I delivered food when I was younger we had to maintain certain standards...looks like that's not the case. This has got to be the worst sandwich shop that exists around town. I decided to get sandwiches for dinner since it was hot outside and I didn't want to cook. I was called about 10 min after I placed an online order and was told they were running behind. I said thats ok and brushed it off. I waited 40 minutes for my order. When it finally arrived my order was wrong wrong wrong. At that moment i was pretty irritated. I called and spoke to the "manager" who sounded 15 and was told if I wanted a refund they would have to come back and pick up the whole order since she cant refund only 2 of 4 sandwiches that i ordered.
