They just started their draft Hofbrau Oktoberfest yesterday, and it was perfect. We ordered the sausage sampler, the meatball appetizer with the red cabbage, and the chicken schnitzel with jagersaus. We would come back for the schnitzel with jagersaus and red cabbage. We went to Germany earlier this year, and this reminded us of some of the great food we had there. Compared to other bier gartens or bars at the same price point, this place really delivers.

By that point, I was completely put off and declined the replacement. I understand mistakes happen, but cleanliness at a bar should be the bare minimum, especially when it comes to drinkware. Unfortunately, this experience ruined the visit for me and I won't be returning.

This visit I decided to try the fried fish sandwich (made with halibut) with onion rings and french fries and my friend, a Houston native who had never been here, went for the Schleppy Joe with onion rings. These sandwiches were stunning and wonderful. I saved half for to go so I could have their classic New York Cheesecake... the best in the city. The entire dining experience was top notch, exactly the experience I always have. Ziggy knows how to make the customers dining experience an "experience", I have never had a bad one, from the service down to the cleanliness of the entire place. In this review I want to give a special shout out to Beverly, our server, as she was amazing and whom I recommend. She practically read our minds and was an absolute star. Very poor customer service. Received a sandwich with no meat in it but did not discover until I got home. When I called to complain, employee tried to say that it was my fault and that I picked up the wrong sandwich. Manager Erick promised me a refund on my cc and another sandwich. Neither of which happened. Went in another time and told Manager Ben about it and he did not want to be bothered. Poor customer service. I will not patronize this place every again. The right training would have resulted in an apology and another sandwich to replace the one that I PAID for and never got. read more
