I love this place so I had to stop in for some lunch. They offer both indoor and patio seating as well as street and garage parking near. Service was quick and my food was made perfectly. One day I'll venture out but for now the turkey avo salsa Verde sandwich with pomegranate mint lemonade has my heart and my tastebuds. Give it a try if youre in the area.

My friend and I had an early dinner here around 5:15 pm on Thursday. She had been there before but it was my first time. She parked in a nearby lot for $3 and I did the Rice Village complimentary 2 hr parking garage with an easy 2 minute walk to the restaurant. It was not overly busy at the time and I liked how the menu was on a large display before you go to the ordering counter. The staff person who took our order was very nice. I got the sandwich combo with the turkey avo salsa verde & basil pesto shells as a side. My friend got the prosciutto & chicken with a chip bag & mango orange sparkling water can. The drink station is self serve and I saw alot of cool homemade drinks like guava lemonade & pomegranate mint lemonade which I need to try next time. You choose your own seating and scan the QR code on the table to enter your receipt number. The dining area was very cool and nicely decorated with a rope like light structure running down the middle ceiling. There was also a kid friendly table area too. I think I also saw kids eat free on Thursdays. The food came out pretty quickly & we proceeded to devour the sandwiches. My turkey avo had so much flavor and the sourdough bread was perfectly crispy and warm. I even forgot to use my salsa verde dip which had a good little spice if you need more of a kick to the sandwich. I really enjoyed it and definitely need a whole sandwich next time. The pesto shells pastas were delicious and was a filling side option without feeling overly stuffed. My friend similarly enjoyed and ate her whole sandwich. It was a cool place that I would definitely come back soon for!

Delicious easy salad! They have hand crafted drinks also that were SO good I recommend trying them all! They bring the food right to your table, there's QR codes on the tables to let them know where you're seated. The inside was clean and comfy, lots of seating to chose from

For a Sandwich Market, they have an amazing salad! Beyond the bread is the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada - vegetarian (vegan without cheese), crunchy, savory, and smoky in a chipotle vinaigrette. Also noteworthy for their specials, where kids eat free on Thursdays! Feeling better in every day, in every way - mission achieved!

I had heard of this restaurant for a while, but had not been able to try it until recently. It was definitely worth the wait! The menu looked full of great options, and I went with the avocado and quinoa superfood salad. It was so good! The salad was extremely filling and contained, as expected, a generous amount of avocado. The spicy dressing added a pleasant flavor and the quinoa incorporated throughout was delicious. In addition to this, In got the curry quinoa side dish, and was amazed. It was so flavorful and such a fun and unexpected combination. The portion size made it large enough to be a main dish as well. The ordering process was easy and so was pickup, with everyone being pleasant in the lovely restaurant setting. Highly recommend!

Salads or sandwiches or sides, everything is GOOD. I'm a huge fan of their salads, but I got to try their sandwiches for the first time, and it slapped. I shared the banh mi with a friend, and it's not like a typical banh mi, but it still has a similar flavor profile and includes the staple ingredients like the Vietnamese kimchi. The meat was flavorful and tender, and the ingredients all together just complemented each other well. We also got a side of spicy curried couscous, which comes served cold. The spice was subtle, but the curry flavor was prominent. The texture was unique. It was good, but I'd love to try another side! The workers are extremely kind and attentive! The inside is always so lovely. This particular location is in rice village, so parking can be a bit challenging when the area is busy. I ended up parking in the garage with free 2 hour parking.

Super fresh and quality ingredients. This was my first time here and I was super impressed with the quality for the price. I got the half sandwich and tomato basil soup. My sister had a salad and can't wait to come back to get it again! Great spot to pop in for a quick, quality lunch.

Friend and I came here for lunch. We shared a meal with a sandwich and a bowl of soup. The sandwich is full of flavors and the breading is crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside. The soup was also just as delicious. It paired with the sandwich really well. The sandwich also came with a bag of chips, but we didn't eat that. The table and chairs are pretty clean, but I think the chair I had was a little bit wobbly. The waitress checked on us a few times to make sure we're OK. There is also an outside patio so I believe this place may welcome dogs. Parking out front is paid by meter or you could park for free for two hours in the garage or street parking.

Came here after solid core and it was just what I needed light and delicious and came out very quickly. Came here on a Friday at noon and no wait! I got the sandwhich combo it was half a chicken caprese and the side of kale apple rainbow salad! I would definitely come back

They must be having sourcing issues. You used to be able to get a full sandwich and small deli side for about $15. Now a single sandwich is about $17 without any deli side and the medium side is about $6. My usual go to is the chicken prosciutto and it has literally no chicken and no almonds. Picture to show how much chicken was on my sandwich

The people taking our orders were very friendly and our food came out within 10 minutes during a busy lunch rush. The food was very tasty and healthy. The restaurant had cute decoration and some nice outdoor seating.

The location in Rice Village is very convenient, with free 2hrs parking nearby. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. There are indoor and outdoor seating, and an area for kids to enjoy their time (note: 'Kids eat free' on Thursdays; family friendly place!). Staff is very kind. Overall the food here is very FRESH and TASTY! Among new great Chef's creations tried: the Sweet Peach & Goat Cheese Salad and the Street Corn Chicken Sandwich (with a nice spicy note), delicious. Among the fix menu, highly recommend the PERUVIAN STEAK sandwich, Thai Mango Salad and Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada.

Mendocino Farms on Morningside in Rice Village.

I went to Mendocino Farms on Morningside Dr. 2 days in a row (Oct. 1 and 2)while staying at the Westin at the Medical Center. The food is delicious and the staff is amazing. On the 1st visit Andrea G., (Check # 87), was friendly and knowledgeable about all the sandwich options. She helped me merge 2 sandwiches based on my husband's likes and dislikes. I promised her I'd be back the next day because of the great food and service. My husband is a fan now. On October 2, the great service continued with Deyshinna (Ck. #103) who took my order. I mentioned the day before's service and she asked who my server was. I promised I'd check my receipt and write a review. It's our top sandwich destination in Houston. My first Mendocino Farms visit was in Mountainview, CA. I was happy to hear of their location in Houston. Their salads are incredible.

Chicken Parm Dip was just okay.

Wow! Just... wow…read more Loved this place from the moment I walked in! Ambiance was super fun and welcoming. The tubs of ice filled with cold drinks all around as you approach the counter was casual and fun. And the staff was welcoming and friendly. The menu had so much variety, without being overwhelming. Anything from a good pazole, to a brisket Rueben, to an American Italian sandwich! I got the báhn mì sandwich, which was bursting with flavor! The pork was seasoned well and had good flavor from the marinade. The cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeno, all were so fresh and vibrant! And I was able to get homemade chips and fresh strawberries as my side - such a refreshing bite the strawberries after a rich, porky, spicy bite from the sandwich. Can't say enough good! Loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat!

Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.

In a word, the food was in the pedestrian class of places that I would have picked. Looking at the menu beforehand I looked for something that the restaurant couldn't screw up. My three choices were Meatloaf with mash potatoes and green beans, Chicken Fried Steak with mash potatoes and green beans, and Chicken Pot Pie with yes you guessed it. Melvin went for the meatloaf, Brad chose a meat and chicken kabob that I hope was better than it looked, and my wife, a.k.a.,Love Muffin chose the trout that was smothered with Pineapple salsa and other stuff Personally, I don't like food that is smothered in anything. The food, as I expected, was mediocre. The waitstaff were very friendly, polite, and came right away after noticing all our waving hands that were visible over a lot of empty tables.
