Then I noticed the name of the store operator, Andy Gallawa, on my receipt. I found Andy on LinkedIn and sent him a direct message explaining what had happened. The very next morning, I received an amazing response. Andy apologized not only for the missing salad, but also for the fact that the restaurant hadn't made things right when I called. He told me he wanted to resolve it with as little effort from me as possible and had refunded my entire order. But what impressed me most came next. Andy told me he had watched the video to see where they missed and would be coaching his team to reduce gaps like this in the future. That's outstanding customer service. Mistakes happen. What separates great businesses from everyone else is what they do after the mistake. Andy didn't make excuses. He listened, took responsibility, fixed the problem and used it as an opportunity to improve his team. I immediately wrote him back and thanked him for going above and beyond.
