Double meat? Yah I don't think so
    Stephanie C.

Ok - I normally love this place- except today I paid for double meat and didn't get it- and had paper in my sandwich The staff is super great however- just crappy sandwich today with the paper and not the meat amount I paid for.

A surprise cookie with a sweet note. Thank you!

Jimmy John's makes their own bread fresh, which I think is cool. They also sell day-old bread for a nice little price. Today we ordered two sandwiches to go and it was ready in a jiffy. The ingredients are always fresh and nicely seasoned. They even added a cute little extra, which we were pleasantly surprised to find. Thank you! Kent Jimmy John's!

However, there are times, you just want a bahn mi, or something quick to grab - a very Vietnamese thing. Where can you go? Enter, Renton Deli! Renton Deli, located in the Renton Highlands neighborhood, IS NOT a western/American deli. It is very much a Vietnamese deli with an all Vietnamese menu. There is no Pho to be had here. However, there are some quintessential Vietnamese grab and go classics that are here. Noodles (i.e. Bun) with sausages, Hum bao, and of course lots of Vietnamese style desserts. However, if a bahn mi is what you are looking for, look no further. There is pulled chicken, grilled pork and tofu available. Please be advised, this is not a fast process. You will be waiting at least 10-12 minutes for your sandwich. Longer if there is a line. But that's okay. Plan accordingly, as these sandwiches are made to order, and hot. Don't forget to grab some soda's in the case behind you to finish the experience. Add Renton Deli to your routine of great grab and go cuisine in our fair city of Renton.

I walked out hand-released into a new dimension of flavor, texture, and spiritual clarity. The moment you enter, the scent alone performs a full-body hand release on your soul. Cardamom, sesame, and dreams swirl in the air like edible incense. The décor? A cozy blend of Anatolian charm and deli swagger. I felt like I'd been hand-released from Seattle drizzle into Istanbul sunshine. Let's talk food: * The simit? A sesame-crusted halo of joy. One bite and I hand-released my skepticism about circular carbs. * The börek? Layers of pastry so delicate, I whispered "hand release" with every chew. * The lamb pide? A canoe of savory perfection that hand-released me from all previous notions of pizza. * And the baklava? Oh sweet mercy. It was a honey-soaked hand release into dessert nirvana. I considered legally changing my name to Pistachio. Non-Turks, non-locals, non-delicates--this place is for YOU. Turkish Bakery & Deli is a hand release from bland sandwiches and sad pastries. It's a flavor embassy where every bite is a diplomatic mission of delight. You don't need to know what sucuk is. Just trust the spice and let the hand release happen. The tea? Served in tulip glasses that practically chant "hand release" in Turkish. I sipped, I sighed, I forgave my ex. The staff? Warm, witty, and fluent in the language of joy. One of them hand-released a tray of delights onto my table and I nearly proposed. Go. Eat. Hand release your palate. Let Turkish Bakery & Deli show you what flavor diplomacy really means.

My bf reminds me of this store we randomly came across one day. It has what the store in Lakewood has but more grocery options. Cute and homey store. I spent about 30mins+ give or take shopping for the family. There are many options of trinkets, chocolates (alcohol ones too) , drinks, mustards, curry ketchups, gummy candy, bread, gravy etc. I did notice they don't carry any Maggie products for gravy and such. I know that was my bro's first question as he prefers that brand lol. The staff is really kind. The deli dude was patient with me as I told him I have a lot to order. I met the female owner and she's a sweetheart. The cashier lady was also so helpful as I couldn't find a specific brand candy. She pointed me in the right direction and luckily there was enough :) There's plentiful parking in the lot, and can get pretty cramped when busy as it's not a big store but has many options. My basket total in my picture provided is $255. My brother in law asked me to take them here next time they're in town as there's so much to look at.

When I pulled into the parking lot, it was just me. Within minutes (not kidding) the shop and parking lot was filled with other customers. And no, I did not shine the bat signal, lol. Clearly this is a major destination for German centric goods. I wandered the aisles and found items I haven't seen since being a German exchange student in Tuttlingen and visiting the long shuttered Continental Store European Delicatessen in Seattle's University District on Roosevelt. Talk about nostalgia. I also heard that Bavarian Meats changing hands no longer represents its previous quality. I found Spezi, Milka and Ritter chocolates, and of course, queued up at the deli counter for fleischsalat and leberkase. The gentleman behind the deli counter kindly answered my questions. Most of the deli items are handmade onsite. The woman at the register was so welcoming and spoke positively at length about the awesome couple from Berlin who set up shop - celebrating 65 years married and this October 2025 they will celebrate 50 years in business! Love hearing these kind of stories about indie, family-run businesses. Highly recommended visit while in Burien!

I would almost call it serendipity, but I was certainly searching for something, I just didn't know exactly what. I had a day off and had spent the earlier part of it wandering, looking for any remaining independent produce stands, butcher shops, or just something that felt like it would nourish and heal me because I had been feeling....well? physically, emotionally, existentially, and psychologically, like absolute crap. Historically I've spent years independently studying nutrition and biochemistry, herbalism and traditional medicine, but over the years I'd strayed from those things and lost my way. All this to say I may have forgotten some things but I recognize when someone else knows their stuff. I wandered into Sunshine Corners, originally for a good sandwich and maybe some produce. What immediately struck me was how comforting this place was, and how much it felt like the old school apothecaries or coop's before they became adulterated by mainstream capitalist influences. Stay with me here. I overheard Tony talking to one of the people at the front desk and immediately realized "ok, that guy knows his stuff". Meekly, when he had a moment, I walked over to him and basically, in a sort of desperate manner, laid out my litany of aches and pains and mysterious ailments, expecting an abrupt hand waving answer. That is not what I got. Tony spent what might have been somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour with me, patiently asking me questions and pulling out reference literature. He recognized things in me that no one else had been able to see, and pointed me in a direction that has allowed me to focus on actually getting better rather than just collapsing in frustration. Tony, if you're reading this, the time you spent helping me meant so much to me. Your years of wisdom made a huge impact, but more importantly, your humanity.
