Hands down the worst service and sandwich I've ever had at any of these locations. I came in on 6/7 around 4pm. Let me start with the guy at the register. He was a bit smug, sarcastic, couldn't be bothered to explain what options I had to substitute, didn't offer me a combo before assuming I only wanted the sandwich and ringing me up for it. I basically did his job for him. It was the most uncomfortable and unpleasant exchange honestly. I picked potato salad for my side to which he told me I could grab myself out of the fridge in front of me. I looked,, and said, there isn't any. He begins to describe what the container would look like as if I'm incapable of recognizing a container of potatoes. At that point the gentleman behind me even interrupted and said, there's no potato salad in there man. So my advice would be, remove that guy from the register. He is your face of Jimmy John's and he sucked. Moving on.. the sandwich. It was DISGUSTING. From the moment I opened the wrapper I was put off by the smell off something sour. Like spoiled meat. Something just didn't sit right. The bacon was burnt, there was lettuce when I asked for none. I'm so unhappy with this entirely that I don't think I'll ever return given all the other choices I have here in Modesto for far better quality, customer service, and vibes. My advice, DRIVE PAST THIS PLACE! That's why the place is almost always empty. read more

There has been a noticeable change/decline in service and quality of product. Staff frequently does not give you all the items you order, so check your order prior to leaving the store or drive thru. Commonly, if things look dirty from the outside, I'd almost guarantee you, that its just as dirty on the inside. Pay attention to details, if you can't do the little things right, there's no way your doing the big things right. read more

I like an Italian herb or sourdough or a Dutch Crust for my sandwiches, so a little disappointed here. Absolutely pathetic excuse for a sandwich. They have the nerve to call this sandwich the ULTIMATE Porker. There's nothing ultimate about this sandwich. There were 2 razor thin slices of ham and one tiny strip of bacon. They didn't even try to make it look better by putting more lettuce, the layer of white lettuce was about as thin as the mayonnaise spread. Definitely not going to be a return visit from myself. Ordered 2 sandwiches. One had 3 ingredients: turkey, bacon and lettuce. I mean seriously, how did you forget to put turkey on a turkey sandwich???? The other had other things that I did not order, and one pickle lol!.. . Also cutting it in half, and getting napkins, although requested, was apparently asking too much. Called to ask for a refund, not going back tonight as have plans and definitely don't want a credit. They were not willing to refund, although I offered to bring the sandwich back. How kind of them to tell me I could keep the sandwich. Look Jimmy John, your place is already dead everytime I drive by, this isn't how you keep customers showing up. If you visit this place hope you have better luck. I tried this place when they first opened. My friend got a regular sub and I got the veggie one. My "six-inch" sub was about 5." When I asked why the difference? The response was "that's how we make them." Understood and never been back. My wife and I visited Jimmy John's for the first (and last) time recently. We both ordered the Turkey avocado and double cheese sandwiches. The sandwiches were made quickly and we went up to the counter to pick them up. As I sat down I opened my sandwich to see how it was built and quickly noticed that it was missing the avocado. My wife's sandwich was also missing the avocado, so we went back up to the counter to show them. We were told that the avocado was "between the cheese". I peeled the cheese slices apart and there was the very least amount of avocado spread you could get away with and still claim that there was avocado on the sandwich. It didn't even make it to the edge of the cheese. The Turkey was sadly the same way, barely there. The one thing the sandwich had plenty of was shredded lettuce. Service was quick and the ambiance was clean and comfortable. I feel that when I complained about the avocado they could have offered to add some more but that did not happen. If I could give this place zero stars I would! I have ate here a couple times. The first time was really good but the last three times there has been something missing or none of the directions were followed when making the sandwiches. I tried to give multiple chances for them to get it together but obviously that's not gonna happen. Today was my last day ever coming to this location, Placed an online order and picked it up and we open up the sandwiches and my fiancé has nothing that I requested on the order and mine is missing a whole meat (Turkey) that was supposed to be on the sandwich. We called and asked for the manager and they told us to hold and then the same guy comes back and says "oh I forgot I am the manager today" (what the heck lol). We told him What sandwich I got and that it was supposed to come with roast beef and turkey and I was missing the turkey. He then says you can come back and we will give you a couple pieces of roast beef so he obviously was not listening to anything we were saying we basically just hung up and said we won't eat there anymore.......so disappointing! Living in and around Philly for 8 years, I changed my expectations for sandwiches. It's difficult to meet those expectations. Before moving back to California, I was in an area that had a few Jimmy John's locations. I didn't go. Their advertising was all about how amazing they were--yadda yadda yadda. Yesterday, I thought I'd stop. I've been exploring more lately, tired of the same, old places. There were no customers. That's not a good sign. I thought that it would be spotless and it wasn't. Maybe, one of them had been taking a break at a table. Things happen. I was greeting nicely. As I was checking the menu, I saw the roast beef sub sandwich. I asked about brown mustard and/or horseradish sauce--if you've had roast beef around Philly, you'll understand. Neither was available. I ended up choosing the Vito--an Italian sub, and got a fountain drink. $8.32 for both. That's not bad, but it's an 8 inch sub for $5.99. That's a smaller sandwich than Subway sells and it's a little more expensive than Quizno's 4 inch. The sandwich is better than you could get from Subway but not as good as those from Quizno's. Is big better or is taste better? I choose taste. The sandwich was cold. I was somewhat amused that you can't go five feet without seeing Jimmy John's, JJ, or Jimmy's. What I could not find were the napkins. Seating was adequate and a table or two was available for people using wheelchairs. read more

I tried JJ's for the first time last month and we ordered the #7 spicy east coast Italian. The cold cuts were so good and not salty. Everything about the sandwich was so delicious and packed with so much ingredients. The bread is soft and delicious and all the ingredients are fresh! Ever since we tried this place we've been coming here almost weekly or every other week because it's so addicting. The sandwich is so long 16 inches and good enough for 3 people. She was extremely rude and didn't even try and hide it. I get you were probably upset we came close to closing time, but at the end of the day we our the customers and our bringing in income to your shop. NO CONCERN FOR OPEN FOOD WHILE CLEANING IN FOOD PREP AREA! Two weeks ago I wrote to Jimmy John's Corporate (which simply and automatically relayed my message to the owners and management) to inform them of how their staff failed to keep their open food products away from a spray bleach product and from the mopping of the food prep floor while sandwiches were being made. The strong smell of the cleanser and bleach also filled this sandwich shop. When I complained to an apparent manager, she was unfazed. The "Freaky Fast" service died while we were waiting for our order at this Modesto Jimmy John's. It took 18 minutes to receive our order of five sandwiches, and two of them were made wrong. Their website says, "Sandwiches made with love every single day." Don't believe it. There many other options for sandwich shops in Modesto, and apparently no one at Jimmy John's took my written feedback seriously. Don't bother coming to this establishment.
