My only complaint is that they put a little too much mayonnaise. Next time will ask for less mayo. A great free option I appreciated were the sliced cucumbers on the sandwich. Added an extra crunch and flavor to the sandwich. I ordered the sandwich via their app. Which was easy enough to use. Service was good. Ambiance very similar to other sub sandwich places like Subway and Jersey Mike's. Pricing for sandwiches a little higher that the restaurants mentioned earlier. Overall I like them. A very disappointing experience consistently. I was in here a few months ago. poor service. bread stale. I decided to give it another try. I order my sandwich. I sit down at the table and wait patiently for my food. Customer after customer comes in, gets their food and leaves. All ordered after me. i approach the counter and ask if they are still making my sandwich and the guy responds, "oh i made it a while ago. it's sitting over there." Then the young girl who seems to be the shift manager tries to help by explaining, "it is so loud in the store you probably didn't hear us call it out." i am the only person sitting at the tables in the store. waiting. I rarely have been to Jimmy John's, but they were promoting their rewards app. First app purchase and then you can get a free sandwich reward. I think the sandwich taste (I tend to like roast beef and or turkey) was pretty good, and you get plenty of topping and sauce options; the meat tasted fresh. Their prices seem reasonable, little on the lower side because cheese is not always included in the subs, it depends on your choice which is a little confusing. Once you start adding up cheese, avocado as additional items, then the prices are getting high for subs. I would agree that service is what is hit or miss here. When I first ordered, the younger woman was little flustered, even tho there werent other customers, but I think something was going on between workers at the sandwich line. She forgot to ask me my reward#, the main reason I was trying out Jimmy John's, so the whole order had to be voided and re-rung in. That seems highly inconvenient for staff and myself and the original woman never acknowledged or said anything to me. Her manager had to re-ring in the order. She may have been a newer employee. I would return again, as their app is really user friendly and they seem rewards focused. But I generally enjoy Jersey Mike subs but they are higher prices, and they don't have a real rewards program (from what I saw online) read more

First of all, my sandwiches that I ordered were not done correctly. You have a combative manager, that states that she can give an attitude to customers and she refused to fix my situation. She swears that she provided me the correct sandwich and she did not. She didn't Jimmy It Up the sandwiches and there was slim turkey on the number 4 sandwich. As a matter of fact the manager even laughed, displaying that she didn't care that I voiced my concern. Also, the male employee was providing some exposure of skin by having his pants hang down and showing his behind. That restaurant lost its cleanliness and respect for customers. He answered my questions about all the varieties of sandwiches and even suggested a couple. I went back and forth and finally decided on the Beach Club. He tried to up sell on the pickles. Has anyone had them? Are they worth it? I ended up passing on the pickle, but if anyone recommends it I'll be back once more for at least that. My sandwich was made FAST! I bought a 16 inch roast beef sandwich with provolone hold the tomatoes it cost $15.99 out the door. I tried to order this over the Internet but that didn't work so I was walk in. Over the Internet the price was $9.98 per roast beef sandwich adding cheese was going to cost me $1.25 more. So the price should've been $11.23 +tax if they were going to charge me tax. Either way I got a 16 inch sub with one thin layer of beef with a little lettuce and a little cheese and some mayonnaise. I was charged $15.99. No I would expect that would be getting pretty goddamn decent sandwich for 1599. Like maybe like One of the ones in the pictures they put out. I arranged for a lunch for a vendor. There crew starts early, so it was difficult to get lunch picked up and set for them. I spoke with the crew at Jimmy John's and they opened up early and were so kind, open and comforting. They had everything all boxed up and packaged for me and the lunch went great. Checking out Jimmy John's for the first time. My experience was also friendly and helpful employees as I've seen on other reviews. We asked a question about the tuna and they offered us a taste on a cucumber slice. It was fresh and tasty. I always love places that give a sample. They made a suggestion for their two most popular subs, and we took them up on the #9 Italian night club. We said no onions but there were no other questions or customizations offered. After the fact we realized that we should have gotten the hot peppers. The sandwich was ready in a flash (kinda late arrival around 8:15pm). I used to get Jimmy John's in AZ almost everyday. I would always get the tuna slim. And the tuna slim here is still great! For only $6, you get a ton of tuna and on great tasting bread! If you want something a little more on the healthy side, their take on a tuna sandwich is the best! Still doesn't disappoint. Also, if you sign up for their rewards, you get a free sandwich after your first order. And then it's a free sandwich every 3 orders. You can't beat that! read more

I wanted to love Jimmy John's as much as Joey Tribbiani loved his sandwiches on Friends, but I was left with the impression that it was a merely okay sandwich, the bread seemed to overpower the entire sandwich, leaving the ingredients to get lost in the abyss. If you can get past the bread, the ingredients are fresh and the flavors are good. On a positive note what a terrific atmosphere, the employees actually seemed stoked to be there, friendly and helpful and willing to assist you with the menu and point out suggestions if you have any food quirks or allergies, I found it to be upbeat and quirky with it's signage, you can't help stopping and reading the signs as you walk through the shop. My co-worker called me out as a Yelp user and the clerk was happy to show me the bathroom, hence all the pics below. How can you not get caught up in the fun of it all? I ordered the Vito sandwich which consisted of Genoa salami, provolone, capicola, onion, lettuce, tomato and Italian vinaigrette My co-worker ordered the Vegetarian which had provolone cheese, real avocado spread, sliced cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, & mayo. The first time I heard of Jimmy Johns was on Guy's Big Bite on the Food Network last year. So a little back story, every location I have driven by in So Cal was either under construction or there was a banner saying coming soon. Today was the day I went in to the new Ventura location for the Jimmy John experience!! The staff is super friendly and no sooner did I place my order and I paid the sandwich was ready to go! I Ordered the #9 Italian Night Club on french bread with real Genoa salami, Italian Capicola, smoked ham, and provolone cheese all stuffed with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and homemade Italian vinaigrette. (You have to order hot peppers they are not that hot but add a great flavor profile). The store had great ambiance and the food was very good. Worst sandwich I have ever gotten, I ordered the #12 (turkey avocado provolone) lady was very nice, however she never asked what type of bread I wanted or toppings... she just rang me up. Ordered a combo online. After an hour was delivered the sandwich and the drink. Missing the side order of chips, the napkins, the straw, was not cut in half like asked. When called to let them know, I expected a quick intelligent reply of "we will take care of this". Instead was talking to a confused person that did not know what to do and offered to give the chips "next time you order". Which will never happen. Eventually the employee was able to understand that we wanted the missing chips delivered, but they still could not understand the napkins and straw. The delivery driver was super nice, and apologized for the behavior of the coworkers. There are SO MANY OTHER CHOICES, it will be easy to get a good sandwich, from someone else. I was so happy to learn that JJ was in Ventura. I used to eat at one in NC every week for lunch. My sandwich personality: I'm not a fan of Jersey Mikes and when I order at Subway my sandwich is incredibly customized to get the perfect sandwich. This location is clean and the staff is very helpful - I needed help since their menu has changed since my last visit. I ended up ordering the Beach Club and it was perfect. I always order their french bread but contrary to what another reviewer said they have another bread or unbread options. The ratio of fillings is spot on. If you like more meat or cheese than a normal sandwich just order it... there's also freebies like mustard,oregano and vinaigrette you can add on to your liking. It was also pleasant to see the staff busying themselves cleaning/tidying/restocking instead of chit chatting while there was a lull. read more

I love sandwiches and Jimmy Johns was a nice addition to Ventura. Unfortunately, every time I go here they manage to screw up my boyfriends sandwich. He is incredibly picky and likes to have the plainest sandwich possible (meat, cheese, bread only). For whatever reason, the employees here have a really hard time getting that right. So while I sit there loving my sandwich, my boyfriend is having to scrape off mayo or flat out refusing to eat his sandwich. I'm sad to say that I probably won't come to this location anymore as I have wasted a good amount of money on sandwiches that are inedible. I have never been a fan of Subway, so Jersey Mikes has been my go to...was excited to see a new sandwich place not known to be in this area, come to Ventura. Friends from CO raved about Jimmy Johns, that this was their favorite, so was really excited to see it coming to Ventura (even though we move to CO in a few weeks!) Tried it last night, order the Beach Club, and while the staff (kids!!!haha) were friendly and helpful explaining the menu...I wish they had further explained the Jimmy it up, I saw the sign after I sat down. That said, it was made really fast, and just as described. I was told "giant" meant more meat, so was really disappointed at the overall lack of meat. Jersey Mikes has much more in their sandwiches. To me, it was more like Subway, really thin meat portion. I picked up an 8" Vito (#5) today around 11:30 and was both pleased and just a little disappointed. First the good: The employees were super friendly and had my sandwich ready really fast without any loss of quality, I was really impressed with that portion of my visit. The place is really clean and offers outdoor seating under umbrellas, if I hadn't been in a bit of a rush I would have eaten there. It seems like a nice place to sit & have lunch. Now the not so good: Let me preface by saying it wasn't bad, but my sandwich certainly wasn't that great either. The bread was good, the produce and meats seemed fresh, and it was a good size. There wasn't very much meat though, and the sandwich was lacking in flavor. Some black pepper and maybe some mustard would probably fix the blandness, but I've certainly had better subs. The $6.49 for the sandwich alone seems to be a fair price, especially since all of the ingredients seemed fresh and the size of the 8" was plenty for me. I just wish the sandwich had more flavor. I will try again, but would only recommend Jimmy John's with a bit of a caveat regarding the amount of meat and minimal flavor. read more
