I am not a creature of habit when it comes to food, I do love leftovers, but I have a hard time ordering the same thing every time I go somewhere, mostly because I want to be able to test all the options to write better reviews. This is not that place, I have tried other sandwiches, no sandwich can beat #10 (I think it's called the hunter). It's a roast beef sandwich, ordered with extra mayo (I know, not the healthiest), and cut in half (who can eat a whole sandwich!). My boyfriend always gets the #16 add provolone, honestly don't get why anyone would eat anything other than the roast beef. The meat is tender, doesn't have an iron after taste like other places, and the simplicity of mayo, lettuce and tomatoes just works for me. I work near this place and so order from here regularly. Usually the food arrives promptly and as requested, but yesterday I ordered lunch and it still hadn't arrived after 40 minutes had passed. Okay, weird. App said it was still in the process of being made, not even out for delivery. I called the store and spoke to some harrassed-sounding person who said something about the driver and it should be there soon. Called again after an hour with no food. Person said they would send the driver over right away. Called after 90 minutes with no food, except the app said it had been delivered. Don't know where it was delivered, but not to me. Explained this to the person on the phone and asked that my order be cancelled, since my lunch break had long since passed and I'd have to make do with Goldfish. Once I got home from work (around 5 hours after I initially placed the order) I called the store again so I could make sure I would not be charged for the food I never received. The manager offered to send me another meal free of charge, but since I was already home it was a moot point. He then explained that the driver had already clocked out for the day and so had taken his tip, but that he would be calling my credit card company to have the payment cancelled and would let me know once this was done. Over 24 hours later, and have heard nothing. Guess I'm out $12. At least with delivery services like GrubHub they have actual customer service where you can speak to a person and they will promptly fix the issue. I've learned not to order from Jimmy John's again. The food may be fast, but the customer service leaves something to be desired. read more

So I ordered a slim jimmy with turkey and asked for lettuce and no cheese. I then received a delivery of a slim with no lettuce and cheese on it. My daughter is allergic to cheese so I got in my car and drove to the store and went inside and asked if they could remake my daughters sandwich with no cheese and asked if they could put lettuce on for me. The young lady at the counter said the jimmy comes with no sides just turkey. But she already messed up the first time and put cheese on it so I thought it would be nice to add lettuce for me and she was rude and didn't care that I had to drive back to the store to have them fix my sandwich in the first place. Iv been I customer service for 16 years and never felt so little as a customer. However this specific location has a serious problem with the training of its employees with even the most basic of customer service. They are continually rude, messing up orders, and not following delivery instructions. If you have the option from eating from any of the other many restaurants in the merrifield area, I would definitely recommend doing so. I've already frequented this Jimmy Johns a number of times and have been nothing short of impressed every time. The staff is always incredibly kind and helpful. The restaurant is very clean and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. I usually order the Beach Club on wheat bread with "EZ mayo" and "EZ cheese" (less mayo and cheese) for a slightly healthier option. The avocado spread that comes on the sandwich is delicious and adds a great flavor. The "15 minute" parking spots in the garage next door are perfect and the Jimmy Johns door access through the garage is so convenient. The staff is helpful, courteous, and went out of the way to ensure that the order was accurate- and delicious! I got a #1 Pepe and the ingredients are so fresh and bread is out of this world. I had a few special requests and they took care of them without error or hesitation. The quality of sub that you get for the price of $5 for an 8" is unmatched by any other competitor in the area. The web page clearly shows a 8 inch Italian sub on a sub roll and a Italian Cub sandwich in slice bread. So I ordered an Italian club sandwich of course I got a sub. The sandwiches are nice and fresh. The bread is perfect! The only reason I am giving this location 3 stars is because of the lack of friendly service by the delivery guys. Folks in our office place delivery orders often from this location. It's rare that I see any of the delivery folks smile when they deliver an order. Today is a snow day so I may have lucked out looking at other reviews. I work over on Javier and I was hankering for a sammich. I enter through the very convenient parking deck located next door. They are fully staffed at this time (lunch). I walk up, and the young lady asks me what id like, then steps away after she hears it. About 30 seconds later someone rings me up, and as soon as I get my card back I get my sandwich. Like I said before I probably lucked out, however the young lady made my food before she rang me up, which made things a lot more efficient in my opinion. I have had times when I could find no parking space but this time I was there early. But I can't be crazy about a place that offers no hot sandwiches. IMHO opinion a great sub shop must not only offer hot sandwiches but the pinnacle of sandwich-dom, the sausage sub. Comes with tomato sauce and lots of melted mozzarella on top of sauteed onions and green peppers. These are corporate issues, yes. R U listening, Jimmy John's Corporation of America? Tasty subs delivered to you at lightning speed! There was only one occasion where this location took about 20 minutes to deliver my meal- they were short on drivers. I just ordered again from them recently and am re-pleased. I got the turkey slim sub with their regular chips, and a chocolate chunk cookie. Everything tastes great and fresh. I was very please by the outstanding staff at this location! I always order the beach club and am always very pleased with my sandwich no matter what location. On this particular occasion I don't know what came over me, but I accidentally ordered the Hunter's club. I got it to go and when I got to my car (I'm a habitual car eater) I realized they had given me the wrong sandwich (or so I thought)! I went back in, slightly annoyed, and said politely they had made the wrong sandwich. When I realized that they made the right sandwich and I ordered the wrong sandwich, I felt like a real jerk. Positive: quick, less than 60 seconds to get your sandwich. Negative: most of the bread is a sub - baguette style. They do have whole wheat but that bread is so thick and they don't toast. The meat hasn't tasted the freshest (my second time trying them out). Overall, the sandwich is average. I gave two star only because the first time I got a turkey tom and the entire sandwich was filled with mayo...I couldn't even eat it and had to call the store in and I got a store credit, I think? This is my first time any Jimmy John's but i went with a friend who loves their bread. I'm pregnant and in my first trimester so i've been advised to avoid cold deli meat/cold cuts (just to heat them up, no biggy). I asked for the Beach Club and would it be possible to heat up the turkey? I was told that Jimmy John's does not heat up any sandwich. I then asked if it was possible to have the turkey separately so i could heat it up when i got back to the office. I was told that that couldn't be done. I told them i was pregnant and could not eat cold meat, could they help me out. They said no, but then i guess reconsidered a few seconds later and wrapped my turkey separately which i appreciated. So all in all, everything turned out ok and the sandwich was great. I just thought that the quick negative responses to my requests could have been handled differently. read more

Subs are standard. The commercials are way more entertaining to listen to than the subs are to eat!!! I get better subs from Paisonos. Much better. And better service. I had the Italian cold cut and there was more oil than cold cut. Also, the day I went to this restaurant I ordered a combo which comes with a fountain drink. The fountain was not working. Sodas were not mixed, and there was NO carbonation. Even the lemonade was all water. I told the folks behind the counter. After sitting, eating and chatting with my friend for roughly 30 minutes other customers began to come in (I got there at the start of lunch hour) and were purchasing combos. I asked the guy behind the counter if they had fixed the machine and he said , "No." I asked him, "Then why are you selling folks combos with a fountain drink cup when you know that it is not working? People are paying for that and you're not telling them it doesn't work." A gentleman that just purchased his combo meal looked at the employees like "Yeah, WTF?" Then commented, "Yeah, why did you let me pay for something you know I am not going to get?" Simply amazing customer service. After Panera lost my catering order, I immediately called this location. Phone call was under 5 minutes and Terry was very accommodating. Even though I called at peak lunch hours (12pm) my order arrived in under half an hour. Which is really fantastic since I needed lunch for 35 very hungry people!
