I really want to give Jimmy P's a 4. But I can't. In Naples for a quick visit, I needed a quick dinner before heading home. Had a hankering for a steak. So I yelped up and found Jimmy P's. Being a solo diner, I sat at the bar as I usually do. I was greeted promptly and given the menus. Ordered up a glass of red wine, which was fine. I generally ask which by-the-glass offerings are most popular as that typically means they have a fresh opened bottle or at least one that hasn't been sitting for a day or two. My mind was set on a ribeye even before I arrived. The bartender said they had a prime rib daily special which piqued my interest so I flipped to that. Should have stayed with the ribeye. Had a wedge salad because it is one of my favorites prior to enjoying quality beef. I know, iceberg has little nutritional value but the bleu cheese and bacon just pairs well with a crispy wedge of berg. Jimmy P's twists it a little with chunks of pork belly. Now I know that bacon is just cured or smoked pork belly. I liked the twist but would have liked to have the pork belly chopped a little finer. Bacon crumbles are easily incorporated into every forkful. The pork belly chunks were difficult to cut and incorporate into every forkful. It was a nice touch, don't get me wrong. In fact, I liked it better than bacon crumbles. Just work on the execution. I know, I'm a bit picky! LOL The prime rib was tasty and flavorful but not as tender as I would have expected from a higher end joint like Jimmy P's. In fact, as prime rib goes, it was kind of tough. In my mind, prime rib, in fact most quality steaks, should not require anything more than a simple serrated butter knife in order to slice. Not so with this prime rib. I didn't ask for a steak knife as the butter knife was sufficient albeit marginally. Perhaps I have been spoiled as I had the absolute best prime rib at Lawry's in Vegas a couple years ago. If you're ever in sin city, treat yourself. It's well worth it. I'm a snob when it comes asparagus. I would not have put the big, stalky stems on a plate at home that showed up on mine. The tops were tender but not as flavorful as more petite tops. And at least trim off the woody parts at the bottom. In my mind, there shouldn't be anything on a plate that is inedible, unless it's a bone. Will I return to Jimmy P's? Of course I will. I contemplated taking home a couple cuts from their adjacent butcher shop but didn't. Even with my full belly after dining, I was salivating at the sight of their beef case while wandering around prior to leaving. read more

Just getting through the appetizers, and everything is delicious. The scallops were cooked to perfectly, the corn relish served with it is it amazing. The grilled octopus grilled to perfection. We will definitely be back on our next trip up to Germaine! I cant believe this place is in a small shopping center. read more

We made a reservation through Yelp and when we arrived- the restaurant didn't have the reservation. I showed them my confirmation email. They said they would "try" to accommodate us. They began seating other tables and when they did come for us-they sat us at a 12 inch table for 2 that was less than 2 feet away from the next table. There were plenty of open tables. We asked to be moved and were told they were too full. know I sound like a whiner- but I did make a reservation and was able to prove it and yet they treated us as an imposition. We won't be back. I will never know if the food was good- because the service sure wasn't. The hostess was simply annoyed to be bothered by us. I will be telling ALL of my friends. read more

Wish it could be zero. Ordered sliced A5 steak, $75 for 6 oz. Came out chopped like dog meat and medium well to well done after ordering medium rate upon the suggestion of my server and the chef. Have no idea where the disconnect happened, mine came out, as you can see by the photo, like a 6 year olds mother chopped it up like dog meat. I will say the other person in my party ordered the same steak the same way and his was sliced beautifully and done medium rare. How a server could serve my steak next to his is baffling to me. It looked like i was at Bonanza, i apologize Bonanza, your presentation of a salisbury steak would be better. I did complain to a server, he did talk to a manager, the manager chose to ignore the issue, so I sat while my buddy crushed his nice steak. Not a word was said after my complaint, No adjustment to the tab, no offering of a desert or cocktail for serving that swill, nothing. Listen, accidents happen, the chef was super nice and came out to us a couple of tines before the meal, no way he chopped the steak, no clue who did. Just a bad meal, and terrible reaction by the manager who is obviously clueless and in way over his head, he wont make it through season delivery this slop. I wont be back. Bad meal, bad management bad service. The place has lost its mojo, amazing the have the balls to charge what they charge and under deliver and people still show up. read more

Had to take it down a notch on this visit. Wish Yelp allowed 1/2 stars. Service as always was good but the burgers came out very well done. Menu says they are served medium so we went with that and were not asked how we wanted the burgers cooked. Still they were tasty and you get a huge patty. I had the smokehouse burger, 8 oz patty, bacon, gouda cheese and brisket. Fries or cole slaw are sides as well as sweet potato fries. I ordered mine with fries and a side of cole slaw. The burger and fries are 14 bucks the extra side of slaw 3 and ice tea 2.5. I would not order the slaw again, it was dry and had little taste, I prefer creamy cole slaw. My sons burger was also cooked well done, I imagine the grill man took a break and forgot. On my next visit, yes there will be a next visit, I will make sure to order my burger a little pink in the middle. read more

If your looking for a white glove experience, and your hell bent on spending enormous amounts of money, this place is definitely for you. I surmise that the upper class of the affluent Naples community-could sustain a place such as this. Personally, I would be surprised if they stick around for the long haul. I hope I am wrong. It's just not worth the money-plain and simple. How many people dish out $100/lb. for a steak. They have lower priced steaks for sure, but not by leaps and bounds. High end eateries are ala-carte, okay-I get that. But when we stopped in for a burger, after a day at the beach-we were clearly looking like fish out of water. We just wanted a burger; the waiter we got wasn't pleased he got stuck serving us beach bums-and it showed-and we felt it. To further exacerbate what quickly turned into a debacle, our $20 each, burger came with, uh nothing. It was $5 more for some fries. It was like the twilight zone, the waiter was determined to impress us with his culinary knowledge, served with a side of snobbery! We simply just annoyed each other-lol! Bottom line-simply not worth the money! The Deli is next door-and connected thru a walkway. Also kind of weird. But I did buy a coupe of steaks for the grill at home-and they were worth it. I went for $40 for 2 steaks-the cheapest they had. At Publix, those 2steaks cost $12 each. But clearly, the steaks are well worth the $40. Maybe I'll save up for some fancy clothes, and a couple of hundred for dinner. Chances are I still won't fit in.... I'll stick to the Butcher/Deli twice a year! read more

Definitely a memorable stop while visiting the Naples area for lunch and we will go back next time in the area. I got the Berkshire Pork Sandwich, while a friend got the burger of the day which was a wagyu burger with beef bourguignon tips and other toppings. We got onion rings and fries. Both sandwiches were tasty as all heck! My friend could not stop talking about his burger the entire trip and has mentioned it twice since returning home. He doesn't rave about much and he is a good cook, so I know he really enjoyed it. My sammich also came with tasty BBQ sauce. I would have it again - my mouth is watering thinking about it! The service was solid and they offer at least one local draft beer on tap. We will come back for dinner next time in the area, as I want to have a cowboy steak! What was really cool about this location is that one side is the restaurant and the other side is a butcher shop/deli if you want to take stuff to prepare at home. I was thrilled to see that Jimmy P came from Chicago to Naples back in 1985, so go Chi-Town! Just a fantastic place. I've eaten here three times now and it's excellent! Not fancy inside and in a nondescript strip center. Don't let that fool you--the food is first rate. The prices are excellent for such quality and the wait staff is very pleasant and attentive. In addition one side of the business is a deli selling all manner of beef/seafood/chicken products. Purchased Wagyu burgers on the way out--can't wait to grill them tonight! Do yourself a favor and go there--immediately! Jimmy P's Charred was a legit steakhouse with one the best burgers I have ever had! Located in a some off hand outdoor mall you walk into their own meat market and on the other side is the restaurant. Since we went in the Summer hey have a special which offers an appetizer, salad and one of their main course for $45. My boyfriend on the other hand had the 14oz slice wagyu ny strip. It worked out perfect for me because I wanted to try their Charred Smoked Octopus and the US 41 burger. The octopus was super tender and smoked which gave it this black coloring. Since we were there around 8pm before they close they gave us a huge portion of the octopus. And it was a meal on itself. I gave up my salad to enjoy the burger more and good thing I did because it was decadent and delicious. The US 41 burger 8oz wagyu, slice foie gras, sliced truffle and a glaze. I opted out of the Brie since I'm not a fan. The burger was cooked medium and it was so juicy, tender, and seasoned super well. The foie gras provided an extra kick and I loved every bite of this burger. Side a truffle fries to kick it up a notch and I left 20lbs heavier. Honestly my favorite burger. The boyfriend loved his steak too, that wagyu is amazing in general for both our meals and it was one of his favorites. Definitely eat here!! read more

Jimmy P's the well know place for good steaks and service.. right... WRONG. My husband and I come from working in the restaurant industry and we sit at the bar even for special occasions. I'm not sure if they were under staffed (if they were then close the seats at the bar and we would have understood and went somewhere else) we had 4 different servers, each of them we had to ask to take our drink orders, ask to put in food, ask for a fork and a steak knife. Our server forgot our bread, almost gave our salads to the people next to us at the bar, my husbands wagyu Ribeye was under cooked but loaded in seasonings!?? If you have such a prime steak you shouldn't have to over power a steak with seasonings just salt... I'm so disappointed with this establishment, second time coming and don't think we will be back. read more

We'd heard great things about Jimmy P's. When we pulled up, I found it hard to believe that this was the place that had everyone in awe. They were booked solid through the night but offered the bar. It smelled amazing, so we quickly took them up on their offer. I'm glad we did! We always like to ask (especially when traveling) "if this is our last and first time here, what do we have to order?" Our server said it's hard to pick up she'd choose the jalapeno jack burger, New York strip, brussel sprouts and corn. So, we did just that! I'm not usually a burger person buuuuuuuut this was the best burger I've ever eaten. It was juicy, tender, flavor filled and had the perfect heat balance. Although, I would have loved to have had pickled okra with it! The steak had the perfect sear and wasn't over seasoned, as I find with many steakhouses. The cast iron sides, clever! We cook on cast irons and have quite the collection. Theirs add to the aesthetics but also create the perfect shareable sides. The brussels were some of the best I've ever had. My husband isn't a big fan but he even enjoyed them. I'm not usually a corn person but it was good too. All in all, great. I will say, we weren't fans of the cherry butter that came with their rolls or the rolls really. They were somewhat hard and dry. Bread and butter, aside, still a 5. Jimmy P's Charred is a great place to get your "meat fix" in Naples, Florida. The "P" must stand for perfection because they cook their meats exactly how you want it. I've tried a number of items on the menu, and have always ended up full and satisfied. Their burgers and fries are sooooo tasty, my mouth waters just thinking about them! Their salads are also nice, fresh, and can be topped with thick cuts of meat! They also make a great Cuban sandwich, which my husband can't get enough of. There's always a good amount of people at Jimmy P's, but that's because there's always good food. I say if you're in the area, you should definitely try it! You won't be disappointed. read more
