Brought my fiancé for our last night out of our vacation in Naples. We wanted to go to a nice steakhouse and she wanted seafood. You must have reservations here or chance getting the table in the store(by the cold refrigerated section). This was a adorable spot in Naples. A hidden gem I would say. I had scallops which were amazing not to mention the outstanding house salad. Ended up here by chance due a number of restaurants being closed due Irma and the fallout. You would never expect this to be such an amazing restaurant based on the exterior. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in describing the menu items and and wine pairings. We started with the bone marrow which was so flavorful and rich. It was such a delicious start to our meal. I had the filet and lobster with the smokehouse mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The flavor of the steak is out of this world and Cooke to absolute perfection! I've eaten at Bern's, Ruth Chris and so may first class restaurants, but this blows them out of the water. The manager, Joanna was so warm and friendly, she even brought my husband back to the chef so he could complement him. The treated us to a decadent chocolate pot du cream for our anniversary desert. You will not go wrong choosing this restaurant for dinner! There is a wonderful wine and meat shop for you to bring some of their goodies home with you. read more

I was told this was the best steak in naples. All I experienced was subpar service and an extremely rare (blue) tomahawk when I requested medium rare. On top of that the sides were cold and pretty under seasoned. Won't be coming back. read more

Had lunch at the bar on a Wednesday to avoid a short wait. My friend noted that trucks dominated the parking lot and the male to female ratio of patrons was about 5:1, which he considered a good sign for a steakhouse and high end butcher shop/deli that we would not leave disappointed. I had the smoked brisket sandwich with fries and my friend had the reuben. Their fries are shoe string style and tasty but not the star of the meal. Our food was served surprisingly fast, which is helpful during a workday lunch. My brisket sandwich was topped with smoked gouda and was some of the best brisket I've had. I highly recommend the brisket. My friend's reuben had a fair amount of gristle and was not as good as the cheesesteak sandwich he had there during a previous visit. We decided to give them a pass on the reuben this time because the other two sandwiches we tried were so good. Serving size was ample and price was reasonable at about $12 each. They have another restaurant in Bonita Springs. My hope is they have continued success and open a restaurant in the Fort Myers area. read more

This place feels like it belongs in a different place..the atmosphere, the menu and feel of this place gives it an awesome retro yet modern feel I can't quite put my finger on. Just order a steak. It will be amazing. No, just order all the meats. The marrow bone, the burger, more steak and maybe chicken and pork too. I ordered dessert but I didn't really have the room to eat it so we brought it home. Service is professional and top notch without being snooty. My guy was knowledgeable and on top of his game. I dig the crisp aprons too (old world style butcher kind of feel) I would eat here multiple times a week but my wallet and arteries would revolt. But I guess you only live once. read more

4.25/5 is my real score but fractional scoring isn't a thing here. I took my mom and girlfriend out for my moms birthday and upon walk in you go through the butcher shop to the restaurant but what's really weird is there's a large table in the butcher shop for bigger tables. Kinda weird but whatever, just thought I'd mention it. It's a small restaurant with very small booths. They need booths like a foot bigger and get rid of just a few tables in the center to accommodate it. It was decently busy but it looked like they had only two waiters working which is on management. I ordered the a la carte 12oz New York strip with the Brussels sprouts, jalapeño corn, and au gratin potatoes (we split the sides). They both ordered the sliced New York strip. Let me say right off the bat that the steak is the best I've had in town. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and the season is a weird feeling, with each bite your mouth starts to think it's too much seasoning but then your mouth realizes it's perfection. The brussel sprouts were great! Corn was really good and different. The au gratin potatoes tasted liked the box stuff you get from the grocery store (flemings set the standard for au gratin potatoes). The table was too small for three meals, three sides and drinks. It was uncomfortable at times. We were left with an empty bread basket (empty before entrees came and not removed until dinner plates were removed) and empty glasses throughout the dinner. That was annoying especially since, I'm assuming, the manager kept paying attention to the booth right in front of us. Not sure if it was his family or friends but we are paying full price and having drinks and I would've liked to have a new drink when my beer was empty or my mom a refill on her coke once that was empty. The food really carried the meal and maybe service wise it was just an off night. Forgot to mention since it was a birthday we got a free hot cookie with ice cream on top and because I have a toddlers taste buds I gotta say it was the ideal dessert, super hot cookie and it was just damn good. I will definitely be back as the steak was absolutely fantastic. Wish I took photos but kept my phone in my car as it was my moms bday. TL;DR Recap: Pros: phenomenal steak, brussel sprouts and corn Cons: too small of booths, service was lacking and au gratin potatoes were bland. read more

An interesting strip mall restaurant that is attached to a butcher shop. This was some of the best meat I've ever had! Perfectly cooked and seasoned! We had the smoked octopus appetizer and that was just ok. It was too big and over smoked in my opinion. While the meat was great I have to give the side dishes a solid 3. We had the mushrooms, Brussels sprouts and truffle fries. I've definitely had better in those departments. So when you go, just adjust your expectations when it comes to the sides. We thought this place was gonna be great given the reviews but about 1 minute after we were sit we started smelling a very strong odor of rotten meat. We told the waitress and she said she wasn't smelling anything and didn't give us any explanation, she just stared at us as if we were crazy. We had to leave because we were feeling sick because of the odor plus we were really concerned about being served rotten meat or meat that has gone bad. read more

Been here for 2 years, (Naples) a constant disappointment with the quality of food in restaurants in Collier County. This is certainly not known as a food town. And with an older population looking for value instead of quality I finally found the top notch level I have been missing coming from Chicago (Foodie Town)! The ingredients are fresh and so well balanced. The attention to detail even in a salad was a sure sign this was going to be what I have been missing. When we first walked in, I thought I was going to eat our Christmas Eve dinner in a deli, but then felt pleasantly relieved to see the main dining room far inside. It had the butcher's shop and the restaurant in the same building. As far as food was concerned, they were serious about meat and everything else they cooked. We ordered the New York strips #4 and #7 and a bone-in ribeye and they were cooked just the right timing - nice and juicy - and the flavor was heavenly. The rib eye could feed two hungry men so I could not finish it. The side dishes we got were also awesome and so was the delicious and refreshing key lime cake. I could feel the chef put his passion into the food with skills and creativity, like the crab cake appetizer was made well and garnished with hint of pineapples which was lovely to the taste buds. What was once a promising addition to the crowded Naples steakhouse market has been driven into the ground headfirst. Mediocre steaks, a menu that is far too long in the tooth, an absurdly overpriced wine list (400% markup is the norm) and a staff full of arrogance and disdain has turned Charred into an all-around unpleasant dining experience. Your best bet is to buy a steak in the butcher shop, stop at your neighborhood wine store and take it all home for what I promise will be a far more pleasant dining experience. read more
