Our service was great. I can say a few things were very good however, I ordered the double filet mignon medium with a lobster tail.. that steak was not filet mignon and it was cooked well done. I think the entrée was almost 60 bucks., I was very disappointed the mushrooms we got for entrée were good but way overpriced, and our friends had a that they were not very pleased with the other, had a chicken linguine dish that looked like they just took breaded fried chicken breast and threw them in with some linguine not much to it and again way overpriced. We will not go there again, and I was hoping to take my wife and friends to a really good place for dinner. We were very disappointed. The price was unbelievable for what we didn't get. read more

Called the restaurant after picking up my order because I received the incorrect salad I ordered, no extra Alfredo I requested AND they put CHOCOLATE sauce on my tiramisu! The manager was rude as soon as he took my call he yelled ' I TOLD THEM TO ADD THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE! He was indignant and rude. He said well next time you come we will give you a 5 dollar salad! We came here for a family dinner and while it took a bit to get our table ready, they were able to seat our party of 8 for our Sunday night dinner reservation. Our server, Rayna, was truly a delight. She was so attentive and kept our drinks and orders coming with a smile and even made some great suggestions. We would definitely return and request to sit in her section because she was so great. Stopped in the Sat after Thanksgiving around 3 & we were immediately offered to sit in the bar (empty) or the dining room (almost empty). Excellent service all meal long - very attentive w out being overbearing & friendly! Warm bread to start, followed by excellent skins & 1 good beer! I had a full slab of ribs (couldn't even eat half) and they were good - but not great. Too much sauce and burnt on the ends (could eat the ends), very good beef barley and baked p. Others at the table had the cod which they really enjoyed & the calves liver was a real winner (barf) and that persons LOVED it! Lots of food for a very reasonable price. Would I go back - YES, but want to try the burger. It really deserves a 4 1/2 rating but I can't give that! read more

My wife and daughter each ordered filets which were not cooked right. My Parmesan crusted tilapia for one wasn't really very crusted and the fish itself was very mushy in texture. Years ago, we had the infamous friender bender at Jimmy's after staying the night at the hotel next door after a friends wedding. All these years later the bar is exactly the same and I always appreciate this place when we stop in for a few drinks. More recently and as we often do, we used this place as a meeting point between Chicago and Rockford. We were commuting and stopped in a few times, each with pleasant and quick service! The staff is great, one person in the back saved my day and let me use their phone charger and to top it off another staff member bought me a drink which was very kind. Nice, large open dining space with some outdoor seating. We came here on a Father's Day so it was pretty busy. They do take reservations which I recommend. We started out with an order of saganaki. (Free if you download their app) Opaa! We decided on the prime rib, which was delicious. It's accompanied by choice of potato or rice plus soup or salad. Warm bread is brought out when you're seated. It did take longer than average to get the drinks we ordered. The staff were nice and professional, but a bit overwhelmed at our visit. Smelly Fishy Uneatable Cod. My wife was served baked cod that smelled to high heaven. Unfortunately, she didn't want to say anything because we were with two business associates who were in the middle of a discussion, and my wife is timid in that regard. The food quality has dropped since Covid. Food seasoning is lacking and dull. Steaks are not evenly cooked and it seems that they are making dishes ahead of time and serving it. I had Grecian pork chops, one was very tender and flavorful the other was a bit dry and not as flavorful. The broccoli was good. My husband had a steak he said it was a bit chewy. Went to this restaurant about a week ago with my wife. I ordered the pork chops. 1st set were raw in the middle. Sent back and cooked 2 new chops, of which one of them was raw inthe middle again. Sent back again, 3rd set came out and again raw in the middle. Manager came over and saw It was raw. Took it back to refire. Server was very apologetic about the whole problem. We've been going to Jimmys for years, although this was our first visit in 2024. My husband ordered the sirloin need rare, and I ordered the pork chops medium. My husband steak was full of gristle and tasteless, my pork chops were overcooked and extremely tough and dry. Sadly, this will be our last visit. I arrived at the restaurant around 6:45 and headed to the bar/lounge area. The bartender was busy with about ten other customers and still got to me within about five minutes to take my order. I knew I wanted the potato skin appetizer but I was undecided about whether I wanted the wood fire roasted chicken or steak. She wisely steered Mr toward the Filet Mignon Kabobs letting me know the portion size of 1/2 a chicken might be a bit much for me by myself. I'm glad she did because I went with the kabobs and still had leftovers! The potato skins were a little tough but a steak knife (thoughtfully provided by the bartender with the meal) did the trick. I ran out of sour cream after the first two pieces. The bacon, cheese and lettuce provided a nice accompaniment for the bites that didn't get the sour cream. The kebabs were tender and juicy with a tasty Greek sauce and a warm pita. Delicious! My drink never got empty before the bartender or another server offered a refill.
