TERRIBLE SERVICE. I've been coming to this hotel for years yet this is the first and last time I've tried Jimmys. It's a Sunday night, hardly anyone here, lots of workers though, I sit at the bar and mind you I look young (they should be on it with checking the ID right away), another older women sits down yet they greet her right away, and serve her water. Am I a ghost?? After finally getting the attention of the bartender (again at the bar on a non busy night) he finally takes my order. Another 5 mins go by, and he looks at me almost like "oh shoot her drink that's right!" And then proceeded to make it. Do better. Train your staff professionally. Jimmy's On Broadway is attached to the Silver Cloud Hotel. With great street views of Broadway this hip hang out boasts plenty of tables, booths and separate bar area. We came here for the late night happy hour and ordered the calamari with fried kale, a slider and a regular menu Crab and shrimp louie. The calamari was tasty but still pricey considering the serving size however the deep fried kale which came with it was outstanding! The slider was blah, but my Louie was a tummy pleasing assortment of dungeness crab, bay shrimp, boiled eggs, olives, tomatoes and lettuce. The louie was a little pricey at $19.95 but very tasty and filling. Although we didn't have an actual meal here, I am confident that Jimmy's is a good spot to grab a bite. read more

It turned into a nice chill pitstop after work. It has that very clean and modern layout with a subtle instinctive message hinting at modern day standards, if that makes sense. Neat lighting and island bar with a perfect fit of a flat screen on an end. I picked the sweet potato fries with some works and a hard cider. The SPF's were tasty as is and any dipping of the side ketchup and sriracha aioli is somewhat overkill. These already have garlic parmesan and rosemary on 'em. Side dips are great for me if the accompanying fries are abundant and au naturale (for the most part). For the cider, it was ok. I forgot what it was but may want to pass on it. I may have to try the food with more substance/density some time. Side notes: Along the back walls you can observe awesome historical photos - 'always makes my interest in old vintage & retro Seattle a happy camper! Also, if you sit right at the first bar seat by the front door, it can feel breezy cold (and, conversely, probably good during summer). read more

Ghastly. It needs 0 or fewer stars. Only a couple of people in the restaurant or bar at 7:00, the start of Happy hour. We ordered drinks and planned to order some food. A derelict, drunk or street person from the bar panhandled my generous friend and eventually was asked by security to leave. Later the bouncer asked if my friend would like a whiskey. He declined. He was drinking a martini. Forget food. Couldn't leave fast enough. We were staying at the adjacent hotel, but I refused to ever go in the bar again. The next night the place was empty. read more

Well, we were here for our pre wedding party in 2014 and it was an amazing experience. We loved the space, the service and the food. We've been other times and had the same great experience. This time for my wife's birthday it was a bust. They didn't have the steak she wanted and proposed the ribeye with the addition of the sauce from the steak she likes. The cook didn't sound happy but agreed (we could hear because we were sitting by the kitchen). Sure enough, not the sauce she remembered, a non engaged waiter (we were helped more by the female team member than our guy 5 stars to her), and a bill not reflective of our experience. Good news: for happy hour they have amazing food items, sit in the bar not in the back, enjoy the great drinks and free parking. While I had a three star 1 time experience I'll add it to the other 5 star times. read more

Our 14th wedding anniversary treat! One of the best ribeyes I've ever had. I've never had chimichurri on a steak but it was a perfect match. The recommended Nine Hats Merlot was a great pairing. If you like chocolate, go for the skillet brownie. Our server Steven recommended this. It comes in a little hot iron skillet with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. (The menu shows caramel sauce, so you'll need to ask specially for the chocolate). We came in a little early at 4:30pm and it was very quiet, and we sat in a booth near the cook's station. They were wishing us happy anniversary and we were giving them two thumbs up for the steaks. We are so glad we picked this. Best of all, it is 2 blocks from where we live, so we get to support a local business. read more

About five months ago, I went in with a group of about 10 of my fiance's coworkers on a Friday night. Her boss had picked this place to eat before going to our our final destination down the street. She didn't realize this is just a shitty hotel restaurant, so I forgive her. I won't bore you with the details (and honestly the whole thing was so forgettable even I have trouble recalling them), but I'll summarize for you: the service was slow even though the place was dead, the food was average, and the waiter who didn't drink couldn't even fake it when asked to talk about what beers were on tap. I don't even remember what I ate, but it sucked. Overall it was a flop, but on the bright side we had a great time at Blade & Timber afterwards. read more

The beer and wine were good, but the food was rather ordinary. The burgers looked tasty and well furnished. Those of us who had seafood were disappointed by the fish and chips and clam chowder. Servers were attentive and efficient. The ambiance was like many bars and pubs in North America. We were looking for a brunch spot walking distance from my grandparents' place because my grandfather is blind. The location was very convenient though a little difficult for us to find the entry having never been there before and trying to minimize stairs. Our server Drew was incredibly patient with us, service was prompt and the restaurant was warm and welcoming. I had a NW scramble and added the house smoked lox. It was fresh and fantastic. My grandparents had the corned beef hash and a NW scramble sans salmon and really enjoyed them. I also had an Irish coffee and it was in this big mason jar mug and the perfect amount of booze and coffee and whipped cream. I don't recall the bar manager but he was also very attentive and even the chef thanked us on our way out. I'd love to go back and try more things. They had a great menu. read more

I had the Bacon Cheddar Burger and it was DFL! The best burger I have had in a couple of years. The service, as always, is outstanding. I saved room for the Wenatchee Apple Crisp...what a treat! We discovered this local place when taking our friend put who was in town from Philadelphia. We have lived in Seattle for two years and had never been here. We really liked it. We went on an early Saturday evening and it was really nice. There were not a lot of people there at the time. The server was very nice and attentive to our needs. They have a full menu and a nice drinks selection as well. The interior vibe is relaxing as well and you can sit at the bar or around the restaurant. I had the Jimmy's breakfast with ham and it was delicious. The ham was cooked fresh and the eggs custom made to order. My friend had the same except with sausage and my other friend had the Caesar salad, which she liked. The prices were reasonable, especially for Seattle. The customer service was great and the vibe was awesome. I would highly recommend Jimmy's for a nice time and to hang out with friends, chill, etc. read more

Jimmy's On Broadway is a great place to grab breakfast. I've been here twice for breakfast and each time it was an enjoyable experience. Both times I ordered some type of eggs benedict combo. They always poach the eggs perfectly leaving a great amount of yolk. Sometimes when ordering an eggs benedict the kitchen can over-cook the yolk leaving it as a kind of hard boiled egg situation. I ordered the 'Classic Eggs Benedict' with a large orange juice. The orange juice was really fresh and delicious as well. We were seated next to a fireplace which added to the ambience of our experience. The staff there are very attentive and professional. On my last visit I remember them having a salmon eggs benedict which was delicious as well. That isn't a menu item anymore from what I saw but now they have a 'Northwest Seafood Scramble' which I'm sure is just as good. I wandered in here while waiting for my husband to have surgery. Needless to say I was a wreck. The atmosphere was perfect. Quiet and the bartender Andrew has the perfect personality! I had the Italian Greyhound- delicious and the shrimp dumpling. Andrew knew the menu well and had recommendations. When I ordered the drink he asked about my preferences just because of the ingredients in the drink, which I appreciated. I will for sure be back, with my husband. read more

A cool spot for the first hill community! We held a colleagues bridal shower here and they were very accommodating. We had 10 guests and the service was great. Our waiter was very patient as we figured out what we wanted to order and got settled. We ordered several appetizers: calamari, bruschetta, and hummus and olives. All were delicious and ways to share with the table. I shared the Caesar salad and crab Mac and cheese with a friend. The Caesar came out nice and cold and was dressed perfectly. The Mac and cheese was a bit light on the crab given the hefty price of $17. But it was large and both of us had enough to fill us up. They were able to keep our cake in their fridge and brought out cake plates and forks. Great spot! I would come back for other gatherings. read more

Ahhhhhhhhhh I think this is a solid 2.5. I wanted to rate it higher.... I really did. We were seated at the bar and our waitress came and promptly took our drink orders. She was so slow though... Kept talking to the bartender, messing around, and actually set my drink down at one point to keep talking. It was like 8:45 pm so it was deaddd in the place. There was no excuse to not have more speed than she did. We get our drinks, finally, and our waitress runs off. She doesn't come to check on us for a good 10 minutes. I finally flag her down and ask for a SRW menu, which she gladly brings to us. 15 minutes go by and she doesn't come check on us. The place is still dead... The bartender, who we overheard has been working there for 7 years, noticed we were just sitting there and came over and took our orders. He placed them right away for us. Our food came out and the original waitress came over and was like, "How's everything tasting?" Girl, don't act like you took our order!!! Please! Ugh so annoying lol. I looked over at the open kitchen at one point and literally saw a group of probably 4 servers just talking..... Not checking on customers or anything. Like what?! I got the crab dip, and it was soooo good. The bread was borderline burned though, way too crispy and the edges were black. I ended up just picking at the dip with my fork because I couldn't resist.... My main entree, the crab mac & cheese, was the biggest thing I was excited for. I was so disappointed!!! It was a nice big serving, and really cheesy, but you couldn't tell there was even crab in it... I'm being totally honest when I say the Kraft mac & cheese with tuna that I make at home is better. So... That was sad. The chocolate truffle that I had for dessert was SO RICH. It was good for the first two bites, but after that, I needed a gallon of milk. For people who have a crazy sweet teeth, that is the dessert for you!!! My boyfriend got the kale & beet salad for an appetizer and he loved it. For his main entree, he got the pork chop with bacon mac & cheese and asparagus. He loved everything - his only complaint was that the asparagus were cut too low so the ends were kind of hard and bitter. He got the chocolate chip cookie pan as a dessert and loved that as well. All in all, the food was good and I'd return to try some more items from the menu - but I think I'll try Jimmy's on First and see if they have better service AND closer bathrooms. I have only been here for breakfast! Although hotel restaurants are not my usually stomping grounds, I do come here from time to time. The main draw for me is their 6 am opening time which is ideal for those of us coming off of an overnight shift in the area. Beer and eggs! Most breakfast places open at 7am so its nice get get some grub right away so you can hit the hay. I usually get the dungeness crab eggs benedict with extra crispy hash browns ($15). I like it but could use more crab Prices here are little here a little higher, likely due to the hotel location. read more

I stopped in here one evening to have dinner and watch the Mariner game in the bar so this review is not for the full restaurant. The layout of the place is pretty standard as far as hotel restaurant/bars go with nothing that really stands out compared to any other version you might find in "Any City USA". The bar staff was friendly and quick to take orders, fill drinks, or whatever else you might need. I went with the rib-eye steak which came with fresh vegetables and some really good blue cheese roasted fingerling potatoes and I also added a skewer of grilled prawns on the side which were fantastic. My 12 oz. center cut steak was cooked perfectly and with everything else on my plate, I had more than enough food for lunch the next day. With so many great food options all over the city, I'm not sure if I will be back here for the sole purpose of having dinner, but I may stop in once in a while for a few drinks while watching a game. read more

This review will be a two-part review. The bar, and the breakfast. Breakfast. The most important meal of the day. I love that Seattle (or the Pacific Northwest, I suppose) is not afraid to put some wild ideas on their breakfast menus. I ordered a bagel with smoked salmon, capers, tomatoes. Never had bagel with salmon. In fact, that combination of foods never even crossed my mind. Despite my lack of breakfast food awareness, it was quite delicious. I'd imagine Seattle, being the port town it is, would be quite good at salmon preparation - smoked or otherwise. It was amazing how the bagel, cream cheese, and the smoked salmon mingled in my mouth. I quite liked it. The bar. When the wife decides to take a nap, it's my opportunity to drink. The bar at Jimmy's on Broadway was quite impressive. It also had its typicalities of a hotel bar - sports playing on TVs, highly personable bartenders, and interesting mix of people from different places, drinking quietly. For my visit, however, the bar was rather quiet because it was 4:00pm. The bartender knew his beers well. They have something like 30+ selections on tap and the bartender that served me lunch (just fish & chips) and served me my 1955 Porter was very knowledgeable about the beer. Normally, I would have opted to try different brews, but I was feeling tired as well, so I had a couple of pints and went back up to my room. There's nothing spectacular about Jimmy's. It's not a "omg everyone must visit this place" type of place. But for solid breakfast foods for the guests of Silver Cloud Hotel on Broadway and for its impressive bar, Jimmy's gets a four-stars rating in my book. I only ordered room service while staying in the Silver Cloud, so can't speak to the in-person dining experience. But I'll say I vacillated between 3 and 4 stars and gave 4 because the folks I spoke with on the phone and saw in person when they delivered the food were awesome -- and the food was delivered super quickly, even the one morning when I ordered breakfast. The food was solid and good -- it was just heavier than I think I'd anticipated. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed what I had. But just know whatever you order will lean toward more comfort food-y and heavy-ish (clearly I'm into creating new words today, but I digress...ify...) Breakfast: I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which was hearty and lasted me the whole morning. It was grilled so a little greasy -- but delicious. Other dishes I ordered: Jimmy's Sweet Potato Fries -- UNbelievable. They are listed as an appetizer, but the dish is huge. The parmesan on top, again, makes it heavier -- but what really had me were the big chunks of roasted garlic that were mixed in. I should've just had that as my meal! Loved the dip it came with, too. Cobb Salad -- Nothing to write home about. Fresh ingredients, but nothing really stood out. I had the bleu cheese dressing, and that was really good -- not too strong, but flavorful. Turkey Club -- Not what I expected, but delicious. It's described as "toasted" -- what they really mean is toasted on the grill; that means, again, it comes a bit greasy because of the butter. If you don't have any health issues, delish! Go for it. Also, I believe the turkey was smoked; it tasted more like ham than turkey. Just something to be aware of. Burger -- Good, solid burger. Don't usually eat bread, but lord, after having everything else I've had this past week in Seattle I was like, "whatever!" Really fresh brioche bun. Delicious. So again, very solid food -- just keep in mind the size of the portions and how they're prepared when you order. I was at Swedish looking for a quality breakfast and Yelp didn't offer too many highly rated breakfast places. I decided on Jimmy's at The Silver Cloud Inn and was not disappointed. The location is on Pill Hill at Broadway and Madison which is close to Swedish and Seattle University. The breakfast was delicious! I had Eggs Benedict, with added avocado, and fried small potatoes. I ordered a classic and a spicy bloody. The vodka came from Oola Distillery which is a local Seattle distillery which was a nice bonus. read more

But we didn't really care. We were hungry. Our server, Adrienne, was very friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and was really good. Stayed at the Silver Cloud Broadway Hotel and decided to head down to Jimmy's for dinner. The host was very nice and asked us where we would prefer to sit and we chose to sit at the window. Our waiter Alejandro was nice and took our orders. Food came pretty quickly. I started with a ceaser salad and my dad had clam chowder. Both were very good. I decided to go with the classic crab Mac and cheese; it was okay, I have tasted better. My dad had the steak and fries and again, he said it was okay. Overall, the service was good. Food was good. But nothing too great. I would come here again if I wanted to spend the extra money on an expensive okay dinner. read more

Decent food, very nice waiters. It's what you expect from a place called Jimmy's. For me, it was a chance to get out of the hospital for a while, go for a walk and experience something different. So I suppose my perspective is a bit different than a locals. However, it was great to relax, have a drink and eat and think of something else for a while. Our waiter was really sweet, and let us take our time ordering and talking. The food was not amazing or over the top, but filling, definitely not small portions. Above diner level, with good drinks.
