Zero stars -- save your time and money and go elsewhere. tl;dr: 3 visits from a technician that didn't fix the problem and 3 unhonored promises that management would call to resolve the problem. Mike's Bremen is now part of Comfortmate and Comfortmate *will not* and *does not* stand behind their services. I had a malfunctioning refrigerator door and called for repairs. The technician diagnosed the problem as a bad circuit board and ordered a replacement. The replacement was installed but the next day the problem recurred. I called and the technician diagnosed a separate circuit board was ordered and replaced. The problem was resolved for about a week and then recurred. When I called to report the problem was still occurring, I was told that the technician was no longer with the company and they couldn't help, despite written paperwork guaranteeing the work. I asked to speak to management and was told they would call back. Two days later I called again because management had not called back. I was told they would call. One week later, same. I was *promised* that management would call back. It has now been one month and I have not received any return phone calls. There may be worse ways to run a business but this is in the top 5. read more

Had Mike go look at a furnace that was making noise at a rental property. Problem was that he thought the job was too difficult so he just left and never called to let me know. I had to send another company the next day to fix it. That technician fixed the furnace in 15 min. Bottom line, save yourself the headache and find someone else. This guy is not professional. If there was a 0 I would give it. I just bought a house & after a month finally got ready to use stove. It wasn't heating all the way so put thermometer in to check it & after 10min was off by 50 degrees. so I made appointment with this co. Young guy comes out with a sidekick & asks what was wrong I told him. he said it was my computer board & it was junk couldn't do anything. buy a new stove. Didn't check anything, didn't test anything & said he knows all about bad computer boards & then asked for $75.00 trip fee. I said you didn't check anything & he opened top stove door & Said you had no serial # so even if he could get parts he couldn't order. I don't know why I paid this crook but he left & it didn't sit with me. I called GE & They said they believed it was the igniter & asked if he checked it. The morning our air conditioner broke it was 90 degrees and we were in a panic BC our dog was older and had a heart condition. Mike had been out the previous summer to help service our unit and we knew it was only a matter of time before we needed a replacement. We called him up and shared our worries about needing the unit replaced due to the condition of our sickly pup, and even with a full schedule he made sure to take care of us. We placed a call to have them look at our air conditioning unit. We were told no problem and an appointment was scheduled. Day of the appointment, they didn't call during the specified time they had given us. Then it was "we don't have you scheduled for today." Finally, they called and said they weren't coming out because the type of unit we have was "too much of a pain in the rump". So much for professional service and "servicing your needs". Hi Everyone- What an extremely disappointing experience through this "service." I will start from the beginning as I am a first time homeowner and needed some help in repairing my dishwasher. Our dishwasher did not have power and I thought it needed a repair job. Ron came out from Mike's and opened it up and replaced a wire. He wrote on our receipt that it was a "loose" wire and needed to be taken out. The dishwasher is only 2 years old so I figured "ok good, now the problem is solved." I was charged $90. A few days later our dishwasher goes out again. Enter Kevin. Kevin was here on 5/12 for about an hour. Claimed he did not know what was wrong with the dishwasher. I had an electrician at my house the same day. He said let me take a look. He went under the sink and found a light switch under the sink, next to the disposal unit. The switch had been turned off. He turned the switch on and the power returned to the dishwasher. I was charged $50 by Mikes. You can see where the problem arose. I called Mike's that night, as I was not home when this was going on, and was told Mike himself would call me back and talk it over. Mike called me on Friday at 715am, I guess he was to busy to call me later in the day during appropriate business hours. I called him back, as I was at work, and he did not return my call until today, Saturday. He called me at 750am this morning, again during appropriate business hours. Good thing I was on my way to work and not sleeping like many people would have been on their day off. On the phone with Mike, he questioned everything I said about my experience but it was ok because he said he didn't mean to be rude. He said he would call me back later after talking with Kevin. He did call me back and explained he would not be able to refund my money because as I quote, "Kevin talked with the electrician back and forth for some time to figure out the issue." In closing, I paid Mike and his "service" $50 for his "expert" to turn a switch ON because it was in the OFF position. I have posted two pictures here showing exactly what I am talking about and a blog entry explaining the switch under the sink. I am extremely discouraged by the lack of professionalism displayed by Mike as well as the pure rudeness as I was presented on the phone. My only advice to you would be do not use this service because in my opinion they are in the field of scamming their customers. Our stove all of a sudden would not heat up when we attempted to cook dinner. We notified our landlord and she gave Mike's Service a call that night. My furnace did not always ignite when started. I called Mikes at 9:00 AM and he arrived in under an hour. The first thing he did was a clean and check with a simple igniter replacement, to keep the cost down. . When it was obvious that was not the problem a wiggle of the circuit board showed a replacement was needed. He was completed in under an hour. The total cost was parts, and only about 50.00 for the call. . ( I priced the board online. ) In my book you can't asked for better than that. . he charged us $349 to "fix" our ac unit. i gave him a check, but the ac never worked. we asked him to give us a break on the fee because he never got it to work. then he came to our house unannounced and wanted to take his parts out of the unit, even though i told him i had no problem at the very least covering what he was out i parts. i called him again and he insinuated that we made the whole thing up to scam him. i told him just to do whatever he felt was right, to cash the check or make us a fair offer for not actually fixing the unit. he cashed the check for $349 read more

I contacted this company regarding servicing my 15 year old washer. Based on the description, they diagnosed the problem over the phone. They informed me that the problems I was encountering wasn't worth repairing. They said it was my transmission. They said I needed a new washing machine. Other companies would have rather come to my house so they could charge me to diagnose the problem. Debbie was very helpful over the phone. She recommended a certain brand that is more reliable than most. I had already started researching new washers but was having trouble deciding based on all the mixed reviews I read of various brands online. So, the information she provided was extremely helpful. She also recommended a dealer. I contacted this dealer and got a great price! Debbie is wonderful :-). Since my appliances are now aging, I will certainly be calling this company again. I am a new home owner and was looking into replacing the old a/c unit and furnace. I got five estimates and one of them was from Mike C. (the business president) I can say in all honesty Mike was the only person I believed cared about what I wanted and my satisfaction. The four other companies I had come out spent the majority of the time bad mouthing their competitors. No one likes their competitors, that is to be expected; however Mike was very honest with me. He did not want to install units that were to big for my home ( which other companies did), he gave me a realistic and very reasonable estimate without me having to embarace myself by bartering. In addition, Mike Bremen services does not use subcontractors to do their installs. They have employees whom are hired full time and have the training as well as having YEARS of experience. If you know about furnaces or have ever done some research you know that it does not matter what brand furnace you buy if the install is poor. Our fridge stopped working and was no longer staying cold. My boyfriend's recommended Mike's Bremen Service. They came out right away and had the fridge fixed in a few minutes. They told me they could be there between 10 am and noon, and I asked if they could come as early as possible. They showed up at 9:30 :) The repair man was super nice and friendly. Called them out to fix my furnace year one with my new house. Costed $200 and problem I thought was fixed. Year two my furnace was not working again came out and charged me $400. I thought once again it was fixed. By that time I had almost everything new in the furnace expect for the furnace itself. Year three I am beyond upset that I have to keep calling them every year. . .They come out $230 nothing fixed. Basically when they come out they change out cheap stuff first then keep switching out parts until something starts to work. TERRIBLE!!!!! had them out to fix a washing machine, no problem there. the next week had them out to fix a dryer that mysteriously stopped working. got charged 50 bucks for the repair man to tell me it was a gas valve that needed replacing. encouraged me to just buy another more expensive dryer. i had him order the gas valve, cost for valve and labor was to be $400.00. two days later a different repairman brought the new valve, turned on the dryer and told me it wasn't the valve, but he didn't know what the problem was. i recommended to put wet clothes in the dryer , ( he ran it empty and machine continued to shut off) after putting wet clothes in the dyer the sensor read wet clothes and ran perfectly. they called me the next day to find if the repair was to my satisfaction. telling the lady that there was no repair done and that the machine was working after my suggestion to run it with clothes in it, i requested my service charge returned. she told me they would not return my service charge as two separate repairmen had been to my house. no matter that they didn't fix my problem, and luckily did not install an unnecessary part, they would not return my service charge. i will never use them again or recommend you use them either! read more
