I went in to try their food after seeing the onion ring chili cheese on tik tok.we ordered chilaquiles which were ok.green one was better than red $14 a plate.we ordered a side or bacon needed meat but if we ordered carne it was &8 more so I ordered a side of bacon $3. Was a little soggy and not crispy .the chilaquiles were ok .green ones had more flavor red one were bland..the chili cheese onion rings (why we visited) were ok $12.05.they did have big portions but I ended tossing most of my food away.it was ok.would not go there again read more

The food is so home cooking I love it. I go there for breakfast. Today I got the huevos rancheros. It was the best I ever had and I'm picky. Plus I cook a lot and know good cooking. The sauce was made with chunks of tomatoes, onions peppers, and garlic, not that plain runny sauce, most places use. This place has been here over 20 years and the food is good. Not great but good. It's great of your on the go or like me doing laundry in the area so my hunny and I go here for early morning breakfast sometimes. The service is just basic nothing spectacular no greeting when you walk in. They just kinda stare with the pen and pad like "so... what you want" lol but they are really nice. Instead I ordered a Bean & Cheese burrito and the cashier stated they can add french fries which I gladly accepted. Breakfast burritos are pretty good. I get mine with turkey patty since I don't eat eat beef or pork and it's pretty tasty.

This place has been in the neighborhood for years. I believe it was originally owned by an old actor from the golden age of Hollywood. He had all sorts of autographs decorating the walls. Now it's unfortunately not as appealing looks wise. However, don't let looks deceive you. It's a pretty good spot if you're looking for a quick meal. It will get the job done, nothing fancy about this location. In fact the Arco next to it is a little run down as well, giving it an unappealing look from the outside. The food is what you would expect from a small burger joint. Nothing to phone home about, but it gets the job done. The service is the highlight of the location. There food is delicious, it never disappoints, I have had Fabulous on Crenshaw. And the other one on Rosecrans. But nothing and I do mean nothing compares to Jim's on El Segundo. The service is always nice and they give you a good portion of food, especially the French Fries. Everything is a Hit, I have lives in Hawthorne since 1998. And Jim's has yet to disappoint. We go here regularly. If you're looking for some fancy pants gastropub burger type thing this is not the place for it, but if you're looking for a quick, cheap meal that will fill you up, the food and people here are nice. I usually get a breakfast burrito, and the milkshakes are better than you might expect. My one complaint is one time we got hashbrowns to go and they put it so immediately from the stove to the styrofoam container and it was so hot that it melted through it and the bag (we did not eat them b/c, you know, melted plastic). Jim's burgers is one of my favorite burger spots. I've been eating here for a very long time, about 5-8 years I've been eating here. This location is very busy but the food is outstanding in my opinion. Some times the order takes a very long time to come out. Once I came here with my grandpa and he ordered 2 tacos and they came out like in 10 minutes and I ordered fries and it took about 30-40 minutes and it wasn't a very big serving of fries to be honest. But other than that the service is super good and I like coming here with my family. read more

Been here before about a year and a half ago and it wasn't bad as the visit today. The food is okay. But the customer service is horrible. There was a hair inside my fries and when I went back to tell the cashier she said there wasn't any hair when clearly there was a 2 inch hair in my fries. She grabbed them with an attitude and gave me new fries. It wouldn't be that bad if she was nicer and apologized about it. Sadly after I noticed another hair in my burger. I wish that restaurant was a little bit more cleaner! they do have some of the items are pretty good, but being that my experience with one of my kids before the restaurant did a few renovation it was amazing when my daughter had an accident there and they would not recognize it my daughter's finger is cut off some what and they didn't want to do anything to repay her. The food was an 7 out of 10 and the prices are very reasonable. You can get a jr burger for only $1.49 fries for $1.49 drinks for $1.99 or the combo for only $3.99. There was like an 8 min wait which was not to bad. The place is very outdated a bit run down. I had no problem with anything but the lady at the register, i was placing my order when i just said my 1st item and was not done ordering then she proceeded to say "thats it? Thats all you gonna order?" That bother me for many reasons. 1 what if it was the only thing i would order why would it matter? 2 its was none of her business what i will eat. Now I will give them that... I only liked their mixed breakfast burrito, but no so much that as mentioned in other reviews that I will put up with SHITTY service. I was asking my child what she would like to eat and these mofo's talking like they have better things to do than take your damn order. I've been going to Jim's Burger since I was a little girl and Jim still owned and ran the place. Since then it seems the ownership has changed, but I'm happy to know that the standard burgers, pastrami, and fries haven't. This could be nostalgia, but the pastrami is consistently good- good meat, good bread, right amount of mustard with the perfect bite of pickle. Similarly, their chili cheese fries are also one of my favorite versions, also available topped with pastrami (and I really like their chili here). Those are my standards and I haven't deviated much from them except for the occasional burger or chef salad. It's best to bring cash because the ATM set up is weird and it incurs charges. read more

Love this place, great burgers and that's all I care about . So why the 1 star? When a customer pays with their debit card you must accept it as cash with no minimum or surcharge. It is illegal to do otherwise. Jim's added $1.50 to my tab (2 burgers, 1 order of fries for my kids), because it was under $10 and I paid by debit. FIX IT! read more

I passed by this place a couple of times recently and I remembered that it was a shack of a place hole in the wall looking thing. When I had a craving for a burger I decided to try the place and got a chili burger, a taco and a Huevos Ranchero plate (I meant to save the Ranchero for much later but ate them all so hungry I was). What stood out were the low low prices, and then the variety menu item pictures posted up on the board. Overall the food is good, they're not overly greasy, can't complain about the price (All of the above cost me a hair over 8 bucks).
