    tiramisu latte
    Josh I.

The experience got off to a rough start. Edwin allowed another party to go ahead of us after they complained, which led me to raise the issue as well. We were then told our name had been called, but I was paying close attention and it seemed like our party was simply skipped - out parties name was even crossed out on the waitlist That said, Edwin later apologized and made things right, which I appreciated. Sam was our server and did a great job throughout the meal. The highlight for me was the tiramisu latte--it was excellent. The birria omelet was decent, but a bit dry and could use some improvement. Overall, not a perfect experience, but I appreciated the effort to correct the situation.

Great service, come early during the week it's not busy. I'm sure it gets busy in the weekends. The ambiance was a bit loud with the music they had playing inside so it was a nice day outside to sit down instead. We got the Belgian waffle $18 and the mazapán latte with soy milk plus whip cream $8+ $1 soy milk. The waffle was good, they give you two so we split it. It comes with fresh fruit like strawberries and bananas and blueberries. It comes with whip cream and butter. The mazapán latte was hot, my choice by the way, they have it cold too. It was very sweet, it's popular item but very sweet. For two things it was $29 plus tip. Kind of pricy for a waffle and a coffee. Parking is meter parking, two restrooms inside.

Decided to walk over for breakfast. Was immediately greeted and sat. Waitress was Amazing! All of the help here was phenomenal. You could tell this quaint little place was home to locals. The setting was adorable. The food came out immediately. And was Outstanding!!!!!!! No misses. I ordered a regular waffle with strawberries. They were so fresh and the waffle flavor was so tasty. My other half ordered simple 2egg breakfast. Look at that toast. I mean it looks like they baked it fresh that morning. You will not leave hungry. This place has got to be among my top 5. Loook at the cute design on our lattes. And these were one of the "BEST" lattes I have had.

Food was great, service was good my only complaint is parking, which was warranted on a Sunday morning... music was playing on the TVs like a real DJ. We had some delicious omlettes, a huge latte/coffee! Will definitely return!

Wonderful spot in Long Beach for breakfast or brunch. They have tables inside or outside. It is really a lovely location with a cute little shop next door incase you are waiting for a table. The food is really good and plentiful. Since it was brunch, I got the Mimosa Flight which is 3 mimosas of orange juice, cranberry juice and pineapple juice - so fun! I just wish I had chosen a different dish than the Divorsados, not because they weren't good because they delicious but when our table got the French Toast dish with ice cream, I knew I should have gotten the waffle. LOL The staff is super sweet as well. They were very attentive. We sat outside which was very nice. The weather was perfect. I can't wait to go again.

Too good to wait for pictures.

I'd been to the Whittier location, which was very small, only to find a much more spacious location here. For a Sunday at brunch time, the restaurant wasn't very busy and we were sat right away on the patio. Our server was super sweet and they have a wide selection of coffee beverages that we partook in. Everything we had was good and with good portions of meat. Prices were what they are these days - about $150 for four people, each with a drink, and an extra entree to share. I have many places yet to try but Madres will remain a good choice when I'm not feeling adventurous to try something new.

Disappointed!!!!! First the table was sticky with jam. Very dry birria omelette with oil for consomme! They forgot the egg for the chilaquiles. Photos on menu dont look the same/similar to what they served us today. We were here last year and it was great, unfortunately the food and service has declined.

If I could give this place more stars I would. The atmosphere is quiet and smooth, the service was hands down the best I've had in a long time. The restaurant is clean and the server we had was careful with allergies and cross contamination. We would recommend this place to everyone. The food was the best part

Great Mexican brunch spot with amazing food and drinks! The mimosas were perfect and so refreshing, and the chilaquiles were exactly how I like them crunchy, not soggy at all. Everything had great flavor, the service was good, and it's in a really nice area. I'd definitely come back again! The ambiance is calm too but they have nice upbeat music playing inside! Also try the orange salsa it's soo good and spicy.

We came at 8:45 am on a Saturday morning. We were the first people here. Greeted immediately upon entering. This is a super fun place because they change the menu so check out their Instagram to find out what their monthly specialities are!! I ordered the Michelada with Modelo. Very refreshing, and yes I know it's 8:45 in the morning but I'm on vacation! Boyfriend had a flight of coffees: abuelita which was very chocolatey, pistachio( which tasted soo good!!) and marzipan! For my breakfast I ordered the salmon toast. It was so delicious! Fresh salmon! Fresh ingredients! Boyfriend had the Baja Omelette. He was very impressed with house fresh and delicious it tasted!!! As we were leaving this place was getting much busier. It seems like a really fun spot to bring friends and they have large tables to accommodate. Our server was very friendly and had great suggestions!

Went here for my birthday brunch and the food was actually pretty good. Let's start off with the Madres chilaquiles, the meat is birria and with the red sauce. I would give it a 7.5/10, I wish the tortillas were extremely soggy so it could have a crunch to it. The birria meat itself was pretty good. I also wish they added more of the chicharron topping. The pastor omelette was a 8.5/10, the meat was also good and well seasoned. The birria omelette was a 9/10! Switched the sides to hash-browns and it was better. The hazel waffle was also a good waffle, their waffles are pretty thick here tho! Margarita flight was delicious! If you want to order a latte, order the mazapan latte! Iced or hot, either way it's delicious! If you don't like caffeine, the strawberry horchata latte was AMAZINGGGG! Service- was a 10/10. We waited about 5 mins on a Sunday. We got seated quick, drinks and food were served to us quickly. Waiters & waitresses were friendly and attentive. Ambiance- cute vibe inside, not as spacious as I thought but decent amount of space. They also have our door seating if you'd like! The decor and painting on walls were very cutesty!

This is my kinda spot and I wish we lived here cause I'd be here all the time. We arrived at our hotel and rooms were not ready so we decided to stroll around town and find a coffee shop to hang for a bit. We walked in here and they had the house music blasting away, a group of gals were having a birthday party and it was super cute inside. Sat down and order up some lattes and the most delicious and funky pancakes I've ever had!! Horchata latte was really delicious and had a wonderful cinnamon flavor. Chica Bonita for the abuelita chocolate latte and the hearts were so adorable! Excellent chocolatey flavors and such a treat! The Wilma pancakes are OMG Fruity pebbles mixed in the pancake batter then they serve up the condensed milk table side and it's delightfully delicious! Sticky sweet and crunchy goodness. I looooovvvvvveeeeeee this spot and your will too.

My girlfriends and I came here yesterday for brunch and we had a good experience with our food. They have mimosa flights, Michelada flights, and margarita flights. Aesthetically speaking, everything looked very nice. It's a cool vibe in there and they definitely have many breakfast item favorites for everyone. They even had a vegan section which was impressive. The only thing that I really disliked about this place was the volume of the music. It was so loud in there on a Sunday morning, I was screaming over the table to have a conversation with my girlfriends. I don't mind music playing in the background, but that high volume was really unnecessary. I felt like I was in a club! Note to the owner(s) and members of staff, turn down the volume.

    Do they take Apple Pay?

    Yes they do!

    Do they take reservations?

No unfortunately this restaurant is first come first serve type of place but the wait is usually only 30 -45 minutes depending on what time of day you go .

What is the parking situation? Is there a lot, structure, or street parking?

Meter parking and on Sundays it's free, but if you can't find anything there is a paid parking 🅿️ lot on the corner of Elm and 1st street which is half a block walk.

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Great location, shoreline village. View of the boats, relaxing and on a Sunday, it's hard to beat…read morethe atmosphere. So I ordered a Bloody Mary and their Version is extremely sweet. So I had to return it . I the ordered a Coronita Margarita and that is/was tasty. They do have many different offerings of tequilas. And honestly fairly priced. I started with the Fondido de queso basically a Chorizo fondue. It was very good, only the chips were stale. Not all the chips so just so you know, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. The service has been very accommodating. The flavor from the mole was perfect, smooth rich a touch of heat and chocolate. Very flavorful and with the sides of black beans and rice, a tasty pairing. There is side of sweet corn , completing the plate. Great dish. I arrived at 1130 which apparently was the best time. By noon the place was packed and jumping. TVs for the games and plenty of room, so not so crowded despite the amount of people. Great place for a date , or family/friends gathering.

What an awful Tourist Trap. This is a place that once you come one, you will never return - and…read more the level of service and quality of food reflects that management knowledge. First interaction: They advertise a Happy Hour on M-F from 5-6 PM We had this interaction with a server in the bar. "Can we get an order in before Happy Hour is up?" Server "Of course. (Looking at phone the time on their phone). What would you like?" We order. Drinks are brought over along with the check for full price drinks. Me "Can you please fix this check? It's not 6 yet and you are still on Happy Hour, that's why we rushed over." Server "Oh yeah, today we don't have Happy Hour so there is no discount." Me "What so you mean, we ordered these drinks on Happy Hour and now you are telling us there is no Happy Hour as advertised." Server: "Well, we don't do Happy Hour when there is an event in the area, so they are full price." Second interaction (after waiting 45 minutes for a table in the restaurant). We ordered the "made to order table side guac" for 15.50 for an appetizer. About 10 minutes later, a guac is delivered to the table that was either run through a blender or was taken from a tub with a spoonful of pico mixed in. So much for the advertised table side experience or fresh avocado. The guac we buy at Trader Joe's and from Costco are way better. Third Interaction when ordering an entree. I order enchiladas and they have red or green sauce. I ask, Can I get both red sauce on one and green sauce on the other? Response, "well there's an extra charge for that". Besides being lied to about "Happy Hour" and about the "Table-side" Guac and them being told a basic request is going to cost extra, it's is c extremely clear that this place has no respect for their customers and no expectation that anyone will return. I know the 6 local people in our group will never return.
