    Grilled burger and Chili fries
    Rudy V.

As always, great food and even better service. The ladies at the windows are so accommodating. They listen to your order, and repeat it back. No nonsense customer service. Young girls take notes. The dining room is always clean. I've never had anything bad here, other than a Hangover.... If you find yourself in the Pico Rivera, stop by and indulge in the goodness. They even have shakes. Say hi to Maria, she is everyone's friend. She makes you feel at home.

The staff is very nice and go out of their way to make sure you're happy. All the ladies working cashiers are comfortable and helpful with menu options. Cooks know what they're doing especially 8pm staff. Fresh food and under 20 minutes, better than McDonald's. Environment was retro but needs more work outside.

It was a decent place. Everyone was nice. The restaurant was a bit dusty but it's an older place. My boyfriend and I had a pastrami sandwich It was a bit pricey. My bread was super soggy. My daughter had chili cheese fries. She said they were ok. The drive through was backwards so it's best to get down and order. Oh and there was a worker standing outside with a knife lol.

Item Ordered: Breakfast Burrito Pulled up to Jim's kinda skeptical, but damn... this breakfast burrito came through like a clutch friend at 8 AM after a long night out. First off, it's HUGE. Like, "I might save half for later--but then I didn't" huge. The eggs were cooked just right, fluffy and not rubbery. Bacon? Crispy with a little snap, not that limp, greasy strip you get at some drive-thru. Potatoes had a nice crunch, and everything was wrapped up tight in a warm, grilled tortilla. Bonus points for not falling apart halfway through eating it in the car. You can tell it's a local spot that doesn't cut corners. It's not flashy, just straight-up good food done right. Chill dining room area. Service was quick, prices were fair, and they're not stingy with portions. If you're in Pico and craving a real-deal breakfast burrito that won't break the bank, Jim's is it. I'll definitely be back--might have to try it with sausage next time, or go wild and add chili cheese.

Cheeseburger combo, with amazing seasoned fries!

Came to Jim's burgers after work, the drive thru line was out to the St, which to me means some good food! I parked and came inside. The combos are the only way to go if your on a budget. I wish they had more options, because if you want a party melt , fries, and a drink, it's going to run you $20 plus bucks. Ordered the cheeseburger combo, and it was delicious. The bun was soft and fresh, their house sauce is so tasty and the tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce, are fresh. Meat was not dry at all or overcooked. The fries were equally tasty, and nicely seasoned. They even walked my order to me. The cashier was very nice, and also brought my drink. You do get refills which I appreciate. The only complaint I had, was the ketsup in the red squeeze bottle. It was so tangy and just tasted spoiled. I would suggest you check out how long they have been out there, esp in this heat. Other than that, the food here is outstanding for a burger joint, and they even make shakes! I will be back, thanks for the great food!

Restaurant was clean and the service was absolutely fantastic. The food was great, if you want to give the quesadillas a kick get the green salsa. Absolutely delicious and has a fantastic bite. The sign says it opened in 71, wow!!!! Totally swing in for a great meal.

Chili Verde burritos damn this was good

Since I was a tot I came to this place old school as it gets. Walking up the smell brought back memories. And the children I believe run the place but the original owner still is blessed to be with us per one of the employees. Its busy as always even for a Saturday. So nice how I greeted by the counter staff. Watching the grill as the cooks do their thing brings back great memories of my mom and I coming and getting food. The hamburgers still look like the original big burger. I ordered 2 Asada burritos 1 chili verda burritos and a Asada super fries. Wow still the greatest food like going back in time. Always hired great cooks and good counter staff. My family enjoyed the food. So glad it's still owned by the family I knew when I was younger. This isn't like the recent burger joints, a acquaintance of mine who was born in New York and raised before his teen years. They can make all kinds of burger joints but nothing compares to old school greasy spoon. One of the last true Jim's burgers

Ordered food for delivery from Jims, and received a bonus long hair! Nothing says delicious like a long foreign hair in your food. YUM! Smh.

We were served complimentary bread which had sourdough slices, spicy flat crackers and sesame sticks. Have to say I was genuinely pleased for the generous bread basket. Chopped salad ( I got this.) Entrees: Two of us got the ribeye Steak w choice of rice pilaf, mashed or baked potatoes, ( veg included tonight was broccoli.) Another got the filet mignon.( He enjoyed it) I got the Sea Bass. It was the BEST sea bass I've had .. ever! It was Parmesan crusted and perfectly cooked. I'm getting this every time I come here! (As long as they have it on the menu... ) Desert: We ended the meal with two chocolate cakes and two cheesecakes . Both were good as our server had indicated. It was additionally nice that the Host and manager came by to see how we were enjoying the meal. Basically, we had a great time here and are already planning our next visit. FYI valet $6

The bread basket with the sourdough bread and chili crisp crackers was a great start. The calamari with the lemon butter and marinara was done right and the choice of two sauces a bonus. The cheese bread arrived just before our food, a delicious precursor. Pepper steak topped with the onion bacon and pepper topping was perfection, mashed potatoes and broccoli the perfect pairing with broccoli cooked just right, still retaining some crispness. My friend had the rib eye and crispy onions and was equally enamored. The lemon tart was the finale. I took some of the filet home and even leftover, it didn't lose anything. Although we didn't order anything made tableside we saw Steve prepare a Baked Alaska at a nearby table. He passed our table later to check on us and we enjoyed a nice conversation with him. That's a nice touch when the manager stops by and chats for a bit. Service was well paced and our server was friendly and engaging. Valet parking at $6 is reasonable but you can park free on the next block by the church. It was a wonderful return visit for me and first time visit for my friend. We made a pact to come back again and again.

But I've learned that if I order my steaks rare or even blue rare at a place not known for their steaks, it comes out to the desired medium rare I wanted all along. Such was the case tonight. I asked for rare but it came out closer to medium rare--maybe even dipping into medium. No big whoop. The baseball steak was still juicy and delicious. The fries were still great shoestring. And I can live with a chimichurri sauce instead of the preferable hollandaise or bearnaise these usually come with. I just wish I could actually ask for a medium rare and get medium at a food joint other than where it costs me $60 or $70 a cut. The service was good. She was pleasant and quick on her feet. The ambience was good. It was a quaint space and had a lot of charm. I can't say it was too full but I attribute that more to the day being full of sporting events like the World Cup and some silly NBA thing than an actually critique of the restaurant. Subsequently, I found this a good place for dinner but not superb and I found myself wondering when the next like fate might bring me here.

Just a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I were considering our options for where to have brunch to celebrate one of our friend's retirement. Toast was one of the names I dropped in the metaphorical hat, and it won the vote of a few. My friends were surprised that I had named a spot I hadn't yet tried since I'm usually the "foodie" of the group. However, another girl in the group who had been here before vouched for it. I'm glad I finally got to try this place this past weekend, and I cannot wait to return! There were so many things on their menu that I wanted to try. A couple of the ladies ordered green chilaquiles, the friend we were celebrating ordered the Spanish Omelet, another woman I'd met that day had the bacon and eggs, another one ordered the Biscuits and grave with a side of bacon that looked perfectly crispy. I wish I had taken pictures of the plates as it all looked so lovely! I didn't even take a picture of my own food haha. I had my eyes on an omelet, one of the Benedicts or the Chicken n Waffle. In the end, the chicken and waffle won. It comes served with a little container of maple syrup with bacon pieces. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was delicious, though I did request for some extra syrup on the side. To drink, a few ladies ordered mimosas, one ordered an iced caramel coffee, and I ordered the Carajillo. I fell in love with this drink last summer in Mexico and do not often see it on the menu. I love the subtle citrus notes the Licor 43 adds to this espresso drink. It is very similar to an espresso martini, and theirs comes topped with a toasted marshmallow. I honestly wanted to try almost every item in their Tipsy Barista section of their drinks. I'll just have to come back that many more times :) Plenty of parking in the mall lot. It does get pretty packed during peak hours. Fortunately I had called ahead to put our group of 6 down. We went in on Saturday around 11:30. It slowed down a bit while we were eating, but started to get busy again after 1. Otherwise, we might have been forced to honor their 90-minute rule. All in all, a great experience from everyone in our group. No complaints on the wait, service or food. That certainly deserves a toast. Great job, Toast!
