The pastrami was cooked perfectly, flavorful without being too greasy, and the fries were fresh and crispy. What impressed me the most was the staff. Like, "I might save half for later--but then I didn't" huge. The eggs were cooked just right, fluffy and not rubbery. Bacon? Crispy with a little snap, not that limp, greasy strip you get at some drive-thru. Potatoes had a nice crunch, and everything was wrapped up tight in a warm, grilled tortilla. Bonus points for not falling apart halfway through eating it in the car. You can tell it's a local spot that doesn't cut corners. It's not flashy, just straight-up good food done right. Chill dining room area. Service was quick, prices were fair, and they're not stingy with portions. If you're in Pico and craving a real-deal breakfast burrito that won't break the bank, Jim's is it. Came to Jim's burgers after work, the drive thru line was out to the St, which to me means some good food! I parked and came inside. The combos are the only way to go if your on a budget. I wish they had more options, because if you want a party melt , fries, and a drink, it's going to run you $20 plus bucks. Ordered the cheeseburger combo, and it was delicious. The bun was soft and fresh, their house sauce is so tasty and the tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce, are fresh. Meat was not dry at all or overcooked. The fries were equally tasty, and nicely seasoned. They even walked my order to me. The cashier was very nice, and also brought my drink. You do get refills which I appreciate. The only complaint I had, was the ketsup in the red squeeze bottle. It was so tangy and just tasted spoiled. I would suggest you check out how long they have been out there, esp in this heat. Since I was a tot I came to this place old school as it gets. Walking up the smell brought back memories. And the children I believe run the place but the original owner still is blessed to be with us per one of the employees. Its busy as always even for a Saturday. So nice how I greeted by the counter staff. Watching the grill as the cooks do their thing brings back great memories of my mom and I coming and getting food. The hamburgers still look like the original big burger. I ordered 2 Asada burritos 1 chili verda burritos and a Asada super fries. Wow still the greatest food like going back in time. " Price Gouging" is a better name for this establishment due to their action or practice of overcharging customers for something by sharply increasing its price that is not displayed even though they have a menu with prices. I was surprised when the price for my order was literally more than what it should have been and the young lady said, its posted on the the menu that prices are subject to change. Well it is posted and very wrong. There is a taped paper on the bottom left ( stretch out the photo to see) with the naked eye a person cannot see. They should update the prices and stop using COVID as a crutch. I don't understand why our city council has not done something. Avoid this place! I don't usually eat at these types of places anymore since changing my diet, but I was craving burger stand fries. I ordered that, a simple chicken taco, and a taquito. Easy right? Wrong ! This must be the worst taco I ever had. First, all the meat inside my taco was burnt to a crisp - I mean all were charred to a crisp skillet nuggets. I kept spitting out what felt like bits of bones in my mouth but was actually hard burnt pieces crumbling in my mouth. The chicken must've been old on top of being burnt. No fresh meat should be able to get like this. The taquito was also completely burnt. Even the fries over cooked and had burnt pieces but at least some was more edible. This place is terrible. There is no excuse for this. The salsa as many others have said - super watered down and gross. The avocado sauce that comes with the taquito also had no flavor. It was a salty glob of mess. Gross. And they have the audacity to be high priced. Save you palate and stomach and just avoid this place at all costs. If I wasn't in a rush I'd a asked for a refund on all of this. Just moved to Pico Rivera from Santa Fe Springs so we have been trying out local restaurants. My first experience with Jim's was because they advertised biscuits and gravy so I drove through. Unfortunately they told my they didn't have any this day. My next visit was today where I ordered the shrimp dinner.
