We had another fantastic meal tonight! We both got burgers and I got mine with their tater tots. This is my hands down. Favorite place for tater tots! The burger was perfect!

Putters always hits the spot. Great apps, great meals, and a great experience overall. Your go to good bar food. I love the mushroom burger sub and love just about all of their appetizers. I wish we lived closer bc I know we would go more often.

I love this spot. It's definitely "rustic" but the food is always hot and fresh and the service is friendly. I love hot chips and they allow them to be ordered floppy which is my fav! They definitely have a following of locals!

So, let's get one thing straight: this place is good, and I have been coming here for years. I often get the jalapeno nacho cheesesteak. Jalapenos, nacho cheese, steak, simple, and delicious! This is also the epitome of family-run businesses; they have been here for decades with the same ownership. Even though I had not been in the restaurant in over 12 months, one of the regular managers recognized me and struck up a conversation about where I had been and what I had been up to. That kind of service and care is not everywhere, that is for damn sure. This is a great little dive bar to take friends and family out for an honest meal an a zesty adult beverage. They have a huge beer menu, and while their menu is a little limited (vegetarians seek other places to eat) everything on it is delicious, I have always gotten some form of "steak" here, and never been dissatisfied with my choices. I cannot recommend this place enough, give it a try!

My son and I had lunch there on Friday. The parking lot was packed but we managed to find a spot. We love this place as there are so many different items to choose from. They are known for their steaks but they have other good things as well. (Fajitas, burgers, salads, buffalo wings, subs). It was nice so we decided to sit outside. The waitress came and took our drink order while we studied the menu. I ordered the chicken salad sub with buffalo chips as my side and my son had the southwest steak sub. with slaw. The food came out shortly. The food was delicious as always. If you haven't been here, you need to check them out.

We came here as a party of a 9 around lunchtime on a Tuesday. I called ahead letting them know we had a large group coming in. They said they do not do reservations, but when we arrived, they luckily had a table reserved for us. The parking lot does get crowded as this place is a hit for locals. I ordered the teriyaki chicken Philly with sweet potato fries. I enjoyed my meal and no major complaints. The food came out in a reasonable time frame. I would say this place is better for groups of 4 rather than large groups as there is limited space for a large table set up. Overall it was a positive experience and I would return.

We were going to stop somewhere else to grab lunch but they were extremely busy so we quickly looked at our Yelp bookmarks to find somewhere else in the area. My wife remembered seeing Putter's featured on social media recently which sealed the deal. Our guess was they are associated with a golf course and I was preparing for a golf course clubhouse experience. However, she told me she thought it was a small, hole in the wall that gets rave reviews and has quite a following. We pulled into the parking lot and for sure it was a small place but I did not see a golf course. The exterior looked like it could use some TLC and they have an porch/patio area that is protected from the rain. We walked in through the front porch area and entered the main part of the building. My wife approached the bar and we were told we could pick from a table in the bar area or a booth in back. We chose one of the tables and they brought us menus right away and took our drink orders. The interior decor had many references to golf and Wake Forest. The restrooms are to the right and there are booths to the left. The ceiling looked like it had seen better days. We did see their sanitation score on the wall and it was a 94%. We were seated at a two person table in front of the bar, provided menus and offered drinks. The menu's have all the basic bar food items but we appreciated the fact we could order their Homemade Potato Chips "SOFT" just like we like them served with ranch and ketchup. My wife decided to order the lunch steak special (8 oz. ribeye) with grilled veggies and I ordered the patty melt with tater tots. It felt like many people knew each other and perhaps had a past connection. Our potato chips arrived and looked delicious, we were able to bend them and the smaller pieces had a little crunch. We really enjoyed them! We finished the potatoes just about the time our meals arrived. My wife thought the steak was delicious and the veggies were good but next time she wants to try the hand breaded onion rings which we noticed another table eating, they looked yummy! My patty melt and tots were very good but didn't blow my socks off. My wife used the restroom and said it was very clean. Will we be back - yes!

The food came out piping hot, it was delicious! We went during a rather slow time but I have been here when it's slammed and the food is always good. Our service was wonderful and our server had a lovely sense of humor. The atmosphere was decent, it's been around a long time so it's a little dated but it's expected and appreciated. A local gem that shouldn't be judged based on appearance.

The ribeye lunch special may be the best value in steaks around the triad! This thing was great. I had heard Putters made great wings and steaks. I can confirm both now. The lunch special is a ribeye with a side for $17 and some change. It makes for a huge lunch and the ribeye had great flavor! The curtly fries were good too. Putters is quickly becoming one of my favorite Winston area spots.

The definition of a dive bar in all the best ways. For years people have been telling us to check out Putters and I'm excited we finally did! This is a no frills, minimal decoration dive bar but they're slanging out excellent food and service. We sat on their lovely and modest patio and decided to order a few sandwiches. We got the steak + jalapeño and a BLT with fries and a side of their ranch and honey mustard. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender and beautifully seasoned. The toppings were crunchy and the bread was soft. Everything was such a nice surprise in a good way! Don't sleep on this place and don't let the outside deter you!

I hadn't been here since college (aka 15 years or so), and the place is still exactly the same...in a good way! It feels like your neighborhood bar where everyone knows your name. The servers are friendly and helpful, and the food is some of my favorite bar food ever. The classics are the philly's and cheeseburger sub. They are messy but well worth it. You gotta get the homemade chips with a side of ranch. The seasoning on the chips got a great spice to it. I gotta get back here sooner than later.

We have always wanted to try this place out seeing it many times off of the roadway and it looked interesting because it was a converted gas station. As we parked and approached campus gas we noted that there was plenty of outdoor seating, primarily wooden benches, tables and places to lounge around outside near the fire pit. There were people enjoying a drink and playing a lively game of cornhole. We strolled around then went inside to explore what the business had to offer in the way of drinks and maybe get something to eat. As it turned out, it was around 9 o'clock, and the lady that came out from the kitchen told me that the kitchen was closed for the evening so we weren't able to get any food at that time so we walked around inside and looked at the small things for sale and the decorations saw the nice high top bar and chairs and since things were winding down, we decided to leave instead of having something to drink. We didn't see a bartender or someone to serve us a drink anyway. So as it stands, we'll have to come back by some other time and check it out. I hear the food is interesting, casual and good and there are a lot of beer selections. I look forward to coming back another time and trying the food and drink.

It's an old-style gas station you'd expect to find on Route 66 that has been converted into what I'll call a local pub. It's got some simple comfort foods to go along with a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Barstool table seating inside with picnic tables outside. They've got a cornhole set outside to complete the backyard picnic feel, and I've even seen customers seated with their dogs. Very cool. My wife and I were cheerfully greeted when we walked in. We shared an order of chicken tenders and tater tots. My wife got a bottled water, and I picked a NA beer from their selection. Finally, someplace that carries an assortment of NA beers! The food took a while to come out, but this isn't a fast-food joint and it was nice to slow down and have a conversation. The chicken tenders and tater outs were hot and tasted great. Definitely a generous portion of both and I'm glad we got just one order. In summary, the place is nothing fancy. It's just a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some comfort foods and frosty beverages. It's definitely on our "will return" list.

My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. Definitely worth the add. All in all, I think we spent $40, which feels reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. Definitely worth a stop in if you happen to be in the area.

There was a 20 min wait and we were starving after a long travel day and eager to get to campus so we ate at the mediocre crepes restaurant next door instead. When we picked her up a week later I was prepared with reservations. However, when we checked in they told us they don't take reservations so it must be for their sister restaurant (oops) and the wait was even longer this time. One of the hostesses mentioned there would be seating clearing at the bar within minutes, which was good enough for us. We sat down 3 minutes later and ordered a few minutes after that. My daughter went for a cheeseburger which she happily ate stating that the food at Wake was NOT good all week. My husband enjoyed his turkey club and packed the other half for his flight later that evening (lunch and dinner). I went with the crab cake appetizer, which I thought was just OK. It was only a few dollars cheaper than the sandwich so I probably should have gotten that instead, but didn't want to be tempted with the bread and fries. We were in and out within 30 minutes, which I appreciated since we had a drive to Chapel Hill ahead of us. Overall, it was a solid meal and I'm guessing a favorite for those affiliated with the campus.

When we first walked in, it was busy and we heard the hostess tell the couple in front of us they would need to wait over an hour for a table - Lucky for me my wife made reservations and we were seated immediately! It was a bit on the noisy side but not so bad we couldn't have a conversation. Our servers, Thomas, was fantastic start to finish with good recommendations, attentive service without being overbearing, and a great personality. Good staff make a business shine! We started with glasses of wine and were impressed with how generous they poured. Perhaps it was a visual illusion, but they felt like very large glasses of wine and made it feel like a very good value. They have a good selection of wines to choose from along with a full bar. Appetizer was the Crab Cake Egg Rolls, something I don't think I've seen anywhere else. They're cooked in Beef Tallow which gave a very savory flavor and crispy texture. They were a bit on the oily side but overall flavor was delicious, and I really liked the dipping sauce which was like a very herb-heavy tartar sauce. For entrees, my wife had the Filet and I had a New York Strip. I don't have the words to describe how delicious and perfectly prepared both of these were. I didn't even bother asking for steak sauce because the perfectly tender and seasoned steak didn't need it. Nobody wants to pay high prices for a steak and receive something low quality, and I was thrilled with the quality of the steaks here. Surrounding tables likewise had great looking meals and I overheard them voicing pleasure too. As sides go, the baked potatoes and salads were excellent too. I got the hot bacon vinegarette dressing and was surprised it was actually served quite hot. It had a really rich and slightly tangy flavor that was unique and I really enjoyed on my salad. I have no complaints here and will absolutely be back. Of course it's on the pricey end, but this is the type of establishment you reserve for a special night out, not your average Tuesday night. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

Between the rave reviews and the beautifully designed space, I knew this would be our stop. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the parking lot was on the smaller side, but any concern disappeared the moment we checked in. The hostess greeted us warmly, asked for my license plate so she could validate our parking, and had us seated almost immediately. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the experience. On the way to our table, I couldn't help but notice the inviting patio, perfect for lingering over lunch on a beautiful day. That said, I had reserved an indoor table, and I'm glad I did. The dining room is intimate, stylish, and effortlessly chic. It's the kind of restaurant that feels equally suited for a catch-up with friends as it does for a date night. The tables are close together, creating a lively atmosphere, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you prefer a little more privacy. Our server, Aundria, made an already wonderful experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. It was also refreshing to see the entire team working together so seamlessly, with everyone stepping in to help one another throughout the meal. I ordered the lobster roll with shoestring fries, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The lobster was fresh, buttery, and generously portioned, making it one of those dishes I'd happily order again. Before we left, I asked Aundria what she reaches for when she dines there. Without hesitation, she recommended the Korean Beef Bowl, which has already earned a spot on my list for my next visit. As if the experience couldn't have ended on a sweeter note, it started raining just as we were leaving. The hostess grabbed an umbrella and walked me to my car, a simple gesture that perfectly reflected the hospitality we experienced from start to finish. The "Korean Beef Bowl" came with about a cup of each beef, rice, cucumbers and maybe 1/4th of an avocado for $24. This looked and tasted like a $14 dollar plate at best (seriously, no kimchi even in a Korean bowl?); I left hungry. My wife got the Thai coconut curry, $30 bucks which included an $8 up charge for chicken, in which there were maybe 8 paper thin slices. The curry part was non existent both in volume and in taste. There was barely any sauce, very bland, and it essentially tasted like unseasoned noodles and vegetables. I would gladly come back for a happy hour and enjoy their other drink options and appetizers, but I just cannot justify paying the exorbitant prices for how mediocre the food ultimately was. I wish I had taken a picture of the food to add weight to the review but it was so lackluster looking that it just was not worth photographing in the moment.

I'm giving it 3.5 stars…read morebased on my experience because I do think my next visit will be better, based on the baklava! That is a must get! I have the impression they do Greek food really well but everything else seems mediocre. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which was a small portion and lacked flavor. They also initially brought it with brown gravy covering it even though I ordered sausage gravy. Not a big deal, but they told me they had the correct one in the back and would bring it right out. I waited longer than expected for "it's already made," and I'm pretty sure I was lied to and had to wait on a re-fire, which came with the gravy inconspicuously on the side this time, but the service was friendly nonetheless. It was Valentines weekend so we ended up being there while they were quite busy. Still, the wait wasn't terrible, all considered. The French onion soup was delicious, and we were able to get it as a side for only a $2.50 up charge. Worth it! My wife got the turkey meal (not pictured, sorry) and it reminded me exactly of the tom turkey meal I used to get at the diner in NY when I was a growing up! The restaurant is large, bright, and clean though I think it tries to give southern kitchen when really they should probably lean more into the Greek diner vibes. I'll be back to update my review after I've ordered some other options off their menu.

The place has an open concept seating area and the kitchen visible in the back. It is decorated nicely and they even have an "Egg Counter" board that keeps track of how many eggs they have used to date. If anyone wants to start a pool of what date they will reach 1 million, let me know, I'm definitely in. They also have limited seating outside in front of t if restaurant. They have a great selection of breakfast traditionals as well as some cool house specials. From omelettes to pancakes and waffles of different flavors, you cannot go wrong. They also have some great lunch salads and sandwiches if your mood is wanting different. I got the Chimi steak and eggs. It is eggs in a bowl, topped with tomatoes, avocado pieces and sliced steak, the chimichurri sauce is served on the side. The sauce was to garlicky for me and did not feel like a fresh traditional one. Then again I am biased since I make it at home fresh on a regular basis. You do t want to o er do it on any one of the ingredients or it throws the flavor off. My wife got a Traditional Breakfast with over easy eggs, sausage, grits and toast. I also got the watermelon pomegranate lemonade Ade which is always refreshing. Staff is very friendly and efficient. I really have never had an issue here. Overall it is a great affordable place with great food. Stop in, you will most definitely not be disappointed!

They have decaf espresso for your lattes too, if that's something you're interested in. The server was really friendly. We're already planning to go back.

Did I add a half waffle to my order? Yes I did. No regrets.
