Service was great. Plenary of seating inside available. The ambiance in the place is perfect for family groups. Plenty of menu options available to order from. The dishes we chose came out quick. I ordered was the teriyaki chicken with rice. It was not the best I ever had but pretty good non the less. Definitely need to come back and try the breakfast menu options. Overall not a bad spot to eat at.

Westown Restaurant is back in the hands of their original owners (thank goodness!!) The service here is always great and the food is absolutely AMAZING!! One of the many things I love about this restaurant is that they have such a wide variety of options on the menu, and no matter what you get it's ALL delicious.

    Huevos Rancheros

This diner, under new management, is now open for breakfast, so I stopped in to try their version of Huevos Rancheros. While it was not a bad dish, it was far from a traditional approach to this breakfast staple. The ranchero sauce is usually composed of tomatoes (fire roasted), chile peppers ( Serrano or Jalapeño), onions, garlic, and cilantro - all but the cilantro are often roasted. The items are then blended in a food processor, before being placed in a pot with a little hot oil for 3 - 5 minutes, allows the sauce to thicken a bit. The sauce here was not blended or cooked, but was a rather coarse chop, with the peppers as a separate chop - these things diminished the overall flavor of the sauce which is a key element of the dish. This dish requires that tortillas be lightly fried, and then placed on a serving plate for each diner. Then the tortillas are generously spread with refried beans, then 2 fried eggs are added (sunny side up or over easy), and then plenty of the ranchero sauce comes next, and the whole thing is topped off with cheese and chopped cilantro. As I said, this was not all that bad a dish, but it does lack the robustness and layers of flavors found in traditional Huevos Rancheros! I have just about given up on finding a good Huevos Rancheros dish in the area. Ambiance - 3 Food - 3 Service - 4 Value - 3.5

We had used Siri to go to Sheetz and saw this next door. Being new to the area we decided to try this out after looking at the Yelp reviews. Service was wonderful and we found the down home atmosphere comfortable. I will be back.

Tenderloins should look more like this. NOT RESTAURANT PHOTO.

I was so hoping this place had stepped up its game. There have been several posts on FB and IG lately. Looking for another local option. Also looking for a good fried pork tenderloin. Unfortunately found neither. The kitchen looked hectic and disorganized. The food was all frozen Sysco food. Under seasoned and overcooked. The waitstaff was preoccupied discussing shifts and overtime (or something closely related). Took awhile to get their attention that I pre ordered and prepaid (nearly $50 for 3 entrees). So what I thought might be more value priced wasn't at all. See entrees in pics (first one is what I expected - online pic)

I have been here a few times and so far have enjoyed every meal I have ordered. This is like a family old school Diner. They have breakfast, lunch, & dinner available, so there is something for everyone. There is plenty of seating, both tables and booths. There is also a private back room available to reserve/rent for private events. The owner always comes out from the kitchen to say hello and check on customers. His entire staff is very friendly and attentive. Our coffee & drinks are always kept filled. My only complaint previously was that they were not open on Sundays! Well, I can no longer complain. We now have a place for brunch after church and with great reasonable affordable prices that will keep you coming back. You can enjoy a great meal with drink for under $12! Today I went with the Fiesta Omelette with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, Turkey, bell peppers and Serrano peppers for a kick. I held back on the onions since I hate cooked onions. It comes with a side choice so I got a fruit cup with pineapple, strawberries & grapes.....refreshing! The omelette was not too heavy, it was the perfect amount of each ingredient so you could savor every bite. My wife got the Gallo Pinto, which is a traditional Costa Rican Breakfast. It has two eggs cooked to your liking with mixed rice & beans and plantains. This reminded her of breakfast in her country of El Salvador. She loved it and said it reminded her of her mother's cooking. My daughter wanted something different and ordered the Fried Chicken, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. It was huge and messy but so worth it.....her words, not mine. I did however witness her use a lot of napkins....lol. Overall a fabulous brunch, great coffee and lots of options for next time. They have awesome specials all week, especially during lunch. Stop by and give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

So we decided to come to Westtown restaurant because it's right up the road from the house, and we rarely eat here but I did see a lot of talk about the soup flight so we came in to get some and a few more things . We got seated right away and that was very exciting by the young man at the door a few more ppl got seated about 5 or more minutes after us they got they're drinks and appetizers and we are still waiting for someone to come and ask us for anything I locked eyes with the guy who set us down he then came over ask if he can get us something to drink while he gets our waitress which he did. She came over within two minutes and she had walked by us four or five times prior i would think that she knew what table she had but anyway let start with the food Soup, Flight , with broccoli& cheddar, gumbo and Pollo picado they all tasted pretty good, some of them needed hot sauce and salt. Some of them need nothing. 8 out 10 My girlfriend got the ribeye and shrimp .order the ribeye, medium got it well done told the waitress she got it fixed right away but with the wrong steak gave us some thin sliced top sirloin definitely not ribeye so 1 out 10 I ordered the marinade steak with side of banana puddings the steak was over cooked but I did not make a big deal out of it because it still tasted really good and if it would have came out medium it would've been perfect So it gets 8 out 10 I also got chopped sirloin they just need to call it what it is a burger patty with onions on top 1 out 10 The chicken pie was good just added a bit more salt to it 7.5 out 10 For sides we got Mashed potato 6 out 10 Mac and cheese 4 out 10 Corn 3 out 10 Onion rings 8.5 out 10 Greek style fries 8 out 10 We also got the mimosa Flight , and they did not have no more of the boards but all in all great deal, and the peach mimosa was definitely my favorite got the pineapple, strawberry and peach mimosa Flight 10 out 10 Now the only reason they are not getting a 2 star is because even though I waited almost 25 minutes to get acknowledged by anyone after I got seated, the young man at the door and my waitress After knocked it out the park they worked with us may sure my drink was never empty and was very friendly and helpful so the service picked up those extra points for them. Will I be back I can honestly say I don't know it's a big maybe

    Soup flight
    Allison P.

Sigh. I wanted this experience to be so delicious. I met a friend after seeing their flights on local social media so we wanted to check them out. The star of their show seems to be the hot bar-lots of folks coming in for take out and actually ordering for there too. Menu is the usual diner foods. Our waitress was scattered but nice and they charged me wrong. I ordered the soup flight-French onion, vegetable, and chicken tortilla. The vegetable was made with marinara sauce and it was the best one-really nice touch. The French onion was salty and chicken tortilla was super basic. I wanted them both to be more flavorful. I was supposed to have the mini grilled cheese but ended up with the regular. The house salad was good-homemade with looooots of sour cream so it was thick. My friend ordered the pasta flight and was disappointed with the lack of flavors. Such good ideas but maybe need some work.

    Greek omelet
    Shelly L.

Ok, full disclosure.... I'm not a fan of diners, I know it's so very Un American of me! I expected to leave WestTown disappointed and underwhelmed but I was pleasantly surprised on this trip. I got the Greek omelet with bacon and it was flavorful and stuffed full of tomatoes, spinach and feta. The home fries were crispy and seasoned nicely too. My friend ordered the two egg breakfast that comes with a third egg free if requested. She's southern by birth and gave the accompanying biscuit and sausage gravy a thumbs up. The mimosa flight was disappointing as it tasted more like juice than a bubbly mimosa. But at $10, it shouldn't surprise anyone that it isn't heavy on the alcohol. I would suggest bumping up the price and balancing out the ratio. All in all, I typically avoid diners that have such extensive menus but for a solid breakfast at a great price, I will visit WestTown again. On a fun note, they've recently added a soup flight after a social media post on a "Winston Eats FB Page" requested that such a thing should exist. So far, great reviews on that so maybe I'll try that next time too! Service was fast and friendly ....ambiance is what you would expect. ...Nice family run, casual spot! New ownership so if you've tried them in the past, might be worth another try..... but you really need to be a diner person too

I'd try the grilled chicken sandwich foe the kid and maybe a grilled cheese or a cheeseburger.

As the name suggests, this is still an operation focused on takeaway dining, though there are some tables available on the sidewalk outside. I'd end up taking my food home on this trip though. Once again I decided to sample the Chicago-style hot dogs offered here. And there have been improvements since my first visit. The product now comes on an actual poppy seed bun, as it should. I don't think the bun was steamed though and that hurts the texture. The hot dog itself had a good snap and taste, and the through-the-garden toppings were loaded well onto the bun. Something's still missing about the overall taste though, as these simply don't measure up to other Chicago-style hot dogs I've had -- including many far away from Chicago. The build of the sandwich looks closer to being correct than it did five years ago, but the flavors are still wrong, and I wish they'd work to figure out what it is they're missing. I placed my order on site rather than calling it in, and the young lady at the counter was pleasant. It took a little longer than I'd expected for the kitchen to prepare my order; maybe they just don't get many requests for the Windy City dog and they're just not well versed in putting it together? This latest experience leaves me scoring Joe's somewhere between two and three stars, and though the food was better than last time I still lean towards the lower side of that range. Maybe their more Carolina-themed food would be better and result in a higher rating, but there are already plenty of places I can go locally for a hot dog fixed "our way," many of which would be at a more competitive price point and with better options for drinks and seating. I wanted to try Joe's because of the hot dog options they have that aren't widely represented elsewhere in this area, and in those respects I still can't find much to love here.

It is flavorful and tender, and the sauce takes it over the top. There burgers are first rate (go for the Smash Burger), as are the hot dogs, no matter how you top them off. I especially like the Chili Dog with mustard and onion, the Chicago style dog, and a simple dog with mustard and kraut! The Ribs are very nice, tender and loaded with flavor. There are plenty of tasty sides, and I love the Street Corn, the Collards, the Fried Okra, and Mac & Cheese. Joe's is the type of locally owned restaurant that I love to support. The food and service are first rate. Because it has little street visibility, it's location, is small with no inside seating, and is take out, a number of folks will never give this place a visit, and that's a shame. The burger here is as good as those at Alex's, Bobo's, Mr BBQ, and Dairi-o. The hot dogs are as good as those at Dairi-o, Mr BBQ, and Kermit's, and very close to those at PB's. The Beef Brisket is as good as any in the area, and far better than the vast majority. I highly recommend and hope you will visit.

My wife and I have been to some of their other locations over the years, and I've always admired their business model. They keep the menu simple, focus on quality, and add little touches that make people feel like they're getting more than they paid for--piles of fries and free peanuts while you wait. Potatoes and peanuts are inexpensive, yet they create a sense of abundance and generosity. Honestly, it's a brilliant strategy. But this visit gave me a very different perspective. I arrived just before noon on a Thursday. It wasn't busy, so ordering was easy. But the prices stopped me in my tracks. A little bacon cheeseburger alone cost more than $10. By the time I added a small fry and a regular drink, my total was over $20 after tax and tip. The tipping part is what really stuck with me. When the payment screen prompted me to leave 5%, 10%, 15%, or 20%, I couldn't help but wonder--what exactly am I tipping for? This wasn't table service. I ordered at the counter, filled my own drink, grabbed my own condiments, picked up my food when called, and would clear my own table. Yet, out of guilt, I still tipped. That little moment of hesitation left a bigger impression on me than the food itself. And the fries--once a fun "extra"--didn't feel like a perk this time. My "small" order was far more than I could eat, and I ended up throwing half of them away. What used to feel generous now just felt wasteful. I enjoyed the meal, but walking away, I realized I'd remember the cost, the tipping awkwardness, and the wasted fries more than the taste of the burger. It made me think: for the same $20, there are plenty of other places where I could sit down, be served, and leave with a better overall experience. In the end, I'll probably shy away from Five Guys and fast food in general. They still make a good burger, but the value equation just doesn't add up anymore.

Lots of options, and I went with the TJ's Club Special. Order taken and paid for at the front counter, and we selected a table near the front window. The place was definitely busy with both takeout and dine-in orders. Restaurant was well-lit, comfortable, and clean. Mishap #1, we noticed a lot of other order numbers being called besides ours so my wife went up to inquire and it somehow got labeled with a different patron's name and put off to the side. Hey, mistakes happen and the order contents itself were accurate. My wife got the half-sandwich and soup and made the comment that the soup was nice and hot. It was hot and delicious although I felt the tortilla wrap was a little stiff like maybe they didn't warm it before adding the ingredients. My husband got an Italian Hoagie. He had them take off the 1000 Island and add mayo instead. He enjoyed it a lot. We also got a side of Onion Rings to share. The first thing we noticed was how dark in color they were and also the abundance of seasoning. My husband took a bite of one and immediately started coughing because of the super salty flavor of them. Having a long history in the restaurant business, we could tell they were re-fried and obviously re-seasoned. He returned them to the counter where they gave us a fresh batch without a problem. The new ones were visibly much better however, as long time customers of TJ's we noticed how much thicker the breading was than it used to be. I was disappointed the batter was so prominent I couldn't really taste the onion. I think they either changed their breading or changed the way they bread them. I wasn't a fan though so I will hesitate to order any breaded items from now on. The dining room, as always was bright and clean bustling with customers eating lunch. The service is nothing but friendly there every time we visit as well. I will continue to frequent TJ's Deli.
