We saw the ads on Facebook for their breakfast special and gave it a try! Well worth it! We (two adults and a kid) ate (with 3 drinks) for $21ish. That is insane in this world today. So cheap for a delicious and filling breakfast! We saw the hot bar already prepped for the day and the menu that truly includes something for everyone. The service was quick and the servers were so nice. The decor is clean and welcoming. Lots of Christmas decor right now for the holiday. We are adding this to our "eat out" places for sure! I have been following Westtown on social media and have wanted to try their food. It was too warm to try the soup flight they are know for so instead we tried their burger baskets. I had the Greek burger with onion rings and my son had the double cheese burger with fries. The burgers were flavorful and not dry at all. i loved the Greek topping on my burger. The homemade onion rings were excellent as well. My son loved his burger and fries. The server was really nice and gave great recommendations. She recommended their red velvet cake which was really tasty. My son had their chocolate cake which you could tell it was homemade. Overall we had a great lunch and plan to come back to try more food. read more

This diner, under new management, is now open for breakfast, so I stopped in to try their version of Huevos Rancheros. While it was not a bad dish, it was far from a traditional approach to this breakfast staple. The ranchero sauce is usually composed of tomatoes (fire roasted), chile peppers ( Serrano or Jalapeño), onions, garlic, and cilantro - all but the cilantro are often roasted. The items are then blended in a food processor, before being placed in a pot with a little hot oil for 3 - 5 minutes, allows the sauce to thicken a bit. The sauce here was not blended or cooked, but was a rather coarse chop, with the peppers as a separate chop - these things diminished the overall flavor of the sauce which is a key element of the dish. This dish requires that tortillas be lightly fried, and then placed on a serving plate for each diner. Then the tortillas are generously spread with refried beans, then 2 fried eggs are added (sunny side up or over easy), and then plenty of the ranchero sauce comes next, and the whole thing is topped off with cheese and chopped cilantro. As I said, this was not all that bad a dish, but it does lack the robustness and layers of flavors found in traditional Huevos Rancheros! Unfortunately found neither. The kitchen looked hectic and disorganized. The food was all frozen Sysco food. Under seasoned and overcooked. The waitstaff was preoccupied discussing shifts and overtime (or something closely related). Took awhile to get their attention that I pre ordered and prepaid (nearly $50 for 3 entrees). I have been here a few times and so far have enjoyed every meal I have ordered. This is like a family old school Diner. They have breakfast, lunch, & dinner available, so there is something for everyone. There is plenty of seating, both tables and booths. There is also a private back room available to reserve/rent for private events. The owner always comes out from the kitchen to say hello and check on customers. His entire staff is very friendly and attentive. Our coffee & drinks are always kept filled. My only complaint previously was that they were not open on Sundays! Well, I can no longer complain. We now have a place for brunch after church and with great reasonable affordable prices that will keep you coming back. You can enjoy a great meal with drink for under $12! Today I went with the Fiesta Omelette with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, Turkey, bell peppers and Serrano peppers for a kick. I held back on the onions since I hate cooked onions. It comes with a side choice so I got a fruit cup with pineapple, strawberries & grapes.....refreshing! The omelette was not too heavy, it was the perfect amount of each ingredient so you could savor every bite. My wife got the Gallo Pinto, which is a traditional Costa Rican Breakfast. It has two eggs cooked to your liking with mixed rice & beans and plantains. This reminded her of breakfast in her country of El Salvador. She loved it and said it reminded her of her mother's cooking. My daughter wanted something different and ordered the Fried Chicken, egg & cheese biscuit sandwich. It was huge and messy but so worth it.....her words, not mine. I did however witness her use a lot of napkins....lol. Overall a fabulous brunch, great coffee and lots of options for next time. My expectations were low for this restaurant, and it was pretty much what I expected. The good parts are the friendly service and cheap food prices. Good in that regard to get something to eat on the cheap. Food came out fast and hot. The diner was pretty clean as well. What the place lacks, at least from my first experience, is flavor. I got the steak egg and cheese sandwich which was bland and some gristle noted in the steak, perhaps a bit over cooked for my order as well. My wife got the burger with fries and onion rings, and my kids got the spaghetti and fried chicken tenders with mac and cheese. None of it had any notable flavor to speak of, and the "Texas toast" was a joke. Salad was mediocre too. They have a hot bar that I'd be interested in trying another time, and some of the desserts looked pretty good too. Coffee was average, but they did a good job at keeping my cup topped off. Sigh. I wanted this experience to be so delicious. I met a friend after seeing their flights on local social media so we wanted to check them out. The star of their show seems to be the hot bar-lots of folks coming in for take out and actually ordering for there too. Menu is the usual diner foods. Our waitress was scattered but nice and they charged me wrong. I ordered the soup flight-French onion, vegetable, and chicken tortilla. The vegetable was made with marinara sauce and it was the best one-really nice touch. The French onion was salty and chicken tortilla was super basic. I wanted them both to be more flavorful. I was supposed to have the mini grilled cheese but ended up with the regular. The house salad was good-homemade with looooots of sour cream so it was thick. My friend ordered the pasta flight and was disappointed with the lack of flavors. Such good ideas but maybe need some work. read more

We got seated right away and that was very exciting by the young man at the door a few more ppl got seated about 5 or more minutes after us they got they're drinks and appetizers and we are still waiting for someone to come and ask us for anything I locked eyes with the guy who set us down he then came over ask if he can get us something to drink while he gets our waitress which he did. She came over within two minutes and she had walked by us four or five times prior i would think that she knew what table she had but anyway let start with the food Soup, Flight , with broccoli& cheddar, gumbo and Pollo picado they all tasted pretty good, some of them needed hot sauce and salt. Some of them need nothing. 8 out 10 My girlfriend got the ribeye and shrimp .order the ribeye, medium got it well done told the waitress she got it fixed right away but with the wrong steak gave us some thin sliced top sirloin definitely not ribeye so 1 out 10 I ordered the marinade steak with side of banana puddings the steak was over cooked but I did not make a big deal out of it because it still tasted really good and if it would have came out medium it would've been perfect So it gets 8 out 10 I also got chopped sirloin they just need to call it what it is a burger patty with onions on top 1 out 10 The chicken pie was good just added a bit more salt to it 7.5 out 10 For sides we got Mashed potato 6 out 10 Mac and cheese 4 out 10 Corn 3 out 10 Onion rings 8.5 out 10 Greek style fries 8 out 10 We also got the mimosa Flight , and they did not have no more of the boards but all in all great deal, and the peach mimosa was definitely my favorite got the pineapple, strawberry and peach mimosa Flight 10 out 10 Now the only reason they are not getting a 2 star is because even though I waited almost 25 minutes to get acknowledged by anyone after I got seated, the young man at the door and my waitress After knocked it out the park they worked with us may sure my drink was never empty and was very friendly and helpful so the service picked up those extra points for them. Ok, full disclosure.... I'm not a fan of diners, I know it's so very Un American of me! I expected to leave WestTown disappointed and underwhelmed but I was pleasantly surprised on this trip. I got the Greek omelet with bacon and it was flavorful and stuffed full of tomatoes, spinach and feta. The home fries were crispy and seasoned nicely too. My friend ordered the two egg breakfast that comes with a third egg free if requested. She's southern by birth and gave the accompanying biscuit and sausage gravy a thumbs up. The mimosa flight was disappointing as it tasted more like juice than a bubbly mimosa. But at $10, it shouldn't surprise anyone that it isn't heavy on the alcohol. I would suggest bumping up the price and balancing out the ratio. All in all, I typically avoid diners that have such extensive menus but for a solid breakfast at a great price, I will visit WestTown again. On a fun note, they've recently added a soup flight after a social media post on a "Winston Eats FB Page" requested that such a thing should exist. So far, great reviews on that so maybe I'll try that next time too! Service was fast and friendly ....ambiance is what you would expect. ...Nice family run, casual spot! West Town restaurant has been a local favorite for many years and I was recently able to visit for a meal with my father. He has been going to West Town so long that everyone working there knows his name. The server was very friendly and made it easy to order. I chose the hot ham and cheese sandwich and chicken and rice soup. The soup was flavorful, not unlike the kind you could make at home. I wish it had more broth, but you won't miss out on chicken and rice. The hot ham and cheese was standard fare and it was good. Came in on a Friday around 5:20 pm and was greeted by a nice host who sat me quickly and then my waitress named Laci was super friendly and attentive to me while having others to serve. Laci helped me navigate the menu, while helping me understand what items come with other food items. The food came out quick and was hot. Love the burger and mozzarella sticks. The whole restaurant seemed very clean and put together. I really enjoyed my time and great service! read more

I had been hearing talk about Westtown Restaurant offering a soup flight with rotating flavors each Friday, and I was stoked to try it. I'd never eaten here before, but I was surprised to see how cheap most things on the menu were. As far as the soup flight, I highly enjoyed the experience. It seemed that the potato soup might have sat there for a minute or two before getting to me, but it was still fine. That's really my only complaint. Friendly wait staff and plenty of options. Inedible is the only fit description I could give it. I was just in this Restaurant less than an hour ago I ordered Tilapia and shrimp, half onion rings and french fries to take out. I paid just a little over $14 for it. After waiting nearly 20 minutes I received the food and I left the restaurant. I arrived home and open the container only to find that I was served food that must have been sitting on the counter all day, or worse. It was not at all freshly cooked. Stale and inedible is more like it. Absolutely terrible. I wouldn't dare eat it for fear I would probably get sick. If I hadn't traveled so far from there now, I would take it back to them. I'm giving this local spot 5 stars because I don't know of anywhere else in this town where you can get 2 fat delicious all beef hotdogs, fries and a drink for only 7.99! Tons of food. Buns are toasted, dogs are high quality big beef dogs, cooked to juicy perfection, slaw was good and so was the chili! Service was prompt and very courteous. Everyone was smiling and welcoming. I intend to go back and try some of their other menu items, which may or may not alter my rating. It is my understanding that the Alfredo sauce is made in house from fresh ingredients and is delicious. I will definitely try it sometime. For now though, for a tasty, reasonably priced lunch, this place impressed me and deserves my 5 star rating. read more

It's important to frame things based on what you can reasonably expect when visiting a place like this. When the sign out front is advertising a medley of $4.95 specials from every type of cuisine known to man, and then you walk in to find a hybrid cafeteria/diner style establishment, everything is going to be a bit of a wild card. This place is close to my work, and my coworkers really enjoy it for some reason, so I've ended up here thrice thus far. Of those three visits, I had one good meal, one bad one, and one that tasted good but was awfully greasy and gave me bad indigestion. I could write a whole bunch of good and bad, but really, to try to predict what you could expect on any given dish is almost impossible day to day. I had a great chicken souvlaki pita one day, followed by an impossibly bad gyro on the next visit. I think the most important thing I could say about this place, is that I don't think I would come here on my own dime. If someone else really wanted it and is paying the extremely cheap price, I'd go for it, but I don't think my dollars are going to flow here anymore. read more

Looking for affordability in your dining options? There's no doubt that Westtown is budget friendly. But the quality of the food is in line with the price. Think of hospital food, but with the portions being a bit bigger. There's a cafeteria style serving line of you want to go that option, or there's also a menu to order from. The menu is a mess of diner style foods and some Greek-influenced choices (as is common in this area; I call it "Greek-ish" because it doesn't measure up to the Greek food I've had just about anywhere else). No matter what I've ordered, I've always found the flavors to be flat and plain, if much flavor at all. The staff members I've encountered have always been pleasant and helpful. It's a shame the food isn't better and the menu more refined. But I guess it's a matter of getting what you pay for. read more

They have the Meat and two sides each day, many delicious pasta dishes, burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads. It comes with a salad and bread(I chose garlic toast). West town isn't fancy gourmet fare. It's home cooked stick to your ribs at your Greek grandma's house kind of stuff. It's just good. Big bonus is it's about as inexpensive to eat here as it is to cook it at home! Seriously, $4.75 for a huge portion of pasta plus salad and bread. I'm stuffed for the rest of the day. My husband ordered Salisbury Steak, mashed potatoes and coleslaw, plus came with bread(he chose cornbread) all from the Meat and two menu options. The flavors were good. The gravy had nice seasoning and the mashed potatoes were creamy. The Salisbury Steak wasn't my favorite. The favor was fine but to me just tasted like a low quality frozen "beef-like" patty instead of something that should have been homemade. The cornbread was a bit dry and lacked the sweetness I like. The coleslaw was yummy though and was a nice contrast to the savory meal. If you go to Westtown, I'd recommend any of the pasta dishes. Recently, we stopped here for dinner because we haven't been here in years. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. The restaurant wasn't super busy, but we waited 10 minutes to be seated. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone actually greeted us. The young server was dressed like she was going to a club with friends, and somewhat inappropriate for this type of restaurant. We ordered our drinks, unsweetened tea and water. The guy bussing tablets brought us our drinks. A few minutes later, the server asked if we were ready to order. We ordered spaghetti a la venus and a salad. After a while, we got our salad. They were tiny, like a handful of lettuce one cucumber and a little sprinkle of cheese. They we good and fresh, but tiny. The salad dressing, blue cheese and ranch, we excellent Eventually we got our food. Usually it's a huge plate filled with noodles, lots of sauce sautéed peppers and onions, and smothered in mozzarella cheese. What we got was a tiny child's portion of food. It hardly had any peppers or onions and just a little sauce with a circle of cheese in the middle. This is not what I was expecting. Another server filled our drinks while our server was having a blast with the customers at another table. She walked by and sat our check on the table and told us to pay up front. We wanted to order dessert. She had to go ask what they had for dessert. She came back seemingly confused and listed the desserts. We both ordered pie, chocolate and lemon. While they tasted fairly good we could tell they had been sitting in the refrigerator for a while. They were served on plates covered with plastic wrap and a toothpick in the middle. This place is the perfect small town, weekly family ritual, good value place. It has the classic casual southern restaurant offerings (tenders, spaghetti, fried fish, salads, burgers, and of course- something "Greek"). The best part of Westtown is definitely the value. Never has a salad felt so unhealthy- delicious ranch with 5 thick, juicy tenders piled high. It was impossible to get a bite without chicken (which I enjoyed especially since I wasn't expecting a super health salad)- all for $8.55. My company got some of the specials, which boasted a less than $7 price tag. No way to leave here empty. Is it the healthiest? No. Is the best quality/from scratch meal in a 10 mile radius?
