Came on a Tuesday night and we were seated right away. Restaurant was full, but they took our orders right away and served our food. We ordered the hamburger hot stone and spicy braised beef short rib. The hamburger hot stone was good, but I liked the spicy braised beef short rib so much better. It was delicious even though I wished they added rice cakes. I also liked the interior! Very cute. Its a small restaurant, but awesome food! Con: when we were done eating and asked for a box and check, we waited another 20 minutes for them. We went around 5pm on a Friday and there was no wait but around 6pm it looked like most seats were filled. As I was getting ready to leave I asked for to-go boxes to pack our left overs since we had an almost full plate of bulgogi left. I asked for a tiny container to pack the side dishes (free of cost) and our server refused to give it to me. He actually admit that he understands it's a waste of food but he can't give me another container. I offered to pay, to literally take my little portion of my onion/radish side dish home and he refused. Wasting food is not an option in our household because there are so many people around the world starving to death! I'm assuming they don't pack any side dishes when you order to go! Which I highly doubt is the case. It doesn't make sense no matter how you look at it. I will definitely not return for this reason alone. The servers were really nice, polite and friendly. They really make sure they give their customers a great service. The ambience was really cute. The placenis not too big and not too small, lots of tables and seating. I just feel like it's a little tight inside but it's okay since most if the tables Are divided into booths. The food was really good! We orders the Hot Stone Bulgogi, Hot Stone Bibimbap with bulgogi (+$2), steamed juicy pork dumpling (take note though, it isn't juicy like none of the dumpling had juice coming out) but it's good. This is a brand new Korean spot in Northridge and of course I had to come and try it. First impressions when I walked in is that the space is very small but also very aesthetic. Even though I went with a group of 7 people (including myself), we were still able to be seated in about 15 minutes. Honestly, when I first saw the menu, I knew that I had to give their tofu soup a try. You have the option to pick beef or seafood and I went with beef. It was flavorful and the tofu was soft, just to my liking! The banchan that was served was also delicious. As a whole group, we shared the suyuk and when paired with the garlic paste, SO GOOD. I've been keeping an eye for this place to open. So when it did, I just had to go check it out. Went with the husband and two kids. The ambiance is lovely and the service was friendly. We had two small children and they are not the cleanest and most quiet of patrons but the servers were sweet to them. The food was NOMMZ and hit the spot for all four of us. Located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. Casual and compact eatery. I don't have much experience in Korean food, this was my second time. For me it takes a bit of time to get used to as meat I tasted were kind of fatty ,chewy and I was not a fan. Next time we went, I ordered the marinated dumplings which were good and I like them. They bring 4-5 sides with any order. Prices are good for the portion they serve. It gets very crowded on dinner time but quiet and more pleasant during lunch time. Great Korean Food and Service! We went on a Saturday night when it's usually very busy and we were on a waitlist for about 20 mins for a party of 2. Plenty of parking outside. The Japchae is the best I've had. It has truffles inside which I really love. We also enjoyed the Bulgogi Hot stone & the Marinated Dumpling. The serving is pretty big and you can share with a party of 2 or more. They don't serve alcoholics yet as of this writing. Nice and cozy ambiance inside. A remarkably intimate Korean restaurant north of the 118. The interior is designed like an olden Korean food court. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is the pricing. Maybe i just remember a time where Korean food was cheaper, but maybe that's too much to ask so far away from K-town. The food is excellent though. The Tofu Stew (soon tofu) was piping hot and filled with all the usual goodies. The Gogi Soon Tofu (beef tofu stew) had large chunks of meat rather than the smaller almost ground beef style of beef. Made it a little tougher, but that's really the only complaint. The Galbi Tang (Beef Shortrib Stew) was perfect. The glass noodles, to the huge piece of rib with the large chunks of meat. Piping hot and ready to eat, it tastes just like any other solid galbi tang. I can't see any complaints with this soup. The service took a little big longer than expected, but I think that's just because of the busy nature of this restaurant and the type of food that takes a little bit longer to make. read more

Came here around 9pm on a Friday and they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes of checking in. As we sat down, they brought out some banchan for us to enjoy while we wait for our food. The banchan was mostly pickled/kimchi items. I wish they had bean sprouts or potato, but what they brought out was good. It definitely needed to be pickled a little longer though. So we ordered the beef tofu soup, spicy tofu soup, pork katsu with curry & mushroom japchae. We definitely over ordered here because they give you a lot of food. Both soups were very good and hit the spot on a 48 degrees night. The spicy tofu soup was so flavorful and probably the best I've had so far. The beef soup was pretty good, but not as flavorful as the spicy tofu. The pork katsu curry was really good. They give you 2 pork cutlets sliced up. It was good, but also lean. There were a couple of slices where I can taste the fat. I wished it had more fat than that, but it was still good. The best dish of the night goes to the mushroom Japchae. We were told that it has truffle oil on it and asked if we were ok with that. When it came out, you can smell the truffle. I wouldn't say it's super strong, but definitely you can tell what it is. The noodles was nice and chewy and the umami flavor of the dish was fantastic. This is a must if you come here. Besides the food, the staff were fantastic. They attended to our every need. The restaurant is a little tight so large parties will be difficult to accommodate and will most likely be split up in to different tables. read more

My girlfriend and I were excited to try out this new spot for a while-- the interior looked great, very trendy and clean looking, etc. Once we sat down, we looked through the menu and felt a bit annoyed that the prices were overpriced and high for what the restaurant was offering. We enjoy eating korean food and staple soup dishes in the menu all ranged at least $16 and up. The entrees were simple too in nature-- for example, the 'military soup' included instant ramen, spam, ham, rice cake, vegetables, and american cheese, and was priced at $17+! We were surprised and did not want to spend so much per person, so we opted to share one meal together. We picked the bulgogi hot stone plate, which is priced at almost $26 At first sight, it looks plentiful. The plate was shallow however, with the meat grazing a small layer around the rice. It was also an extra $2 to add an egg ontop. It tasted great, definitely authentic Korean flavoring. But once we finished the meal, we left and later looked around to eat at a different place. It was good try for our first time, and it was nice to have Korean food at a convenient place, but we will probably not come back. read more

We finally have a galbi jjim restaurant in the valley! They just opened last night and I'm glad that the quality is already on par with the Buena Park location. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was phenomenal. Galbi jjim (braised short ribs) 10/10: way better than sun nong dan. Meat is more tender, flavor is better, slightly smaller, but much cheaper. If you come here for one dish, it's gotta be the galbi jjim (definitely shareable between 2-3 people). Seafood pancake 9.5/10: probably one of the best seafood pancakes I've had. Extremely large and very shareable. It's filled with seafood and the hot stone keeps it hot and crispy. Garlic SuYuk 9/10: new dish on their menu and it did not disappoint! Pork belly was tender and flavorful especially with the garlic paste and soaking in the beef bone broth. I'd say only thing is you can't just get this on its own, you have to eat it with other dishes. Chicken katsu curry 8.5/10: a good solid katsu curry. Nothing that really stands out, just a good comfort pick if you're in the mood for katsu curry. Dumplings 8.5/10: these were delicious, crispy on the outside, juicy filling, flavor was good, I just wouldn't go out of my way to get these. Overall an absolutely amazing experience and I'm so glad Jin Cook opened in the area. Arrived on Tuesday right at opening. The staff is very nice and attentative. Throughout the meal, staff was constantly checking in asking if everything was okay. I've been twice and the music is always very upbeat, but not too loud. Food was amazing!!! The rose rappoki was some of the best I've had! Braised short ribs were amazing! They were definitely on the spicier side, so I'd be cautious of that if you can't handle spice. Dumplings were good, but nothing too special. This review is only for the seol leong tang bone broth. The restaurant seemed really popular with the local community, so maybe they were mostly getting something else. On first sight, broth was very cloudy which means the cooking was rushed. No depth or slightly nutty richness. Thinking I was biting into a daikon, I got a fatty mouthful of beef tallow. Turns out there was a ton of fat in the bowl. With every bit I fished out, my stomach turned a bit thinking of the fattiness in place of expected richness. Banchan selection not especially interesting. Pickled onions and vinegary cabbage were not my favorite. Service was friendly, but a bit dysfunctional.
