The name Hodori brings back so many memories from our college and young adults days, so we've been excited to finally check out the Northridge location. We stopped by on a Tuesday for lunch, and nostalgia definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal. The Jjolmyeon has always been our all-time favorite from the LA location, so ordering it was a no-brainer. And wow... it somehow tasted even better here! We also ordered the Yuk Kalguksu (육칼국수) and Gun Mandu (군만두), and everything hit the spot. The Yuk Kalguksu came with such a generous portion that I happily finished the noodles, enjoyed some of the rich, spicy broth, and still had enough soup and beef to box up for another meal. Talk about a bonus dinner! The mandu was perfectly crispy and paired so well with the refreshing, chewy jjolmyeon. For us, a restaurant earns a spot in our regular rotation only if it checks three boxes: delicious food, friendly service, and cleanliness. Hodori easily checks all three. In fact, I came back after work the very same day to pick up dinner for the family (because one visit clearly wasn't enough ). We ordered Galbi Ugeoji Haejangguk (갈비 우거지 해장국), Galbitang (갈비탕), Tteokbokki (떡볶이), Samgyetang (삼계탕), and Yukgaejang (육개장). I placed the order before leaving work, and by the time I arrived about 15 minutes later, everything was neatly packed and ready to go. As a working mom, finding a restaurant that serves delicious food, offers great service, and makes takeout this effortless feels like striking gold. Very good food! I had the galbi tang and it was delicious, especially the broth was excellent. The family had a bunch of other dishes and everyone was happy! Service was sparse but helpful and kind. Prices are slightly high for some things but then the price of beef is so high and unpredictable it's understandable. There are some good deals on their menu too. Very clean and plenty of space. I was craving Korean food, came across this spot on Yelp, and decided to give it a try through Uber Eats. I'm glad I did. First impressions were excellent. The food arrived piping hot, and I appreciated the thoughtful presentation, especially the reusable delivery bag--a nice touch that made the experience feel a bit more premium. As for the food, it definitely delivered. Everything was flavorful, well-prepared, and the portions were generous. My only minor disappointment was that my order arrived without chopsticks or a spoon, which made enjoying the meal a little inconvenient. Yum! I was craving Korean food and saw that Hodori 365 was a fairly new restaurant in my area, and it was open late! They have a pretty big menu, so it was a little difficult for me to decide from all the delicious options. I ended up going with the bibimbap and it did not disappoint. The portions were really generous and I had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. My partner had the japchae and was pleased; we were both pleasantly surprised by the pieces of meat in the dish and the rich flavor of the mushrooms. Banchan was good, customer service was fine, and the space itself had plenty of seating and was clean and tidy. We were really excited to check out this Korean pub and have a fun night out with friends. The atmosphere was great, and we were looking forward to trying the food and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill after we placed our order. We ordered as soon as we sat down and ended up waiting about an hour without any food. Meanwhile, tables that were seated well after us were getting their meals before we did. We asked the staff multiple times for an update, and it honestly felt like our order had never been put into the system. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. What was disappointing was the lack of communication and accountability. A simple apology and owning up to the mistake would have gone a long way. It also would have been nice if they had offered a small gesture to make up for the inconvenience, even something as simple as a complimentary soju bottle or another small item while we waited. Instead, we were left waiting with very little explanation. I really wanted to love this place because the vibe is great, but the service completely overshadowed the experience. Came by to try their lunch special, which is offered Monday to Friday 12-4 for dine-in only. I dropped by for lunch on Wed around 1 pm and it wasn't crowded at all, with only 2 other tables occupied. As part of the lunch special, you can get the below dishes for $12.99: -kimchi jjigae / kimchi stew -deonjang jjigae / soybean paste stew -tteok mandu guk / dumpling and rice cake stew -sulung tang / beef soup They have a large menu of regular Korean dishes as well, but I didn't look too closely at it because I was here for the lunch special. I got the dumpling and rice cake stew. There wasn't much beef and it only comes with 4 dumpling, so it was light on the meat and heavy on the rice cakes, but I really enjoyed the flavor of the soup. It's served with some complimentary banchan as well: corn, bean sprouts, mashed potato, and kimchi, so I thought overall it was pretty good value. For dessert, we went next door and ordered a mango bingsoo / shaved ice from Boba Go. It was SO good and a great way to end the meal! We were so hungry we ate all the food before posting this review. All I can say though is nothing impressive. All we order was the chewy noodles, octopus stir fry, and LA Galbi (half an order). We preferred Togo and all I can say is the person on w phone is soooo rude. These 3 dishes =$80, we only got 2 strips of the Galbi which is over burnt and not enough to even feed my 8 years old son after we cut out the bone. The octopus was decent and portion is good but nothing special. As for the chewy noodles, it's just meh. Hodori 365 surprised me, since I had associated Hodori with a spot in LA - didn't expect one this close! It's attached to a boba shop, but I visited one night after climbing nearby, hungry for dinner! Service was on the slower end, though everything is otherwise welcoming and efficient. Korean food is no stranger to my belly, but I definitely had to try their chewy noodles (jjolmyeon) and wow did it hit the spot! It's like bibimbap in that it does require some mixing, but the presentation was neat and organized. Each ingredient was different enough in that you could enjoy the sweets, the sours, and the changes in texture with the occasional palate cleanse from cucumber and carrots. That, or you can mix everything together - both tasty options! I also tried their chicken noodle soup, a dish much tastier in my mind. The amount of noodles was generous but chicken not so much. Everything tasted as expected of boiled chicken, not too exciting but you know it'll be healthy. Their side dishes here are amazing, and they always unfortunately need a double serving (for me, a party of one). Their kimchi is amazing, their corn is unique, the mashed potatoes have apple - yum - and can't go wrong with some well-marinated bean sprouts. This new Korean food spot is an absolute must try!! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and have a great sense of humor! Lots of parking outside since it is shared with the target and Kohl's shoppers. Replaced the old epic wings spot and plenty of seating inside! They have HUGE portions here. I am so glad we found this gem! According to our server, Hodori 365 has only been open for about a month, but they are already on our rotation of good Korean restaurants in the valley. We tried the Soon Tofu and the Galbi, and both were absolutely delicious. Honestly, the Soon Tofu was probably the best I've had in the Valley in a very long time. My family and I used to drive all the way to K-Town just to get high-quality Soon Tofu, but we don't have to make that trek anymore! The restaurant is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly. Came on a recommendation and was glad I did. We ordered the kalbi jjim with extra cheese, which is a family size meal (and honestly feels out of place in a menu that's geared towards single entrees) and it was a ton of food, enough for 4 people! It comes with sides and they will provide gloves and bibs if needed - and I needed them, I never do well with saucy Korean food. The waiters were also very attentive as well. Personally, I would have liked more French fries in the dish, and maybe more napkins, but we had our own to supplement. There are so many terrific Korean restaurants in Northridge, but this one might just be my favorite. They have an extensive menu of absolutely delicious soups, and I've tried so many other dishes that were all great. Favorites off the top of my head are the soybean paste stew, the tteokbokki and the kimchi fried rice, which is way more delicious than it has any right to be! All dishes are very large and shareable, so even though some may appear pricey, you definitely get your money's worth. It would be nice if they would expand their banchan though. We went here on Father's Day, and it was nice because there was no wait like everywhere else in the area. We had a party of eight and they had a few TVs on for the kids, which is nice. Was seated immediately on a Friday at 4 PM, which was great. The space is big, staff were friendly, and there's plenty of parking in the lot. Ordered the kimchi fried rice and medium beef galbi. Hodori is my favorite spot right now, I have been at least once a week for the past two months. The menu is so extensive and diverse that I try to order something new every time but I am constantly going back to the kimchi jjigae or the galbi tang. Service here is like a warm hug from an auntie almost every time I go. This was a great spot for World Cup viewing too! When the games aren't playing, the ambiance is still nice and immerses you into some good Korean music. We ordered the Kimchi Bokkeumbap, Chicken Bulgogi, and Jjolmyeon, everything was so delicious and the portions were super generous. Definitely made the mistake of ordering way too much for just two people no complaints because we had amazing leftovers. Excited to see Hodori opened in the Northridge area. I've been going to the original Ktown location since the 90s as a late night hangout. Happy to report that the Korean comfort food here is similar although slightly less variety. The food quality is solid and authentic. This place knows what it is and gives it to you as the best of its kind. It's basic Korean fare, nothing fancy, but fresh and good and satisfying. We loved it. The service is friendly and clear with info on some of the more obscure offerings on the extensive menu. At first I was taken aback by some of the pricing--$33 for bulgogi? Then I saw the size of the order and realized that plate could easily satisfy four people. The same's true with the short ribs, priced somewhere around $55. We had beef bulgogi in the stone pot with a lot of veggies at a very reasonable $17 or so. Don't hold me on those prices. I can't recall the exact amounts. The meats were of good quality. Beef bulgogi can come gristly, but not at this place. Tender and delicious. Ditto the phenomenal spicy pork, which will now be always on our order. Hot stuff! No stinting on the heat and spiciness here. The best! There was a nice assortment of Korean extras, 'natch, although less than one might expect in a more upscale place in K-town. The kimchi was surprisingly mild, but still a nice taste. You can order more which they brought us at no extra cost. The dumplings were large and good. Not necessarily top of the line good, but good, if a little bland. We may not order those again. Those stone pots and that outstanding pork made our first meal there memorable, and we know we'll return to eat our way through the menu. Too many good-sounding things to eat! The room's pleasant, but large with little in the way to make it cozy or intimate. The style's the same as many authentically Asian places-- clean, brightly lit and attractive, in a well-kept bus station kind of way. It fit our day nicely. We were waiting for Hodori 365 to open up. Sad to see we missed it by a couple weeks, but glad we were able to make it in. Obviously with it being new, the restaurant was super clean. However, I love that Hodori 365 did not skimp on the details. And me, I'm all about the fine details. I believe it can really set you apart from the others. When you focus on the small details it means you care about every aspect from A to Z. We were sat right away. Place setting was really cute, and clean. I ordered the galbi ugeoji haejangguk (hangover soup) I prefer my galbi to be fall off the bone tender, however the taste was delicious and was very warming on a cold night like tonight. My hubs ordered the mul naengmyun, it had a funny taste, but the staff must have been watching closely because as soon as we questioned it, without hesitation they came over and recitified it immediately. They made him a new bowl and the taste was much better! Banchan was fresh and delicious! All the food tasted great! We aren't sure if it was because we were hungry. Or if it in fact, just delicious.
