What a great spot for lunch! We came in at 2pm, having late lunch. We were greeted promptly. You order and pay at the counter and sit yourself. The café style setting is inviting. Our banchan came out within a couple of mins. The TV is playing korean reality shows. Our food came out very quickly! We ordered the lunch galbi and hotstone bibimbap. The galbi was flavorful and tender. Probably came with 8 pieces but I didnt count. The bibimbap is a huge serving (this wasn't on the lunch menu) and stayed so hot. Loved that the rice was crispy at the end. The mixing were very flavorful. Quintessential bibimbap. Watch for the bowl, you'll burn your hand even after eating for 20min. You know its a legit korean spot when you see the boxes of spoons and stainless steel chopsticks on the table. When I am back in Plano, ill be back for a business lunch. read more

A classic! Located in a strip mall with various cuisines including Mexican, Vietnamese, Filipino, and Italian eateries. Their kimchi jigae is so good. Even with a change in owners throughout the years, the taste remains familiar. Can say the same for the kimchi pancake, spicy squid stir fry, and bean paste soup. Prices have gone up with inflation but there also aren't as many Korean restaurants in the area, so it makes sense. Wish their dine-in hours were more flexible. They have re-opened dining but only until 3 PM, for lunch. It's great that they have lunch pricing on Saturdays though, and not just on the weekdays. read more

We ventured back to this restaurant and actually stayed, ordered and ate lunch there after our encounter with the horribly unpleasant old waitress from over 4 years ago. The setup is different now with orders taken at the counter. The current owner is nice and friendly. The food is brought to your table, and you help yourself to water, extra bowls or utensils. The restaurant is also very neat and clean. We ordered the seafood tofu soup and bulgogi. Both tasted good. The side dishes were also very fresh and tasty. Go here for your Korean food fix.. the place is run by a husband and wife elderly Korean couple who freshly prepare and serve your food. The menu is small and concise but contains all your Korean hits.. I ordered the Bibimbap which came in a dolsot hot stone bowl, alongside a wide variety of tasty banchan accompaniments.. So I just found my favorite authetic korean restaurant. I absolutely love Korean stew and I have been searching for a great local place and I stumbled upon this place. This restaurant is located in a shopping plaza next to a Mexican restaurant. It's a very humble place run by a very nice family. My favorite dish is the Goat stew (yeomso tang). They serve an absolutely delicious yeomso tang stew here! The chunks of goat meat are huge and it comes with veggies in the soup. It is a hit in the wintertime! It came with sides of white rice, kimchi, fish cake, bean sprout, seaweed, and sweet potatoes. I also ordered a side of kimchi pancake which was absolutely delicious as well! I was blown away and it took me 2 days to finish all this food because the portion sizes are huge. Definitely share the soup if you dont want to take it home. Glad I came across this place closer to work, but also not happy because now I crave it every day! Quick Korean Food that is good and fills you up. They have lunch and dinner portions and everything I've had has been good over all. Their sides are alwasy refreshing. The fried mackerel is hands down the best one I've at at any Korean restaurant. The tteok-bokki is a favorite of mine. Food always comes out quick and staff are nice. In my opinion the beef items are a little on the over cooked side and the soups need a little salt, but still not bad. read more

They almost always have a bibimbap, tofu pot, and a fried rice dish on that selection. Whenever I come, I always bounce back between their kimchi fried rice or their tofu pot and both are pretty good. I particularly like the kimchi they serve here. I'm not sure if it's because of the brand they buy of the way they make it, but it's always rly flavorful and not too spicy. The service here is meant to be quick and simple and honestly I like it that way as they try to take your order 2-3mins after your sit down. When you come in on a cold day, they give you hot tea instead of water, which is sweet. The menu gives you many choices to pick from, so you shouldn't get bored for eating there all the time. On some days, you just walk in and seat yourself, but I've had days where they seat you themselves. I think it's all depending on how busy it is. The seafood to pancake ratio is excellent; some places really skimp on the amount of actual seafood they put in, but Jin Mi doesn't! In both the lunch specials and when I'm here at dinner, the banchan is great. The nice Korean ladies that run the shop are always friendly and willing to start a conversation with you, as well as come by with more water.
