I tried the lunch buffet at Jin Shabu and it was ok but could've been better. I went with one friend and wished I went with more because we ordered 3 types of meat and they gave us so much of it, we couldn't eat enough to try the rest of what they served. Maybe they would do half portions of meat if we asked but I didn't know they would bring that much. The broths we tried were ok, the sauces I mixed were good. We didn't get the special "free" box because we thought they would just bring it and by the time we could ask for it, we were full. We did ask for the free shaved ice (they don't tell you this is included either as far as I could tell, I found out by eavesdropping on another table lol). We had our "Christmas dinner" here. Upon arrival, we joined the waitlist which is managed by yelp and got regular updates on our status. It was around a 45 minute wait to get a table for two. Once seated, we were immediately given water and ordered barley tea. We chose the "deluxe" meats option. Our server told us how the hinoki box with beef belly, bean sprouts, Chinese chives, and green onions would steam on top of our broths if we want the free box with our order. It was an enormous amount of meat. We chose spicy miso and the original broth (dashi). We waited 20 minutes for the beef in the hinoki box to steam. While we waited for it to steam, we played around at the sauce bar. Eric R. followed the server's recommended recipes, but I made my own blends. There was also a big rice cooker filled with rice. We got rice and I topped it with furikake, chopped green onions, and grated daikon. We enjoyed the beef belly appetizer, and then our broths started bubbling. At the bar we got veggies, tofu, rice cakes, and seafood. Eric R. also got noodles. We filled our hot pots with flavorful items and enjoyed eating them with our dipping sauces. Our water pitcher was refilled and we also got a pitcher of tea at the table. Service was excellent as we were checked on a lot. We only ordered three plates of meat: brisket, wagyu, and lamb. This is our favorite restaurant in Arizona. We have never had a bad meal here. The only con to the restaurant is that they can get super busy so we always eat very early to avoid long waits. We arrived a tad bit later than usual so we were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. It is an all you can eat Shabu Shabu restaurant so I wore my slacks with an elastic waistband. Lol . If anyone is not familiar with Shabu Shabu it is a Japanese hotpot meal where you choose the kind of broth you want to cook in. Then you cook assorted super thin meats, seafood and vegetables in the boiling broth and dip in either Ponzu or a Sesame Sauce. At this restaurant they have a self serve bar for the vegetables, kimchi, noodles and sauces. Then the server brings the meats as you order them. The meat is shaved paper thin so it cooks in a few seconds and is melt in your mouth tender. This is the first time that there was a little gristle in one of the cuts of meat. I think it was just a fluke. If there was a 4.5 star rating I might have taken off half a star for that but with the great service and the perfect history I can give five stars with certainty. The dinner includes Bingsu for dessert. It is a Korean shaved ice with sweet red beans, condensed milk and mochi. It is a Japanese style restaurant that is Korean owned. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HOT POT RESTAURANT IN AZ!!! I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got myself to drive down to Chandler which was totally worth it! The service was amazing and was greeted and sat right away. We ordered the deluxe set and I love how there is an open buffet type area to grab all you can eat veggies, noodles, seafood and other assorted proteins you can add to your hot pot. Not to mention the sauce station which has a variety of sauces and ingredients to make your own favorite dipping sauces. The broths are also super delicious and had tons of flavor. There is also great music playing in the restaurant and table has there own private little section so you can enjoy with your friends. I would definitely recommend coming here and I will be back!! I am originally from the Bay Area and let me tell you this hot pot place hands down is the best hot pot I've eaten. Everything - meat, veggies, seafood, etc are really good quality. I've tried hot pot before, but this one just wins due to quality and taste. So good that my group ate in silence lol. The amount of meat served is very thin and small quantity, but I don't mind since it is really great quality meat and tastes great. In the bay, it is just as expensive but things like seafood and noodles and some of what came at the buffet bar would have to be requested. The condiments were so tasty too, especially the peanut sauce. Service was good, nothing to complain. What a surprising experience, you wouldn't think hot pot in AZ would beat the ones in the Bay Area! Just happened to see a tik tok about this restaurant while in Phoenix. The family are huge fans of hot pot, and when we saw in same strip mall as Lee lees we were in (side note - the Lee lees here is so much better than our Tucson one. The Indian aisle alone is worth going for). Jin Shabu is great. I like that they have the veggie/seafood bar so you can select your own pieces to go into the hot pot easily. Don't miss the meatballs at the bar - really good! You can order the meat in half plates too, so reduce risk of having extra food that are charged for, which also really appreciate. Great selections of broths. I preferred the pork one to the miso but both were good. Make sure to get the dessert that comes with! It was my brother's birthday so my family and I came here to eat for dinner. We arrived right before 7 and were able to get seated right away. It was already pretty busy inside and more people came in after us. We chose the spicy katsuobushi and tonkotsu broths and went with the deluxe AYCE ($36.99/person). We started with the beef belly hinoki box which now comes free (1 per table). For meats, we chose 1 chicken, 1 chuck eye roll, 3 wagyu beef eye round and 1 Australian lamb. We grabbed some veggies, seafood items, kimchi, and made our own dipping sauces. Everything seemed fresh! We felt the 1st round of wagyu was better than the last 2 trays though. I noticed they didn't have any of the fish tofu this time at the buffet. The spicy broth definitely wasn't spicy at all. I also forgot my pure capsaicin hot drops to add to my dipping sauce and broth. It makes it so much better! Overall, it was good. It wasn't my first time here and won't be my last. The only issue I had this time was that the bathrooms weren't clean. Toilet dispensers were empty and the toilet paper was just sitting on top of the dispenser or on the back of the toilet. The smaller stall door hit the toilet when opening and closing. Big stall has a gap where the door locks. Definitely need to redo those stalls! Also, there was no soap or paper to dry your hands with. The sinks outside the bathrooms did have paper and soap though so I rewashed out there. read more

So I went here and honestly it was one of the best dinners I've had in forever. The food was bomb the spicy broth had me sweating but I couldn't stop eating, and the meat was so fresh it basically cooked itself in two seconds. Pretty solid shabu shabu/hot pot spot! It's AYCE -- we always select the premium meat choice with the sukiyaki and Jin original soup base! I love mixing the peanut sauce with sesame oil and some cilantro and green onions! We have slim pickings for hot pot/ shabu places, so while Jin certainly isn't the best, it satisfies the craving for when we're too lazy to make hot pot at home. Jin tastes way better than PK Shabu and Tasty Pot. Service is always prompt and friendly. Meats come to you in what feels like less than 3-5 minutes. Veggies, noodles, sauce, rice, dumplings, and fish/meatballs are self-serve. We've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for a table. Ambiance is clean, casual, and open. I've been going to Jin BBQ for quite while now so I wanted to try their sister restaurant. I went there last night and had an awesome experience. Their food was excellent! Meat was top quality and their broths were delicious. We had their beef brisket and chunk eye rolls and both were delicious in the broth. They had a wide variety of vegetables and meat and all of it was super fresh. Service and ambiance was awesome as well. Restaurant is clean and looks very cool on the inside. We sat in a booth and they actually have curtains separating the booths so you have your own unique experience. The staff were super nice and attentive as well and helped me with understanding how to cook everything because it was my first time trying hotpot. I got off work at 8:30 on a Saturday night and drove 35 minutes to eat dinner. I arrive at 9:05 because based on THEIR OWN WEBSITE they close at 10. I was told immediately they will not seat me and they have a hard cutoff at 9. I asked how was I to know because based on their website they close at 10, to which the host tells me I "should have called them". Another guy walks up and tells me "as my coworker said, we have a hard cutoff, you should have checked Yelp or our website to know that". Rude service, inaccurate descriptions, and since when did Yelp supersede the website- which I also could not find anything regarding a cut off time an HOUR prior to closing. I have mixed feelings about our experience. This was my second time having hot pot and my first experience was AMAZING. So this probably is biased based on my first experience. Our food was good. We had too much meat and didn't love the steamed meat boxes that came free. The fresh beef was definitely better. The sauce bar situation is a little unclean and small. That was my least favorite part. There was always a line backed up at the little sauce bar. It isn't well done, it could be more sanitary and larger to accommodate busy crowds. I had some sanitary concerns as so many people are handling the spoons and sauces. The buffet area was decent. It was a little disorganized and messy. I would have loved more fresh veggie options. We ordered 4 different broths and lots of plates of meat. We definitely over ordered meat, so start slowly. Our table was really understocked with tongs, utensils, napkins, etc. Our service was very very subpar. We all needed water refills within 10 minutes. It was really difficult to get the staff's attention and when we had requests they took a long time. We had to request water a few times before receiving it. I wish things were explained better, we all just had to kind of fend for ourselves. I think more attentive service and better communication would have made the experience so much better. Also desert wasn't offered to us, and upon reading I guess you have to ask? With prices like this, I'd expect more of a "melting pot" experience when it came to the service and we received more of a "McDonald's" experience. read more

This was the first time I went to a place like this. I wasn't sure what to expect. Nice and roomy. The shabu, all-you-can-eat was amazing. I had never experienced this. The portions each, were small, however there was a lot of portions. You cook it at your table, eat all you want, and get more. The brisket, beef belly, prime rib, etc. was very tasty. Make it as spicy as you want. There is a kiosk with ample options and sauces. It is priced on the higher end, however I would say it well worth the price. And the taste was pleasurable. We've been here plenty of times and the first few times I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the last two times I went, the meat quality seems to have gone down and the cuts were not optimal for hotpot. A lot of my meat were cut to be so thick, almost like sizzle steak rather than the thinly sliced hotpot meat expected. This made the meat really hard to chew and the meats were dry. This caused my jaw to get really tired so I couldn't eat more even though I wasn't full yet. read more
