Jing is an asian inspired, jungle themed restaurant with an amazing happy hour and such a fun atmosphere. The whole place honestly feels like you've been transported to Vegas. We ordered the rock shrimp tempura from the happy hour menu (honestly, even better than Nobu), along with the hamachi crunch rolls and garlic fries. For drinks, we had a Pinot Noir, Cosmopolitan, and Prosecco. We also tried the tiger prawn garlic noodles from the dinner menu, and for dessert, we finished with Tiramisu Everything we ordered was delicious, and the happy hour prices made it an even better experience. Our server was amazing and helped us choose since it was our first time there. She also let us know they have live music and a DJ after 8 PM, so the vibe gets even more lively later in the night. Everything was good. I was most looking forward to the short rib dumplings and they were ok, I wouldn't get them again. The spicy wontons were nice and so was the roll, can't remember which I got though. The service was friendly but took almost :10 for the waitress to come to the table. Beautiful inside! Love the bar and it was piping at 4pm on a Thursday! I tried the happy hour Alaskan Snow Crab Roll with seaweed in stead of soy paper wrap. It was definitely unique. A bit less flavorful than I expected but still good and worth trying. I look forward to exploring something new next time. I especially enjoyed dipping it into a side of truffle oil. Highly recommended accent! I also tried the edamame with chili garlic sauce on the side. I didn't care too much for the sauce as it was a thick red sauce that tasted too much like a tomato base and I was hoping for a more fluid consistency and salty, garlic flavor. Wow, the look, feel, and ambience of Jing is incredible! It looks like you're at a vibey and luxurious spot for a date, or it was pulled right out of a fancy spot in Vegas! Vibes and atmosphere is awesome! The food unfortunately was okay and very expensive. My husband and I went during lunch hour and ordered a sashimi plate, spicy wonton, and the Thai chicken & shrimp power bowl. However it took us about 15 minutes to decide what to order because the prices are so high. It was hard to decide to spend $11 on edamame. The taste was good, nothing bad but nothing memorable, especially for the price. The portions were small, especially the sashimi plate and wontons, they were the tiniest and cutest wontons I've had, but I will not be ordering them again. Came here for my friends birthday. She choose this spot. We walk up and greeted the front ladies first. Told them we made reservations on OpenTable at 5pm they check us in and was seated right away. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the service has been slow and the prices are a bit overinflated even for a nicer high end spot. Stuff that I would absolutely recommend are the Wagyu sliders and the tuna pizza! Their HH from 3-6 is pretty legit but the drinks aren't really marked down that much. Love the martini options as well as the old fashioned. Something else worth noting is the wine bottles also are on HH prices! First time at Jing. I will have to say it was pretty lively inside. I loved the option of valet or parking your car. I love restaurants with outdoor parking options. For our appetizers we got the Wagyu boa sliders and short rib dumplings. The short rib dumplings were amazing! Short ribs were really tastefully seasoned. The boa were a let down, it barely had any salt or seasoning. They need to season the Wagyu beef sliders. The black miso cod was tasteful but i felt like the cut was small. The garlic noodles were really good. One of the best sides. The mojitos and dessert I enjoyed. I think Jing has a great menu, items on their menu will always be a hit. Ate here for our anniversary dinner and could not have been happier with our experience. Everything was 5/5- food, ambiance and especially the service!! We had Chad as our server and he made the entire evening so memorable for us. There was a hiccup with our hot stone not being hot enough to sear our wagyu not just once, but twice and it could have made for a sour experience but he was so apologetic and we were all able to laugh about it. Not to mention, as we were discussing desserts and trying to decide between two different ones, he overheard us and brought both desserts on the house to make up for the mishap. We would have been happy regardless of that but it was the cherry on top for us. As for the food, everything was so good!! We got the Hamachi crunch roll, rock tempura shrimp, spicy wontons (all off the happy hour menu) as well as the lobster fried rice and the wagyu on the rock. Sat at the bar. Beautiful ambiance. Service sucked. The two female bartenders clearly have not been trained on how to provide proper service. They spent more time chatting up one of the other patrons instead of paying attention to their duties. We had to kind of bus our own dirty plates and move them off to the side throughout the evening. They did not ask if we wanted clean plates with different courses, we tried numerous items. We had to flag them down several times to order additional items. Dirty silverware hung around our place setting, we literally had to ask people passing by to clear our spots as they brought in new dishes. Overall, we spent around $300 for two people, and the level of service was certainly not commensurate with the price point. A couple of the food items were outstanding - namely, the spicy wontons, and peppercorn tenderloin beef, but sadly the sushi was awful. Wagyu Beef Bao Sliders with tomato, avocado, leeks, jalapeños and chili garlic aioli equals a yummy appetizer, a good start to your meal. Delmonico Ribeye 14oz, nice char outside with a perfect medium rare on the inside, good flavors. The outside had a nice taste with the char and combination of spices and seasoning. Just a slight chewiness on a portion of the cut. Miso Blackcod is a fantastic entree, flavors are excellent and highly recommend. Tender and full of flavor. We also ordered the Mandarin Green Beans with Garlic which are the true Chinese Green Beans Service was nice and there generally when needed. There is a Asian Flair to their dishes, but more American Asian. It you are requesting house water, it is served without ice. I watched for weeks as Jing was being built so I was excited to finally be able to dine here. As you walk up to Jing, you can see it is beautifully decorated inside. The colors are stunning. Jing has a large bar so plenty of seating but for a Thursday night, it was very crowded. While our group waited for our table, we were sat outside at a couch surrounding a fountain. The hostesses were very friendly. The couch looks like it can sit at least 10 people. It has small tables for drinks etc. We sat next to another group of 4 who placed their drink orders but the sever walked away without even looking at us or asking about drinks or menus. After a few minutes of being ignored, I walked up and ask the same server if we could order drinks. Once we ordered, it took several minutes for our drinks to arrive. It was so awkward to be ignored while the people seated right next to us were ordering and being served. I've never experienced that before. Our outside table became available. I will say the outside patio is dull in comparison to the inside of the restaurant. You are staring at the parking lot and all the shopping center signage if you are facing outward. There isn't anything to block the view. If you face inward, you can see the beautiful restaurant decor. The indoor/outdoor seating looked very nice. I wouldn't book the patio in the future. Christian was our server. Christian was excellent and never left us waiting for service. He checked for allergies and offered some great selections from the menu. Christian mentioned the menu items are all meant for sharing so we ordered several items including Wagyu bao beef sliders, Miso Black Cod, avocado roll, Wagyu fried rice, salmon spoon, noodles and the lava cake. We all said the food was tasty. We especially liked the wagyu bao beef sliders and wagyu fried rice. Although it was a rocky start to the evening and I was a little put off by our first server on the patio, I would like to give Jing another try. The food was pretty good. Went to Jing over July 4th weekend with friends and had a great dining experience. We started with the tuna pizza and short rib dumplings as appetizers, and both were excellent. The tuna pizza was fresh and flavorful, while the short rib dumplings were rich and perfectly prepared. For my entrée, I ordered the miso cod, which was outstanding. The fish was flaky, moist, and cooked perfectly, with a delicious miso glaze that complemented it well. For dessert, we had the butter cake served with vanilla ice cream. The wait staff all recommended that we try it. The cake was warm, buttery, and satisfying, and the ice cream was a great addition. Overall, the food was delicious from start to finish, and every dish was well executed. The wait staff was attentive. Celebrated a friend's birthday at Jing, and the space itself is stunning--very Vegas meets Scottsdale. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a great overall atmosphere. We started with several appetizers, which were easily the highlight of the meal. The tuna pizza was creative and delicious. All of the fish tasted very fresh. The wontons were also excellent, with a flavorful sauce that really elevated the dish. Unfortunately, the main courses didn't live up to the appetizers. The meat stir-fry dishes lacked flavor overall. I ordered the Thai basil, which had no spice and very little depth. Another guest ordered the tenderloin, which was also just okay. Of the mains we tried, the wagyu fried rice was the most flavorful and is the one dish I'd recommend. One thing I found odd is that the stir-fries don't come with white rice--I had to add it for an extra $5. Also worth noting: A member of our group tried to order the Peking duck and short rib, and both were sold out. I understand they've just had their grand opening, so I'm willing to give some grace there, but it was still disappointing given the strong reviews. With so much amazing Asian food in the Valley, I'm definitely critical of flavor--especially at a higher price point. Overall, I'd recommend checking Jing out, but I'd suggest trying different main courses than the ones we ordered. read more

We LOVE Jing! As we walked to the entrance the front door "magically" opened with pretty smiling faces to greet us and escort us to our reserved table. A great start to our dining experience. We ordered the starter of Australian Wagyu Hot Rock which was a fun interaction marinating and cooking the tender meat. Entrees were Miso Black Cod, Scottish Salmon w/ beurre blanc sauce and Lobster fried rice. It was a lot of quality food and we managed to eat every flavorful bite! For dessert we had the melt-in-your-mouth tiramisu and gelato. Our Server "Sam" was personable, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items! 5 stars more if I could!! We came to town for a girls' trip and were looking for a great place to eat. The bartender at our hotel told us Jing was incredible, and he was absolutely right! From the moment we arrived, our server, Micaela, provided an amazing experience. She was attentive, friendly, and made our evening even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding. We started with the Crunchy Hamachi Roll and loved it so much that we ordered a second one! The Lychee Martini was delicious and refreshing. The Tenderloin Medallions were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, and the wontons were fantastic. Blue Fin Tina Crispy Rice was absolutely fire i would or this ten times over great crispy rice perfect about of tuna with thin avocado slice !! Last we had the Delmonico Ribeye for your entree I was super stoked for this but definitely feel short definitely wasn't cooked right to temp pretty fatty and i don't mind fat love it but when there more fat then steak and it's $70 bucks it should be a little better of cut . I stopped into Jing right at 3pm for happy hour after a friend strongly recommended it. I was just driving by and figured why not. The bar is set up in a big horseshoe shape and it filled up fast, which made sense once I saw the happy hour menu. It is actually a really good one. They have solid cocktail options and not just basic house wine type stuff. They even had Prisoner on happy hour which is one of my favorites, so that was a nice surprise. I ordered the tuna spoon which was a nice chunk of tuna served with the dry ice presentation, always a fun touch. We also had a couple of rolls and a few drinks and overall the food was good. The space itself is big with a patio and has a good vibe. The downside was the service at the bar. It felt pretty confused. Multiple people tried to take our order at first, then it seemed like nobody wanted to. We ordered a dish that never showed up. They did not charge us for it, but we were waiting and had to double check the bill sitting in the glass in front of us. It just felt disorganized. Good food, great happy hour options, cool space. I found the short rib dumplings to be a great experience. I was totally disappointed with the wedge salad I had them added salmon. The salmon tasted old. Definitely not fresh. We ordered the spicy endamame, who was better toward the bottom with more of the sauce, but they were undercooked. Between the two of us we ordered a filet, prawn lo mein, Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes. Everything was mid at best. My prawns were overcooked, the lo mein was gloried spaghetti with garlic sauce, the filet was pretty yummy, and the sides, were not memorable. Our waitress was great until she cleared my daughter's plate the second she finished eating and I still had more than half my meal. She was still eating the sides. The bathroom was pretty and they use nice hand towels. I had two happy hour cosmos and our bill was close to $200. This place is way overrated and not worth it in my opinion. read more

This place is exceptionally surprising. Think trendy without being pretentious (douchy). 20 yr olds to 40+ seemed to make up the crowd on a Wednesday evening. Attractive crowd, fun staff, strong hospitality -- the kind of atmosphere that works equally well for a date night or a night out with friends trying to actually connect and enjoy themselves. Fun atmosphere/vibes and music! To Executive Chef, Thomas Griese, because the kitchen deserves recognition. The food is fantastic. You can tell there is real technical ability behind the execution: honed knife skills, thoughtful preparation, and attention paid to everything from lighter dishes to heavier fried preparations. Even the bone-in short rib reflected a level of precision and confidence that stood out. Preparation-to-table time was impressive, and when we changed the plating sequence on the fly, both the kitchen and front-of-house adjusted seamlessly without missing a beat. The front of house initially gives off a light, nonchalant energy, but once you start paying attention, you realize how focused the execution actually is. One unexpected bonus was the warmth of the room itself. There was a friendliness among the patrons that made the experience feel shared instead of performative. At one point I dropped my menu and the table next to us immediately picked it up and handed it back with a simple "here you go, my friend" kind of energy. Small interaction, but noticeable. Hopefully the vibe stays this way because it's something a lot of Scottsdale restaurants are missing. Dare I say this may be the new place for happy, wealthy, and genuinely kind people. Is this place a Michelin restaurant? No, not yet. That's what I love -- a great time and excellent food without the stuffiness of most Michelin restaurants. Please note though, with the focus and detail of Exec Chef Thomas and his team, I'm sure it will be sooner rather than later. A lot of restaurants can create a vibe. The menu is interesting and the food we ordered was delicious, although one of our party thought the filet steak itself had no flavor (but the dish itself was flavorful). Especially good were the Peking Duck, Miso fish, appetizers (Rangoon, spicy dumplings and spicey shrimp), and the duck fried rice. Cocktails are interesting and fun.
