I can't believe that I have never tried this place. We stopped in for HH on a Wednesday. Parking was easy and getting a seat at the bar was even easier. The vibe is super chill and the staff all had smiles. We felt welcomed immediately. Our cocktails were crafted beautifully and they were balanced properly. My wife really liked the Cosmo on HH which is rare for her. We tried the signature toasted raviolis, steak soup, and the steak tacos. All the apps were unique and tasted great. The raviolis were probably the best bite of the evening. The pro tip is to get half jalapeno cheese and half meat. The soup would be perfect on a chilly afternoon as it is rich and belly warming. We got 4 cocktails and 4 appetizers on HH for about $100 plus tip. That is pretty good value for quality hooch and food. read more

First of all the place was so cute because it was so old-fashioned Tavern. The best part of the whole time was it was super quiet and not busy. My whole party loved it because we could hear each other talk. The food was good. Hannah Was our server. She was amazing. The fried raviolis which is their house favorite was was good. We had a wedge and a Mayfair salad, which were both delicious had the seafood risotto, fillet and ribeye. All very good. The ribeye was disappointed. It was so thin. I'm just used to a nice big fatty piece, but it still tasted good. Everything tasted delicious. Then for dessert, we had the gooey butter cake, which was OK. I just felt like $25 was a little over the top and it really wasn't cake. It was in a little baby fry pan with ice cream on top so I don't think I would order that again but overall fun evening so quiet great service good food. We probably will come back. read more

The appetizers were excellent. We had the fried rice, the ribeye tacos, and a wedge salad. The entrées were good? My steak was overcooked. (and I thought $30 for a 4 to 5 ounce lobster tail add on was a bit much ) although it really did have good taste. I did not send it back. ( the steak) As I've gotten tired of eating alone. (well waiting for it to be re-fired) I did not mention it. Because I did not want it to be comped or anything. The service was excellent. Not only did our server check on us, I believe a manager checked on us, as well as the chef. I'll let you decide if the Steakhouse overcooked my steak. Went on a recommendation because I had a massive need for Veal Cordon Blu but was told Frashers had Chicken Cordon Blu, and I was like Yup, that will do the trick!!! So glad I went! Loved loved loved my chicken cordon Blu and my friend demolished the steak, perfectly seasoned and temperature. Great spot with excellent bar. Met the owner, George, who has 2 other restaurants in the Valley. His attention to detail in the dishes was exquisite. Justin was incredibly friendly and welcoming, as was the host who greeted me. The bar had a cool atmosphere, though it was relatively quiet for 6 PM on a Friday night. The French onion soup was excellent! I also tried the crispy rice but didn't love the fishy topping, and the rice wasn't as crispy as I expected. Had a phenomenal steak dinner with the boys during our spring training trip. The ribeye was solid and came with some creamy mashed potatoes which were top tier. I really like the soy type glaze they put on the steak. I was tempted to get it on the side but was convinced by our awesome server to have it grilled on. The flavor had a ton of umami but did not overpower the steak flavor. If you're on the fence I would certainly get their signature glaze. As far as ambience you really can't beat this place. It has all the cool steakhouse vibes with baseball nostalgia baked right it. It reminded me of the old Don and Charlie's in Scottsdale. The owner, Greg came by and chatted us up top. We came to celebrate my nephew's graduation from ASU here in Scottsdale because I reviewed the ratings on Yelp! I'm telling you, my Yelpers never let me down! We were greeted immediately and welcomed into the establishment. Atmosphere was steak house like. With a beautiful wine cellar in the room we sat it. Amazing cartoon drawings of famous baseball players. (See video). We ordered two great wines that were suggested by our fabulous waiter. We started with the rib end appetizer that were a lot better than they sound. Ordered the Fried Calamari and toasted raviolis. All delicious. For our dinners, we ordered filet mignon, rib eyed steaks with bone in and boneless steaks. My other nephew ordered the pork chop and we had the crab legs. All were fabulous. The crab legs were so good they melted in your mouth. Seasoning all perfect with our choice of meats. Heavenly mash potatoes and potatoes au gratin that were delicious. Our table service was the utmost best. I loved our time here and our food was memorable. Plenty of parking out front. Easy to find location. My family and I Loved it! We sat in the bar and the bartender was our server. She was great! Very personable and knowledgeable. The bar has a very old school vibe. Interesting and comfortable. They had options of wines by the glass and bottle. We opted to dine off the happy hour menu. Very good prices. We had the fried ravioli (mix of beef and cheese and jalapeños), the short ribs (someone else might have really loved them- but they were too smokey for me) and the steak tacos. We reserved a table at Frashers Tavern a couple of weeks beforehand to celebrate my birthday, wanting to have something very special this evening. The web pages informed about the dress code being business casual, so we dressed adequately. The reviews indicated superior quality, so our expectations were pretty high as we entered the restaurant timely, and waited at the front desk for some time. A person appeared after a while, and after having prioritized someone calling to reserve their table, we were finally seated with a happy birthday note. The room has nice, classic decor and wood walls, although the place sounded rather loud. That was ok, but it was somewhat awkward to note that we were basically the only ones having business casual outfit. Then, we ordered the appetizer and drinks. It was again a bit strange to realize my wine took such a long time to be served, although our server informed even couple of times it is on its way. Again, not any big deal as we were not in hurry at all, it was just that we needed to wait paciently that birthday brindis to materialize. Perhaps there were some more important customers, we thought. That all were of course just minor details, the steaks being of the main importance. After very tasty crab cakes, we ordered a petit tenderloin and ribeye, ready to enjoy the treat. The tenderloin turned out to be fantastic although it was slightly undercooked compared to the ask. Excellent it was regardless, so 5 of 5 for the quality. Nevertheless, the ribeye was slightly disappointing. Delicious it was, and prepared to a perfect medium, but for 61 dollars, it was kind of tough - texture-wise it actually reminded more like choise-grade New York strip than prime ribeye. Sufficiently juicy it was, and pretty tasty, but for the price, I had somewhat higher expectations so I would give 3 of 5 to this one. The recommended house dessert, butter cake with icecream, was fantastic. The bill was around 200 dollars plus tip, no bread served, and regardless of some other evaluations indicating a nice surprise of their dessert being given as a birthday present, I was simply charged for that one. All in all, we enjoyed very much the evening, regardless of the rather high price compared to the overall experience. read more

One of the best steakhouses I have ever been to. I ordered ribeye with a side of king crab. The steak was cooked perfectly to order without any waste or gristle, something I haven't encountered anywhere else in the Phoenix area. The crab legs were sweet and delectable, not over or undercooked. The owner (George) came out to greet us and was very pleasant and personable. Our waitress (Sydney) was friendly and attentive, got the entire order correct (!) and made some excellent recommendations. We (party of three) arrived prior to opening (4:00 pm), and they let us in anyway because it was extremely hot outside. The waitress let us sit wherever we wanted. The decor was typical steakhouse - small but roomy linen covered tables, semi-dark, comfortable temperature, clean, with music from the 60s and 70s coming from the bar - not too loud but recognizable. And the chairs were so comfortable that they did not hurt my butt even though we were sitting there for hours! That has to be a first. The desert menu was amazing, even though I don't eat deserts. Homemade butter cream cake, tiramisu and black chocolate bourbon pecan pie for a few. Even though I didn't eat any, I could smell how delicious they were across the table. After eating two, we ordered several to take home. Some very minor cons, none of which affect my rating: There seems to be limited parking around the restaurant, although we arrived early and found a spot immediately. If you are into wine with your dinner (I am not), they have a rather limited wine menu. And there is a 4$ up charge for substituting a side order on your meal (considering the cost of a dinner, this seems kind of petty). But alll in all, the food was spectacular. the service and ambiance impeccable and the overall experience very enjoyable. We came with another couple and we ordered to ravioli, bacon wrapped scallops, Caesar's salad, ribeye, filet mignon, prime rib dinner, and a steak sandwich ... you name it, we ordered it! Every one of these meals was fantastic and you can't go wrong with the menu here. Been in Old Town a long time and never patronized Frasher's Tavern. Went on a Sunday night in Dec. For awhile at 7:00 PM we were the only ones in the dining room with a few people in their very nice looking bar area. I'm not sure why it was that slow because the food and service were exceptional. First of all out server Hannah had a delightful personality and very detailed and professional. The food also was very well done. We shared one of their salads, very nice. The entree's were a petite filet and prime rib - both really good. The smoked kernel corn was delicious the au gratin potato's initially didn't blow me away but was better and better after every bite. The richness of the cheese was decadent. Their version of butter cake - Gooey Cake - was great - a perfect end to the meal. Kudos to Hannah and the culinary team there. You gained a fan for sure! read more

You're driving down Indian School Road on a Saturday night and turn into the parking lot and wow, what a surprise. A quiet corner with plenty of parking. A law office that's closed for the night. The staff was so friendly, the owner came over a couple of times to check on us since we were first timers. There was a big birthday party that had an adjacent room to themselves, it was beautifully decorated and private. They're known for their steaks and prime rib, my dining partners said it was perfection! The rolls were fresh out of the oven and served with a tasty herb butter. The garlic mashed potatoes were pretty simple, I think they could kick that up a notch. For the vegetarian (me) they recommend the Scottsdale salad (loaded with cranberries, avocado, corn - very satisfying) and toasted ravioli. It was probably the best I've ever had-which made me wish they would put a pasta dish on their menu, they really know how to do it right. I so wanted to enjoy this restaurant and bar. I love the old Timey atmosphere with baseball players on the walls. It looks like something straight out of the 60s which I love. However, there are some things that are missing and I get it. It was a Sunday night the Sunday before Labor Day. We were there to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. We had reserved a table for nine but only had eight seats when we arrived and 8 table settings. Not a big deal that was easily settled, but it's the small things like this when you are fine dining that make things special. The server was nice enough, but we could tell he was unexperienced. Which is totally fine. Everybody has to start somewhere. We were patient with getting our drinks and getting our bread. The bread was old! It was NOT good. Everyone at the table really wanted the toasted ravioli ... that was out of the question because they did not have it! Our meals arrived and let me just tell you I had the filet mignon. It came out lukewarm not even hot not even sizzling. I didn't want the mashed potatoes. So I ordered asparagus as my side. It was burned. It was limp. It was overcooked and it was so salty. I sent it back. The chef or the manager came out at one point, to check on the patrons... but didn't dare ask us how everything was. I could tell. He just said this table needs water. It's disappointing. This is a special occasion for my sister-in-law's birthday!!!! My mother-in-law spent a fortune on a mediocre dinner for nine of us! They finally brought out a dessert after we asked three times. It was a skillet butter cake. Poorly presented . It looked old and put together sloppily. I really wanted to love this place. I chose the pork chop with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Everything was delicious. Pork chop was cooked perfectly. Broccoli was crisp, not soggy. Potatoes were creamy and flavorful. Service was excellent. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The manager went around to all the tables and asked how things were going. We got to ask him about all the baseball caricatures around the dining room. Parking is in a paid lot across the street but you can get your ticket validated at the hostess desk. I have eaten at Frashers many times and it continues to be awesome... I have pretty had close to everything on the menu and have never been disappointed By any of my choices.
