Our usual local ramen spot. We love the spicy tonkatsu and I especially like the yuzu shio delight. This is one of those places that is consistently delicious all the time. The flavors are on point and the spice levels are no joke. This is one of our top places to go for quality ramen. I have been going to Jinya since they opened. This was my favorite place for Ramen!!! Unfortunately through the years the service has become poor, I can see past this. The real problem is that the portions Have become smaller and smaller. First the actual quantity then they shrunk the size of the bowls that they're serving their Ramen in. The final straw for me was on my last trip there. I ordered my usual Ramen dish that I always get. When the server brought it out to the table, I immediately noticed that there was almost no broth in the bowl. I asked the server where is the brought? He said let me get the manager for you. Once the manager came out, I simply asked him. Why is there no broth in my Ramen. He explained to me that this is the new serving portion. I asked if I could get a little bit more more more bro so I can actually enjoy my Ramen, and he said sorry I can either change it or cancel it for you. So I sent it back. First time at this location and it's probably one of my favorites. What sets this location apart from the others is the large outdoor setting area. I personally really like Jinya because you can customize everything with your ramen. I ordered the chicken ramen although switched out the chicken chashu for pork chashu and added a seasoned egg and Kikurage mushrooms. The chicken broth was creamy although not as heavy compared to pork broth. The pork chashu was perfectly cooked and still very juicy. The seasoned egg is probably my favorite part - highly recommend everyone to add this to their ramen. I also suggest switching out the thin noodles for the thick noodles. The only constructive feedback would be related to customer service. The host was very friendly and would make jokes with guests. As for the waiter, he seemed to be in a bad mood and annoyed. We had wanted to order the spicy tuna tacos and he told us they were sold out. We had asked him what was available and any recommendations and he simply disregarded and told us again the spicy tuna tacos were sold out as well as a few other items. In addition, whenever I asked for anything such as a straw for water and hot sauce, he would get irritated. Overall, great vibes at this location and the food is great! We've been coming here for years and we wonder if they've changed owners? Smaller portions, service wasn't as friendly, slightly more attitude. Do they also decorate pastries? Waitress apologized and took the bowl and perhaps it was the manager just came with another bowl of ramen. Nothing was really said to us. Went at night and this place was packed. Took about ten mins to be seated and the outdoor patio area is very beautiful at night. There's a huge fire pit un the center and tables with heaters all around. It was a cold night so much appreciated. The server(Kristopher) was very friendly and brought out our drinks and appetizer very quickly. I forgot what the appetizer was called But it was shrimp with a chipotle mayo sauce and it was very delicious. I got the chicken Ramen to share with my daughter and I'm not sure what Ramen my husband got but he loved it. Ramen is always good on a cold day. The only reason why I declined to give it five stars was because of the amount of time that it took for the Ramen to come out. We got our drinks and appetizer within five minutes of ordering but our plates took longer than 30 minutes to come out and we basically got them five minutes before closing. Our server was very friendly but also had a group of what seem to be his friends in the table right behind us and was talking to the most of the time without checking up on us or why our food had not come in. The food was bland and the noodles were on the VERY chewy side - the noodles needed to be cooked in a little longer. The broth was almost cold. They had us waiting for our food for some time as well. There wasn't that many people eating. The service was not too great either. We don't know who our main waiter was either. One of the best things about Southern California is being able to enjoy outdoor dining in a T-shirt a week before Thanksgiving. Jinya has a gorgeous outdoor patio with fire pit. Beautiful environment. Best things about tonight's dinner: Hot sake was served hot, not just warm. Fantastic seafood all around. Spicy tuna wonton tacos, the shrimp tempura, the California poke bowl. All perfecto. Lots of good greens in the bowls. My poke bowl had seaweed, cucumber, spinach, and leafy greens. Generous portions. The bowls are plentiful, and Jinya doesn't skimp on the protein. Prices are a real deal. $12 for a loaded pork chashu bowl. The host, Cameron, is ADORABLE!!! Super sweet and efficient. Desserts are also a major nummy -- try the panna cotta. My only frustration with the Burbank Jinya is that it's really hard to reach them by phone. I can't remember my server's name, and I would've shouted him out too, but I couldn't get anyone on the line to remind me. So to the nice server with thick dark hair and glasses with black frames -- you're really cool. :) read more

We live within walking distance and I always want to like this place more than I do. The space is mostly outdoors, with a huge fire pit surrounded by counter seating as a centerpiece, and romantic string lights. The ramen is almost entirely customizable and there are a lot of unique and/or vegan options, so they accommodate mostly any diet. This location is popular and almost always has a wait. Their website states that they take reservations, but they don't have an online reservation system and no one answers the phone. The last time we brought friends here, I drove by, hopped out of my car, and made a reservation with the host earlier in the day. Service has never been attentive any time I've visited. Although the hosts are friendly, the servers always seem rushed, stressed, and are forgetful. We were seated in the corner and didn't get everything we ordered, having to ask for some items more than once or wave someone down after a long wait for more drinks or the check. This isn't the restaurant's fault, but on our last visit, a large family with small children was seated directly behind us. The kids screamed, ran around and bumped our chairs, jumped between chairs, and grabbed handfuls of noodles from their bowls to throw or drop on the ground. Neither the parents nor the servers said anything, and the happiest part of our night was seeing them leave. Other than the disappointing service, the ramen is delicious. I wish it was served hotter, but I always enjoy it. I've really liked the tempura brussels sprouts (they'd be better with a dipping sauce!) the spicy creamy shrimp tempura, and the salmon and tuna mini tacos. read more

Came here on a Saturday around 6pm, still lots of seating no wait time which was great. It was kind of cold outside but they had their fire pit on and the heaters so it was nice and cozy. It's a really beautiful spot with all the lights, ambiance is just lovely. The service was actually amazing from the person who took our order, brought out our food, and cleaned up our area all nice and respectful. I enjoyed my ramen we got the Spicy Vegan Ramen and subbed it with Chicken because we were more interested in the flavor in the vegan choice rather than the Spicy Chicken Ramen and it was delicious! The Brussels Sprouts Tempura are waaaaay too sweet I don't know if it's the white truffle oil but they taste like a dessert definitely not what I was expecting or wanted, the Pork Gyoza on the other hand was by far my favorite it was very tasty.
