I could not say enough good things about this very affordable restaurant! I would come back here just for the high-quality fish meals. I was brought to a California Fish Grill in Rosemead two years ago and I thought it was delicious; a coworker brought me to Burbank last month. I work at the iHeartRadio Theater and we don't work every day but my coworker says it's when he does work at the theater, this is the only place he'll eat. After their two times I brought my wife. She loves it also. The manager, Emily, was so warm and friendly as was everybody else who works there. Every time I've returned, she greets me by my name with a smile. I have no problem eating lunch there two days in a row. I'm kind of addicted to the salmon salad and the lime dressing. I've been burned out on zucchini throughout my life But I liked theirs so much that I recreated the dish at home and it'll probably be the only way I want to eat zucchini at home from now on! The location is very easy to get to from the theater and my home. I look forward to trying other dishes ! Sustainably caught fish that's fresh & affordable. You can be as healthy as you here with ample protein & veggies and even cauliflower "rice". You can also be as wicked as you like with their fried fish items. I've been here a bunch of times, but most recently on a Friday night at 7pm and it was PACKED! Which meant the wait was 20 minutes for my two grilled fish plates. The staff was hustling! I saw more than six cooks in the kitchen and four staff at the counter. I do think their touchscreen self checkout slows things down a lot. It would be faster if someone else input the order. The fish (salmon & Branzino) is done American-style, which means a bit crisp on the edges and overdone by this Asian person's standards. All in all though, a good, healthy fast food option that's well-priced. read more

We stopped here before hitting the 4DX theatre to see GOAT. The boys chose this place out of all the options and for the most part, it was pretty good but I did have a few issues. Parking wasn't one of them because it's surrounded by several restaurants and shops which all share the same parking. It probably gets busy on a nice sunny day but it was pretty empty during the rain. However, the 1st issue was, with it being my first time here and not being aware that you can only order at the kiosks, I was standing there for a few mins looking at the worker behind the counter waiting for him to call us up as he was looking at me. The manager finally told his employee to help me order on the kiosk and then that's when I realized you can only order through the kiosk and I told him I got it. Secondly, most of the tables were clean but the one booth we wanted in the corner so I cleaned it and we got our seat. Lastly, the fries were over cooked and a little too crispy/hard. They were seasoned good but just way too crispy and hard. Now for the good! The Lobster Rolls were really good! I ordered the two lobster roll combo with fries and a drink and the boys ordered fish & chips kids meals. It seemed like they had no issues and liked their meals. Overall, I would 100% be back for the lobster rolls but they need to clean up the area a little better. They also need to take the fries out sooner than they did. The food was delicious. I had the poke nachos, clam chowder, and the Brussel sprouts. I also liked that we are able to order alcoholic drinks. I do want to come back for the lobster rolls. The service was amazing the people were all attentive of the customer and helpful when they did not know how to order. Ya girl has been obsessed with California Fish Grill lately and when in Burbank to see Halloween lights, I hit the Burbank CFG up! I'm happy to report this location upholds all the same standards as the others, with a big ol' parking lot to boot! I love parking lots in LA! lol I love their new wild rockfish! I got that on this visit with some delish but not overpowering teriyaki sauce. Then a plump shrimp skewer with their garlic butter sauce mixed with cajun sauce on top. Deliciously divine, y'all! I swear that garlic butter sauce is the bomb. I dream about it. It's like dessert in sauce form. Everything at CFG is always so fresh, great portion sizes and truly delicious flavors. We had low expectations for this restaurant. But we were pleasantly surprised. All of the food was fresh and delicious. Portion sizes were generous. The fish and chips were a really good deal. We got the one with three pieces of fish and they were very large. We really liked the grilled flavor on the shrimp trio. And the garlic butter sauce is absolutely amazing, as everybody says. The coconut shrimp was crunchy and flavorful. It came with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce. Staff were friendly and helpful. Even when I asked if the asparagus was decent, haha! I don't think it's quite worth the extra charge for asparagus, since they only give you three spears. But it was nice asparagus! Fries were really good. They had old Bay seasoning and rich potato flavor. Sweet potato fries were also really good. They seem to be thicker cut and the ones at other restaurants. they come packaged in a cleverly designed container with ventilation to keep it from getting soggy and a spot on the lid for the sauce. DH got the Branzino with brown rice and plain zucchini. All of the items were fresh and tasty. The rice and the fish and chips were a bit saltier than expected, but the grilled zucchini helped to offset this. The restaurant itself is clean and there is plenty of seating inside. It was very busy on a Saturday night for dinner. Which is always a good sign! It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out and everything was hot. The employee packaging the food checked over the order very carefully to make sure it was perfect. If you're looking for tasty seafood at a reasonable price, give this place a try. read more

I hadn't been to this location in a while, but I'd been seriously craving California Fish Grill, so I decided to swing by on my way home from work. I went with the Miso Salmon Bowl, which was packed with flavor. It was Grilled Salmon, Miso Slaw, spicy Quinoa-Edamame Rice, Red & Green Onion, Tomato, Black Sesame Seeds, and their Citrus Miso Sauce. I love when they have the Miso sauce available as it ties everything together so well. I also got to try a couple of new components that I hadn't seen before. The Kale Miso Slaw was a standout: a modern twist with chopped kale and cabbage tossed in a super flavorful dressing that gave a nice fresh crunch. The Quinoa-Edamame Rice was another great surprise. It was white rice mixed with quinoa and edamame, seasoned with poke sauce. It had a great texture and added a bit more substance to the bowl. For a Saturday evening around 5pm, it was fairly busy, but I had no trouble finding a seat and my food came out pretty quickly. The staff was friendly and efficient, and everything tasted fresh. I would really say it's more of 3.5 mostly for friendly service, price point, and wait time for the food. My boyfriend loves his sandwich and fries but my food was ok. The shrimp could've been cooked longer and I feel like the garlic sauce was slapped on. The rice and zucchini were pretty good but I would not order it again. The waiters were really nice and checked on us after we got our food. The strawberry mint drink they have is good but k wish it had a bit more mint taste. The restaurant itself is cute and clean, decent amount of seating inside but there's also outdoor season. Overall a good place and I would definitely go back and try something else. read more

I ordered the sea bass with a side of coconut shrimp. The sea bass was awful. The skin was burned and it was difficult if not impossible to separate the fish from the burnt skin . It was pretty much inedible. It even looked sloppy and unappetizing on the plate. And the price 27 ! Unbelievable. To pay that much for an inedible piece of fish is inexcusable. read more

The only thing I think is really weird is that they don't have regular lemonade, only lite, What??? Lite should always be an extra for people who want extra chemicals in their soft drinks. I love this place. The only beef I have with them is the fact that I think they should allow customers to mix and match fish. For example, get 1 salmon and 1 sea bass, or 1 shrimp and 1 tuna. I have been to other locations but today was my first time at this one and I was just as pleased with everything as I have been before - great consistency across locations in terms of the food quality and service. I also noticed how incredibly clean this location was and how the employees were all cleaning as they worked and really prioritizing it. The wild sockeye was so good and loved trying the new "Mediterranean" sauce with it - it is basically tahini. The rosemary diced zucchini and sweet potato fries were excellent as always. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised with the meal. I had the catfish grilled with rice and the diced zucchini - the fish was good, but I was most impressed with the zucchini: it was well seasoned and a healthy yet very tasty side dish option. M'lady had the fish and chips and while this was battered, it wasn't overly so - no big chunks of just fried stuff. It was almost too much - you might even be able to split it as a meal for 2. I also got a side order of fried shrimp just to check it out and they were good, not greasy. When I got the order, one of the employees said (not to me, but to another employee next to them) "wow, that looks good." I guess I made the right choice! To that point, a negative: for what this food is and how it's made, having us pick it up at the counter on a metal tray is very low grade, and I don't think it has to be that way. I'm not expecting tablecloths and a waiter, but it all seemed very cheap. It's not a big restaurant; would it be a stretch for it to be brought to your table? Or maybe a nicer presentation? If we could get fish options blackened (instead of just grilled or fried) that would be awesome. This place is pretty good. It's hit or miss with their fountain drinks, though. The black cherry sofa tasted like carbonated water tonight so we had to dump it out and get a rootbeer instead. It was good last time, though. They were also out of Atlantic salmon tonight so I ordered chicken instead. I had really been looking forward to the salmon and it's why we picked this restaurant tonight, oh well. The people here are always nice and the place is always clean. Great spot for a quick, delicious and moderately healthy meal. Obviously, it is primarily seafood, but the have a couple chicken options, and some great veg-friendly sides. Beer and Wine are available, as well as some delicious non-alcoholic fountain and bottled options. Also, their Taco Tuesday deal is a real budget-saver with single tacos for $3.50-$3.75 each, and a combo plate that has 2 tacos plus rice and beans for only $10.75. (Their tacos are excellent, btw) Staff is always attentive, checking if you need help or extra napkins, sauces, etc. They are also very thorough with checking to-go orders, which is nice. If you choose to dine-in, they also come by to bus the tables. Dining room is casual and clean. As seems to be the trend, there are lots of hard surfaces, so it can get a little loud when it gets busy, but it's usually fine. read more
