By the time everything was done our waiter asked us if we wanted anything else. Yes my meal :) and the broccolini. He brought something else which I had to point out wasn't even close. But I had a delivery order through DoorDash and when I received the order there was no "seal stickers" on the containers or not even a staple on the delivery bag for the order but there was for the receipt. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. Yesterday I was craving ramen and finally stopped by. It was busy as expected for a Friday night but we sat at the bar to avoid what we were told would be a 20 min wait time. There's also outdoor sitting which isn't used right now because of the weather. Service was good. I got the Tonkotsu spicy. The broth was tasty and I added more hot sauce to my liking. I added an egg because seriously who gets ramen without eggs?? The egg is the best part and they do them well here. Not too happy that it was extra but anyways. My internal needle was slowly lowering when my group wanted dine at Jinya. I knew Jinya is franchised. I assumed it would be like the Olive Garden of ramen. Do not eat here. To start, the food was not good. I got ramen and it was just angel hair spaghetti in chicken broth with some unseasoned chicken and spinach on top. What ramen has spinach in it anyway? My friend got the pork gyoza and she said it tasted like the frozen bags from the store and they were too small. The server didn't check on us once so we couldn't tell her the food was bad. I've been a long time fan of Jinya. I used to live in Austin Texas, and that location was the first ramen I had ever tried and I was instantly in love. I've been coming to this location for about 2 years now, and I can't say I've ever had an experience like this one. It just makes me sad honestly with how I was treated. I solo dine often, but this experience I walked away never wanting to come back. The amount of attitude I got from the hostess and servers was not like any form of hospitality I've seen. Btw I've been in the service industry for almost 7 years. I'm a server and bartender at a local shop. I actually had just gotten off a really busy shift and wanted some comfort food. I wasn't even greeted and immediately asked if I'm picking up an order. There was a lot of coldness immediately. My actual server was nice. Not very attentive. Forgot to bring utensils and napkins. Forgot to bring the garlic they usually provide if asked and never checked on me while I was dining. Never asked if I needed a refill. When the check finally came around, I waited for 20 minutes to get closed out. If they can't even serve me correctly, one individual. Don't bother bringing a group if people. Truly disappointing. Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon. Place was pretty busy. We had driven by and never stopped. A neat space with outside dinning. We looked and decided on two different types of ramen, spicy chicken ramen medium heat, plain. The other was the Orginal Tonkotsu . Included thin pork slices very tasty, a egg, spinach, a few other condiments. Broth of both were excellent. Noodles were ramen not Imation. My grandson and I couldn't finish the bowls and took leftovers with us. Staff was great, knowledgeable. The delicious egg in my bowl sent me over the edge of fullness. I mean come in!! Major Drool I ordered one with mushrooms, which I prefer or recommend. This is a must order for me, especially if you add their Seasoned Sauce Chefs Kiss Takoyaki - Always a must for me, I love Octupus. What is the big deal about ramen bars? Well I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Ramen inexpensive meal at home, so why pay close to $20 for it. You can get it for change at the store. Well today I found out. The broth was crazy good and the presentation did not disappoint. I was having a pho moment it was wonderful and warming. Ok I now see the big deal. For an appetizer I did the bao bun & yea I got my life in each bite. Ok don't judge I licked my fingers after eating the bun. This new spot is perfect for a date night with its small and modern vibes. I came to celebrate my birthday with my husband on a Monday night and our server was great. He even made sure to bring me a birthday treat which was delicious! The ramen itself is yummy just a bit pricy. Any topping you add to your ramen is of course extra but the amount you get for what you pay for is extremely tiny. My husband liked it though, I'm just not used to salty food. I wanted to try the ramen here but I've had better. Nikuman (steamed pork buns) was offered! Although the location is located in Uptown, it should actually be located in Mid-town, because that's what it is; MID AF. The one thing that stood out the most was the extremely slow service! When waiting for our check, the server was nowhere to be found and we were stuck waiting roughly 20+ minutes for the bill. The food came out in good intervals, however the waitress was unfortunately laggy. Maybe it was the opening day jitters. The ramen here is simply mid. We tried the JINYA Tonkotsu Black and Tonkotsu spicy, but there really was no depth of flavor within the broth and the chashu tasted like it had been boiled in water. They claim their broth takes 20 hours to make, but honestly it tasted like it was done in 20 minutes (the same amount of time it took for my bill to come). One of the things we did enjoy were the appetizers. The Takoyaki and fried chicken were actually done well and enjoyable. Bummer the rest of the meal couldn't be as good. read more

Okay I am from the Bay, had numerous ramen places, ippudo, Hironori, etc good ones. Like "Decent" ones. My expectations are fairly high for the bowl of the Ramen. Flavor: two star Decent Tonkoshu broth, but way too much fat, salty, luke warm, soggy noodle, Ramen recipe probably correct, but their Spicy Sauce don't even make the Ramen spicy.. tasted like Sriracha.. 1.9$ for that???? At least add some spices. Vibe: one stars I saw them struggle really bad from sitting at the bar.. they need some better system. It stressed me out watching them. HOWEVER, I would like to focus on one individual (the reason for this review). DEREK. Derek is definitely one of a kind and I personally believe this guy deserves 10 stars. When I go into Jinya to eat, I cross my fingers in hopes that Derek is my server. Derek is undoubtedly a great server with a funny and professional personality. The staff were all great! So friendly and welcoming. The food was good too! The broth in the black tonkotsu was delicious. My only complaint would be that the egg wasn't as flavorful as I've had other places and the noodles texture was just ok. Overall it was a great bowl of ramen! The takkoyaki was great. This place has really changed since last I was here for the better. The chasu pork actually had a huge burst of flavor unlike the last time I was in. Now me and my boyfriend are somewhat regulars and come here whenever we can splurge on a meal. Their appetizers are ok and definitely could use a revamping. She never came to us while we had our meal to ask if it came out okay. I had to call her and interrupt her chitchat with other employees. I had no drink for the longest time trying to get her attention. Then when we finished our meal it took her forever to notice us and bring the check. The in-house tonkotsu broth is nicely kotteri, and the in-house thick-cut noodles are choice! The taste is authentic and the presentation traditional. As a plus the service is friendly! The ramen bar is a callback to classic ramen yatai, which appeals to the authentic atmosphere of a traditional ramen stop.
