I finally gave in to both a ramen craving and a birria craving, so the birria ramen was an easy choice; and it definitely didn't disappoint! Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated inside without much of a wait. We started with the edamame and a couple of drinks before our entrées arrived. I ordered the birria ramen, and my husband ordered what he believed was the chicken rice bowl. Before ordering, he specifically asked to confirm it wasn't pork and was assured it wasn't. The food itself was excellent. My birria ramen was flavorful and hearty, and my husband enjoyed his bowl so much that he cleaned his plate. When he complimented the chicken to our server, we were surprised to learn it had actually been pork the entire time. Since we don't eat pork, that was a pretty upsetting mistake, especially after asking about it beforehand. To the server's credit, he immediately realized the error, apologized sincerely, and removed the bowl from our bill without hesitation. We appreciated how he handled the situation, even though the mistake couldn't be undone. Despite the hiccup, the food was genuinely delicious, and I would absolutely order the birria ramen again. I hope a little more care is taken with dietary questions in the future. read more

Okay, I really tried this time to get a better experience. My daughter loves having ramen when she doesn't feel like sushi. This place is just a disappointment. If you like this place you probably never been a food enthusiast. I care about quality, appropriate packaging and my food never being ice cold, especially following directions. Either hire new people who know how to be very good at what they do or don't have a business, also change the containers for broth. I added a picture too, I just wanted to let you know you get half of what you paid for. Price to include for three people. If my favorite Denver ramen place was still open, I'd do the drive just for their food and pay way less to include the gas price. I will add... This ramen bar in downtown Colorado Springs is located a little bit off the main downtown strip, but honestly that's not a bad thing because it makes parking a lot easier compared to some of the busier areas downtown. The building itself has actually changed over restaurants a few times over the last several years, so hopefully this ramen bar sticks around because it's definitely worth it. The seating area is great, and they have these collapsible windows that open up during the summertime, giving the place a really cool indoor/outdoor atmosphere and vibe. The staff was very welcoming as soon as we walked in, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered a birria bowl and everything about it was perfect -- the broth, the toppings, the noodles, all of it. I went on a cold snowy day, and the warm soup seriously hit the spot. The ramen was very good but the appetizers and service was a bit disappointing. We ordered our drinks which included a sake flight first thing along with some appetizers and the drinks came out after we had finished both appetizers ordered and right before the ramen showed up. The pork gyoza was fine but very standard gyoza that you get frozen. The salmon poke taco was alright and the spicy tuna taco was much better, having some nice spice to it. They are a bit pricey at $7.50 for two so I wouldn't recommend them. The ramen was very good. I had the Tan Tan Men which had some of the most delicious broth. The thick noodles were great and the ground pork is so nice to get some with every bite. I don't often drink all the ramen broth but I did for this order. Came here with friends on a Friday night we highly recommend getting on the waitlist before coming! Our friends joined before arriving and we had no wait for our table and it was busy! However, when we asked about the lunch special our server said they were no longer running it and it was not available. Update to my original review but I can't seem to change the original itself. Food? 4/5. Came out hot, tasty, great textures and flavors. Price point was fine for what we got. Decent portions. Just as advertised. Not the best I've ever had, certainly not the worst. Service? 5/5. Great! After an originally quite negative review, we were emailed by Dino, the district manager, to be invited back and to make up for the first time around. Dino personally attended to my large group of 7 and made sure we were taken care of. Ambiance? 3/5. It's still a cute little place, the outdoor seating looked amazing but we didn't sit outside cuz of the rain. It smelled really weird/bad the second time I went...idk what it was, but it wasn't there the first time I went. It just smelled like plumbing...and someone tried to use cleaning products on it. Unpleasant. It didn't make me very hungry. Another table nearby complained about a leak in the roof like I had the first time I went. Overall, things went way better than the first time around. I didn't see the same waitress who messed up attending to any tables. Our waitress was kind, asked if we had allergies, attentive, and made recommendations off the menu. She clearly had the knowledge of price points off the top of her head and knew how to pick something off the menu based on someone's preferences (like for drinks)! She was great and please keep her or give her a raise. I've had the young lady with glasses and short curly hair twice now. She's been divine! Dino was kind even though he was swamped and did his best to attend to every single table. He ensured he said hello and goodbye to literally every table while I was there that evening. He explained that while I was there, the restaurant had to deal with construction and lack of resources but they remained open. It certainly explained the obstacles he's had to deal with but he remained kind and resilient. He also advised he was working pretty much every station and it certainly appeared true! He was clearly working in the kitchen, front of house, and managing the business. Honestly the work of these two employees alone is what will keep me coming back. The manager of the restaurant reached out to us and offered his sincerest apologies for the service that we experienced on our first visit to Jinya. So, we went back yesterday afternoon and sat outside on the patio. Ashley was our server, the young gal was super friendly and took our order swiftly and smoothly. She recommended the sake flight which consisted of 3 different types of sakes, all of them were tasty and delicious! We both decided to order the Jinya tonkotsu black Ramen and to our satisfaction this soup had big bold flavors. Within its deep broth it was full of earthy mushrooms, sprouts, pork, a full egg cooked to perfection (I might add) green onions, nori and noodles that were light, airy. 10 out of 10. The appetizers we ordered were, the shrimp tempura the crispy rice spicy tuna, the salmon tacos, all which were a 10 out of 10. We enjoyed all of the appetizers as well as the crispy chicken we ordered towards the end of our meal. The favorite was the shrimp tempura though!! At arrival we were nicely greeted and had a 25 minute wait on a Friday night which really wasn't bad. We were able to ve seated by ourselves at our own table which was great. There is some communal tables as well as standard rable seating. Once we were seated we were quickly waited on by our wonderful server Justyce. He gave us a good walk through of their whole menu. We ordered and within a couple minutes were given our food. Amazingly it looked exactly like their menu photos. The soups were amazing and beautifully presented. Colorado Springs does not have any good ramen places.... Till now! I'm giving it 4 stars as it's not the best ramen I've had though if we are comparing it to other ramen spots in town hands down that's a 5. I got it delivered as well so I know it's not as good as eating it in store but still I feel like I got a good taste of it. The crispy chicken appetizer was good and cooked well. I like the dipping sauce that comes with it, tastes like soy sauce with yuzu maybe? I also got the pork tonkotsu black ramen which was really good. Ramen is all about the broth and you can definitely tell it's been cooked long enough to develop a depth of flavor. The noodles have a great chewiness to them too. I went last week and we sat there for about 20 minutes before someone came to our table. Our server did not bring us food or check in on us. In fact I had to ask the host for water because he was nowhere to be seen. We just felt like an inconvenience And I normally come here twice a month. This overall experience made me not want to come back for a while. We then had to hunt him down for the check. We were there for a quick 45 minutes and he had only taken our order and given us the check after asking for it. The service has gone downhill since it's opened and I continually ask myself why we spend the money here for bad service. Pretty disappointing especially eating here 2-3 times a month and being a rewards member. read more

I guess I'm just not sold on this restaurant. I've tried three locations and this one is similar and on par with the others. I called for a reservation and was told that they don't take them, but could put me on a waitlist if I called 15 minutes a head of time. We were able to walk right in without a call on a Tuesday evening. The ambiance is similar to other locations, which was modern, a bit dark, and asian themed. What stood out at the CoSprings location was the service. The server was great, very attentive, and had a good sense of humor. I've never been excited about the broth at Jinya, which is the most important part of the Ramen. I understand that restaurants can run out but how about refusing the customer or calling them to ask? I did not like the swiped item. Order accuracy was lacking -- boyfriend ordered tonkatsu red, spice level 3, no bean sprouts in it but bean sprouts on the side. It came out with bean sprouts in it, no bean sprouts on the side, and no meat, either. Spice level 3 (out of 10) was crazy spicy!! Which says something coming from me, since I live in the Bay area and will order things spicy at authentic Korean restaurants where spicy is on a whole nother scale. Both the black and the red, the broth was mediocre, almost bland (cept for the red being too spicy), not enough flavor, no depth. I suppose I'm spoiled by the endless and stellar west coast ramen options. I even left broth behind, and I never do that with tonkatsu. I appreciated the sauces provided on the side, but even that could not remedy the broth's shortcomings. The happy hour salmon poke tacos were delish, def recommend those. I was quickly sat at the bar for lunch around 12:30. There appeared to be plenty of seats for bigger parties as well. The menu design plays off of the recent popularity of anime and advertises a reward program on the first page. The bar tender was quick to get me water and provided insightful answers when I asked which ramen she recommended. The Tonkotsu red comes in 10 different spice levels. I chose the 3rd spice level as recommended to me by the bar tender. I cannot handle too much spice, so I felt that this level allowed me to enjoy spicy while also still being able to taste the different flavors in the ramen. I also got the hot green tea. My friend and I went to Jinya during the opening week. First mistake was not having a reservation, but that was our fault. We waited about 40-50 minutes to be seated inside. At that time, the outdoor patio was not open. However, they did allow people to order drinks at the bar and bring them outside while you wait. The line at the bar for drinks was also very congested though and we were not able to order. We were seated by a friendly waiter and it didn't take long for them to ask for our order. We ordered two drinks and they were out of ingredients for both of them, but we pivoted. I ordered one of the sake flights but was unfortunately brought the wrong one. I still drank it but I think I would have enjoyed the other flavors more. The ramen took a bit but was served hot and decorated appetizingly. The decor is pretty and there is quite a bit of seating.
