Service is good. Menu, restaurant tried too hard I suppose to be fusion? I've been to many, many ramen bars across the nation and stopped short from visiting this chain but because it was the only one nearby at this traveling moment I gave it a shot. Disappointed as expected. You can taste the MSG and that did it for me. Broth is lukewarm, I like all my noodle soups hot as it's supposed to be. Everyone that knows me that if I mention Ramen this is the only place that I want it from. I originally started going to the Jinya location in Katy off of Mason. It quickly became my very favorite ramen spot. When I heard about the location being built in Cypress I couldn't be happier. Although, it looks different I hoped the food would still be the same. The food at this location is ok, but it is definitely not the same. My last visit is probably my last visit. I started with ordering water with lemons, and a Jinya bun. The meat in the jinya bun tasted like it was probably cooked a while ago. The waitress eventually brought out our drinks after our food was there, but no lemons. She finally brought them the 3rd time I asked her about them. I ordered brussels sprouts with my ramen and they were so over cooked I had to send them back. Thats such a bummer because they do not even still sell some of my favorite add ons like the beef sukiyaki anymore, so I needed those to actually be right. My overall experience at this location is enough to not return. Its the first time the service was bad, but not the first time the food didn't turn out to be as good as the other locations. read more

This place was a godsend so where do I start? As I came in I was welcomed by the alluring smell of Ramen. The rich broth entered my sinuses as it felt as if I was visiting japan for vacation all over again. I got the Tonkotsu Black which was recommended by my server Alex. He said this was a favorite and I do not regret getting it at all. I also got the takoyaki and the fried chicken pieces. The takoyaki was really good and tastes really fresh. The fried chicken pieces were fried just the right amount. Every bite was a trip to heaven. The servers that also caught my attention were Tony and Kairy as they constantly came by my table asking if everything was okay or if they could get me anything else. The customer service that the servers had at this location are outstanding and exceeded all my expectations. Overall my visit to Jinya Ramen was a success and will for sure come back for more. read more

You can never go wrong with Jinya. I typically get Their Slurp Up Cilantro or Spicy Chicken Ramen and they never disappoint. The service is great and you can get in and out during lunch very quickly. I also like the Jinya Buns. This last visit I went with my son and their kids plate is very complete. He almost got more food than we did. Highly recommended! I love Jinya and their food is great! I'm only rating 2 stars because I've been ordering to go and they keep getting my order wrong. I ordered spicy vegan ramen and the spicy Umami Soup online and somehow they were both not spicy. It's just disappointing to be super excited to eat a hot spicy meal but when it gets to you it's not what you ordered. I know we are human and people make mistakes, but it's been multiple times were my order has been wrong. I don't think I'll be ordering from this place for a while. read more

Three of us went here for dinner and each got different Ramen bowls. We also got the shareable brussels sprout tempura. Although they are obviously fully staffed, it took far too long to be served. The flavors of the food are good, they are all seasoned very well. However the shareable was more of a serving for one. Each Ramen bowl had two very thinly sliced pieces of meat and green onion. Other than noodles and a small amount of broth that is all that was in our bowls. I requested a little more broth which was brought to me. And then I saw at the end of our dinner we were charged $4.50 fir maybe 1/4 cup of broth. So overall I will say that although the flavor is good, there is a lot of competition in this space and you can get more value for your buck at other places read more

This environment was warm and inviting! The lights are low and the staff welcome you once you walk in! We had a wonderful waiter that walked us through the ramen and if you save your broth order more noodles! My husband got the Goku ramen and it had a huge piece of brisket and the seasoned sauce is perfect to add just enough flavor to your ramen and the fresh garlic is free if you wants to add something else! This is our second time in Jinya since we moved to Cypress. It is a nice stop when you crave a bowl of hot noodles soup. Takoyaki came with crispy skin and enough octopus inside. Yum! The only drawback is there are probably too much mayonnaise on the plate. The Ramen is surprisingly less than what we remembered. We like the flavorful broth. I like the Sproutup which has bean sprouts and Brussels Sprouts you don't normally found in Ramen, but it added some veggies in Ramen in a creative way. Tonkatsu Black was flavorful. The original Tonkatsu Ramen was too salty like many other Ramen places. Unfortunately, the potion are in the smaller side. The worst part is I ordered a blueberry something-Jito and was told it is nonalcoholic and adding a shot of rum will be 8.50, but to my surprise when we got the bill, the shot itself is $8.50. In other word, the blueberry Mojito is $15. It is misleading to name a drink with a famous cocktail name to start with and it is outrageous to charge 8.50 for a shot of rum. Where Jinya shines is in its small plates: takoyaki (served over egg salad - brilliant!), The chicken karage, shrimp tempura, shrimp toast, fried brussel sprouts, poke bowl, chashu bun (called the Jinya bun), you name it! It's all very fusion-y, but it is all delicious! I would honestly be happy just getting full on the small plates here. I'm sure you still want to know about the ramen. Well, it's mixed: The tonkotsu broths are spot on, and the ramen eggs are done right. I enjoy the noodles and they have options of thick or thin noodles, which is nice. The brisket ramen is very underwhelming if you're used to Texas BBQ, and the wontons are just so-so. Would I come back? Yes! Jinya is a cool, unique, ramen bar! I loved the large dining table in the back room. The atmosphere was really nice (music was a bit loud and the vents from the kitchen in the back so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quiet intimate setting). Never been to a jinya location before but knew it was recommended to try and was excited about this new location close by. First, the ambiance is so cute and has a legit ramen bar vibe. The options to choose from were so many!! I ordered the poke salmon tacos for appetizers which I wasn't too thrilled about. Barely had any salmon for an over $5 appetizer. Now I ordered the spicy creamy vegan ramen without the noodles and with rice on the side. A M A Z I G!!! So flavorful, so creamy like as if I'm eating regular ramen. I so recommend!! What's not to like about Hot Sake, a nice glass of white wine for my lady, and a couple of spicy Ramen bowls. For appetizer we had Jinya buns which were delicious. Everything was served quickly and with spirit. The surroundings are nice and did offer up family style seating which for us let us meet new people. Ate here for the first time, I ordered the spicy Tonkotsu ramen and it was good. They were out of the shrimp wontons so ordered the chicken ones instead. They meat filing was bland. I requested chili oil for dipping the wontons. When I got my check, I noticed they charge me $.50 cents for the small amount of chili oil and $.99 for the "spicy" seasoning for the ramen. I have a message for the management, you shouldn't "Nickle and dime" your customers. When I dine at other Asian restaurants, there isn't a charge for oil or spice. Not good business practice. My bill was $21.42 with water to drink. I will come back because the wait staff was very pleasant. I would like to see if the "up charging" continues which it shouldn't. read more
