Easily my favorite ramen chain. Been here countless times, and plan on returning soon! Get the spicy chicken - you will NOT be disappointed. Jinya is one of the only places I've been to that whips up a flavorful chicken ramen, that's just as good - if not better - than the Tonkatsu broths. I've also tried the Tonkatsu black, Tonkatsu spicy, and the vegan ramen. All are amazing. Between this one and the midtown location, I'd have to say I prefer this one, as there is a shorter wait for the table, broth is more flavorful, and the food seems a little fresher (i.e. brussel sprouts tempura). Can't wait to be back soon! read more

This was my first and definitely will not be my last. The ramen was flavorful and the noodles were cooked just the way I like. The portion size was huge for the price and now I know to order more noodles for the excess broth. I will be back soon to try more menu options. read more

I'm a huge ramen fan and every time I get jinya I am always a little disappointed. They charge almost $2 for a semi decent soft boiled egg (and the eggs in ramen are like the best part??) While it's flavorful, it's fairly overpriced for just some decent ramen. read more

I've visited Jinya many times and always been super pleased with the service and the food. I usually choose a pork broth or a mix broth. The flavors are always so deep and rich. I think this is one of the best Ramen places in Houston (even though it's a chain). The ingredients always taste super fresh. The service is also usually pretty attentive and kind. They're always willing to explain the menu or recommend items if you're unsure of anything. Also they all say a Japanese greeting when you come in and when you leave which I think is kind of cute! read more

Can you say Yummy? If not you will once you visit this place. This isn't your stove top ramen from back in the day. This is a whole different experience. Lots of ramen options my favorite is the spicy shrimp. Pork gyoza and crispy chicken are delicious appetizers. Service is always good doesn't take long to get seated. Happy hour from 3-5 even on Sundays! Ramen portions large you will have more then enough to take home. Overall I recommend coming here. read more

Loved it! Definitely another great location with quality food! Service: Our party of two was seated immediately. The bar service was fast and friendly! Our server/bartender Nhu even recommended several different drinks for me depending on my taste. Food: The Tonkatsu Black was excellent and all my extras were correct! The Jinya buns were fluffy and delicious and the beef sukiyaki bowl was tasty. This was our second visit and still had an amazing experience with delicious food. I've been to Jinya Midtown several times but it was my first time at Katy location. I've heard that the first few months the ramens served were too salty but when I went, it wasn't too bad. My friend ordered the Tonkotsu black and I got Spicy Tonkotsu. The soup is super thick and gets a little too heavy towards the end but nonetheless the ramen was pretty good. My favorite menu at Jinya actually is the Jinya buns. I always make sure to order them as appetizers. I really want to thank the person who came up with this combination of the mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce, pork, vegetable, and the bun. read more

Great reviews here so we visited, first time customer here and dined inside and wow I'm surprisingly impressed! Had the Tonkotsu Black Ramen and it was really really good! Pork was full of flavor cooked perfectly and delicious, ramen cooked perfect and the soup which is the most important part was amazing spot on flavor everywhere. Well done to the management, cooks, waiter. My kids meal ramen was even pretty good came with a huge portion of various sets. Takoyaki was even delicious and artistic as well! I've been holding out in going to pick up food, using delivery services and obviously dining-in during these times. However, I just couldn't take it any longer and really craved that slurp goodness and Ramen noodle deliciousness in my mouth. So I called Jinya Ramen Katy and in 15 minutes it was ready to be picked up. As I entered the restaurant, I noticed an obligatory mask sign at the door and was greeted by a hostess wearing a mask and gloves she directed me to the bar for pick up where my order was waiting for me. When I got home, everything was packaged separately and perfectly. Not one drop of broth was spilled or leaked. Everything was perfect. The only thing I forgot was to tip when I did the pick up order. I will definitely return. Their Tonkotsu black was perfect; however, next time I will order more spicy sauce. I recommend ordering the tonkatsu black with corn,extra garlic and extra noodles. It is delicious, you will not regret. I will return and I will double tip next time LOL read more

Our waitress was also extremely attentive and nice. Definitely our new go-to ramen place in Katy. It's nice that there is a jinya near me now. The line is not as long as the one in midtown and the drive is much shorter. Service here is friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. SOFT SHELL CRAB BUN- crispy soft shell crab, avocado and baby leaf with sweet and sour sauce and spicy mayonnaise This bun wasn't bad. The soft shell crab was crispy and flavorful. Overall it was okay, but it wasn't great. It probably would taste better if the crab was on its own because the addition of the bun didn't really go well with the flavor of the crab. I prefer the chashu bun. TONKOTSU BLACK- pork broth, pork chashu, kikurage, green onion, nori dried seaweed, seasoned egg, garlic chips, garlic oil, fried onion, and spicy sauce served with thin noodles I usually like this ramen, but lately it just hasn't been consistent. For the most part, it's always salty so I tried adding some broccoli to balance out some of that salt, but that didn't work. The egg is also really salty and most of the ingredients don't do well to balance out the broth. It's a thick soup so I wish they went lighter on the seasoning. I'm not a huge fan anymore, but every once in awhile I'll have a craving for ramen. I guess I'll just have to make that drive out to midtown. read more

This is my families favorite Ramen Bar in Katy, TX!! The food is absolutely outstanding- flavorful, bold, bright flavors! They have a handful of broth options and lots of add in options. The kids meal is quite unique and is always a win with our daughter. The appetizers are all so delicious, seriously come starving because you'll want to eat lots!!! If COVID protocols are important to you here's the bottom line- they have everyone sanitizer their hands but there is absolutely no social distancing unless you sit outside (which is not pleasant because it's so close to I-10 and it's loud). read more

I've been here before but it was my boyfriend's first time. I asked to try their secret menu item the Cha Cha Cha. While pricier than most of their other dishes, this was flavorful, full of garlic and had succulent and fatty pork. We had the takoyaki small plate as an app and they were amazing. Second time here... Good flavors and friendly service at this location but the food is crazy overpriced. Hard to tell if I was at a club or in a restaurant with the servers running around screaming and how loud and thumping the music was. I've been assured by friends that the other locations in the area don't operate like this one but I don't honestly think I'll be back again. There's too many exceptional spots to try in our area to waste money at one that isn't really awesome. read more

I've come a long way from never having tried ramen 7 years ago, to trying it in several cities, including Houston. These days, Jinya is probably my favorite place for ramen in Houston. My go to order here is spicy umami miso ramen, hold the ground pork and add tofu (yes, you have to pay to switch the protein), add garlic, cabbage, and mushrooms. It is so good! I really have no complaints, besides the price being on the higher end when you add all the toppings, which...I have to add them. One of the perks of this location is the place Kravin next door, which has taro flavored snow ice. I recommend splitting a bowl of ramen or taking leftovers to go and hitting Kravin up for dessert. :) read more

They were both slightly salty, so we also got the clear broth refill which made them just right. The ramen had a perfect chew, and the toppings were flavorful and delicious. I usually don't like bamboo toppings in ramen because of the ammonia smell, but I tried some bamboo from the Spicy Ramen that my boyfriend got, and it had no strong bamboo smells at all. Other than that, it was pretty lackluster: the soft-boiled egg was hard and one of the grossest eggs I've had, and the chashu was cold. It's a bit far of a drive but I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area! I'd rate it in my top 5 ramen in Houston, though it is far from the rest and definitely the best in its area.

So lucky that thru a friend I get to go on their soft opening night. Am I IMPRESSED! It's a group of us foodies and we ordered almost everything on their menu, NOTHING failed me at all. They play pretty exciting music trendy enough to match the décor of the restaurant. I was in love with the interior design, its hip, upscale and trendy. The layout of the place makes it look pretty spacious. Once I went in I was excited about getting my food. Fried pot stickers have the most thin skin, big meatball inside, very soft. And when you take the first bite, there's juicy coming out, almost like Chinese Xiao longbao. its so hard to do for such a thin skin. Shrimp toast is something I first had in Houston area. The only other place I ever tried was in china. And Jinya's are amazing. Its very toasty when they bring it. The toast is soft yet crispy, the sauce on the side makes the toast even better. We had two orders. LOL. Pork belly buns are amazing. The buns are sweet and the pork belly is soft and juicy, perfect together, but not to much fat makes you feel overwhelmed. Unlike other place their Taco teriyaki balls are pretty soft, not too chewy, even though I like them bit more chewy, but the softness has its own flavor. I can eat it without the sauce on the bottom, that's who flavorful the balls are. I like my ramen have more texture so I asked for advise, cant remember which one they brought me, but I just love love love the chewy texture in it. Bravo. Soup are very flavorful, super rich, must took them a long time to brew to this level. My waiter was so handsome and super attentive, I think he refilled my friend's coke 5 times the entire time we were there. Food came in very fast one after another, we almost had no down time. Maybe that's why by the time we were done, we all feel supper blowded. But its GOOD blowded. LOL. Worth the 2 lb I put on myself. We absolutely had nothing to complain about. The food was amazing, and I had a really great time overall. The service was excellent--our waitress was super friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. That said, I was a bit confused by the overall atmosphere. It was hard to tell what kind of vibe the restaurant was going for. It felt like it was meant to be more of a nice, date-night spot, which I was really looking forward to. While it did have that feel in some ways, there were moments where it didn't quite match. For example, our waitress's outfit gave more of a Hooters-style vibe, which caught me off guard--especially since the rest of the staff seemed dressed more professionally. It didn't ruin the experience at all, but it did make the atmosphere feel a little inconsistent.
