My first ever ramen place I've been to and I fell in love with it. Spicy chicken ramen with and egg has my heart!

So I wish I could give like a 4.5 because the ramen at this place is yummy as well as the side dishes and staff was so nice. The ramen is a 5/5. Broth had a nice flavor and noodles were cooked perfectly. The reason I took away 1 star was because the drink I ordered was very watery. This place is delicious! The spicy broth with ramen & tender chicken - so good! The waiter suggested to move up to hot instead of spicy, since it was closer to mild. The bowl is pricey at $18 bucks & every extra ingredient is 3 bucks. It adds up quick. Also, there are only 2 little slivers of chicken. Still, I will be back because it was delish. read more

JINYA, JINYA, JINYA. It's a household name for us, except we call it, "Shai," because of what they yell to greet you as you're being seated. I could be spelling it incorrectly, but that's exactly what we say when we're discussing dinner possibilities. Boyfriend: What do you want for dinner? Me: Shai? Boyfriend: Get the keys. We love it. Ever since we visited the one in Spring a year ago, we have gone at least every couple weeks. I get the tonkatsu spicy in hot with thin noodles instead of thick noodles, pork soboro instead of chashu, add spinach, garlic, and...onsen tamago. My boyfriend gets the Sukiyaki Q with extra chashu, butter, and garlic. An employee at JINYA will notice; however, a couple of discrepancies with that paragraph, namely, the onsen tamago or poached egg, and the Sukiyaki Q. Neither of these things are on offer any longer, and to be honest, it broke our hearts. I have also noticed they are using cheaper napkins, and the salmon avocado appetizer isn't as spicy and bold as it used to be. They tend to overcook their gyoza at this location as well. The waitstaff isn't as bright and cheery as they used to be either, and it's a shame. I would have given them 5 stars because JINYA has earned a very special place in my heart. Although not REAL authentic Japanese ramen, it's decent American-Japanese ramen! I usually always get my favorite - which is slurp up cilantro, but decided to give something new a try. Let me start by saying this is my first visit to Jinya, and I will definitely be back again! We told our waitress Sydney that we were newbies and I swear she rolled out the red carpet. She took the time to explain to us the things she enjoyed, what's popular, what each section of the menu represented, and gave us so much love and attention. Based on her recommendations we tried the Jinya Tonkotsu Black and the Tonkotsu Spicy, pork Gyoza, iced green tea, and the popular Japanese strawberry soda with the marble. She explained to us how the spicy levels work, and brought us extra spicy sauce just in case we needed an additional kick. The food was divine! I will say, if you're not a pork fan definitely go with the chicken because the pork based broth is extremely rich and fatty, a pork lovers dream! My husband loves pork so he was in heaven, and although I don't love pork, I wanted to try the most authentic ramen broth (which happens to be pork based). My noodles were cooked perfectly, the egg was soft boiled as it should be, the pork piece was fatty, and melted in my mouth. My green tea was also so refreshing and delicious. My husband enjoyed the marble soda, as well and noted that the whole bottle was only 70 calories! The Gyoza was also delicious, especially the dipping chili vinegar sauce. A restaurant in my opinion is only as good as a combination of the food AND service. Jinya nailed it with this one. Excellent ramen and tiny bao (Jinya bun) appetizers. Staff is always accommodating and friendly. I'd listen to their recommendations because we have never had a bad one from them. The crispy chicken and takoyaki are a great start. Our favorite ramens include the tonkatsu spicy, Jinya chicken, tonkatsu red and the spicy chicken. The broths are alway ON POINT with flavor. Jinya is a super cool low key place enjoy warm ramen and a drink or two. Although they're almost always busy, the staff seems to remain quite friendly. They have been clutch a few times in 2022 with allowing me to order when everyone else in Katy was closed and when they would be within the last 30 minutes of closing, many other places would say that it's too late to be just placing a pick up order, but they always take your order until their last minute of their closing time which has been helpful with allowing me to catch dinner when I've been out doing other things all day. The only star I remove is quite honestly, the same for just about every place I have tried that has Ramen. When they give you Ramen inside, you have almost too much broth, which is nice if you love the broth, part of the soup, but when you take it to go, utensil not have enough broth to even cover your noodles. I love my brother, so it's always upsetting to get it home and not have enough to cover the noodles or to bring it up when placing the Order and be asked if I want to pay more for a double serving of broth. I never feel like I need a double serving. I just need the same amount that they would serve anyone who is dining in. Their food has gotten saltier and more expensive while the quantity we're getting has decreased. I used to have soup to pair with the noodles, now it's just soupy noodles at best. The spicy chicken ramen was just perfect. Very good broth, the thin ramen was perfect. The chicken was really tender and not over cooked. The egg was just made perfect. My wife had the wonton ramen which was a little different. I tried one wonton and damn it I wanted more. The wontons were just so good. I also ordered the pork on the side and very nicely made. As appetizers I got the jalapeño butter corn, very different super tasty had a perfect amount of cake and flavor. We also had the Gyoza, they were perfectly fried and done loved the dipping sauce. Had a small order of the curry rice this was so good. Also ordered the five piece crispy chicken. This would normally be the Karaage, very nicely fried not over done and super tender. The chashu are subpar quality and basically all fat, the veggies skimpy so you have to pay like $5 extra EACH for same past portions and the noodles doughy n gross like bloated powdery washed noodles. On all three fronts, a 1/5. They got the order right and packaged well so 2 stars but I won't be back here. read more

Came here with my family. They are observing social distancing so NOT all table are available. The food took longer than we expected even when there was not much people. We ordered the SPICY UMAMI, BLACK TONKATSU, and the SPICY TONKATSU (extra HOT). My mom who isn't really a fan of Japanese ramen fell in love with the black tonkatsu. It is perfect if you don't like spicy food. I recommend Spicy Umami if you like a little bit of spicy. But if you like to be extra with it, I recommend the spicy tonkatsu and order it extra hot! read more

The most mind blowing vegan food I had. Their Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen is amazing. The broth feels like a taste that you can't get without dairy, but it's vegan! By far my favorite ramen place. Back in the days I had their spicy chicken ramen as well and it's super delicious. Make sure to ask for garlic for the chicken ramen. It's free. Makes the broth much more flavorful.
