Went to JINYA Ramen Bar in Ballston with my coworkers for lunch and tried the lunch special the karaage chicken ramen. It was $19 and came with an appetizer (I can't remember exactly what it was, possibly rice cake sushi), which made it feel like a really solid deal. The ramen was delicious, the hot green tea was a nice touch, and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed everything and would definitely recommend the lunch special. Highly recommend this spot!

If you have read any of my reviews, you know that I'm biased to ramen, but this place doesn't need any extra kudos to be good. From its great location in Reston Town Center to the staff, JINYA is a top-notch chain ramen restaurant. I frequent this place a lot if I'm in the mood for good food at a respectable price with excellent vibes. The staff are warm and welcoming, and I've never had a bad experience. I usually only get one of two ramen, and today's choice was the Spicy Chicken (spice level Hot). I paired that with the chicken and salad on the side and used my points to get Brussels Sprouts Tempura (more on points later). All three were excellent per usual, lol. Even though it's the hottest level you can get, it's far from overwhelming, and the Brussels Sprouts are a must-have. I highly suggest anyone that frequents a JINYA location to get the free app and stack points; trust me, it's worth it, lol. Other than the Spicy Ramen, I highly recommend the Birria Ramen. It's a fairly new item, but it's also a must if you like Birria.

Our waitress was kind and helpful, going through the menu since it was our first time. She pointed out her favorites, as well as, dishes that were popular. My husband enjoyed the spicy chicken ramen and I thought the birria Ramen was tasty. My daughters, 3 and 8 years old, had the kids meal. The kids menu was awesome. It came with ramen, a small rice bowl with chicken and pork, crispy chicken, French fries, salad, and orange slice, a lollipop, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I wish I could have ordered that! we shared an order of pork gyoza. Super tasty and tender juicy. I'd like to come back to try more and have a cocktail.

I was greeted and seated right away. The bartender got me my choice of beverage immediately. I looked through the menu, and picked Tan Tan Ramen. It came out pretty fat and was tasty. It got busy and it took a while to get attention to check out. Otherwise it was fine.

This rating is based almost entirely on the Birria Ramen, which was fantastic. It is a unique blend that works great as a ramen bowl and I loved every bite. However the green tea was nothing special, just a typical store-bought teabag. The atnosphere is trendy-casual, but everything feels overpriced for a simple bar-focused food spot. The service was ok but not great. The selection of ramen and rest of the menu feels like it needs more variety. If the birria ramen wasn't as good as it was I would give 3 stars.

We visited here on a whim during our stopover. Our waiter was more than helpful. I tried the JINYA Tonkotsu Black and my friend tried the Wonton Chicken Ramen. We enjoyed them both and this was just what we needed on a cold day. We also tried the Edamame and JINYA bun as starters. We order 2 Jinya buns as one order only includes one piece. The pork was a bit on the tough side, and not as tender, but it had a good taste to it. Overall, it was a pleasant visit and we were satisfied. There was plenty of seating indoors and the noise level was moderate.

Amazing change of pace! My boss recommended it to me to try and it was absolutely a unique experience. I was sat at the bar as I was a party of one... but the bartender Ivan was super and very friendly. I debated having an appetizer the Bun looked fun, but I just wanted an icy cold beer and a nice dish to try. I started with reasonably priced Sapporo on draw which I have never had! Perfect... then Ivan helped me navigate the ramen dishes and I opted for the Tonkotsu Red at the 5 level out of 10 heat level. It was perfect as the more you ate the spicier the heat build. My first venture to a ramen bar and I enjoyed the dish! The pork slices and egg were very tasty. The flavors from the broth with the seaweed coupled with the fresh green onions made it something else. The bar was noisy and the lighting at the bar was tough had to use my phone flashlight lol! Definitely think I would come back and try something else off the menu even more unique!

Great raman in a hip and trendy atmosphere. I always love to get their Tonkatsu Black with thick noodles. Their broth is always so delicious and filled with umami. This time we also got the Tonkatsu Red- with spice level 4. I might get #3 next time, so it's not so spicy and I get to enjoy the broth more. We also enjoyed their Match lychee lemonade and Match tiramisu for dessert.

We went on a Monday shortly after they opened for lunch, so not too many people inside a restaurant. It was very quiet. Service was very friendly and attentive . We like the interior decor. It was modern and contemporary. Ramen was delicious so was gyoza. The sauce for the grilled vegetable was a bit too sweet. I truly enjoyed their Asian flavored cocktails, especially the matcha cocktail was made with fresh mixed Matcha right by the table side. That was a wonderful experience. Convenient location with street parking offered by the rest shopping area also nearby garage to access. Price is on the slightly pricey side, but comparable to the area . Looking forward to try this restaurant in different locations for comparison.

My wife and I decided to go checkout the Jinya in Reston Town Center since we were in the area and absolutely love Ramen. We went on a Sunday which was perfect because it wasn't crowded in the restaurant at all. We started with drinks and both ordered the Malibu Sunrise which was very tasty. We ordered the Crispy Chicken as an appetizer and we both ordered the Birria Ramen as our entree. The Crispy Chicken was excellent! It was nicely fried, juicy, and well seasoned. The sauce that came with it only added to it. My wife and I usually get the Shrimp Wonton soup, but we decided to switch it up this time and try the Birria Ramen. The Birria Ramen was sooooo good that it had us both thinking why we hadn't tried it earlier. This instantly became our new favorite Ramen! I then ordered the Smokey Wokashi OF and my wife ordered the Ringo Mule. Both drinks came with a show as fire was involved to give the drink a smoky flavor. As great as the food was, the service here fell a bit short for us. The bartender there was our waiter and he did the best he could to try to manage the bar, make drinks for the restaurant, and also be a waiter at the same time, but it was too much. It was not many people in the restaurant when we first arrived so it was somewhat manageable. But the restaurant slowly got more crowded during our time there and it was no way the bartender could keep up with the amount of people there to essentially do 3 jobs. Im not sure if they are short on waiters and understaffed, or maybe someone called out. But, we had to constantly flag him down for things whenever he wasn't busy and had a break from all of the other things he was doing. This is no fault of the bartender, but the fault of the establishment for not having enough waiters to the point where the bartender has to play double if not triple duty. Hopefully this was a one off situation.

1 spoon of beef for extra 5$. In mosaic Jinya we get half this bowl.

Jinya is our favorite ramen place but I got to know it is only the Jinya located at mosaic district.we visited The reston location recently and found a huge difference in ramen flavor. I ordered the spicy chicken Ramen and the broth tasted like spinach blanched water and there were 4 bean sprouts and lots of plain noodles which didn't soak up flavor at all. We also got the garlic rice with biryabeef on side. The beef was 5$ extra and we were surprised to see 1 spoon quantity. We usually get the same order in Mosaic Jinya and let me tell you the taste is incomparable. Not coming back to the reston location.

I definitely don't understand the high ratings for this place. I've been to Jinya twice and both times have been extremely disappointing. The service is good but their broth does not taste good at all. The chashu is served cold and does not melt in your mouth when you add it to the ramen. Even if the meal was paid for by my work I would never go here again. read more

We have been here a handful of times but after our last experience I don't think we will be returning. We ate here last Saturday and our server was sick and had to even step away from our table to cough. She brought our beer bottle to us unopened. A different server brought our food was wearing gloves but after touching several things and then throwing something that had fallen out back into the bowl left us absolutely disgusted. And now am sick. Absolutely disgusting. Not to mention we were skimped on the broth and received only 2 small slices of meat in our ramen. read more

The "Electric Dragon" is the latest cocktail by the Manager Chris. Dynamite as an alternative to an aperol spritz or if you are looking for a spin on the traditional mimosa. Every drink is mindful to your needs and the balance of flavors. You will never be disappointed with Chris as your mixologist. The food is always excellent here. The Wonton Chicken Ramen is delish. Wow, for a chain restaurant and a franchise this place earned it's four stars. The tuna and Salmon cones are served cold, kind a lumpy cold mess that is overwhelmed by seasoning and you can't taste the fish at all. I DO NOT recommend them. They also have a thick crunch, you're expecting an ice cream taste to follow. The was made up for by the spicy, hot delicious pork bellie ramen bowl. I highly recommend the thick noodles. They are tastier than the thin noodles. The Sapporo beer is cold and on tap, very rare to find that. Staff was excellent, friendly and the manager came by to make sure we had a great Sunday dining experience. read more

Missed our connect to SFO and got stuck here in the area for a couple more days..my girl and I eat ramen 5 days a week back home... it's almost embarrassing how often we haunt our usual spot so we know the goods... this place is great.. Eric behind the bar is an all star...even if the food wasn't 5 star we'd still come back... he recommended a homemade cherry mocktail and suggested jazzing it up with some rum... SOLD... got the cones the buns and the stickers to start and gave him carte blanche on my ramen... grand slam... I was thick with liquid when I left but the bowl was to the bottom... do yourself a favor... go into the place... don't get a menu... sit in front of Eric and let him do his magic... read more

Tried Merrifield location broth was salty noodles was hard. Decided to give reston location a try and broth was SALTY as well and noodles still hard broth not hot enough... it was so salty after 2nd bite i wanted to stop eating it and just get a check. But since it is $20 i had to try and get few more bites in... but i decided it is not worth putting the salt into my body so i end up throwing away half a bowl. *3.6* in my opinion. Overall very good. I had the Tonkotsu Black. Very flavorful. I ordered bamboo shoots on the side and they came in a bowl with a bit of oil in it. Very good addition in my opinion. Some of the noodles were undercooked to the point where they were clumped together. Not a huge deal, but not great either. The egg came whole. I thought it would have been easier to eat if it was in half. The food came out not so hot either. Location is great. Atmosphere is nice and cozy. The service wasn't the best, but we asked the host to seat us somewhere else. So, we may have double sat someone. Overall pretty good. read more

There is something about this specific location of Jinya, I'm telling y'all. In the past, I've always overlooked Jinya in DC, the food is bland it's so meh. BUT THE RESTON TOWN CENTER JINYA, oh my god. I don't know why but their ramen is superior to every other location of Jinya in the DMV area. For some reason, their ramens are just straight flavor bombs. I was so surprised when I ordered it and got what I got but I've ordered over and over again and I've never been disappointed. read more

We love Jinya. They have multiple locations across the country so we enjoyed them in California, on our cross country drive to Nova and of course have had them locally. The quality is always excellent, the people are great. They have several clearly marked vegan options on the menu which I love. A few that are marked veg can be made vegan with the omission of a sauce here or there so be sure to ask if you're curious. My absolute favorite menu items are the beyond dumplings and the spicy creamy vegan ramen. read more

The Sprouting Up bowl was my absolute favourite. Unfortunately, it has been taken off the menu. I have yet to try a different selection, but I really don't see how any of their ramens could be bad. Such rich flavour and large portions. Overall a very good experience! read more

Going here for my birthday. First time for Reston location. Three years vegetarian decided to go vegan from now on. Quite a few vegan ramen options. Had brussel sprout tempura. Everything was tasty. Ramen was very hearty - had flying vegan. Great broth. Tempura was a bit plain no tempura sauce but server brought a soy option. Good attentive service. Very noisy environment but that is probably what people are looking for. read more

This was my first time trying ramen and it was the best. We went to have an early dinner on a very cold Saturday after driving for many hours and the food and service at Jinya ramen made us feel all cheered up. The place was sparkling clean, great ambiance, friendly employees, especially our server Gregory. Every dish we tried was great. Guess it did not meet expectations. When it says Ramen Bar you think it's going to be a step above. We all enjoyed the pork bun appetizer and the way to improve those would be to crisp the pork belly on a grill or in a pan; otherwise, they almost came across as steamed. Taught since I was a kid two things, 1) unless its gazpacho or cherry soup, it's served hot and 2) you don't send soup back to the kitchen. So, I got this lukewarm bowl of ramen. Was it because of the additional toppings? I got the seasoned egg and chicken wonton - maybe because the seasoned egg was served whole and not split. When I broke it open with chopsticks (not typically done that way but it's not like we are served knives) the center of the egg was cold. In all likelihood the egg was cold when it was added to my bowl of ramen. Pity. Next, if that was spicy, I hate to see what mild is. I'm not at a level where I am eating spicy food and impressing with Scovilles, but this was not even registering. From one of my fellow diners - forgo the panna cotta; not sweet, very disappointed. As it was spot on to the photo, we assumed it was made elsewhere and defrosted. Lastly - services - nice guy don't get me wrong. Attentive, informative, dropped by to check on us. Here's the thing. Don't touch me. I am not big on being touched. As a waiter you do not have my permission to touch me. I go to Reston every year for a weekend long fitness convention and find myself going to Jinya every day to either eat in or order to go and eat in my hotel room. There are three areas for seating, the bar area, the chair and booth, and booth area. The bar area is nice for singles trying to get a quick bite. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen, which had a rich and flavorful broth, tender chicken, fresh veggies, and a soft-boiled egg. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the portion was generous. I also enjoyed the lychee martini, which was refreshing and fruity. This is one of the specialty drinks I like from this location. The only thing I didn't love about the place was the prices. I felt that the ramen and drinks were a bit expensive for what they were, especially compared to other ramen places in the area. I paid about $30 for my meal, which seemed a bit steep for a casual dining experience. I give JINYA Ramen Bar 4 out of 5 stars for their excellent food, drinks, service, and ambiance. For those who, like us, miss the unique culinary experiences of Japan, this restaurant offers a transporting experience. The quality of the cuisine is a highlight. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles and tender pork are prepared in-house, ensuring a high standard of freshness and quality. The restaurant's ambiance is professional yet inviting, featuring a modern rustic aesthetic that enhances the dining experience. The service was fantastic. I have been a huge fan of Jinya ever since I first had it in mosaic. Like most people I assumed ramen was just the crap in the orange bag that u guiltily put in the microwave when there was nothing else to eat. Ever since I had a bowl of jinya ramen I can't even look at that 20 cent brick of flavorless bullsh*t. Anyways I had been anticipating the opening of the reston location ever since I caught wind of it coming to town. It's so much closer to where I live so I don't have to make a trek to go eat ramen. Of course I busted my ass there opening day, and of course it was amazing. The interior was beautiful as usual and I got sat down near a window with a street view. I ordered my usual chicken wonton ramen and as usual, it was amazing. The broth is so delicious and the wontons are so much better than the plain chicken ramen. I personally always put some ponzu sauce in my bowl to add some extra kick. My server was rly kind and helpful with everything. I decided to return for a second visit with my parents after enjoying their Wonton Chicken Ramen and Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura during a previous visit. The restaurant's wheelchair accessibility is a big plus, but unfortunately, this experience did not go as smoothly. Despite the holiday season and a crowded restaurant, we waited about twenty minutes before a server attended us, even as other tables were being cleared. Once we were able to order, we chose two Wonton Chicken Ramen bowls, along with small plates of Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura and a JINYA Bun. The small plates were flavorful and satisfying, but the ramen fell short of expectations. It had an imbalance of noodles to broth, with too many noodles and not enough soup. This was noticeably different from JINYA Ramen Bar in Fairfax. Our total bill came to $58.19, which covered the two ramen bowls, shrimp tempura, and JINYA Bun. While the food overall was good, the long wait time, crowded atmosphere, and underwhelming ramen made the value feel questionable. read more

I recently visited Jinya Ramen, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is modern and cozy, perfect for a casual yet enjoyable meal. The service was friendly and efficient--our server was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. As for the food, the ramen was delicious! I ordered the Tonkotsu Black, and the rich, flavorful broth combined with perfectly cooked noodles was the highlight of the meal. The portion sizes were generous, and the toppings--especially the braised pork belly--were cooked to perfection. I also tried a few appetizers, like the crispy chicken and the tempura, which were both tasty and satisfying. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait time was a little longer than expected, especially during peak hours. However, the food was definitely worth it. This is by far the best Ramen Bar I've have ever visited. My office and I tend to frequent Pho and Asian Cuisines so this place has become our one stop shop!! Heather has been our waitress several times and she has thoroughly explained everything from preparation through the variations in soups and entrees... Jinya has a large menu and our Vegan folks had a wide menu to choose from!!! The Tofu Salad, Gyoza, and Shrimp Tempura was excellent and the Spicy Chicken Ramen and Tonkatsu Spicy Ramen has become a recurring favorite...not to mention the Mochi Ice Cream Balls for desert.... Just a phenomenally good lunch and dinner experience all around!!!! We've been there 8 times in the last month.... We just love it... This place has a racist, misogynistic man serving drinks at the bar. It was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I don't know his name--don't care to--but he's easy to spot: bald, wears thick square glasses, and carries himself with complete disrespect. He was rude, careless, totally unprofessional, and didn't show a shred of accountability. To be fair, the food is good--but that doesn't make up for the moral compromise of supporting a place that allows someone like that to represent them. I won't be stepping foot in this restaurant again. And I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who values basic human decency. read more

I had a phenomenal time at JINYA Ramen Bar - Excellent food, phenomenal service, comfortable seating, and overall a fabulous environment. The Tonkatsu BLACK - A pork ramen - was delicious. It had a just right serving size, the pork was juicy, and the broth was tasty. Our server went by the name of Mark, and he was the most friendly and informative server I've had in my lifetime. Frankel, our waiter, was kind, patient, and very helpful, especially when my elderly grandma needed help deciding on which ramen to order. He also knew which sake I was ordering in Japanese which was pretty impressive. Food here is great and you can't go wrong with anything you order. I recommend the Takoyaki, fried octopus balls, the fried chicken and the Jinya Chicken Ramen. Add some of the fish sauce to it for even more flavor and you'll be in heaven. Had Jinya Monday evening. Wasn't feeling the best so I figured ramen with their hearty and flavorful broths would help. Wesley was our server and was incredibly attentive and accommodating. Easygoing and friendly, he also gave me hot green tea to pair with the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen. I ordered extra broth which was brought to me in a separate bowl. Just had an out-of-this-world experience at Jinya Ramen! From the spot-on Tempura Brussels and Tempura corn to the mind-blowing caramelized cauliflower, every bite was a delight. Both the Jinya 2010 and Chicken Wonton ramen were bursting with flavor - couldn't ask for tastier bowls! And let's not forget the Lychee Martini - it absolutely KILLED IT! It was our first time and with the cold weather outside it was great to have hot ramen soup. Our waiter JUSTIN was wonderful, thank you, great service, always there when we needed him, but still somewhat invisible and not disturbing our discussion over our meals as we experienced in other places (last time at Morton's where we will not go ever again!!) . He was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and his recommendations did not disappoint! For our appetizers, we got the crispy chicken and pork gyoza which were soo good! JINYA is really my favorite Ramen place. I am so excited that they opened in Reston, now I can meet my friend's who live in Loudoun county here. The staff is very friendly and the managers checks in on you, excellent service! I appreciate the measures they take because of covid, cleaning and distance between tables. I always have the vegan ramen, sooooo good. Very flavorful broth. I can recommend it 10/10 and will definitely come back. read more

We came from Michigan to see some family and saw this ramen shop. We LOVE ramen so it's exciting to try something new. The chicken ramen was delicious, it was savory and the impossible gyoza, you couldn't tell it wasn't vegan it was that good. Our waiter Frankel made our dining experience quick and easy.
