I have eaten here twice. The first time was mid week and we sat in the dining room. The cocktails were awesome and we both enjoyed our Ramen. I think the food here is priced above some more traditional venues on the area, but it definitely has a more upscale vibe and decor. My second visit was on a weekend and we sat at the bar. Usually when you eat dinner at the bar, you tend to get more attentive service, but this was not the case on our visit. Being a weekend night the restaurant was busier than my previous visit, but not so busy that we should have to ask for water on multiple occasions. Also, we had to flag down the bartender to even place our order. There were 2 to 3 bartenders throughout our meal. Overall, I would say my first visit was four stars, and the second visit was three stars. I didn't go in the bathroom this time, but the 1st time I did go and the gap between the stalls was huge. There is very little privacy. Vibes! JINYA is not your typical ramen bar. The restaurant features a full bar with TVs and plenty of high top and booth seating. It's very well decorated and fairly big. We went on Saturday evening and told there was a wait so we sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple drinks. There were 2 bartenders and an additional man helping behind the bar. He explained the full menu to us and made suggestions. They have a wonderful rewards program that we signed up for and got a free Nikuman pork bun. The bun was slightly sweet and the pork filling salty. The ramen was incredible! Plenty of noodles and toppings. Very flavorful. The tonkotsu black pork broth was flavorful. It wasn't as salty and the Special featured ramen we also got, which I was happy about. They give you a choice of noodles - thick or thin. I liked the thin and will try the thick next time! Ordered a J Girl and sparkler mock tail, crispy chicken, impossible tacos, eggplant, chicken chashu bowl, regular, spicy (hot) chicken ramen, added a side of mushrooms, rice noodles, house salad. $98.58 The kiwi is nice and refreshing, the kiwi taste is prominent. The J Girl is good, you can definitely taste the grapefruit juice. The crispy chicken is tender, but rather fatty and grisly. Not for me. The house salad is quite earthy with the kale, would have been better as mixed greens only. Not a big fan of raw kale with the thick rein on it. The eggplant is quite underwhelming. Mostly Brussel sprouts than eggplant. Sauce is overwhelming and not that special either. The spicy chicken ramen broth was so-so. It had some hot sauce on top of the soup. The spinach and chicken is the extent of the ingredients, not much to it. The rice noodles didn't pair well with this soup. Ramen would have been better. The chicken chashu bowl has the braised chicken and the white meat chicken? Both are quite bland. None of the food impressed me at all or made glad that I ordered it at all. Anything after 6 is an extra $1 charge which is.... kinda crazy to me when the price is pretty high up there compared to other ramen restaurant. Our server said the spice level is pretty spicy, so pick two level lower than what you assume you could handle. He recommended 3, saying it would be a decent medium spice level. I went with 3 and it was more like a mild. Honestly, if you can handle spice, just get whatever you want. I definitely wished mine had more of a kick. The taste was good enough though! Not the best that I've had in the area, especially for the price you are paying. Wasn't wowed but you do get a good amount of food. The broth was hot (temp) and came out pretty quick. The egg in my ramen bowl was nicely seasoned. My friend is vegetarian and there was a nice selection for her to choose from. Nice and spacious inside. My husband and brother made their ramen a combo, so one got a small bowl of Tokyo Curry and the other got a bowl of Pork Chashu. The combo also came with salad, and the upgrade was about $7. It was worth upgrading as both the curry and the pork chashu bowl tasted amazing! The tonkotsus were good; very hearty and heavy, it's a good pick if you're super hungry. The Tonkotsu is served with thick noodles. The creamy vegan is indeed, very creamy. A yummy pick even if you're not vegan! The protein in the ramen was tofu. The Yuzu shio carried just the right amount of citrus, and is a good pick for the summer. The noodles were thin and were okay; it ended up being slightly undercooked so it was stuck together and a bit mushy/sticky. They also forgot the egg for it, but quickly brought it out once we asked. I recently visited Jinya hoping for a comforting bowl of noodles and left feeling underwhelmed. The first impression didn't help--things felt a bit chaotic from the moment we walked in. The host seemed unsure of the seating situation, and it took longer than expected to get a table. They dont take reservations. Added myself to wait list just to be kick out 3 times. Absolute mess. Onto the food, ordered two different ramens, and two rice bowls. The broth lacked depth and richness, the noodles were overcooked, and the toppings felt more like an afterthought than a carefully curated combination. It wasn't inedible--but it certainly didn't hit the mark for a place specializing in ramen. Rice bowls were just blend no seasoning no sauce. Drinks were good. Jinya might have potential, but it's currently lost in its own lack of focus. With better organization and a serious upgrade in the kitchen, it could be worth another shot. The ambience is cute and the drinks were good and playful, definitely a highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. My friend came here for dinner on a Friday and it wasn't busy compared to when she went on a Saturday night where there was a line. Our server was nice and friendly but a bit over the top. We also found it odd when he didn't ask us if we wanted to spilt the check and was in a rush to expense our check. As a newer location they were definitely more adamant on asking how our food was when we hadn't eaten much of our food yet because we were catching up with the each other. We were both excited to try their limited Birria Ramen but they were unfortunately out of it because they said they only make a small batch each day. We shared the creamy shrimp tempura and I ordered the Jinya Chicken Ramen. The shrimp melted in my mouth and was really good and the ramen was good. My friend loved her spicy ramen and Jinya bun. There was one thing that really brought the whole experience together and that was Mrs. Shay!!! She was absolutely wonderful! From the second we walked through the door you could feel her warmth. The food was very good, the issue was the service. At first, it was as if we were seated in a black hole before anyone came by with water, a greeting, ask about drinks. I asked for nigiri and he brought a pint beer glass. Dude, WTAF? Just NO. We ordered food and the two ramen bowls arrived right quick but it was a solid 5 min before the Chicken Chashu bowl arrived. That should never be how food arrives. I asked for cabbage, spinach and tofu to be added to my ramen bowl. They arrived on the side. By the last bite, the additional items were finally warm. I almost appreciate the concept of "this is how the dish is served & here are the other things so the diner can control how much of each to add" but that wasn't how things were done on my last visit so getting cold items was a bit disappointing. The second beer one of us ordered sat at the bar for quite a bit of time before the server noticed / brought it over. He might have been new or the place may have been understaffed but we were under-impressed with the service tonight. Nice guy but not terribly good. I recently tried out Jinya Ramen for the first time before seeing the new Housemaid movie at Emagine. Jinya is located in the old Andimao's. I had passed the new restaurant several times and finally checked it out. The first thing I noticed when i visited was the posh, sleek, dim-lit atmosphere, perfect for a date or a night out. I made a reservation in advance on Open Table, since we came on a busy Friday night. We started with the crispy chicken appetizer, which was tasty. Next time I'd like to try the tonkatsu or bao appetizer. For drinks my boyfriend had the mule and i had the Ringo Mule with Cognac, , Cinnamon Derara, Aple, Lemon, Ginger Beer, Angostura Bitters. I'm allergic to amaretto and asked for them to make without and they were able to do this without issue. The Ringo Mule was very tasty and I would highly recommend. For main dishes, I had the premium tonkotsu red ramen which was super delicious and I will definitely be ordering again. It came with a pork broth: pork chashu, kikurage, green onion, seasoned egg*, nori dried seaweed, red hot chili oil, spicy bean sprouts, served with thick noodles. You choose your preference of spicy level from 1-10. I said 5 for a medium spice level and I will advise you, this was very spicy. My boyfriend had the Tokyo Yatai Classic ramen dish, which came with a a limited-edition Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime spoon that came wrapped, to take home. Most ramen dishes are around $18-$20 so prices are a bit more expensive for a ramen bar. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. I definitely enjoyed my experience and will be back soon. A large steaming spicy bowl of tonkotsu red ramen was the perfect meal on a cold winter's night. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Jinya! We went on a Sunday afternoon and we were able to be promptly seated. Everything was fresh and delicious from the Impossible tacos, which were seasoned to perfection, to the Birria Ramen which did not disappoint!! I also really love the refreshing strawberry mint mocktail. Service was great and we finished up our meal with the Matcha tiramisu, chef's kiss! National chain JINYA ramen comes to Royal Oak! We came for lunch on Memorial Day Monday, one of only a handful of places open for the holiday. Similar to other JINYA locations I've been to, JINYA Royal Oak has an upscale Asian-inspired relaxed atmosphere. While service was attentive and food came out quickly, I just wish the food was a bit more on the flavorful side. We got JINYA pork buns, edamame, and 3 different ramens among the 3 of us, and overall, the ramens were a bit bland: lacking flavor, lacking broth, or too creamy for what ramen is. Glad to see that we have one here in Michigan. Have been to other around the Unite States. The service was super nice and was seated fast. The place is all new and modern. The people who work their are nice and very attentive. Everyone was super accommodating. The food is amazing as always and of course we ordered too much and brought it home. They need to take that off the website so that it's not so confusing. Still, the hostess was super friendly and accommodating. I've been to JINYA in Tulsa and have always had a good experience, so I was excited to take my wife to this location since we live in the area. Upon arrival there was another couple waiting to be seated ahead of us. I don't know how long they waited before we got there but after a minute or so they left. My wife and I continued waiting, moving to be sure bar staff and waitstaff saw us. Our presence was never acknowledged. After another minute or two we also left and ate elsewhere. It's a relatively new place that looks cool in insta but i think other ramen places are better that are also much cheaper.
