Jinya always hits. I hadn't been to one in a while but I really do enjoy their ramen. My partner ordered the wonton ramen which was really light and tasty. I ordered the spicy ramen with mild heat, which wasn't any heat at all, so now I know. It was so rich and I loved it. We ordered karaage, which was super crisp and absolutely delicious. They have a good happy hour too. Our server was really friendly. It wasn't that crowded, which was nice.

I recently dropped by Jinya Ramen for a late afternoon meal. The restaurant was fairly empty and the waitress seated me in a prime seat where I could see the whole restaurant as well outside. The interior design was very chic and the music playing from the sound system was upbeat and eclectic. The server came by within minutes, explained the menu and offered a few suggestions upon my request. After careful consideration, I opted for the Jinya Chicken Ramen, a delightful combination of chicken broth, chicken chashu, spinach, green onion, and fried onion served with thin noodles. While the dish was tasty, it fell short on spiciness. I immediately regretted not ordering a spicy ramen. I mentioned this to the waiter and he volunteered to bring me some chili sauce to add to my ramen. Unfortunately, the sauce only added an orange hue and did not add any spice. I devoured my ramen to the point where I could read the text on the bottom of my bowl that said "no ramen no life." I contemplated dessert; however, neither of the options appealed to me. I opted for the check once I finished my meal. I was surprised to see a $1.50 charge for spicy sauce on the bill. I did not make a fuss since the charge was minimal; however, I thought it was in poor taste to add a charge that was not disclosed upfront. All in all, I got my ramen fix and discovered a new spot that just opened in October!

Best Ramen Bar ever. The vibe is cool and the cocktails are spot on. The service is always great.

Host at the front said to be seated as we like Took to the bar and we were really good Went straight to asking questions and we put our order in.... Here's what we got Spicy Tuna Tacos (hard taco) Takoyaki Octopus balls (soft in texture fun to pick up with chopsticks)

This is probably one of the better JINYA locations I've been to - the space is absolutely beautiful, and the staff and the food preparation were on point! We decided to visit them after their soft opening and re-treat ourselves - this time, we decided to start off with: +Pork Gyozas - came with 6 pieces; these were fried well +the Impossible Bun +the Crispy Chicken - aka karaage +Spicy Creamy Shrimp Tempura - large-sized shrimp that were perfectly fried, and dressed with just enough of that nice creamy sauce without making it too overpowering; the shrimp was fresh and came out piping hot! +and, the Chicken Wings with a sweet soy glaze - I would probably ask these to be extra well-done/crispy next time with a bit more of the sauce For the ramen, we ordered: +the Wonton Chicken Ramen - the broth was still creamy, noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, and there were generous amounts of chicken-filled wontons! Don't forget to ask for the hot sauce and paste to add to your broth as well as to dip the wontons in! +the JINYA Tonkotsu Black - with an added nitigmago egg +and, shared Spicy Umami Miso Ramen I love their nitimago egg, as it's so jammy and well-marinated - I could eat 3+ of these in one seating - AHAHA Adding any additional toppings comes in a separate dish, which is so great, so you can dictate how much you'd like in your bowl. The staff and the manager team checked in on us throughout the evening, and our water was constantly refilled. It was nice to see familiar faces from the opening night as well! We really enjoyed the newly developed Parks at Walter Reed - JINYA fits right in, and I hope the locals enjoy this place as much as I do! Plenty of street and garage parking in the area. +perfectly al dente ramen noodles +friendly & efficient staff +street and garage parking

Great food. Super friendly and fast service. Chic interior. This is such a good addition to the area! I recommend the tonkatsu black - so flavorful and absolutely delicious! Also the spicy tuna cones are so fresh and good! I'll definitely be back to try more things.

Every bite of my three course meal was packed with flavor and exactly what was needed to fill my midday hunger pains. The star of the show was the Shrimp Wonton Ramen which was served with thick noodles and wontons stuffed with shrimp and pork. Now that I have been introduced to this spot, I'll definitely be hitting up the location in Arlington, VA more regularly. S/o to my servers, Nick and Mercedes for providing such great customer service during my visit.

I have been to a couple Jinya locations, but this one has been my favorite! It is so cozy and I was pleasantly surprised by the depth but balance of flavor in my "spicy creamy vegan" ramen. Usually vegetable based broths lack any serious flavor, but this one was delicious!! The prices are a little high, but I genuinely enjoyed the taste and the thickness of the noodles used. My waiter was also very friendly and attentive! I will definitely go back to this location and check out their happy hour menu:

The address says it's on Dahlia Street but the entrance is off of Georgia Ave. We had trouble finding it at first, so be mindful of that. The ambiance is somber and relaxing. Definitely a nice vibe. The service was great from the hostess to the server. The Ramen was pretty tasty too. I don't eat pork, but I do enjoy Ramen with pork broth. I asked if the pork could be swapped for an extra egg, but I had to pay for the extra egg. I wasn't a fan of that, but it is what it is. The bowls the Ramen came in were nice too. I didn't like that the bathroom only has the air dryer. They should also have paper towels as well, not everyone likes using those air dryers.

In a taco that includes only two things, guacamole and impossible meat, the guacamole was missing.

I called in and ordered food for pickup (impossible rice bowl, impossible tacos). The rice bowl had way too much rice but still was very tasty. The tacos tasted fresh, packed with flavor and a smaller portion than I'd like but still excellent. The only hitch was that in a taco that includes only two things--guacamole and impossible meat--the guacamole was missing. I hope for better luck next time!

As a Japanese who's enjoyed meals at several JINYA locations on the East and West coasts, I was disappointed with online pick-up and meals I received. My husband placed an order in the morning and picked up the meals smoothly. The meals were ready 20 minutes before the selected time window, so they were lukewarm when I dug in at home. The broth of the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen was flavorful and Jinya-quality. The soup wasn't too rich or spicy so it went well with the chewy thick noodles. However, my side/add-on menu was not prepared correctly since the salad was missing. Besides, even though I wrote it down as "no crispy garlic," it was completely ignored. The Impossible Rice Bow was creative and tasty. Just like Japanese soboro, the impossible meat was nicely seasoned so it tasted like real meat as well, but the box was filled with a lot of dry crispy chickpeas. I didn't even recognize the impossible meat until I ate a mouthful amount of kale. I am pretty sure that the experience would be totally different if I did a dine-in. Unfortunately, the online pick-up service seems not ready yet and needs additional training/attention. I would like to come back again for dine-in and enjoy regular fresh meals.

I am so glad they finally opened this Jinya in the fantastic, trendy The Parks at Walter Reed community. I am a vast Jinya Ramen fan, and it is by far the most beautiful restaurant. The ambiance and service are excellent, and there is always quality food. I will be here often!

Daikaya Ramen is an unassuming spot serving some seriously flavorful ramen in DC. If you're a ramen…read morelover, this place is definitely worth seeking out. We ordered the Spicy Miso with the spice bomb and egg, along with the veggie ramen with spice bomb. The Spicy Miso was the clear winner--easily one of the most flavorful ramen bowls I've had, with just the right kick and incredible depth. The veggie ramen was also excellent and a great option for vegetarians. We also tried the gyoza, spring rolls, and Sapporo beer. For dessert, we ordered the black sesame ice cream, but the ramen portions were so generous that we were too full to finish it! Service was quick, attentive, and efficient. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a Japanese ramen spot--casual, lively, and unassuming. The food felt authentic and the flavors really stood out. They also have an izakaya upstairs, which we unfortunately didn't get a chance to try. Definitely saving that for the next visit!

Let me start by saying I recently visited Daikaya on Monday, August 3, 2026, and unfortunately the…read moreservice that day was disappointing. I gave that particular visit 1 out of 5 stars. However, I also want to mention that Daikaya is one of my family's favorite ramen spots, so we were genuinely surprised by the experience because it has always been much better in the past. When we arrived, we were told that our entire party had to be present before we could be seated, which we understood. We also know that seating is first come, first served. In the past, we've been able to sit in a booth with two people, but this time we were informed that booths were reserved for parties of three or more. It was a little frustrating because the restaurant was slow at the time, and my wife politely explained that we would likely be finished before the dinner rush. Even so, we respected the policy and waited until a seat became available. I do want to give Terry a shoutout because he was very kind and professional. I explained that I couldn't sit at the bar due to my foot, and he was understanding. However, when he relayed that information to another employee, I immediately noticed a change in the other gentleman's body language and attitude. He seemed irritated about having to seat us. Once we were seated, the interaction only became more uncomfortable. He slammed our cups onto the table, and when I asked for a straw, he didn't hand it to me--he simply placed it down without saying much. There were several other small interactions throughout our meal that made us feel unwelcome. It reached the point where we decided we'd rather leave, so we flagged Terry down, asked for to-go containers, and requested the check. During our visit, I also noticed a party of four seat themselves and grab their own menus while both servers had their backs turned at the bar. When the same gentleman approached them, his demeanor was completely different. He was pleasant, took their order right away, and their food came out promptly. Watching that interaction made our experience feel even more disappointing. The food, thankfully, was excellent as always. That's one thing Daikaya continues to get right. I also noticed that none of the staff members we're used to seeing--who have always been warm, welcoming, and respectful--were working that day. Overall, this visit was a rare disappointment because the customer service simply wasn't up to the standard we've experienced over the years. While this particular experience deserves a low rating, I also want to acknowledge that every previous visit has been excellent. I'm hoping this was just an off day because Daikaya has consistently been one of our favorite places for ramen.
