    Fried chicken sandwich

One of my favorites. I randomly came here for dinner the first night I moved to DC and have been coming regularly since. The vibes are excellent- warm, cozy, local post-industrial brick and steel. The waiters have been around a while- hopefully that means they're treated well. The owners are around and often working. The upstairs is open when the patio is closed. Most of the food I've had has been really good, shout out to the friend chicken sandwich, smashburger, grain salads, mussels and mushroom toast in particular. Local beer options are always a hit. It continues to be a beloved local haunt.

We're here every day except Mondays because they're not open, lol. We love Morelands! Food is great, my faves are the chopped salad and blackened catfish. Husband loves the Tuesday burger and wings. We're also southern, and say with our full chests that their grits are amaze. Morelands is great for the neighborhood, great for sports. When we're not encased in a glass nightmare of snow and ice, parking is pretty easy. Staff are all super professional and kind and very accommodating.

This was a great saloon and reastaraunt and we had a great time tonight. Some people hand said that Thursdays are their busier nights and I would concur. There was no space at the bar and all of the tables were occupied. The three of us stood at the side of the bar near the big screen television. We ordered chicken wings with buffalo sauce, and it included celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. The portion was enough for the three of us. After about three hours hanging out, I had managed to finish off three rounds of 0their classic lager called Other Half. One friend got the 14th Street spritz cocktail, and the other one got the Giner Manhattan. It wasn't half bad and it had sagamore rye, ginger syrup, and vermouth. The place was quite lively and al lot of fun!

I randomly found this restaurant when I was on a walk and needed a break from cold and the wind. I was lucky enough to get there in time for happy hour and ordered a few items on the happy hour menu and on the regular menu. To start I had a glass of house Cabernet and their pretzel bread. The bread came with Dijon mustard and pimento cheese. It was really delicious; the bread was fresh and warm. I also ordered the steak tacos and a side salad. The steak tacos were delicious and cooked to perfection with a chipotle slaw. I really had a good dining experience. If you're ever in the DC area, you should give this place a try.

Moreland's Tavern is a great place to get good eats and good drinks. It's nestled in between DC neighborhoods of Petworth, Brightwood close to the neighborhood of Manor Park. We took an Uber there and walked home on a nice fall evening, enjoying the stroll to no end. Ok done with all the hoopla of where ya at and how ya got there and got home. We came to Moreland's on the bequest of a friend, who knew a friend who runs this joint in DC they wanted us to check out. Well, it was freaking all that! Or should I say Moreland's is great. This is the epitome of unpretentious bar food at its best. The best part, its right in a neighborhood, which I personally love to know. If I lived by Moreland's, I'd eat and drink here on the regular. Solid tap selection, check. Great service, check. We were ushered in and sat down and ate good. Not sure what more I could ask for. I had the Pork Schnitzel which was outstanding and substantially filling. The lemon aioli sauce they had on the Schnitzel was quite tasty and the Schnitzel was prepared well. I think I could of ate two if it wasn't for dessert. Wife had the veggie burger which was OK. Nothing to rave home to mom about. It could have used some texture balance but hey, you don't eat meat so piss off, Ha Ha! But back to dessert, we had the most decadent flourless chocolate cake with a drizzle of crème something. I could, well I did lick the plate. This is a neighborhood pub/establishment and solidifies the term local. I am beyond delighted we were recommended to come here as we enjoyed a great meal and had great service to boot. If ever in the DC area this would be a place I'd come back to in heartbeat! Cheers to the whole house that rocked out our first visit to Moreland's!

Dinner at San Matteo, yes please and thank you!…read more Good food and service was memorable adding San Matteo to the list of favorites. The front patio is cute and a nice spot to sit on a nice day. We entered the restaurant, pasted the bar and made our way to the back. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice outdoor feeling to dine at. We were immediately greeted by our waiter, given water and warm bread with olive oil. To kick off our meal everyone had different ideas of what they were craving so we went with three starters. PROSCIUTTO E MOZZARELLA for one. It that had the usual meat and cheese board with nuts, mini bread crackers and jam. I liked how pistachio pieces were found in the meats and cheese. [5/5] BEEF CARPACCIO which is a family favorite of ours was a must try. The tender slices of beef with arugula, with sliced capers and celery. It reminded us of our trips to Italy. [5/5] FRITTO MISTO came next. This mixed lite battered bowl of seafood goodness with a little spice delight. It had calamari, fish, shrimp, garlic, zucchini and chilies. I really liked how the batter was lite which says a lot because I love really crispy anything. [ 5/5] On to the main courses, we proceeded with different pasta noodle dishes. BUCATINI BOLOGNESE one of my favorite pasta noodles was my selection. The noodles were al dente and the sauce and meat were excellent. [5/5] PAPPARDELLE CINGHIALE was my husband's pick. The pappardelle noodles were al dente and nicely accompanied the meat with the tasty sauce. Topped with ricotta; the dish was full of flavor. [5/5] CHICKEN ALFREDO was the last pick. Not an authentic Italian dish; however, hats off to the chef for making this for our picky eater in the family. The sauce was creamy and delicious. Noodles were cooked perfectly. [5/5] Surprisingly we had just enough room for a sweet ending - an Affogato. Whoaza! The espresso was yummy; put some hair on our picky eater's chest. It had a hint of licorice flavor that was unique. Let's not forget the San Matteo Spritz. Smoky and highly enjoyable. I loved it and will order again when I return. Overall, San Matteo hit all the check boxes for our lovely family dinner. The staff were attentive and never left us wanting more water, food or waiting long. The food was tasty. It seems upscale with a casual feel. Some people were dressed for date night while others were having a casual meal with family or friends. The seating options of areas were all unique in its own way. Front patio for a nice day, from the front indoor dining area for maybe a more intimate feel, bar and table top area for a drink and appetizer going solo or with a friend; and lastly the back dining area for a a bigger group to enjoy your meal. Mixing up the dining options that suits you. I'll be back to try other dishes.

My friends ordered the garlic Parmesan wings, bbq wings, old bay fries and salmon sliders and I didn't hear one bad review. All of the staff was friendly (ask for Bre she'll take care of you). Both DJs were a vibe and definitely had me and friends there way longer than we anticipated. The only reason I took away a star is because the air conditioner didn't seem to be working. Although the space is on the smaller side, there was plenty of bar seating, an ample number of booths and the drink prices were a good deal. If I lived a little closer, I could see myself dropping by much more frequently. T he only downside that felt apparent to everyone I came here with, was the strong smell of fried fish. I personally wasn't too phased, assuming it as part of their menu. But the longer we settled in we realized it was coming in from an adjacent business which is incredible hard to control. With that being said, we smelled like fried fish when we got into my friends car and the smell followed us everywhere for the rest of the night. Like I said, I understand that's a hard thing to control but it may be something to be mindful of if you've got anywhere you need to go after.
