The second time a metal sheet came flying off a truck and hit my car on the highway. My boyfriend's m37 got side swiped while driving by a woman causing about $9K in damages, the entire drivers side was dented from headlight to rear wheel and the driver's door was unopenable. Shortly after, my is250 got side swiped while parked by a woman who was trying to park next to me causing about $800 in damages, a small paint scratch in the rear bumper. My boyfriend found JJ via Yelp and decided to use them because they were the highest yelp rated auto body shop around in Houston. The reviews quoted excellent service, good body work, and timely updates. Also, there was the $95 for $125 deal and $100 gas card for $1000 jobs deal. (I got none of this unfortunately because my repairs didn't meet the minimum cost :[ ) It took over two months for my boyfriend to receive his car back but the work done was immaculate, his car looked brand new on the outside. But they left some marks in his leather seats, a bunch of trash in his trunk, some adhesive still stuck to his door, and forgot some pieces to his door which we picked up a week later (if my boyfriend hadn't noticed then I'm sure we would be missing that piece of his car for life). It took almost two weeks for me to get my car back. The paint job looked good but the clear protective film they replaced had bubbles. The resolve? They would correct these things at no cost, just bring it back and they'll have whatever fixed. They also replaced a few extra things for my boyfriend and buffed out a scratch for me for free during the repair process. Thankfully insurance covered everything, including our car rentals during the repair time. We dropped the rental car off at JJ and trusted them to return it on our behalf. BOTTOM LINE- choose JJ if you're not in a rush, want someone you can trust, value updates and good customer service, and want good body work. They seemed rushed because they were busy during the holiday season. They're not perfect so double check their work and don't be afraid to let them know what you're not happy about. -1 star for not double checking things for error before returning the car to the customer. read more

2020 update: Happy to say I've been a customer of Jimmy's for over three years now. The quality and timeliness of service has still been maintained despite the fact that he is getting a lot more business than he used to! 2017 update: Been here multiple times by now. JJ usually has the best price but more importantly his body shop is one of the few who truly care about their quality of work. Before you get any work done I recommend you ask your body shop for a detailed breakdown of their repair process. Then you can call JJ and compare. JJ took the time to explain in detail every step, some steps my local body shop didn't even mention they would do! Finding a trustworthy body shop is a pain so I'm happy to know I finally found one. Update: My brakes were giving me issues so I brought it in to the dealer who gave me a super high quote on getting them fixed. I was struggling to find a mechanic who was willing to help me so I called JJ, turns out they do car repairs in addition to body work. I spoke with Jonathan at JJ's and he was able to fix it without replacing any parts. Saved me a ton of $ and taught me not to trust a single word the dealer says. I came to this place based on the positive review on Yelp, well I think I made the right decision considering I live in Katy. Jimmy introduced me to his brother Jonathan to do a replacement of my front wheel strut assemblies, four wheel alignment and trunk latch cable lever replacement for my '13 Toyota Camry which has a 195,000 miles on it. Jonathan really diagnosed my vehicle very well and I'm quite impressed and satisfied on his explanation 'cause before I came to their shop I went to a Toyota dealership and had their 19 point multi-point inspection and they suggested to replace the pair of struts and not the assembly itself, while Jonathan said that the coil spring would eventually going to wear out, so to save me from another labor cost he recommended to replace the assembly itself in which it make sense to me. They even allow you to buy your own parts and that I believe is a good management decision for Jimmy, 'cause most people like to have their own parts be installed. It is quite a drive on my part but I believe it's worth it, 'cause I already found an honest, competent and reasonably priced car service shop which is family owned managed business at JJ Auto Body Shop. I wish I could give this place 10/5 stars. This shop is a rare gem amongst any business I've ever come across. You always hear about auto repair horror stories, how people take joyrides with your car and how they overcharge you for items. When I got into a car accident, I thought my experience would be similar. Luckily enough, I found JJ autoshop and based off of previous members experiences, I thought I would try them out. First off, the staff at JJ are absolutely amazing. Abby and Jonathan helped me out so much and were working with me the entire morning trying to see what the best options were to get my car repaired to the price I was looking for. We tried all options, and we were even looking into scrapyards to see if they could get us a better deal. But the guys at JJ go above and beyond for the customer. Even thought it was after hours, Jonathan helped me to drive 10 miles to the scrapyard, help find the part that I needed, and even helped negotiate the price on the item! I don't know of any other place that would do that for their customer. It's just simply amazing, this shop. Everything about the deal was transparent down to what needed to be done and what they could do to help me stay within my budget. When I got my car back, it looked as good as new. The paint job was excellent and you can't even tell I was in an accident. They really pay attention to details, and even helped to straighten out my license plate. I can't recommend this place enough. If you are unfortunate enough to get into a car accident, the bright side is that you're in Houston and can visit the people at JJ autoshop. This review has been long overdue! I met with an accident while taking a U turn and the front bumper was completely damaged along with mechanical damage within the hood. Being in Houston, I was told this was not uncommon given the video game drivers on the road. I sent out quotation requests to multiple body shops but Jimmy was the only one who provided a comprehensive quote and wanted to walk me through the damage. With that preface, I'd like to categorize my review. Service: From the email contact to the delivery, service was 5/5. Seriously, I wish I could give more stars! I understand how mechanical components are adhered together with the hood ( and that's really sayin something). Polite, courteous of requests and most importantly, ON TIME DELIVERY! I chose JJ Auto Body back in December based on yelp reviews and, while I'm over 4 months late in leaving a review, at least I can speak to the long-term results of the repair. My Hyundai Elantra GT needed a new door and a couple panels, which I'd delayed getting fixed for far too long. Jimmy gave me a fair quote, arranged everything with my insurance company, and got my car back in shape in a timely manner. I followed their instructions for keeping the paint job in good order, and several months later there have been no issues with the repair. The paint is an exact match, seams are clean, and no issues with weatherstrips leaking - you'd never know the damage I had! They were also very friendly, gave me progress updates, and provided me shuttle service to get to work. It's been about that time since I've gotten around to leave these two brothers a review on their auto body shop. Obviously 5 stars! Someone rear ended my car a couple months back and these two brothers took care of my vehicle with top notch repair. They handle all kinds of vehicles; from your Fords, Chevys, Hondas, to Lexus (Which is what I have), and other luxury vehicles. The insurance company gave me the choice of going wherever I choose and after seeing the reviews and the before/after pictures of their work; I knew I found the place to take care of my car. The rear bumper looks as if nothing ever happened! Insurance companies usually want to save money and some body shops usually want to make that quick cash and get your vehicle done and over with, but these brothers made sure I had all OEM parts, handled any business with the insurance company, and made sure I was provided with brand new not reused or recycled parts (there is no quick Bondo used here.) My other worry was that the paint gets matched perfectly to the rest of my vehicle. Well again...these two brothers must have some awesome repair guys working under them because the paint job is perfect. They also guarantee their work, if you notice something is just not quite right they'll be happy to correct it. But for the most part they'll get it right the first time; at least they did on my vehicle. Oh and after they repair your vehicle, they detail it! So expect your vehicle to be looking mighty clean when you pick it up. If I ever know of someone that needs collision work or if I need it again (crossing my fingers I don't), I'll know where to go.
