Love to find these rare gems. We went in today curious wondering what to get. The employee named LEO was our first good impression. He was helpful in letting us know the recommendations. We decided on the Patrami Burger combo it was delicious. It's a quaint place clean all the workers respectful & happy even delivering the food to the table. Now.... let's talk about the scones.. No wonder these things are so popular you have to try them so yummy! We really enjoyed our choice to try something new and a little hidden. Looking forward for our next visit. JJ Burger has a long history in Provo, having moved from it's long-standing Rocky Mountain Drive-in location on 500W and just off of Center Street. It remains an unpretentious gathering place with a standard menu of acceptable fare in the tradition of classic drive-in eateries. The new name, building, and decor give it a slightly more updated feel while maintaining the things you may have loved about this Provo stalwart. The employees and owners are kind, outgoing, and helpful and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I would not put JJs at the top tier of burgers and sides, but they are far better than anything you will get at global chains and you will feel like you are visiting that old home favorite with friends. read more

Tried it for the first and between price, quality, and quantity I'd give it 5 stars. The quality is real good for price. Good quality veggies, with good flavor. I was shocked by the taste of the food. They do their self a disservice by not really keeping a charming atmosphere inside. Now, I don't know how they make their food nor do I know where they source ingredients, but for a 50s style diner burger, this thing was good. Very cheap too. It honestly reminded of a Whataburger. I'm from the south and I grew up eating Whataburger and I was thrown back into my childhood when I took a bite. These patties are not thick, but rather pay homage to the early days of burgers. They make them with mustard and onions and thin patties. I sincerely respect what they are doing here. Our food was fresh and hot and I'm happy. It tasted good. You know when you stumble into a new place, and you're just so stoked that this unassuming diner/drive-in/dive looks like a hole-in-the-wall but is actually really awesome? I love those places! This is not one of those places. It looks like from other reviews we should have tried fish and chips and scones. Maybe we totally missed the bus here. We ordered an oreo shake that my kids all shockingly refused to eat. I had a taste and learned why--it had a sour, spoiled milk kind of taste to it. So sad. Their chicken nuggets were spongy and awful, which they also refused. The fries however were great! Some salt please, but the fries were the one thing I could say was better than average here. My 1/4 lb burger was solid. Looks nothing like the picture from their website, but it was pretty good. The table we sat at looked clean but it was sticky, and the bathroom was downright scary. read more

3.5 stars. Saw the excellent reviews and thought we would give this place a try. Overall, it was just good. For me a great burger all comes down to the meat. I usually know I am going to get something great when they ask how I want my meat cooked or if they advertise burgers prepared to medium. The meat here was nothing special with average seasoning. The bun was very good, and the toppings were fine. Overall, I would rank this place on par 5 Guys. There are many burger joints in the area, and this place probably doesn't rank in the top five. My family enjoys walks around downtown Provo and has always wanted to try JJ Burger. We went on a Wednesday early supper and the place was empty. The staff were welcoming and following proper covid protocols. I ordered the western burger which is kind of like a BBQ cheeseburger with fries. The wife got her customary mushroom swiss with fries. One thing I loved was a cream soda (don't remember the brand- iron something) from the soda fountain. Both burgers were tasty and the fries were golden brown deliciousness. One very small complaint I have is that the patties are 1/4 pound instead of 1/3 pound like other places. But I won't hold that against them. Would be a five star review if not for the awkward bathroom layout. Seriously check it out. read more

Everything was fried to perfection! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We went to a carnival before this and didn't want to wait in the long lines, so we went here instead. We made the right choice as we still got to have a foot long corndog and it was much better than what we would have gotten at the carnival. I've been here twice in three days because my son loves this place. It's pretty good, but the lady working Saturday night wasn't very friendly or nice compared to the lovely people working on Thursday during lunch. Standouts for us are the cheeseburger (double cheeseburger is actually a little better - meatier) and the English chips (way better than their fries which we didn't love). The shake was too thick to drink like a traditional shake. It was more like a blizzard or concrete, but my son enjoyed it made with peanut butter cups. I'll definitely be back when I'm next in town. When it comes to burger places in Provo the item thing that really sets up the playing field is pastrami burger. Nearly every burger restaurant has one. I really felt like they had the worst pastrami burger out of all the places I've been to. The burger just kinda seemed dry. There wasn't much flavor to it. read more
