Now the sweet potatoes were phenomenal but overly priced for the size, I'd stick to the regular fries great portion, great crunch and well seasoned. Literally one of my favorite places to eat when I'm at the office. It's a two minute drive and the food is always incredible! Also tons of parking which is a major plus in Houston. The owner is the sweetest lady and works so hard as she takes orders and serves food simultaneously. We've always loved the JLB on Stella Link, so we assumed this location would offer the same quality. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When our food arrived, we weren't given any condiments. The teenager at the counter disappeared into the kitchen, and after waiting about 10 minutes, she never came back. By this point, our food had gone cold. Frustrated, I went behind the counter and grabbed mustard, mayo, and ranch from the fridge where I could see they were stored. When the employee finally reappeared and I explained what I had done, both she and (I assume) the owner just glared at me for the rest of our meal. To top it off, when I went to the restroom, the soap was watered down to the point of being ineffective--possibly a cost-cutting measure. If they're skimping on hygiene in a public restroom, I can't help but worry about what corners they're cutting in the kitchen. read more

We enjoy this place on a regular basis. Tonight we arrived at 714pm and was met with a greeting and then quick question of need more time and will This be here or to go because we close at 8pm? A quick reply of so if we order now for 'here" will we need to be out at 8pm? The reply was yes we close at 8pm - we are not a restaurant. ?? Sadly disappointed with this service or lack there of tonight - Not the norm for them at all. Maybe they need to close earlier so they don't have to be worried about last customers in dining times. The food here is always plentiful and good. The service is great and very easy to deal with. We are repeat customers many times over and will continue to give them our business. My husband and I both said "shockingly good food." I got the bacon burger with sweet potato fries, he got the regular cheeseburger, and it was all unbelievably delicious! They were so flavorful, and the homemade buns were light and fluffy and airy, not dense and heavy, so I could eat more of the huge burger than I usually can at other burger restaurants! The service was good and quick, and the atmosphere was nice! They had one TV playing sports, and one playing old black-and-white movies. I loved the latter. I never see that in restaurants! They had outdoor seating which was really nice, but the eatery is sadly right next to the highway, so it was too loud to talk out there. Nice spot if you're alone, though. read more

I was in the shopping center and saw Wings being promoted. The decor was nice and contemporary but still had that homey feeling. After a couple of seconds I was greeted with a big smile and hello. The lady who took my order was informative about the food. I got a cheeseburger and the "cajun wings." The bread was warm, buttery and toasted soft, the meat was cooked good and filling. I went here specifically to try their fish and chips. I ordered the 3 piece and you get your choice of london style (flour breaded) or cajun style (cornmeal breaded). It also comes with toast, 3 onion rings, fries and 1 hushpuppy. The fries were decent. Onion rings were good. Hushpuppy was tiny. The fish should have been the star of the show but it was so paperthin I don't even know what the fish would have tasted like. The crust had a good flavor but that is pretty much all it was - crust. I'm talking not even 1/4"thin even in the biggest part of the fish. The tarter sauce was good but there is only 1/3 of it in each tiny cup they give you which isn't very much at all. I wouldn't order the fish from here again unless I see maybe my 3 paperthin pieces were a fluke. For $14 i expect some decent pieces at least. Staff was nice. read more

What can I say? I was presented with a well seasoned very juicy burger. The bread was on point. Everything about this burger made me want more. They have several different burgers to choose from on the menu, along with some chicken offering and some wraps. But I wanted to keep it simple and order the cheese burger meal. It come with a cheese burger, fries and a drink. When our number was called and I saw that cheese burger I was like... HOLY. COW! It was a great size and the bun looked very fresh. Right after the first bite I was hooked. Darn it! Writing this review has my mouth watering just thinking about how good that burger was. Now I want to go back NOW! Side note... the fries were just fries and they don't have coke products so... that's the only things that I can come up with that may be on the not great side. I should have gotten a kids size lol. Taste: burgers were perfectly seasoned and juicy. The fries were good. Onion rings actually tasted like they were fried in fish grease and had no seasoning. Needed fresh grease and some salt. The wings were perfectly breaded and fried. I mean great crunch and juiciness, but no flavor. We had to add seasoning to even eat them. Overall: I recommend the burgers and fries and would give them 5 stars. Everything else was kind of a let down so I had to remove a star. I would definitely come back for burgers. read more

I'd heard about this place that opened about a month ago in Royal Oaks although they have other locations. I finally made it there last night with a gym buddy who'd also heard of it but never been.. Absolutely the best hamburger I've had in years if ever! The fries were hand cut, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and the onion rings....OMG. The best I'd had since high school days! The bread is made on site fresh daily and the beef is Angus Beef with quality ingredients through and through. I highly recommend this place if you want a great burger with many other delights including fried shrimp (cornmeal version, too), fried catfish, even fried Oreos. I returned with a neighbor and her husband tonight as we'd talked about going and they wanted to take me so what could I say? I had the cornmeal fried shrimp and, JR, our delightful host, treated us to a fried Oreo each (I'd never had but heard of for years) which was amazing. First ordering was an issue it seems- I wanted two fish , one fried with corn meal and other London style. However that answer was NO! Whether chicken or beef, Joy Love Burgers JLB, consistently provided excellent quality burgers. On my last visit, I went with a buffalo chicken sandwich and upgraded it to a combo. The food came out in like 10 minutes. The sandwich was very good. They make their buns daily in house and OMG they're delicious, warm n fresh. The sandwich was drizzled with hot sauce, mayo, a few tator tots on the chicken strips. Their burgers are delicious too. Kobe beef grilled to perfection. This time around, the French fries were over done and were way too crispy. but they were a perfect compliment to the sandwiches, and in the end it all worked out just fine. Bossman took me as I have never been to this place. I have driven by so many times and never knew how close it is to my work. The food was so good and the portions are big so you will be packing it to go for a quick bite later in the day. Let me tell you what!!! Ive tried my share of burgers around Houston and I have to say.. Joy Love Burgers is a new "Go-To" local spot for a burger. THEY ARE MASSIVE. The meat is so tender and have such a great flavor. Not too juicy and not too dry. Just right! We ordered the "Joy Love Burger" combo and the London fried shrimp wrap. We wanted to try 2 different sides of the spectrum I guess. They were both AMAZING. The Joy Live Burger is UNREAL. This burger has both chicken and beef!! The crazy part is.. Even with the grilled chicken meat with the burger meat.. You would think it would be too much... But it's not! The chicken is thin and has a great marinade taste. Not dry whatsoever and compliments the burger. The seasoned fries cane out hot and fresh. Thumbs up on freshness. The shrimp wrap wasnt the best I have ever had but still pretty freakin good! Grand opening visit to Joy Love today and we decided to go with a Cheeseburger for the husband and Buffalo Ranch Chicken for myself. Service was courteous and helpful, though she couldn't answer a question about the intensity of the heat in the buffalo chicken because she hadn't tried it. Kitchen staff didn't follow all directions as my husband asked for no tomatoes and still received tomatoes, even though order was confirmed for no tomatoes. The Cheeseburger was good but could have been thicker, as you can see from the photos. The bread is definitely fresh-made and grilled on each side with a nice brown exterior and soft inside. The Buffalo Chicken Ranch was basically just chicken strips deep-fried and then wing sauce poured over them. A nice surprise to the sandwich is that it had crispy tator tots inside. The wing sauce was very mild, so there wasn't much of a kick, just a nice warm vinegar flavor. Restaurant is nice and clean with televisions for entertainment. Another customer had a crying child and one of the employees went and changed the closest TV to a child-friendly station for the child. They're obviously responsive to customer need. If we're in the area, we'd come again but not make a special trip. If we could give 3 1/2 stars, we would. Good, solid burger but nothing over the top. read more

Consistently good burgers = Joy Love Burgers This location opened yesterday and is the company's 4th shop. I have eaten at the other 3 (Katy, Louetta and Memorial) and this one serves the same menu and food. My Angus Burger combo today tasted just as good as the other locations and that is a big compliment. Beautiful baked daily pillowy buns, large handformed Angus beef patties dressed with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles (I had them hold my onions) make for a fine hamburger. The fries were hot and large in size. This combo meal with tax was $10 and change which represents great value. Another thing about JL, when you order the food takes between 10-15 minutes to come out. That's fine because they are making it just for me. The burger is a 5 but I feel the fries are a 3.5. That's still good but they could be better. I usually use ketchup on mine here and I wish I didn't. Perhaps it's the oil they use. I don't know. This location has plenty of parking in front, an outdoor covered patio and 5 TV's inside with plenty of seating. I really like JL and will return here since it's not far from home. Next time will be to try one of their seafood options or other sandwiches. read more
