You are telling complete lies here. I do not have any desire to work with your scamming office. Your representative came in and without explaining the total cost of the project, which was supposed to be explained to me before the samples were taken, presented me with a bill of 2000usd. At which point, I have asked him why he did not advise me of the cost. He said you are lucky, sometimes its 4,000usd. This response was not satisfactory to me and I have told him not to do any more work that it was too expensive. I called your office, and reiterated that you had deceptive pricing practices and clearly stated that at this point i do not want you to work on my project. Since that day you have kept calling my phone non-stop, while I was at work, 15 to 20 calls. Who does this? Are you telemarketers? I have told you, i would call you back, but you kept harassing me. Just before our one year anniversary in our flipped home, we found mold. WT* As new homeowners, we discovered that the process of testing and remediating mold is a big pain in the behind and highly do NOT recommend you get mold if possible. Seriously, dude. it sucks. We were referred to JLM as an independent testing company by our realtors to test for mold first, and then after we'd gotten a couple of remediator quotes, we needed to test for asbestos and lead prior to any work on our 70 year old house. Chris and Jon (the owner) performed the inspections for us. They were both very nice, professional, knowledgeable, and patient in explaining the process and answering our questions. They were very thorough with their inspection and reporting and went out of their way to even check out areas which are not part of the main inspection site. Their office staff also have been very helpful with scheduling and notification of delays. As terrible as the mold situation has been, JLM made the experience smooth for us. Our HOA required asbestos and lead testing for renovations of our unit prior to sale and we contracted with JLM. Our HOA rejected both tests as insufficient and JLM refused to come back to do testing to the HOA's standards. We had to contract another licensed company to do the asbestos and lead testing to HOA standards and the test result were approved by our HOA. After posting my initial review, JLM's owner, Jon, contact me and was very apologetic for the experience I had with his team. I appreciate his follow-up, although it was unfortunately 2 months after our initial issue. I have no doubt that if I had been able to speak with him in November when this occurred, the outcome for us would have been different and we might not have had to pay for a new company to do the testing. You should really specify that you guys only do certain environmental testing and not a general environmental testing. I was considering buying a property and wanted to check the asbestos situation. When I called around for quotes, most companies gave a quote for the whole building, while JLM gave me a quote for individual tests. I was under the impression that it would only take four or five tests. However, it was not until the inspector showed up that I learned it would take 18 tests. I understand that it's hard to know how many tests will be needed until you get to the property, but they could have told me that I would need a sample for each type of tile, tile glue, drywall, and stucco plus the roofing, roofing tar, and roof vent mastic over the phone. I emailed them after, and their response was that it was my fault for not naming all the things that needed to be tested and that it was only when the inspector was there that he could figure out what needed to be tested. I just find it hard to believe they didn't know the building had things like... a roof and feel that they took advantage of my lack of experience. In response to the JLM comment on this review, I did not say I had a budget during our phone conversation. Until reading your comment just now, I did not even know that there were limited and comprehensive inspections. read more

We recently purchased a home and when pulling up the old flooring, I was concerned we had black mold. I called the insurance company, they were absolutely no help! I called another environmental company, they came out, looked at it and said they didn't have their tool kit to test and would need to come back in a few days. Ya, I don't have time for that. JLM, finally an inspection that is worth the money! We are in the process of purchasing a home and most inspections have been so superficial. JLM however, really looks into the corners and spends time gathering samples and information. He got into the crawl space under the house looking for moisture and while there, notice the water supply lines. He mentioned that the copper pipes under the house were strapped with steel and to avoid corrosion we should have those straps replaced.
