They remodeled one of my rentals and damaged multiple pieces of furniture and appliance with zero regards or intentions to tell me / fix what happened. They left it to me to find out and then denied all responsibility for their actions. We had a roof leak that turned into having wet drywall and mold issue in the home. We contacted our Insurance company and they sent JLS out to look at the room and said they had approval to do the mold removal from our Insurance company. They also stated that they would give us a quote to replace the drywall, insulation, tape, texture and paint the interior also. They did the mold removal and never returned except to pick up the fan. After numerous telephone calls and no return calls needless to say very dissatisfied with JLS and would not recommend them to anyone. And we have contacted our Insurance company of the issue. I'll be nice and follow through. Once they actually came out, the guys did a great job of diagnosing the issue for me. They took their time and were very thorough about it. They had to take a damaged baseboard off and I thought they would just put it back but they had a different guy come out a few days later and put in a brand new one which I was not expecting them to do. My only issue is their standing me up otherwise it'd be 5 stars. read more

I've had the pleasure of working with Russell, the lead on our projects twice now in 2024. Yes, we've had 2 water leaks, one in the hall and the other in the master bath. This company is a joke. They took forever to fix our house. Months. We lost out on a sale of our home due to their lack of care to make sure the job was done. Our buyer walked away because they were tired of waiting for literally months. Also, they saw that the materials used were not even close to what they were originally done with. There were so many issues with this company from the start. They cut corners and ultimately cheated us. Demanding we pay them for the work that wasn't done in a timely manner or with the appropriate materials. We eventually were cornered into paying them and wanted to be done with the whole situation. They know they messed up, and yet they threatened us if we didn't pay. They should be embarrassed by the lack of professionalism and craftsmanship that wasn't there from the beginning. I cannot find my engagement ring after their employee came. There was a water leak around the master bathroom toilet, and my builder hired them to fix the issue which left dehumidifier near the toilet(working area includes the toilet and shower, 1/3 part of the master bathroom). Several days later, an employee came to pick up the machine. I didn't pay attention to the employee all the time when he was in master bedroom. And later, I cannot find my engagement ring. I have contacted this company multiple times regarding this issue, it's hard to reach out the PoC. The front desk told me that they will get back to us when PoC is available, however I never received their phone call. So I need to make several phone calls a day and occasionally I can talk with the PoC and I've always been told that they were still doing investigation and will get back to me. I tried several days and was tired of calling them, and I never got back from them afterwards. read more

Had a flooding problem in my home, took my insurance agents advice and went with JLS. I will absolutely never recommend or use this company again. The initial employees were super helpful and responsive. Unfortunately JLS sub contracts a lot of work out and they did with my flooring. My demo and new floors were put in by sub contractors. And the were the a nightmare from beginning to end. Took the company almost 2 weeks just to demo my floors. Employees were consistently late, stoned, and dishonest with me on a daily basis. They destroyed my fireplace, had over 5 holes in my drywall and scratches everywhere. They put baseboards back without back filling the nail holes and didn't paint the baseboards at all which was contracted to be done. I'm still fixing patching and painting there mistakes. Consider using another company this was a nightmare for me personally read more

During our escrow on a new home, the sellers hired this company to replace a fire door that had a large dog door in it. The door apparently had to be ordered and would take a week(from what I was told by agent) to make a very long story short the company does not return calls and being 45 days into our new home, the door still is not in. 2 Lessons learned, one don't recommend this company to anyone and 2 never pay for service in advance, it becomes a non priority!! read more

I agree with the reviews on here that say this is the WORST company they ever have worked with. RUN, as fast as you can to get away them even if your insurance company suggests them. I would actually find another insurance company if they do. The project managers and the front office are the worst! The left hand does NOT know what the right hand is doing. I had a leak due to missed insulation on my AC lines during the construction of the new home. DR Horton partnered with JLS to come out and repair the leak. From the beginning to the end JLS was EXTREMELY proactive in reaching out to schedule appointments, they cleaned up the affected area, stopped the leak and did a really nice CLEAN job every step of the way. Ashley & Robert came out to do the initial assessment were very friendly and courteous. Today Alfonso came out and was able to replace the insulation, patch the drywall, texture and paint ALL within 4-5 hours!!! Alfonso is amazing and did all the work by himself!! DON'T CALL THIS COMPANY! I tried to schedule an appointment for them to come out for an estimate. The first appointment they forgot. They said they forgot to write it down?!?! Them they said they'd come out the next day, but they cancelled and didn't have the courtesy to even call and tell me. I found out when I called them when they hadn't shown up at the scheduled time to ask when they would be would be coming. There are plenty of restoration companies out there. My suggestion would be to try someone else and not use JLS. If they are this unreliable in just keeping an appointment, I can only imagine how unreliable the work they do must be. read more

I am an HOA property manager, and I have to tell you, this is one of the best construction companies I've worked with. Great staff, great workmanship. Just spot on. I've used them for a multitude of problems (i.e.: siding, remediation, painting, etc), and their work speaks for itself. Plus, you actually get a returned call, or better yet, an actual person that answers the phone. To me, that's super important. As a manager, I put my rep on the line when I put a contractor in front of my Board of Directors. I don't sweat when I use JLS. They always have my HOA's best interest at heart. read more

I am writing this review of JLS and their staff. We live in Redding, Ca Earlier this year we had damage to home, and property due to winds and trees falling on home and property. With all the fires and damage in this area, it was impossible to get fast emergency service in our own area. We reached out to JLS in Roseville for help. They had a tree man and Johnnie, their lead estimator up here the same day. Johnnie did the emergency roof repair himself after trees removed from area. Then he followed up the next week by coming here to co-ordinate with our insurance company and getting us the best possible quotes for needed repairs. We were very pleased that JLS did all the coordinating with our insurance company. The follow up repair work was very professional and efficiently handled. The project Forman, Joe, handled his workers very professionally. They all were courteous and helpful along with doing great work above and beyond what was asked of them. Their office staff was great on keeping us informed of the work progress, appointments, and sending us the paperwork we needed for the insurance company. Thank you to JLS for outstanding service and taking care of all the insurance stuff for us, taking the burden off us. We would highly recommend their services.
