We experienced a fire which resulted in the entire home needing abatement due to severe smoke damage and asbestos being found in the drywall mud. That being completed, we had a home that was stripped down to the studs in need of a complete rebuild. It took a while but has been worth it. Duarte construction did a great job. Ramon Ramos was the point man for insurance company interaction, remodeling and monetary inquiries. He was always responsive to our phone calls, quoted multiple iterations of possible changes we could make, provided timely updates on all matters, and was willing to meet with us anytime we wanted to discuss things or do walkthroughs of the site. He was extremely easy to work with and we appreciated his thoroughness and attention to detail. The job foreman was Ryan Huckaby. We can't say enough good things about him. He always answered the phone and was willing to take as much time as needed to discuss the build and our concerns. He has a wealth of construction knowledge and was happy to share it with us any time. He guided us rookies through multiple options and consistently made great recommendations. The quality of work he supervised was consistently excellent. He knew the subcontractors well and stayed on top of their work. It was easy to see that he wanted the work done to be of high quality and took pride in the job he and Duarte did. Camie Kern, the selections coordinator at Duarte, was also great to work with. She was always available via phone, text, or email and made many good recommendations on the interior of the house from doorknobs to appliances, paint, electrical and plumbing fixtures, etc. She was infinitely patient. Chad White, also with Duarte, did a great job on the cabinets and met us in his showroom in Loomis to discuss specific details. And Layla Splawn reached out to us on the day of the fire to offer support and advice. We were most appreciative having never gone through something like this before and we were a bit traumatized. Throughout the rebuilding process she would periodically check in and ask how my brother was doing as he was living in the house at the time and had to relocate. That concern meant a lot to me. In February 2019, our recently purchased home had been destroyed right down to the subflooring by a massive Ponderosa Pine that crashed through our bedroom at 2:30 a.m. during a storm. My wife and I had zero knowledge of how to choose a general contractor, and much at risk if we made a bad choice. Allan Fontanilla, our Estimator, worked painstaking with the hundreds of line items, thousands of details, dozens of critical expert-to-expert phone calls and negotiations with our insurance adjusters -- and through several updates and supplements to the estimate.  Camie Kern, Selections Specialist, helped us make very pleasing choices on everything from major appliances to cabinetry, tile, wood flooring, paint colors and bathroom fixtures. And kept us within budget. While we might imagine a rougher takeoff scenario than a massive tree fall destroying our home almost a year ago, we could not dream of a smoother landing. That said, if it does happen it is crucial that you trust the company you choose to rebuild what is basically your most important asset. Your home. I first learned our house had burned when I received a call from Damon at Duarte. As I was still in the dark as far as the fact that the house had burned, I assumed he was just some form of solicitor, took his information an hung up on him. But it made me think. And I called our tenant. She burst into tears and the rest is history. For the next year and a half I had the pleasure of dealing with the good folks at Duarte as they walked me through the rebuild. It was an incredible learning experience yet one I do not care to repeat in my lifetime. I had no idea what all it would entail. And, to top it off, this happened in the middle of the Covid crisis so everything took much longer than normal. Everyone at Duarte was so understanding and patient with me beginning with Damon who was my first contact with them and was pretty much the reason I decide to go ahead and have them do the work. We have worked with Duarte Construction since the night of the fire as they were the company on call to secure the home along with the fire department. Duarte Construction made the first contact quickly and it was with Damon Conn. Within 4 days of the fire we had the adjuster and the architect out to the house things got moving, this was from the advice given by Damon. We asked Duarte Construction to build our home as fast as they could, our home burned down May of 2021 the race was on. Billy McBroom Project Manager, ran a clean job and that is a saying a lot since the home was torn down to the studs and most of the roof had to be replaced. We are so grateful to Billy for his skill and knowledge and continued due diligence to complete our home quickly. Camie Kern, one of the tough jobs, picking out all the stuff and when your home burns down it is a lot of stuff. Camie was wonderful to work with, with a great eye and even better ideas. Jeff Thomas the contract guy, he was always available for questions, he handled the paperwork with the insurance company for the constructions claim and his skills are excellent in this area. Chad White cabinet man, our cabinets are amazing, I do not have the words for this man and his skills. There are many others that we did not work as closely with but thank you for the assistance on our home, you are not forgotten. The best thing about Duarte Construction, it is not just a job for them, they get it, it is your home. They helped us in more than the construction of our home and we will be very grateful for their patience, cooperation, and kindness. We had water damage December 2023. I came home from work with 2inches of water in my kitchen and family room. There was water dripping down the ceiling and walls. The water was everywhere from kitchen to family room, stairs and master bedroom. It was devastating. I met Ramon Ramos from Duarte who did an estimate of how much water damage there was at our house. We were skeptical of who to go with for construction as we heard a lot of unpleasant stories from friends. Our claims adjustor suggested we go with Duarte as they are experienced in handling this cases. When construction began, I met with Ryan Huckleberry ( project manager), Camie Kern and Chad White. Losing your home and all of your possessions to a fire is a traumatic event one hopes to never face, but my family did in 2018. When you face such an event you want the right people beside you to help you rebuild. The folks at Duarte Construction are those people. The first person we met at Duarte was Greg Walker. He has vast knowledge about all things related to construction and the patience to walk through the smallest details time and again. We changed our minds many times and had thousands of questions. Greg was always available and worked through every step in the process with us to make our dream home a reality. Ryan Huckaby managed our project...I hardly know where to begin. It was clear from the beginning that he wanted our house to be perfect for us. We weren't just another client or job. We added some challenging features to our home. Ryan researched each element extensively, spoke endlessly with vendors, and sweated every detail to make sure all was perfect. He orchestrated the complicated dance with all of the subcontractors to assure the finest workmanship and attention to detail. He cared as much as we cared. Camie Kern helped us with all of our design elements. I am going to be completely honest, I wasn't expecting all the amazing work Duarte Construction performed to rebuild my home from the fire.  All work performed by Duarte Construction left me very impressed with the company. We had a building fire with 8 occupied apartment homes.... DUARTE was there on scene before the fire dept even put the fire out. Ashley, from Duarte, helped me with getting residents situated, speaking with the fire captain, contacting Red Cross, calming me down, etc. Ramon from Duarte was there calling his crew to get ready to board up doors and windows. They took care of everything. It was the biggest relief to have a company know what to do in an emergency situation. They took control and handled it all, so I could concentrate on helping my residents. Ramon is great, he has always been available to answer my questions by phone, e-mail or text, and to communicate with the owners, insurance companies, fire department, city of Rocklin, etc. He provided weekly updates & recaps that were so detailed. My day-to-day communication was with Tom, the project manager and team lead Brian. Tom arrived with his crew on time each and every day. They are very meticulous and want the job done correctly. February 2020 our family was the victim of arson. From the moment they arrived at the scene they were professional and comforting. They understood that we were in shock and they treated us kindly but also did not treat us like children. Greg and Ashley surveyed the house, a few days later introduced us to our project manager and foreman (Tom and Brian) at our second walkthrough. Again we encountered superior customer service. Tom and Brian have both handled our project with professionalism and kindness. I keep reiterating the kindness in this review because if you have gone through something traumatic you suddenly realize the importance of kindness and how much it is needed. A pipe burst in our home and created a huge flood in our home. We filed the insurance claim and went through the process of finding a construction company to fix home. The water damage was very extensive and affected all 3 floors of our home. We were already feeling overwhelmed and like a fish out of water with everything. About 30 years ago, we decided to have a foundation put under our two-story 1890 Victorian home. We hired Duarte Construction to do the job. It took several weeks and men to dig it all out by hand. Then they poured the concrete while on their knees. Not one crack in the lath and plaster. It was an amazing job! I'm the owner of a small commercial center in Loomis. I was never aware of Duarte Construction until 3 AM last May. The Fire Department called me and requested that I get to the property immediately.
